Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hiya pris as HD said..they either issue it the day before...not heard anything since hammy did his interview about getting it on the same day.. your best bet would be to get it mailed out to you...that way you dont activate your visa..and when you go back to oz its there waiting for you...(i am assuming your coming to the states for holidays lol).... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh penny just dropped...you would need ya passport huh if ya coming over here...will have to look around for that answer pris...wondering if the CR1 is the same as the K3 visa...because with the k3 your allowed to go back and re-enter...will do some research for ya.. take care kath ps... ok just took a look...read this and see if it helps ya out...If your relative is your wife or husband and you have been married for less then 2 years at the time of his/her arrival at a port of entry, then he/she will receive a temporary I-551 Stamp and then later a Green Card by mail good for only 2 years. found that in the guides..so now all ya gotta work out is how long after you arrive in the states does it take you for your greencard to arrive...take a look at hammy's or davidA's timelines see how long it took them from arriving here to getting the actual card in there hands... gawd i hope that helped out somewhat mate.. kath Edited by Kath, 29 November 2007 - 08:34 PM. Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi ya pat on the K1 visa... once you are over here and got married you then do your AOS and EAD...the AOS is your greencard once that is approved then you can travel freely and get back into the states...BUT if you want to travel overseas before it is approved you have to apply for the AP which gives you permission to re-enter the states... i think thats what you were talking about yes...ohh and on the medical...the only reason you go to your local doc is to save money mate... if you go to the medical examiner to get that done they will organise the blood test but you might not be able to claim it on medicare... why dont you give the medical examiner a ring and ask that very question ...x-rays you have to get done by the medical examiner...and will charge...and on the waiting period for your interview best bet would be to look up some k1'ers timelines for australia.. katz congrats to you on your approval..thats awesome news...things will sure start moving along for you now... hi ya pris congrats on getting your interview date...whoooo hoooo after all this time finally on your way over here chookie..so happy for you... take care kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-11-29 20:24:00
Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi ya the x-ray is organised by the medical examiner..in melbourne if your going to the one in bourke street he will make you an appointment for and x-ray place at the top of collins street... HD: K1 visa's present their affidavit of support at the interview...with you doing the CR1 journey its different way around it... congrats on getting your packet 3 Pat..and yes it is a bit overwhelming..just take your time read it all.. disgard what does not apply to you .. and fill out one page at a time put it aside then when you have done filling it all out re-read it to make sure its all correct...question...is there anything different in the packet 3 nowadays comapred to what is listed on the embassey information for australia...if there is can you update the info for future aussie's...and can ya check out any other info you have been sent in packet 3 such as doctors and police check that might be wrong on the info page in there too.. thanks.. take care kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-11-28 12:14:00

HIV, MEASLES, MUMPS, RUBELLA, SYPHILIS, VARICELLA and i got the tetnus jab... if you would like to see what kind of letter my gp gave me .. give me a hoy an i will email you a copy... also how long were you in Dubai..only reason i ask is if you were there longer than 12 months you have to get a police check from them also.. on the Hep B jabs.. not too sure on the answer to that one..maybe do a search on vj about it..or email the consulate in sydney to just verify it for you...no harm in asking...also have a look at some of the posts in here cos i remember some of the other aussies had that jab and discussed your question...either rings.. loke or think it was sharyna..cant remember ... just do a nick search and take a look at some of their posts... hope that helps ya out a bit..ohh and seein ya in melb if ya want pics of the embassey so ya dont get lost.. i can do that too.. take care kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-11-28 00:30:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi ya just a note on the blood tests make sure your doctor prints out the results for you to take to the medical signed and dated..also save the receipts of medicare to take too..cos the doc will put the pathology on the medical where you got the results from... also before getting all the vaccinations make sure you need them by age ... this would save you money ... also the other two diseases can be tested also on medicare..hiv and syphalis i think they were...when you go for your medical ask the examiner to make a copy for you to keep.. also keep all your interview paperwork in a folder that way you will know exactly where they are for the day.. when i was getting ready for my interview i had a big expandable folder where when i was collecting paperwork i just placed them in there and put it where i knew i would find it...i know how messed up a house can get when your sorting out stuff to do the big move.. ohh and make copies of everything that you might need for AOS and for future records for the doctors over here... i hope ya dont mind the tips ..just some dont know these things... ohhh i hope everyone had a lovely thanks giving...now for the big day not long now....where the hell has the year gone...lol take care happy monday... kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-11-26 12:45:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi katz no the visa journey doesnt help in that department mate..that is the couple's responsibility to organise.. which county will you be living in...i found a link with all the county's address and phone numbers you might give them a ring to find out the facts..cos sometimes the internet can mislead you mate... in Ohio which isnt far from indiana...we just went into the marriage licence place showed id and got the licence ...then you have to wait 24 hours before you get married and that was it..lol..no blood tests either.. i was reading that you would have to have a medical by a local doc too in indiana... info on marriage licences in indiana hope you find out something different than you did mate with a phone call...at least you have 90 days to organise this stuff.. i would apply for the marriage licence as soon as you arrive...that way you have heaps of time up your sleeve... kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-08-27 11:59:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi ya kellie awwww mate how can we get sick of our aussie mates...some of us have already gone through the AOS stuff so heaps of help for ya here... also on the social security office turn up about an hour before they close that works.. they work faster to get themselves out of work too.. i have done this twice and its true lol...ours has a security officer that shuts the doors i think it was half an hour before closing gawd it was 15months ago now i cant remember lol.. also read the instructions there might be a thing about you have to have your EAD to get your SSN..read on VJ somewhere too .. but i would go for it and have a go to get one mate...dont forget your passport with your I-94 and go before the 76th day i think it is before expiry.. take care kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-08-23 22:52:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi kym and thanks for the congrats...hope all goes well for the move to college...its a big thing over here isnt it.. but i bet your looking forward to your honey arriving though huh... hi jess.. thats great that you have your bio appointment...we had to travel to detroit for ours ...it doesnt take long at all...show id passport and your letter fill out info sheet and wait to be called.. mine only took about 15 mins... make sure your hands are clean...ohh and another thing...the passport photo's you sent in with the application aren't used on your greencard...the photo they take on the day of fingerprinting is the one they use...i was spewin the passport photo's were better than theirs lol..they take all 10 fingers too so dont put any hand cream on before you leave.... wonder where all the others have got to.. hi to them... ohhhhhhhhhhhhh vylex and mrs vylex are getting married today (oz time) probably at the reception by now ....whooo hoooo.... take care kath ps. a bit of news i been keeping under my hat...were looking at buying a house...its still up in the air at the moment ..and to all those military couples..have you ever heard of the GI Bill ... i dont get it much but you can get a home loan through being in the military...just google it and see what if it might help anyone of you wanting a home loan....robbie was in vietnam so we can apply through it...when more concrete things are in order will let ya know more... Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi ya calcheng there are a few other things to consider too...if you get a friday interview and your fiance doesn't live in the sydney area (meaning other state) get her to stay the weekend and pick up the visa on the monday.. also there is a thing called public holidays that gets in the way too...because the american embassey gets the american public holidays plus the australian so look out for that also.. also there has been a few aussie's that received their passports in the mail longer than sharyna about a week i think it was...so if your fiance can stay longer or go back the next day to pick it up in the afternoon...i would do so... good luck to you both hope the interview isnt too far down the track ...what with this apec meeting thing going on ... hi sharyna.. what type of coffee are you after...i buy the international roast from the link i told ya about... hope everyone is going well ohh ohhh tomorrow vylex and mrs vylex get married again whoooo hoooo... cant wait to see some pics vylex if ya dont mind sharing... take care all kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-08-16 20:08:00

"""I GOT IT""" and whispers to all the aussies else where in the country .. ya lucky ya dont live in ohio hehehehe...cos there is a mad aussie on the roads now lol I got the nice guy too... he shouts out you ready kathryn is the kangaroo waiting for us outside lol everyone laughed..did the manuerability ok got points off for stopping to look if i was going ok...then he told me to drive out and turn right..and omg i turned left..i said you want me to do a u'y down the road he said no we will take the scenic route (thank goodness)...and it was done within 10 minutes...ohh and points off for not signalling 100 ft before turning....so i got it thats the main thing.. he was so great even before i started the engine he said is there any questions..gawd i wished i had of beat the young girl into the office the last time i would of got him then lol.. went to get my licence printed out and they looked at my greencard and my ssn card and i gave them my marriage certficate to get it put in my married name and she gave back my australian licence in tact...so thats a bonus... then as we were leaving the bloke was coming out to do another one and he started hopping like a roo lol... so that being done now i think i have completed everything i need to do over here except the removing of conditions next year of course...whoooo hooo i got it .. i still am on cloud 9 over it.... hi ya rings..thanks for your kind thoughts...i just wanted everyone to be aware that these things can happen and i would hate for anyone else to go through what i went through that night.....say hi to loke from us and im sure he will get better soon...bet he is missing some buttermenthols lol ohh vylex would flying over some ocean or country by now ...on his way to oz..hope you arrive safely vylex... take care you lot kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-08-11 13:31:00
