K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsany advice about NOA1 if when we can have it????
I'd give it another week perhaps and then call. Not too long ago it was quite common for VSC to be taking it's time cashing checks and issuing NOA1's so this could very well be the case with CSC now. Look in the September filers thread for CSC (if there is one) to see if that's what's happening now.

It's a little early to freak out but keep in mind that there have been cases here where people have confirmed delivery but VSC lost it. If this is the case, they are suppose to honor the first sent date (lots of ppl dont know that but it's listed on the uscis expedite criteria) so... if you need to send it again... be sure you include a copy of the confirmation of delivery, note this on the petition and request an expedite for USCIS error. wink.gif

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsany advice about NOA1 if when we can have it????
As pay suggested above you need to find out if they cashed your check. If so, then they have it and you need not worry. On the back just under the signature line usually, you will see a WAC085XXXXXXX number. Register that number on the USCIS.gov website and you can track it from there. Hopefully he'll get the NOA1 hardcopy (I-797) but if not, it's not a big deal to have the "1" hardcopy. You will definitely need the NOA2 (also called I-797) for AOS.

Since you have confirmed delivery, I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. VSC seems to be sending them sporadically as of late. Just check to see if they've cashed the check. You can also call uscis and try to talk to someone to find out.

good luck.
welcome to the wait. wink.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril NOA1 and still waiting???
Until the dates change on the USCIS website calling everybody will do nothing....well, except to possibly serve to frustrate you more. Sorry. sad.gif

Historically CSC (and all other centers who used to process K1's) have always taken longer than VSC. It appears they are getting back to that now as VCS is cranking them out again and CSC is starting to drag...again.

This time in the waiting game is always the very hardest. I hope you hear something soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes a fast NOA2 approval mean a slow NVC receipt?
Just answered the other thread. K1's are not entered in the automated system at NVC. You need to talk to a human. I believe it's 1 and then 5 to get there...best to call very early morning or late at night.

Congratulations CSC filers! Great to finally see them getting to at least some of the backlog! Now how about these Sept/Oct filers???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHOLIDAYS!!!
Like everything else in this process ... it's a ####### shoot!

This is the first Holiday season that just the two centers (VSC and CSC) have been processing the K1's without the backlog that was caused last year so it's anyone's guess really.
KimandRussFemaleNew Zealand2008-10-08 15:39:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsANYONE WAITING?
Unfortunately, very common with CSC. Not sure why but we see it a lot that CSC approved files can take some time to get to NVC. Sometimes it's an admitted error on their part and sometimes just lost in limbo somewhere. Do a search on the boards and you will find many people with similar circumstances. Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFound we were approved from the NVC
Yeah, it's specific to London actually and fairly new. I've seen three couples now be questioned about that particular question in London and although two made it through without too much hassle, one was left to get a new affidavit. sad.gif Graham and Meagan in our April VSC thread had the problem first and then others followed. I think it's sunnybear (Jan CSC filer) that mentioned she was having two done so that it does not create a problem or delay at the interview. The topic has been discussed in both of those threads and i'm quite sure the London Regional folks are talking about it too.

About the letters from the NVC. They are what everyone is suppose to receive... one to tell you that they've got it and will send it out within a week (usually within days) and one to tell you that they have sent it (it's usually at the USEM by then as it only takes 2-3 days to get there. Well, in our case we were held up in security checks for 3 weeks at NVC and in that time I received two letters stating they had it and were going to send it out. Never received a letter stating they did send it out. I called a couple of times a week until they told me when it was sent out. wink.gif

In any case, it's been a while now so it's likely your man can call DOS ((202) 663-1225 Press 1, then Press 0) instead and they can tell him if/when it arrived at the Embassy.
KimandRussFemaleNew Zealand2008-10-08 15:33:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFound we were approved from the NVC
btw... it's very likely your approved petition is already in London. You will need to download the packet 3/information packet and send it back to them. Nich-Nick can help you with that if you PM her. smile.gif

You will also want to perhaps have him prepare two notarized affidavit of supports (I-134) for the interview as it seems some CO's in London are having a problem with the way Q.11 (at least I think it's Q.11) is answered on the forms and request different answers. I'm sure you can find more about it in the regional boards.

good luck! I'm glad your time has finally come!

The NOA2 (I-797) comes just like the NOA1. Department of Homeland Security I think it says.

Not sure how you'll get a copy of the approval notice if he didn't get it. Perhaps an infopass appointment.

Hannah, it happens very often that CSC does not update their automated system but I have no clue why he didn't get the I-797 (noa2) hardcopy before the letter from the NVC. I've not heard of that.

You will need a hard copy of the I-797 to file at adjustment so you should work on getting that. Is he sure it wasn't missed in the mail?

In any case, it's great news all around...congratulations!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHelp MAY CSC K1 TOUCHED REQUESTING MORE EVIDENCE?
Here is the link to the RFE thread.

Your RFE could be for anything but if you included proof of having met, proof of divorce...etc... then one of the most common RFE's i've seen in the time i've been here is on the I-129f Part C. Q2. Because Part C pertains to military question it seems people assume they do not need to check a box for Q2 but you actually do need to check it (see example forms).

In any case, it usually doesn't hold you up too long. Just get it back asap!

When we were waiting I researched the first 20 on the list several times (we waited a year) and they all were either no longer active or had been approved and did not update their timelines. This fluctuated all the time but it was always pretty constant that the first 20 or so were 'bad'. Unless you want to go through each one and contact them (if you're as neurotic as me blink.gif ), there really is no way of telling. Perspective is important right now. wink.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI'm confused about something... can you help?
When they say 'processed in the ordered received' it's important to remember that even if you sent your petition two weeks earlier you may have the same NOA1 date as someone who sent theirs two weeks later. wink.gif The ones received earlier will be separated from payment and processed sooner even if you have the same NOA1 date as someone who sent later.

What it comes down to is that it really doesn't really matter where you post.... you should join in where you feel most comfortable.

It seems some CO's in London are requiring the 'other' answer. This is the 3rd time in the past couple of months i've seen this. Two have got through with the standard answers we all put but it seems John was not. sad.gif You probably want to contact the Embassy and explain the discrepencies and ask specifically what you should have her do. Make sure you have a copy of the response at the interview.

If it were me, I would surely alert the Embassy as to the discrepencies we've noted here on VJ and ask what the appropriate answer would be so that this does not happen to anyone else.

As an alternative, you could have her make two notorized copies. wink.gif

thank you my March friends. Looking forward to the next step with you folks. smile.gif

Alina... size 3 finger??? You're just a wee bit of a thing, eh? Somehow I can't see you 4-wheeling and shooting a gun. laughing.gif Congrats on getting your rings.

Nich...already responded in April thread but welcome home..again. Will be thinking of you on Sunday. smile.gif

Sorry about your issues with London, John. It seems there are CO's in London now requiring that question be answered differently. How I wish the standards set were the same for all. It's just unfair. I hope it doesn't hold you up for long.

We will be married two weeks from tomorrow. Just ordered our rings which will be in just in time. This was supposed to be a small ceremony but it's turned into an event with about 100 or so people. Quite alright as it's still going to be just an informal event. Our ceremony in April will be quite the bash. wink.gif

Good morning March... MY MAN IS HOME!!!! Russell arrived last Wednesday night and not without big time drama! First, when he arrived at the airport and tried to check-in he learned that he had booked the wrong day and already missed that flight so.... $1800 later... he got on the same flight out. Once in L.A. he went through immigration who notified him that he was still on the 'watch list' for having been denied entry last year. He had a short layover but needed to wait while they cleared that up.... he then sprinted to the domestic terminal and found his connecting flight had already boarded and shut their doors. After some begging and pleading with staff, they finally opened the doors and let him on the flight home. We spent the next three days alone together and have been back home now just two days. It's been a whirlwind of emotion and excitement and we are both very happy to be back together again! smile.gif

Congrats again Bex... waiting on those pics!

Raff, let us know how your call goes today.

Mama Nich, have a safe trip home tomorrow! It is the wisest of us who find perspective in the most trying times. It will be what it was meant to be and it will be all that more special because of the way it happened. wink.gif Please share some photos with us of your special day this weekend. I will be thinking of you and your special man. Congratulations dear lady.

I hope everyone else is acclimating themselves well to their new lives. Even tho it's been hell, we almost feel as tho the past year never happened. It's as tho we've been together the entire time. I suppose that says much about 'us'. smile.gif

mama nich, i replied to your thread in AOS. Us Apriler's have been trying to decide where we're going to go so that seems the perfect spot to me! wink.gif

Alina, thank you so much sweetheart. smile.gif I can just imagine how much you are missing home and i'm sorry for that. sad.gif I know it would be very hard for me to leave as well. I think that like with all kinds of change, there is a process which you must go through to 'adjust'.

If I may impose a little wisdom on you.... as you may know, Russell already 'moved' here for over a year in 2006. He became acclimated very quickly even though his whole family is in NZ and AUS. Because he was forced to leave and go back to NZ, he sees clearly that this has now become his home. I'm sure that took some time. Hopefully the same will happen for you. smile.gif

The world is surely not as big as it seems... we are all perfect examples of that.

many happy wishes to everyone!
