K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI129F NAO1 recieved 21MAY2008 and still no NAO2
My NAO1 is February 4th. I have not got NAO2 yet.
By the way, what does "touch" mean? I see people use it here often. Does it mean when the officer evaluates your case?
Thanks
[/quote]

I am in the same situation to you before I don't know what touch mean until I ask to our fellow VJ and this what the answer

Firstly have you logged in to the CRIS site USCIS CRIS Login or are you just viewing the detail from the USCIS CRIS Site .

Because if you haven't logged in (you need to register first) you won't see 'touches' just actions.

But secondly many people don't receive a 'touch' while they are going through the process. We have had one 'touch' but it can be directly related to my update of address here in the UK back on May 19. But nothing since. Don't worry too much about 'touches'.

If you have a case number. Just Register and Log In and you will know if your case is touch if there is a change of date it means your case is touch, I hope it help,

Still continuing a slightly better approval rate.

As an aside, I said in my last post that I was starting my 4th waiting month... I meant 5th. Sigh. And it is still sobering to see the number still waiting before me. C'mon VSC...

Trinner, I can't for the life of me understand what the process might be like at VSC to see people getting approved in less than a months time while you, and others, sit waiting. Have you called anyone for assistance yet? I hope it comes soon.

fyi... I checked out a bunch of the timelines on your list. Many of those people have been approved but have not updated their timelines and some have just fallen off the face of the earth, well VJ anyway. wink.gif

Charlene, you would think after all the troubles THEY have caused throught your process they'd just hand you guys the visa! Is it even possible to use another Embassy in Canada that might be quicker? I'm so sorry for your troubles.

Lora, still keeping my fingers crossed!

6 weeks from Tuesday we can send our petition! I bet it sounds funny to all of you waiting for your NOA2's or interviews but we have waited for this decree for years and to us it's like Christmas!!! laughing.gif

So VSC - did I mention how nice you look today??
laughing.gif

Well when I first started coming here last year it was taking a good 6-8 months for NOA2's...and those were the lucky ones! Now i'm seeing tons of people from VSC getting them in under a month which gives us MUCH hope since we can't even file until April. Yet, there are still those of you waiting all these months. I don't get it. No rhyme or reason it seems. I understand your averages based on the timelines here but there certainly seems to be very little consistency.

We were planning a trip for me to NZ in June assuming the process was going to take at least the summer but now we just dont know what to do.

I'm sure your time is coming very soon. smile.gif

Mel and Syl... congratulations!!! smile.gif

Lora, I understand. It's just 'one more thing' after so many 'one more things'! Finally getting your NO2 only to have to face this seems so unfair. Your time will come and you will be that much better because of all of this. I'll probably see the fireworks here in MA when Oscar finally arrives home! wink.gif

Russell and I have known each other for 10 years now. For the last 3 years all we've wanted is to be together but it seems it's one thing after another keeping us apart. As you know, I can't even file until April. But i'm trying really hard to keep my focus on the positive... time has flown since I first found you all, the process is really speeding up at the VSC and hopefully he'll be approved before the end of summer.

I realize your patience must be exhausted by now but the hard truth is the two of you have a strong enough love to have endured this painful process. That is a blessing and a true gift...the best life has to offer!

Would that be the same huskerkiev thread that I have had linked in my signature for 6 months? whistling.gif

Actually I am glad you brought it to people's attention again. That thread should be required reading for everyone. good.gif

Lora, how are you? Forgive my ignorance..or laziness for not surfing to find the info...but have you heard from Peru yet??? Any more news for you???

When I started coming here to VJ in September so many people had already been waiting so long. Some of those same people are STILL waiting 5 months later while others are being approved in 60 days. Not to begrudge anyone else's approval because I certainly am happy for those couples and can only dream of a 60 day approval, but it really does seem so unfair and it makes you wonder what exactly is going on over there!

Thank you trinner, it certainly is helpful...and hopeful...to have the stats!

Looks like your turn is right around the corner! Much luck to you!

I think you may have magic powers... RIGHT after I read this message from you, I went to check the USCIS website (like I do a bazillion times a week)... and OMG OMG OMG it showed a touch on 2/17!! (The first update I've seen since sending it in.)

I'm hoping that this means that my approval is coming in the next few days...

It has been over 5 months since I've held my love... this process is cruel.

FASTER journey to us all...

trinner...i'm not superstitious BUT i'm replying again with the hopes that it brings you more luck! I can't even file until April so i'm living vicariously through all of you until then! laughing.gif

I don't want to get your hopes up (although what more do we have than hope?) but the more recent approvals all seemed to have been touched (scanned) right before their NOA2's. I wish the same for you and everyone else who has been waiting!

It's nice seeing the process moving faster now with people getting their NOA2's in 2-4 months but it's unfathomable to know that there are still others who have been waiting so much longer. It's just criminal and something should be done.

I suppose the fact that this thread is 'dying' is good news really. wink.gif Perhaps i'll post my question in a new thread. I realize nobody can offer a definitive answer and that there are others waiting longer than 4 months still but if the progress in the past couple months is any indication we can be approved a lot sooner than we thought. Funny how just knowing that helps keep my head above water.

I too feel for those left. There is no excuse for it.

Do keep in touch! I know you'll be sick of coming here once Oscar is home with you but I look forward to the day I can share my elation with you! ....May sounds good! laughing.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting on the VSC to make a decision?
Hello everyone.

CONGRATULATIONS LORA!!! ...and all others approved this month! I didn't check the site for almost a month and the first thing I did when I logged on from home was to see if you and all others who have been waiting had any good news. It made my heart leap to see that finally so many of you are on your way to starting your new lives with your love! Congratulations. I know there are a few of you left waiting... I wish I had words but there are simply none left. I do pray this ridiculous process is a distant memory for all of you very soon.

I'm just back from three glorious weeks with my love in NZ! Such a long, expensive trip but the memories...not to mention holding on to my sanity... are so worth it. smile.gif My mother joined me on this trip so that she could meet Russ's family...and we learned that they will be flying here for our wedding! We will file on April 11th (the very day I have my divorce decree) and were contemplating another trip in May/June but by the looks of the VSC we could be approved in as little as 3 months now and the NZ consulate is good at cranking out those packets and expediting the interviews so we may just save the money. R/T tickets to NZ are $2,000+ depending on the season, not to mention the 20+ hours of flying and arrangments for my children... so it's a big decision. Any of you statistical junkies have an opinion on this?? Looking back in time (before the influx of petitions) being approved in just a couple of months was common. Do you all think that trend is going to continue now that it seems they're finally catching up? I'm just really interested in the opinions of the experts here at vj.

Anyway...congratulations again to all of you!

I dont know if I will get in trouble for saying this, but with the way that VSC is processing petitions right now, I would consider filing RIGHT NOW!!!! Leave your divorce decree out and you will get an RFE. If you send your petition now, it will probably be mid May before they look at it, you would have the RFE by the end of May and probably be approved by the end of June. If you wait until April, it will be probably mid August before your approval. You will save 2 months on the process from now, even with the RFE.

Busted, Bobalouie. smile.gif

According to the post, her divorce will be FINAL in April. You cannot file an I-129F unless you are free to marry at the time of filing. It's a horrible requirement, but basically it means that she would receive the RFE, she'd send in her decree, and then they'd see that she was not free to marry at the time of filing and reject her petition. $455 out the window. Unfortunately she's going to have to wait until April. Unless I read it wrong.

Damn, I thought I was better than that at being devious devil.gif

Thanks for your comments ...and devious ideas! laughing.gif We did contemplate taking the chance and sending it in early BUT decided we best stick to the rules and just wait it out for the very reason stated. Our time will come.

Congratulations Mirla! Now lets move it along for the rest of you waiting.....

We gotta get the VSC cleared out by April! tongue.gif

Congratulations to all recent approvals and visas! good.gif

Faith, I am so happy you are being moved along and wish for you a speedy consulate process!
Lora, I think of you every day. Stay strong. It's coming.

I first posted here at visa journey back in September when my SO was denied entry back into the US on the VWP. It was many of you who answered my questions and set us on the path that we're on now. The waiting. sad.gif Thank you all again for taking the time to answer a newbie's questions during a very difficult time. Since then I have come back every day to check on the progress of your petitions as I educate myself on the process. For some reason I felt drawn to your previous VSC thread and have followed this one since it's start.

As it stands now, Russell has been back in New Zealand for 4 months. I finally (after more than 2 years) had my court date for my divorce in December and we will be able to file for our K1 in April when it's final. Yes, I will be overnighting to VSC the very day I receive my decree! wink.gif Things are moving along for us but it will be some time before Russell can come back home. Happily, I am travelling to NZ a week from Monday to spend 3 weeks with my love. My mother (whom the tickets were a gift from) will be joining me so that she can meet his family and see the BEAUTIFUL country he is from. I cant wait!

I am utterly disgusted by this entire process and my heart goes out to each and every one of you still waiting to be with the one you love. I'm sure you feel for anyone that has to endure this but it certainly can not be easy to watch as others who filed so much later be approved.

The real reason I posted.... selfishly, I want to thank you for being such a strong voice in this process and working so hard to make the changes because I am one of those people who will be filing in the months to come and I am hoping beyond hope that the VSC straightens up before then! If there is anything us lurkers can do for any one of you waiting please feel free to ask.

My best to each of you. I'll be watching. wink.gif

Your Horoscope for DECEMBER 09, 2007

You are on the brink of something fantastic, Lora, so just hang in there a little bit longer. It could be that you feel like the little train engine who is slowly working her way up the mountain. Perhaps you have made compromises and sacrifices along the way in order to get where you are. Just keep going. Pretty soon you will top the crest, and the rest of the journey will be all downhill. The tremendous work you have put in will pay off generously.

Welcome home Lora, I do hope you are feeling better.

Hi Welcome to VJ...

Checking the timelines here will give you an idea of the process. Also, Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 9, 2008 and August 14, 2008*. <--- that is in your timeline and should give you a pretty good idea.

I'm not sure if the uscis still expedites petitions with Cuban beneficiaries due to Carta Blanca but you will do yourself well to check your portal (see link at the top) to find others who have gone through Cuba to find out.

good luck to you

Hi Ani,

Not sure why you can't get online updates on your case. Are you using the WAC # from the back of the check/NOA1?

Just so you are aware, you are posting your questions in the fiance forum. You probably want to visit one of the spousal threads for better advice... you can find it here.
KimandRussFemaleNew Zealand2008-06-29 10:07:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsno NOA1 yet
Did you send it return receipt requested? Did you use a personal check? If they have cashed your check then they have received your file. You can get your EAC number from the back of the check and login to the uscis.gov website to track your petition.

As William said, it's still early in the game so no need to worry just yet. Vermont seems to be taking it's time with this step these days.

congratulations on getting started and wishing you patience for the process.

It takes a real strong individual to come back and say that, Jon. I admire and respect that trait.

My heart goes out to all of those that have to wait to be with the one person that brings them true joy and love.

If there was any kind of excuse for CSC sucing the way they do then maybe it would be easier... but years of disparity... when people pay the same price for this 'service' is just inexcusable. I too would be quite infuriated with the CSC at this point... I imagine that for a soldier who served this great country, I might be even more disappointed.

We pride ourselves on having a voice here in the U.S. but because immigration doesn't really effect the masses (yet) there isn't a loud enough voice. As I stated, I mailed my representatives last year regarding this and I hope everyone else has done the same whether you're with VSC or CSC.... wrong is wrong.

The system, the year long security checks, the Consulates in which you're guilty until proven innocent. While I understand all of this was born out of the need to prevent fraud and for security.... and respect that... there is so much that needs to change. The 'good guys' , the ones doing this for all the right reasons, are the ones suffering most.

Best wishes to all of you waiting so long to get on to the next step.

Maybe you are not complaining but my comments were for those who are. wink.gif
The first response to this thread was blatantly rude to the OP and that is just uncalled for.

Maybe you should look at the OP's timeline in their signature. They filed May27, I don't think a 30 day wait warrants complaining about VSC being " soooooooo slow". I can complain, because today is 141 days for us. Thats more than you and the OP COMBINED!!!
If you think it was rude, too bad, I'm entitled to my opinion. Some of us here bled to protect the first amendment. DID YOU???

And therein lies my argument. You are not the authority on who gets to complain and who does not. Even when you use your service to our country as an excuse to be rude to other people.

You can judge mine, and others, timelines as much as you want but you know nothing about me. Do you think i've been here so long because I enjoy arrogant remarks about other people's timelines??? Think again... i've been waiting for years (probably longer than you've even known your fiance) so pardon me while I borrow your tissue box and wipe away the 'poor me's' falling my eyes.

And to answer your question... no, I did not CHOOSE to enlist in the armed forces but every man in my family is a vetran of war and my uncle now serves as supervisor to the U.S. Marhshall's in Washington, D.C. I, however, don't believe that allows me, or anyone else, special priveledges as you obviously do.

This is an OLD argument.. if you'd really been here any length of time then you would know this. Yes, the disparity is unfair, we all know that...it's been discussed time and again. But your anger with the California Service Center does not give you the right to judge or be rude to another human being.

This is a website for knowledge and support during what is, for most of us, a very difficult time. Why some others feel this need to make it that much harder for people for no good reason is beyond me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSome VSC K1 information FYI
In January, VSC was approving petitions in a month's time. Over 90 days is sometimes a hard pill to swallow for those of us who expected to wait less. Sure, it's unfair... but CSC being slower doesn't give us less reason to gripe about the time it's taking to get to our loved ones. That is not VSC's ...or OUR... fault.

Just for the record... I contacted my representatives way before we even filed to make sure those who represent me were aware of the disparity between the two centers... even though i'm filing at VCS. You want to complain...do it through your representatives because I can tell you, we've been through all of this here at VJ and it does no good for anybody.

While I understand the frustration, I think it's totally unfair to be rude to other posters because of their own frustration with the process... no matter where they filed or how long they have to wait.

Just when I was feeling badly about all the years we had to wait just to get to the point of filing, I find a couple who have been together for more than a decade (a little longer than us) ...living on opposite sides of the earth all that time unable to file.... I find another married couple who haven't even seen each other in almost two years. Then there's our lovely sara who has been stuck in CIS hell for almost a year now...yet, somehow always offering a supportive word and her congratulations to EVERYONE here. Hers is the example I choose to live by. It makes this process a whole hell of a lot easier.

My point is... we don't know the 'whole' story. We haven't walked in each other's shoes and this is a place for support. Not for bitter words because some of us have to wait longer than others.

My heart goes out to anyone who has to go even a day without their loved ones by their side. I feel like i've been waiting a year just to breathe again... but my pain is no more important than anyone else's

good luck to ALL

I don't begrude those January filers who were approved in less than a month... not even when they complained about it! And I don't believe most of the CSC filers begrudge anyone else for being lucky enough to get through this part of the process a little faster.
