IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCR1 Approved Today!! Cautiously Elated...

I can't believe it.  My husband was approved this morning at the embassy in Kingston Jamaica.  The CO invited me into the interview and honestly I am so glad he did.  He said he was concerned because my husband could not remember the date of my last trip to Jamaica.  He just knew the month- so the CO told him to come get me when he found out I was waiting outside.  He was a really nice guy.  He asked me to give him the dates of some pictures; he asked me how many times since my wedding have I been to see my husband- and I said 8 and 14 times total.  He was impressed by that because he said, and I quote, " and it's not like you are coming so often to see family or anything right?  So you must be coming like every 2-3 months."  And I said yes and with that my husband got approved.  Not only that but the CO said we would have the visa in a week so we could fly back to the US together.

What a long and tiring day- but oh so worth it.

Thank you VJ for all your support and guidance throughout this journey.  I couldn't have made it without yall.

Congrats and God Bless both of you!!

Everyone!! Oh  my God!

Oh my God! Everyone! I'm approved! I checked the USCIS website just now! Oh my God! And I had to keep on checking and clicking it just to make sure if its true and the website isn't just malfunctioning. Hahaha, anyone here July filers who got approved already! Check your statuses everyone! All praises to the Most High! Thank you everyone for the prayers! Now we're heading to the next step. I'm not sure what the next step is yet but we'll get to that. Hahahaha!

Don't loose hope everyone! I really believe that what I did last night was the reason why this miracle happened. For the first time in my life I knelt down and prayed and talked to Jesus Christ my Savior with all my heart. I had complete faith that everything will happen according to His plan. You might want to do this, believe and give thanks for an answered prayer even if it hasn't come yet. God is good all the time!

Just a summary, our petition was accepted July 25, transfered to Texas Nov.22, and approved today December 3. I think our case was expedited because I'm a Filipina and that benefciaries form Phils. are said to receive a benefit of expedit as a relief for the recent Typhoon Haiyan. Yes it is indeed fast! My husband and I are truly grateful for this wonderful time in our life!

Keep on praying everyone!

HE is good all the time!  God Bless you both.

In my state, they don't do it based on something being in writing either. Did that. Still have gotten 0 help from them.

That.s right...so you can imagine they will do even less without some kind of paper trail.

I have done this. Twice. All the Senator did was file an inquiry. Which is obviously not thoroughly taken into consideration because I received the same letter from Newark stating there is no information available at this time. I have called the Senators office three times today, I get tranferred and the call drops. Newark New Jersey, for lack of better more politically correct verbiage, is a hellhole. Thank you dear.

Senators/congressmen won't do ####### in most instances based on a phone call.  You must put this in writing.  Then they are held to a higher standard...there is evidence that they were contacted by you. I would sent it via USPS Return Receipt mail.  This way they can't say they never received it.

Good Luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 APPLICATION APPROVED IN 13 DAYS!!! ^___^

Congrats to you. That is very mixed news for a lot of VJers..especially those who have been waiting for months. My husband will be filing in January so we haven't joined the pool yet. But I have to wonder; why can't USCIS and NVC just process the applications as they come in? Why is it that someone who ask for an expedition of the case, (not singling out you Marie) gets propelled over the backlog. What if all applicants were to get expedited? wouldn't that be great...but then that would again cause a bottle-neck at the expedition que.

It pains my heart when I read the sad stories of families that are separated for months - even years - only to know that those responsible for handling the applications CAN do better.sleep.png

Virtuous45,

Are you kidding me?  The "reason" some people get expedited is because they deserve it.  Marie comes from a place in the Philippines that has been devastated by a super typhoon.  Thousands are dead and tens of thousands are homeless.  I think Marie deserves a little compassion in her case.  It doesn't bother me that she is getting expedited.  I hope she gets to be with her husband very soon.

Marie and Curt,

Don't let anyone that is posting this jealous talk upset you.  You deserve a break.

God Bless you Marie and Curt.  I wish you only the best.

Merry Christmas!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 APPLICATION APPROVED IN 13 DAYS!!! ^___^

Just got out NOA2 in our email today!!!

We sent our I-130 application last Nov.26, they received it Nov.29. Today, Dec.12, we received an email from USCIS saying that our application was approved! Thank you, Heavenly Father! ^____^

Congratulations to you both!  My wife is from Cebu and it took us just 8 months from start to finish.  She is here in Hawaii with me already.  She got here in July well ahead of the typhoon.  Thank God her family made it thru okay.  We pray for the people of the Philippines daily.  Such a tragedy.  As far as your quick approval:  GOD has plans for you.  I don't believe in coincidences.  Something is in the works.  God had plans for me that I never could have imagined.  He is good all the time, even while we wait.

GOD BLESS

I was just combing through the other thread and someone made a comment about people being out for the Christmas holiday (I haven't finished reading the rest of the posts yet, so I haven't seen a response). Whatever we need to do I am on board.

Should we contact our local Representatives/Senators to see if any are willing/able to push this into the national spotlight? Granted, teh time of year is not fantastic, but what better compelling story at this time of year than hundreds of thousands of Americans are forced to be without their families during the holidays due to USCIS' incompetency?! I'm sure there's better language, but you get my point! smile.png

In all fairness to the bureaucracy none of us, me included was "FORCED" by the government to be without my wife last Christmas.  I chose to

marry a Filipina and knew that it would take time to get her here.  She is here now and we decorated her first Christmas tree the other day.  She

was not here last year but that was really my fault because we did not get married and file earlier in the year.  We also need to remember,

especially at this time of year that employees at these government offices are people just like us too.  They all deserve their vacations, time off,

sick leave, etc... I hope everyone currently waiting to bring their loved one to the US is able to do so before next Christmas.

God Bless us one and all,  God Bless America

This information was what they had available when they told us that they were working diligently to clear our backlog. Nov. #'s will probably be improved, but still nowhere where they need to be.

And advancing 1 day in over a month. BULLHONKEY.

Remember this is the government we are dealing with.. They worked 19 days in November because they had two holidays, Veterans Day on the 11th and Thanksgiving Day on the 28th.  Now as we know, many stayed home the Friday after Thanksgiving so lets just knock one more day off.  So lets assume they worked 18 days in November. That's 144 hours by the way.  There is an apparent shift/advancement of one day.  So they will report an improvement of somewhere around 5%.  In government terms that means someone will get a promotion.  Remember we are dealing with a huge bureaucracy...but you know what?  I wouldn't live anywhere else.

GOD BLESS THE USA

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports5 months since filing (split topic)

Because thats what it is an average.

Here this is the game USCIS does. I know 10 people just for Nigeria been waiting since January, February and March. so what they do is get new filers (you read on here all the time "I was approved in 20 days) well guess what they just brought their 1 year average down. The average 2 months ago was 16 months on the USCIS site. So they started adjudicating recent folks. August, September filers of 2013 were being approved before August, September 2012 and there were many.

You are going to see alot of recent before the older petitions. And that too is because the petitions before May 2013 were sent mainly to the local offices which are beyond backlogged poor Atlanta is predicting 2 years. I know two files in March 2012 with me and just got approved in August 2013 It took me 3 months. It's all a numbers game.

Its just a number doesn't mean they have to meet it or anything and really its just a bogus guide. The VJ timelines are more accurate than the USCIS.

dwheels76,

I agree, now if we could just get members to start and update their timelines as they go along.  It would make life much better for those who wait.  I now check to see if someone posting has a timeline.  If they do not I simply don't respond to their request, assuming of course they have already been advised to start a timeline.  If moderators did one thing that really mattered it would be for them to ask posters to start timelines.  But of course that is just my humble opinion.

You misunderstood me but that's okay.

Regardless of the disasters (I may not be married for a Filipino but 75% of my coworkers are Filipinos), I continue to find it interesting that they can process the petitions in 19 days instead of 9 months to a year for some.

That needs to be looked at. Maybe the folks that are collecting petitions can add fact that to their fodder.

Gowan,

Don't get me wrong.  I still love you. I believe they have always been able to process an application in maybe just a few hours, or less.  The problem is and has been for a long time that they have so many applications.  I mean you stack up 300-400 applications on my desk and its gonna take me a while to get to the one at the bottom.  I think the reason the Philippine apps are being processed so quickly is because someone is instructing office staff to put the Philippines apps on the top of the pile and to address them ASAP.  I work for the government and I have access to CJIS, NCIC, etc.  I know I can conduct a background check on someone in as little as a few minutes.  I do it all the time.  The point being...I think the employees at USCIS and NVC are just overloaded with work right now due to several reasons but that is a whole different story.

It's great that we can agree to disagree isn't it?  Another benefit of living in the USA!

God Bless you both,

If there is accountability, where is the evidence of it?  What happens when they fail to attain their 5 month goal?  As far as anyone can tell, nothing whatsoever.  If there was some real accountability, I am certain we'd see things moving along at a very brisk pace.  And let's not forget that they do speedy processing not just for victims of natural disasters.  Look around here and you'll see they also pick out random people and approve them more quickly in order to keep their average processing time down.  Most of us are now looking at nearly a year just to reach the NOA2, which is absolutely unacceptable.  I also don't think their staffers sit around all day - I'm sure most are professional and diligent.  But it really does not seem that the leadership of the USCIS sees the rapid and humane reunion of US citizens with their family members as any kind of priority.

While they would indeed have to hire new employees, they wouldn't need an appropriation.  USCIS is almost completely funded by fees - that's right, we are paying their salaries directly.  And because they are the only way to get your spouse or family to America legally, we have to shell out for it and take whatever service we get in return, no matter how poor.  So all they have to do is increase the fees a bit, and then they have the budget for more employees.  And I guarantee you that everyone on this board would be more than happy to pay 10% or 20% more if it meant we didn't have to endure these absurd delays.

I understand your pain. I was fortunate in that my wife arrived here just 8 months after we filed the first documents.  Now just imagine your scenario, if USCIS and NVC offered an expedited service for an extra fee of 10 to 20%.  Now the haves would have more and the have nots would fall even further behind.  Capitalism at it's best?  Oh this is getting scary.  I am out of this thread.

I really wish everyone success and I pray daily that files will move and people will get approved.

Taking this service out of the US govt would be a horrible mistake. No one is more concerned about the US government's safety than the actual US govt. A for profit organization would always cut corners to maximize profit.

I am happy they are expediting the Philippines cases.

Amen to both comments!!

They should just hire more people to work on the backlog, even temporarily or just until they get caught up. There's no way that they'll be able to catch up iff they don't do anything drastic. It's not like the applications are slowing down or getting fewer.

I agree 100% but do you have any idea how long it takes for government agencies to get money appropriated, and to screen and hire new employees, etc...?

David & ZoilaMalePhilippines2014-01-02 19:27:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIncredibly FAST Processing

and they took away all our resources. We can't even put in a service request because they reported that they are working on Feb 13th.  Anything after that just has to sit and frigging wait...  The Ombudsman won't even touch the complaint if you filed after Feb 13th.   but as we sit here on VJ, we see the approvals all over the place...  May, June July...  Sept  and the typhoon victims.... etc...   it is very depressing

I still think this service should be bid on every year or every 3 years. If they can't produce results, then it goes out to another bidder...  Right now, they have ZERO accountability.  They do whatever they want  yet they claim they work in order. They claim that keeping families together is their number one priority......  REALLY?  AM I  MISSING SOMETHING????????

With all due respect what makes you believe that no one is accountable??

David & ZoilaMalePhilippines2014-01-02 19:23:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIncredibly FAST Processing

Maybe they're not processing the rest of us slower *on purpose*...but they certainly don't appear to have any kind of motivation to process us any faster.  As many have observed before, the problem with this system is that there is effectively zero accountability.  They have their goal time of 5 months, but if they take longer, we applicants just have to bear it - there is nothing we can do about it, and they suffer no consequences of any kind, so they have no real motivation to ensure their goal is met.

I think it's fantastic that they are approving these people so fast, but it *does* show when they have the motivation to do so (and certainly this will make some good PR for them), they can.  Why should it take a horrible natural disaster to actually force the USCIS to work quickly and efficiently?

Perhaps you are misunderstanding me.  I suspect that the staff at USCIS and NVC are overwhelmed with applications.  A person can only do so much in a day.  I would disagree that no one has any accountability.  There are staff members, supervisors, managers, etc...  You know the old saying, "S**t rolls uphill"  That being said, imagine yourself with stacks of applications on your desk.  Now imagine your supervisor coming along and saying, "Hey thoushands of people have died in the Philippines.  Give the Philippine applicants priority.  This after what, a couple million other apps that were given priority by someone way higher up for illegals already here.  I suspect these people at these agencies are doing there best.  I do not think they are sitting around all day.

So as we can see "they" can process these apps quickly if they want to.

Gowan,

Come on now.  Let's be reasonable.  I really don't think "they" are intentionally processing any applications slower on purpose.  But when there is a crisis, such as occurred in the Philippines, with over 7000 dead, perhaps more than 1 million homeless...adults and children are going without food, water, shelter and supplies I think we as Americans should step up and help.  I think it's fine that Filipino's files are being expedited.  Let's have a heart.

(Disclaimer, My wife is here with me now in the US.  We were fortunate in that from our initial filing until the day she landed on American soil was just 8 months.  But I still think I would understand if we had to wait longer so others could get out and to the US sooner.)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRFE LIES

I'm not saying there's a conspiracy, but I do think TSC is purposefully sending out bogus RFEs and taking their #### time to do it.  The same thing happened to me.  Early Dec I was told by my congressman TSC was waiting for a reply to an RFE which I had no idea about.  After many calls and emails I find out an RFE was "Requested" mid-November but wasn't sent out yet.  The RFE was finally sent out Dec 31, a month and a half after it was "Requested".  And of course it was  BS RFE (asking for a marriage certificate that was registered, when obviously it was registered!)

Again, I don't see a "conspiracy" but I do think they're ####ing with us.

They are not "####ing" with you or anyone else.  They simply are overwhelmed with applications.  It just takes time.  I know it stinks when you have to wait but don't give up.  Hang in there. There is no conspiracy.

When you are told that on Dec.13 you were issued an RFE and you didn't receive it up till now, When you case status hasn't change form Initial Review status, when nobody ever told you that about RFE whenever you called to inquire about your case, when other Vjs are experiencing the same treatment from TSC, I do hope I'm wrong and you are right.

I didn't receive anything yet. Can someone help me plzzz understand what is going on.

Not sure anyone is lying to you.  You say that you were told you would hear something within 30 days on Dec 30?  It has not been 30 days yet. Take a deep breath.. There is no conspiracy here to "screw" with your application.

My prediction?  Congress will offer amnesty to millions of illegals already here.  There will be no stopping this.  It's simply politics.  Imagine how many Latino's the crooked bastards, I mean politicians will get to vote for them...   Both CNN and FOX say in the numbers are in the millions!  I hate to be a doom and gloomer but it ain't gonna change.

Please don't misunderstand me as I agree with you wholeheartedly.  You are correct.  The legitimate Americans are getting the shaft.  People like us who do everything legal are going to be pushed to the back of the line.  Even if one argues that the oder of the line will not change will have to admit that if millions of applications are suddenly submitted there will be a slowdown of fantastic proportion for all Americans applying during and after the amnesty deal goes through.

Didn't say it was fair.  In fact I agree, the systen is broken.  Now, thanks to Obama perhaps millions are in line for special visas if they have already snuck into the country illegally.  We gotta serve all those poor illegals first... that's just the way it's working.  What they call amnesty????  Fair?  Heck no!

Mksobe, I'm with you on everything you said....

It's not fair.  As for the person who was adjudicated in 20 days, it was probably a DCF, anyway.

I want to be with my spouse. Enough is enough! Why are K1s and F2As getting preferential treatment over us????

Because Obama said?

Approve, approve, approve can't belive it, I was at less expecting an RFE But God choose to give us an approval, bcos we did add any other evidence than a photo copy of our marriage certificate, no affidavit,no pictures,no phone log or emails, and we did t even call the senators and the congressmen offices, we just left everything to faith bcos already my wife has booked her flight and comfirm her visa to come spend time with me,and the approval came today, hang on everyone, for me to be approve, it show that everyone will defintly be approve, one love everyone

A Peace that passeth all understanding.  Congrats!!  And most importantly, GOD Bless both of you.
