Hi all


I know I don't post very often, but wanted to give a quick update on our case. Our interview is set for 1:30 pm. in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia... Please keep us in our prayers..


Also, no slumber party as he will be going around 4:30 am in the morning for me and though I may be awake and paranoid until I hear something, I will be pretending to try to sleep until he calls me.

I'm keeping everyone in my prayers whose going for their interviews and being reunited with their loved ones. I love reading the updates by people...so I lurk around but don't post much

We went through the embassy in Riyadh and found the process long but worth it. There was a couple on here who did file a DCF, but I haven't seen them on in a while. You can send an email to riyadhIV@state.gov for any questions and I found them very responsive to my email inquiries. During the interview, they will ask the "usual questions" but if they find something suspicious or just security checks in general then be prepared to undergo further processing. I know several couples who had successful results and some who didn't but this is the norm for any embassy. If you have any specific questions, you can email me.

They typically don't give a reason for AP, it is just catch 22 if you get it or not. So don't feel bad for not receiving a reason for that. After you get the passport issue resolved which is the reason why he was given the Blue Slip, then how exactly is he suppose to let the embassy know its done if they tell don't contact them? That is weird, but I believe another VJer here was told by that embassy not to contact them any longer as their case is still in AP and they will call him when it is done but they kept his passport and all documents.


It is typical for all fingerprinting and signing of the document at the interview, this is standard procedure. Just keep your faith and hopefully this AP doesn't go on forever... I know some people whose been waiting at least 3 months for that phone call from the Riyadh embassy and I am one of them but my fiancee was never told not to contact them and trust me I contact them as often as I feel I want an answer and so far I think I am one of the few who actually get responses from them. Just wait a couple of weeks and start contacting them, the worse thing they will do is ignore your email or send you an email telling you again that you are in AP. Don't get despondent yet, the pink slip is actually good news so when he return the passport to them along with the paid air courier bill then you won't have to wait long to get your passport back in your hand.

 If you no longer reside in the kingdom, you will not be able to obtain a police clearance from there. Most embassies are well aware of Saudi Arabia's policy on this matter and it should not be a problem for your fiancee.

I've posted a review of our experience at the Riyadh embassy and the documents they were requesting there. Although you have gotten most done, maybe you might need an affadavit from you r employer in KSA, or it could be just a request for K-1 visas. Also, take all emails, chat logs and call logs with you. If you have to kill a couple of trees to print it all, do it. It helps with your case.

Believe me it is a good thing they kept your passport and mabye they ask so many questions to see how you would respond. They were trying to intimidate you, but you held firm and gave all information to support you had bonafide relationship... so keep the faith and don't lose hope, I believe you will get your approval and all this stress you are feeling now will seem like a bad memory...

I don't have any experinece in this kind of situation... Best advice, go with your inner voice and leave it at that.... I'm fairly certain, straightening out his visa status is going to be an uphill and frustrating process. I do know his best recourse is to take on an American citizen as a wife in order to finally be in the States "legally". He is using his parents country of heritage in order to be granted asylum, but in all actuality, his is really a Brazillian citizen. I'm sure you will make the best possible decision for yourself. My prayers are with you as always.

Check the Example Form for a bit of clarification. If possible, I might be inclined to do another form or simply hand write the information in. good.gif

If she's already done the I-134 with a reasonably recent date, I would just use that. There can only be one co-sponsor and they must fully qualify on their own.

Thank you so much for the information although it was not exactly what i wanted to hear. The person and th USCIS office in Memphis instructed me to send the I-134 and supporting documents along witht the I-129. So much for that..

At least i have time get the documents in order and sent in time for her interview. We have been living together in Malaysia for 2 years, i left her on Friday.. very difficult to be apart now.

Hello to all fellow visa awaiters! What an exciting (but long) journey we are on eh?

Just said bye to my fiancee yesterday as I relocated to the US from Malaysia, she is now back in Manila awaiting the good word from the Embassy there.

Couple of questions for you good filks out there:

I sent in the I-134 and the Bio along with the I-129 to the CA office, now on the way to New Hampshire (nothing from them yet..).

In the I-134 packet I included bank statements, letter of employment, 2 years 1040 and so on.

Since i sent the AOS and Bio with the whole, will my darling have to have an I-134 with her or will the embassy already have it? I would think the Embassy would have it she will not need it? Am i correct?

Also, does anybody have the details on what is invloven in the medical exam?

As most of the peeps here are correct. You will need to have your daughter get clearance as well. Everything shoel be fine! My asawa had to bring her 4 year old, it was a long day. Thonk God she had her mommy and sister with with her.

I filed my 129F while i was living in Malaysia and went fine.
My wife and I are now living here in Memphis TN!

However, you will need an address in the US. Just make sure it is someone you can depend on to fax or email the Notice of Action letters you will receive from USCIS

The process went well. The two item that the US is interested in is a true relationship and financials. If you have that sorted, you are good to go mate…. Cheers!

Yes, she stayed in Malaysia on the 30 day social passes. During the year and a half, we were able to extend the visa at the Butterworth Immigration for two additional 30 day passes but needed to exit after the second extention expired. Was a pain but was worth the effort for us to be together.

I am hoping to get a black and white from the police or Wisma stating they will not provide a clearance for social passes. Wish I was there to help the police with "makan" if you know what i mean. My buddy is working on it.

I will take you advice on my babe cheking wiht the Malaysian Embassy in Manila. For over three years of dealing with the Malaysian government, (I love the Malaysian people so much, but the government tried my patience, same in the US though :-) By nature, they are not flexable in any sense and are quick to say no on anything outside of the sheet of paper..

Hello mates,

I am haveing a lot of difficulty of getting my fiance a police clearance for Malaysia. Have sent myHR Manager to Wisma Putra in KL but no luck. The reason was that she was on a tourist visa 30 days at a time of the span of 1.5 years. She lived me during this time in Penang.

Her interview is set for January 8th in Manila. We have every document we need with the exception of this... Question is how strict are they on this? Does anyone have an advie on this or have been in this situstion?

I would hate her to be delied after all the hard work, money and efforts put into this stressful process.

Great news, she passed her interview it was very easy and quick, three simple questions. Her visa was delivered on Saturday after her interview Tuesday(really fast). I am flying on the 31st and we will travel back home on the 7th of June. Can't believe its over, but i sure am glad. We will do the CFO while we are there in Manila. I really don't think the process would have gone so smooth without all the help i have had from this sight. It is truly a great resource and i hope i can help someone in the future. well got my NOA1 hard copy in the mail today, 2 weeks exactly after i sent it. The date of action was 3 days after i sent. Hopefully the processing times aren't going to slow down too much, VSC has been turning them around in 2 months or so lately. Lets keep it up guys.

No not at that stage yet, i think they are sent to the embassy when you get packet 3/4 just before the interview

i haven't seen it in writing but according to the experts on here the signed documents need to be the original. Mine were and of course don't know what would have happened if they were scanned. It sucks to have to pay 50 bucks to fed ex them in a timely manner. Good luck.
