K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Just Starting....Reading All The Info....	hi and welcome to VJ as all the others have said just read all the guidelines use the example forms and be patient..double triple check all forms that are to be sent in and dont forget to sign and date the forms.. relationship evidence includes photo's boarding passes and your passport pages ... make copies of whatever you send in for your own records and put all your copies in a folder and know where you have put that folder for future reference... my husband (then fiance) sent our application by express post for next day delivery with USPS they give you a tracking number which you can track online.. dont loose your NO2 (approval notice) this is needed for your AOS pettition... your visa is valid for 6months and you must get married within 90 days of arriving in the states... there is a Canadian thread on here also which might help you too just go to forums regional discussions and see where it is.. take care and good luck and dont stress over it too much.. kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-04-23 20:11:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K-1 Interviews for those living abroad	hi there from what i have read there are a few australians living in the Uk that have gone through this process and had their interviews in london... you will however have to get a police check for Australia there was a couple who just sent the fingerprints to to australia where the fiance lived.. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Wanting to marry an Australian and live in the US...HELP!	hi and welcome to VJ I am an aussie who came to the State on a K1 visa..which is the fiancee visa...got married within the 90 days then did my AOS and now i have a greencard.. I have been living here in the states for a year now..take a look at my timeline.. K3 spousal visa is supposedly quicker than a CR1/IR1 visa..and the DCF is only if the U.S. citz lives in Australia with his/her fiance also while were on the timeline thing take a look at timelines of aussie's that way you can judge roughly how long it takes ... AUSSIE TIMELINES What you might help you is to read the guides on here...they are all there.. which visa do we need if you are going for a K1 visa...there are quite a few couple that have had ceremonies in their homelands (beneficiary's) so family can be their...as long as it is NOT a legal marriage.. also there is an aussie thread on here and there is lot of info just about anything... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Is it possible to request an extension?	hi ya if your going to be seeing each other before he moves here ..make sure it's before he receives the visa in his passport...because if he comes here (states) with a visa in there at the airport officals may look at it as him activating his K1 visa..(if you get me) and there is only time you can use that visa... but you would be ok to go visit him... so just keep that in mind when visiting each other...better to be safe than sorry good luck in all you do through your journey.. take care kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-08-24 20:11:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Is it possible to request an extension?	hi there the above is correct..the only one that can request the extension is the U.S. citz...we had an extension done on our NOA2 for a month and my husband had to write a letter to the consulate in Sydney stating why we need the extension and for what date we were looking at having the interview...Robbie went to Ausralia to be with me at the interview that was the reason.. so include all your details Case number and date expires and the reason...give USCIS a call to see how long you can extend it for..but the 6 months after the interview is something to consider too.. good luck kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2007-08-23 21:07:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K1 Processing times - help!	hi there when you have your interview at sydney you need the original copy of the NOA2 with you...also orginal affidavit of support with accompanying documents..eg. bank statements, employer letter and tax transcripts.. i dont see any prob with the u.s. citz being in oz while waiting for an interview...from what i have read in the aussie thread sydney are scheduling interviews at the moment for december 07 and january 08.... you could get someone to post your NOA2 over to you in oz... and if your having a co sponsor they will need to send you all documents for your interview... your quite welcome to come into the aussie thread there is heaps of info in about the different visa journey's aussies are going through... good luck whichever visa you decide on... take care kath ps if you were in london for more than a year .. the australian has to get a police certficiate from london as well as australia....forgot to mention that part to you... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	birth certificate issues	hi there you would think the letter you have would be enough but if you look in the australian embassey info at the top of this page ..the sydney consulate's email address is in there i would email them explaining your situation and see what they say mate... this would be your best avenue i reckon to getting an answer to your question..they usually answer any emails quite quickly too.. also there is an aussie thread called land downunder which many aussie's go in and share info that they have found within their own visa journey... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	name change	hiya i have been marrid for about 2 and half years now..i still have my maiden name in my passport when i travel i carry my birth certificate with me .. and also carry my greencard with my marriage certficate...but if you havent changed your name in your passport when you travel overseas book the ticket in the name in your passport.. to open bank accounts you will need your marriage certificate for quite a bit if you are opening a joint account .. drivers licence ... take a look at the passport website for australia.just google australin embassey in u.s.a...and look at living overseas....there are a few australian embassey's around the states...you would have to send it to one close to you with all the documentation they need and pay a fee.. good luck on your journey kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2008-11-18 13:32:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hi ya your most welcome stella ...and dont worry about the venting people around you are just as excited as you are about this journey and probably sharing your feelings about it all.... hey there kaffy if you go to the first page of this thread you will find the archives of the last one.. in there ..there are copies of the vaccinations you need..if you cant find them i will scan my copies out of my packet 4 for you an email them to you...what you might like to do is get a blood test to check up on your ammunity for the vaccinations we have to have..then when the results come through get your doctor to give you a copy of the results..i got my tetnus on medicare...i am also going to see if i can get my HIV blood tests done also on medicare... as for the police check yes you are right it is valid for 12 months..the same with you medical .... dont worry on the organising friek i am the same way ... you should see all the different folders i have with stuff in them robbie cant believe it... im not sure on the I-184 as yet..maybe do a search on the website search engine above to find out... take care kath	Kath	Female	Australia	2006-02-20 01:54:00

Asia: East and Pacific	LAND DOWNUNDER	hey matt fantastic news mate ...glad it went well for you..smiling here big time that you got through it without a hitch... i leave the states tomorrow last two days have been depressing but i will bounce back positive thinking is all that is needed..not looking forward to packing yet again... robbie came home from work this morning about 1am and i heard a knocking sound on the door...(not too keen on opening the door that time of morning) and it kept being rattled...then i heard the keys jingle an thought its robbie so i opened the door an there he was holding this huge heart face thing with arms and legs...and this red soft hush puppy...im not use to celebrating valentines day so early in the morning....i found something practical for him a seat massager...he loved it as i love my pressies...damm im one lucky woman to have a fella like robbie...
