K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	K1 Approval!!	Got our K1 approval today!!!!   My fiancee and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on VJ (especially for same sex couples), we could not have done it without all information we got here.   I got there at 6:30 am for my 7:30 appointment, I was given entry at 8 am.   I was called in after about 15 mins of waiting I was called in the give an officer (Trinidadian) all my documents, she also took my finger prints, after reviewing and verifying everything she asked me to take a seat and wait for my interview. She was extremely pleasant and helpful.   At 9 am my name was called, I went in and was greeted by another officer (American), he had a couple questions for me, how we met? when we got engaged? a couple other things. It was a breeze   At 9:20 am i was out of the embassy with my approval letter!!!! I give my experience a 10, I believe once you are honest and organised, your experience will be just a great   Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!!   I hope our information can help other couples, please dont hesitate to ask us any questions.   Yipppeee!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Thanks God,..k1 visa approved...	It has been a long process in our k1 case.It took 4yrs since the k1 petition filed 12/2010,got petition approved 6/9/2011,finally we got visa approved 1/21/2014 ..lol,i guess we got the longest waiting period in the K1 visa ...above all thanks God and  thanks also to vj,it has been a helpful tool for us.    I just had my interview yesterday & I want to share my experience for some reason it may help others to be confident & be prepared.           January 21,2014,tuesday..the appointment letter i presented  is an e-mail reply from manila US embassy,because of my medical due date,we asked for expidited interview which indicates that i can go walk in at embassy check in counter at any day from monday to thursday 7:30am-10:30am for my interview  ounce i have completed all my documents & medical.I updated  first my medical last jan.16,2014 then headed for interview.       I went to embassy Monday, its holiday,my fiance & I didnt knew  that day is martin luther's day in the US.Was glad i got a friend residents in manila who put me up for a night..Then i came back tuesday,arrived 6:30am.There's somebody outside who could take care your things & gadgets but you have to pay them & i got annoyed because they asked too much,P400 for my 2 gadgets,no way ,lol.I told to a woman that i can afford only P200,she agreed but i think it is still too much,anyway wether i like it or not i have to leave my gadgets to them..      At the front gate,theres a line for IV(k1 included),NIV,ACS,& sea fearers.they asked the passport & they get ds-160 here & they mark on appointment letter & gave me ziplock for the passport before entering the entrance building,once you got in,your things were put in machine scan as part of their security check up,then take the exit door going to another lane.In front are 3 windows either which you may proceed,show your passport & appointment letter here to give you ticket number for the queue board that you will  look out later,my # was 6141.I was instructed to give my appointment letter at window 39 inside the next building..then my waiting turns started...     1st @ window 41- finger prints & biographic details.     2nd @ window 48- filipino consule screening,she took the documents such as NBI,BC,CENOMAR,VISA Receipt,I-134.then she looked our photos & tried to read some chats history from folder i showed her,lol....she also asked some details, name,address of my fiance,my  phone#,age,bday & email add,although they already have these,theyre still checking it.Then she also asked questions like,when & how we met,how many times he visited me& why,prior marriage of both parties...lol,her voice is a little high pitch,she sounded like a strict person.     3rd @window 59- american consule interview,upon arriving in front of window & seeing her face,my nervous was gone because she looks nice person.I smiled at her first & greeted her good morning. im surprised ,several questions being asked,were not those what we really expected,first question was,is he drinking alcohol?lol,i said no,he dont drink hard liquour,only light beer,.many questions had followed & i was able to answer it all by heart until she took a look at  the ITR 2012 & said   this is low,i wanna see 2013 income,then i grab my folder,& i gave Tim's employers letter & checks stubs,then she got satisfied and said ok,this is good,she asked me whats his job.then i replied and  mentioned also the date he got hired & month he got permanent,she nodded and then said ok..after shes done writing,i anticipated shell be asking me some questions again but finally she said this with smile,"im going to approved your visa",.you may take a seat now & you'll be call back..then i said,thank you ma'am.., my heart jump  with joy while walking back to the waiting area seats..     4th @ window 71..rechecking of documents,the guy only asked me if  i took 2nd medical,i said it was just updated.. then he told me to fill out a delivery form slip and submit it at window 69 ..im done@ around 1:30pm...     I could totally feels now the real feeling after being approved,there are some pressures & stress but trust,believing & preparedness is 100%      Not sure if you did this yet but this should actually be posted in the Philippines Embassy Review section.  Congrats! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Visa Approval!	We got approval today!  It was an easy one and the consular officer was really nice. He asked me a few questions regarding my relationship with my fiance. If you have a real genuinely relationship you can passed the interview as well. The funny part was, the consular officer was talking to the other guy in front of me and probably he did not know that I could hear their conversation.  before he interviewed me. (there is a glass window between me and these consular officers) .   He talked to the guy that our case was straight forward and don't have complicated things (we've been together for over 5 years, both of us have never been married before, and he is in the military). I think he taught the guy for his job, probably a new guy. He also mentioned about my job. He told the guy that I have a great job as a journalist (an editor) in my country and not some kind person who just wants come to the US.   The best part when he asked me," when the last time I saw my fiance and I replied back, just a moment ago. He is in waiting room now". After he told me I have got approved, he asked me to ask my fiance came in to share the good news. He said to my fiance," thank you for serving the country, Sir". That was one of the best moments at the interview. I cried and hugged my fiance in front of the consular officers, . He asked me to pick up my passport with the visa on January 24.   I will posted the review later on Indonesia consulate portal. I just wanted to enjoy time together with my fiance and have some relax. Thank you Visa Journey, Vjers, and all people who helped my fiance and I through this journey.     Yeeehaaaawwww, congrats!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Is this true??	I still can't believe it!!!! We sent the first package at the end of December, 2013 (the 19th or 20th, I think it was) knowing it'd take a while to get to Texas with the holidays. It did take a while but we still got the first notification by e-mail and text January 3rd. We settled to wait for months and months but I just got an e-mail from USCIS (I signed up for the check status mailing list) saying that it's been approved!!!!!! It's only January 28th!!!!! Is this true??? I won't believe it until my fiance gets the envelope. It was sent yesterday, the 27th, so it should take at least a week or so (he lives in Illinois) He's sleeping (it's 2 am there and we talked last night and he hadn't gotten anything or he'd have told me) That's another thing that is weird... They send them at night, Texas time? Wow... I thought it'd be at least 3 months or 4 months!! Now I'm all scared I won't have time to do everything... :-P I'd better look at the VJ guides again. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	g325a address for last five years	Hi there again it seems as though we hit a snag my us fiancee has forgotten one of the addresses she lived at after moving out of her parents and we are unsure of what to do how important is it that we get that address or can we get away with changing the dates to fit with the rest of the addresses and pretend she never lived at the forgotten address Many thanks   NEVER omit anything from any form.  Omission is the same as lying.  Lying could constitute visa fraud.  Hopefully she can get the address somehow.  Did she have any bank accounts of any kind?  If she did it is possible that the address could show up on a credit report.  Have her go to her bank and ask her banker to run a credit report for her.  Or a private detective could run a Lexis/Nexis report for a small fee I would think.  (That pretty much says everything about you since the beginning of time.)  A report like that even provides names/address and phone numbers of neighbors that lived nearby.  Kind of scary actually.  You will be surprised how much information anyone can get on you for a fee.  I hope this helps.   Good luck and God Bless	David & Zoila	Male	Philippines	2014-03-04 17:56:00

I was under the impression that it would be ready for pick up 2 days later like the trend I've been seeing. Does anyone know how long from ISSUED to visa in hand? WHY??	thank you..   the american consul was very nice. he made me laugh and feel at ease when i told him im really nervous.  so i should only count the business days? because people were saying i should also count weekends. (and yeah, i kind of check my status few hours apart. lol)   ive had my CFO before i had my interview   Dont forget you have to go back to CFO office and have them put their sticker in your passport before you leave. I asked the consul if i was approved or denied, he said "congratulations you are approved.. you can take a sit and wait for your number to be called." when i went home, i checked my visa status (yes, i was that excited)it says "READY, your case is open.. check after 2 days.. so i waited.. but still no changes. it's been like what, more than 10 days but still no changes on my visa status when i checked at ceac. most of the other ladies i had the same interview date with either got their passport on hand or got an AP status. I wasnt under 221g so i dont understand why it's taking them so long to make a decision about my case.. it's starting to get me worried if there is something wrong with my papers or something.. is this normal? how long do i still have to wait for my status to change from ready to issued.    It's been only 6 working days.  It took us 7 or 8 working days before we could pick up the packet at 2Go at MOA.  Sometimes it takes longer.   God Bless	David & Zoila	Male	Philippines	2014-03-10 11:56:00

It's been 1yr plus since I filed for a K1 visa and 2 months plus since my fiance had his interview, he finally has his visa in hand!! Thanks to the Most High for giving me patience and all that was needed to get through this process. We have more to go but we're over the first hurdle. You stated that if the OP did not hand-write a letter then they have no one to blame but themselves. You then went on to talk about how many pages you and your wife had handwritten and told the OP that if they did not send these letters then not to blame the USCIS. You did not merely state how you and your wife approached the letters of intent. You made it sound like the OP needed to send in handwritten, lengthy letters to be approved, and I was obviously not the only one to read it that way. I was merely posting to clear up any confusion it might cause the OP or anyone else reading your post. You are more than free to send in lengthy, handwritten letters of intent. They are just not a requirement, that is all.     Yes, and there's such a thing as overkill. One should submit only what is asked for.  Not pages and pages of dramatic love stories. I don't know if he sent the letters of intent or not.  But he says he did.  And he says the RFE wasn't asking for those but that it was asking for the date on which the planned to get married. Should we not just take him at his word?     I hope this is nothing new. I've never heard of an RFE for the specific wedding date. Such an RFE would make 0 sense considering the smart ones don't set a date until after they receive the Visa.     OP also stated that his RFE is a K-1 visa rejection. Should we take him at his words? Or pose questions to get answers so we can determine what the situation may be so we can give them answers? People do not always correctly identify their situations. An RFE is not a K-1 visa rejection.  Yeah there is information missing here for sure.  It just doesn't make sense that they would be told to provide the intended date of the wedding.  And an RFE is not a rejection.  My bet is his attorney is a lying sack of s*^^ and they neglected to include the  intent to marry letters. Philippines	No company letterhead?	what is your basis for this? are there any other options given that the company DOES NOT HAVE a letterhead or a logo?    Anyone on the planet could type up a letter on blank paper.  Of course anyone on the planet could also make up a bogus letterhead in 5 or 10 minutes on line and create a letter on that.  Perhapos your spouses employer could just make up a letterhead.  It's really easy.  Ay least it shows some form of professionalism, I hope.  They don't need a logo.  Just go on line there are tons of free backgrounds for all kinds of purposes. So as i've posted before, my fiance just started a new job in which he makes more than the poverty guideline (He was a student before(2012)and stayed with me for 3 months (2013) so he did not make enough on his w2 and tax returns for the last year and 2012). His boss signed the employment letter stating his average income (with overtime, he works 50 hours a week)  and that he will be getting raises within the next months, however, the company does not have a letter head or a logo , is this fine? Philippines	Purchasing Air Ticket for Fiance to USA before she has her Visa?	with that type of spread, march to april, i think you have a good chance of getting them on the plane, barring any problems with the medical exam or CFO silliness.   but still, it's a chance, not 100 percent.        CFO silliness...that's for sure!  That was the biggest beaurocratic cluster-f*^K I have ever seen in my entire life.  My wife had to go back and forth like 3 times just to take complete the class. I just know it was included as a change in one of the immigration reform bills. Knowing Washington, they may never get an immigration bill passed so it could be a mute point.  Also no idea if it would be retroactive to all past K-1s or just new K-1s. But K-1s not filing to adjust status apparently is on someone's radar or it wouldn't be in a bill.   I'll tell you how they would enforce it.  If you brought your fiance to the US legally and filed for AOS 6 months and 1 day later you would be denied and your spouse would be forced to leave the country.  Of course all of the illegals that are already here are going to be given amnesty and just be forgiven for their illegal entry/overstay, etc... Philippines	Niblet just got hitched to his Pinay!!	when at the deportation hearing, O Niblet - the judge will ask - 'Do you intend to file the AOS on your wife?' and if the answer is yes, then her overstay gets forgiven, automagically, when the green card is issued. This forgiveness is normal, not need to have any deportation hearing about it. Of course, I write about the 'end game', what happens after going into ICE Custody, there's lots of stuff that could happen, several different paths, prior. So, would she be deportable after the I-94 expires? Yes, technically. However, at the deportation hearing, the two of you are given one more chance, one more stab at filing the AOS, by a judge. IMO, although she's deemed deportable, the immigration judge won't issue the deportation order, as she has a legal path to adjusting her status. -- More fun should ensue, though, this thread needs 3 or 4 more pages of drivel, IMO. Any photos of yer truck? post those, we can fork a bit.   Yeah niblet, we are waiting for 8x10 photos of your truck. Well I have to pay 1,000.00 to get my tooth fixed, then its 1,000.00 for Harley insurance, then scrape up 1,000.00 for the green card then 1,000.00 to get the driving license,,,,,,, all next month,,,,anyone want to donate to the "Niblet fund"?   I think you should add a set of breast implants(for yourself) to your list before you waste the money on a silly old green card. Actually I had no earthly idea the AOS cost so much,,what a complete rip off,,, it should be free,, 2.)
