K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filing in March	Awww Bex i'm sorry you're having such disagreement about this. This is one of the things I hate most about the big to-do's. My first marriage was huge... hundreds of people... 20+ member wedding party. Very expensive dress....reception... the works. My family came from Italy and all settled here and they're all still here! I live in a community full of many of the same kinds of people... good people. Anyway, It was a lovely day and we did enjoy it, but by the time it rolled around I was more stressed worrying if this or that was right and losing sight of the real reason we were there in the first place. I'm lucky in that Russell has already lived here for quite some time and that he is already a part of all of our lives here in the U.S. Everyone is waiting for him to come home. Russell doesn't want a big to-do and we had planned an intimate and romantic ceremony BUT we learned in January that his family is wanting to travel from NZ to see us married so now we're facing a similar dilema. We do want to celebrate with all the wonderful people around us and I would love for his family to live in our world for a time and see how happy, loved and well cared for Russell is here... but in our own time and on our own terms. Right now Russell is trying to convince his family that we want to keep it low key right now and that we'll have a bigger 'to-do' next year and they can all fly up and spend as long as they like. It would be great to see them but we both think it's just to much to do, pay for and worry about right after his arrival. All that being said... there is going to be compromise and sacrafice all of your days. How important is it to him? Perhaps he comes from a world like I live in and he knows that not only is this the start of a new life for the two of you...but also in the lives of all those he holds dear...and you...the one he loves most. Yes, it's your wedding day...but in the end, and well after its over... it's still just a day. If it makes him that happy... it will make you happy and that compromise will pay itself back tenfold. You will see it as the day you not only joined hands but also the day you joined his/your new world. Now matter how it goes for us... if it's important enough for his family to be there ...then they will be there because although our vows will be special no matter what....the day we will really celebrate for the rest of our lives is the day that he finally comes home to me. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filing in March	Aww tuty, i'm so sorry you have even more to deal with I can certainly understand that right now you feel in limbo and to lose your job on top of everything else sux but, well, it is what it is... take it as an opportunity to try something new... have some fun while you're waiting and do something out of the ordinary. You'll be leaving soon enough anyway! When one door closes..... another opens. Let this be your avenue for a little fun.. a little change will do you good and it will help this ridiculous wait you have! I'm sorry that you dont feel as though your SO is struggling in the same ways ...that's tough. I really think that some people just 'worry' differently. It doesn't mean he loves you any less... it just means he handles it in a different way than you do. Even if you don't see it. Russell and I tend to take turns on the 'high road'... if i'm down he's up and visa versa. Tell him you'd be a lot happier if he'd just break something in frustration! Do something good for you. Take a walk...do some writing...find some perspective. Soon your life will change and everything that you want/need will be at your fingertips. Can't they test your blood for immunities and then base your shots on that? That's what others have done. It's wonderful your SO is coming for a visit... should make all of this much easier for you! I hope you have a wonderful time! csc has been doing a wonderful job pushing those applications out lately. I have a 16 year old daughter and an 11 y/o boy and I coached 35 teenage girls (competing cheerleaders) for many, many years so I think i've got the moody teen thing pretty much down. Wisdom and perspective can come at any age (i'm 38 btw ) ...it's just a choice. March approval? Haven't checked yet but oooooh how exciting for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed! I was with my ex for close to 20 years (high-school sweethearts) and we had a hefty savings that has since been depleted. Russell and I have been waiting many years to be together. In the past 3 years we've spent upwards of $60,000 just on travelling... he also left a 6 figure income in Australia two years ago to come here to be with me as much as he could while we awaited my divorce. I'm now having to refinance my home, which depreciated in value by about $60,000, to get it into my name alone. If there's one thing my life has taught me.. it's perspective. I am a woman who has buried a child, who's lost 200 pounds (10 years ago), lost my 'healthy' dad at just 51 and who has a missing brother.... it goes on but I think you get the picture. Money is nice...but LOVE is what makes the world go round! Don't waste another second worrying about it. Do what you need to do to be happy. The rest will fall into place. It's only failure when you let it be. I know your journey is longer but the prize is the same and I hope you keep the focus on the prize the whole way! Nich-Nick... TOTALLY agree with you! As soon as I walked out of the post office it was as though I was 20 pounds lighter and you could not wipe the smile off my face! I know it's a long road but oh to be on the way is just bliss! OP... you really do have a way to go. Not time to start worrying just yet. Some of these very fast approvals may very well be expedites (very rare) or I also read once that some of the newer files are sometimes picked up and used for training purposes. Who knows. Russell had his medical last week and made sure he got one... I guess there are some benefits to having had to wait so long to get to this point! Russell had his medical a week ago, the Embassy has our complete packet 3 and he has all he needs from me. We're just waiting on an interview date (which we will then expedite ). But, once again, the US has us waiting as our petition has yet to leave the NVC... a week and a half later! We're hoping they'll give us the date without it. We shall see. Lynda, you can also call DOS .....They can give your new case number, tell you if and when it left NVC and arrived at the Embassy. If you get that date then you can truly track it. ..they can also tell you if a package 3 was sent out and even if there's an interview scheduled. (202) 663-1225 Press 1, then Press 0. To track your petition to the Embassy using DHL you can use these instructions... For those of you curious go to http://track.dhl-usa...nav=TrackByRef Select 'track by reference' and enter EXP 15 AUG 2008A (or a day or two after you were approved) then underneath put the date range for either the day you know it left NVC or a couple days on either side. You will then see a list come up listing all packages that left NVC. Look for your Country and click on the reference number to get details.
