My guess is that they see Hospitality Management as a skill you can use in Brazil and that it falls under one of those categories. I think it's the "including, but not limited to..." that allows them to say you are still subject to the rule. So your passport says you are subject to the HRR rule and your paperwork and government state that you are not. Oui! I'd try contacting DOS again maybe including a copy of your paperwork and visa to see if they can help again since there is a discrepancy in your documents. At the very least, you know that if you have to file for the waiver that you could most likely get the 'no objection statement' from the consulate to make that happen and it shouldn't be too long a wait. Because I have no personal knowledge of this i'd advise you to talk to others who do. Ana&D would be a good start. I'm sure he/she wont mind you sending a pm. I also did a google search and found tons of links so I think it's time to put on your study cap! I was going over all the stats again last night and it still seems that 60 is about the average. They were talking in another thread about when you track your petition from NVC to USEM and how even tho their were only a few approvals here at VJ there were still 80+ going to the USEM so we must remember that even though it looks slow from our side...they could very well still be cruising! Fingers crossed! Graham, I wish I had more words of encouragmentment for you and Megan. I know it's heartwrenching....but I hope it will get a little easier to adjust as time passes ....but by then you'll probably be approved and ready to come home! At least you know she is in very good hands and surrounded by people who love her. Meagan, please feel free to jump in and join us anytime! We'll miss graham around here too. The day Russell comes back home and never has to leave my side again is a day we will celebrate for the rest of our lives....probably even more so than the day we are married. Distance may seperate you but you are still a couple and still very much in sync with each other.... him moving into an apartment sorta puts a damper on things i'm sure but try to remember, it's just temporary! When you miss him... write him, call him, text him.. whatever you do. Even if he's not able to get it right away I think you'll find that it will help you a great deal just to release those thoughts/feelings. When you're out... talk about him. Make him a part of what your'e doing. We're lucky in the respect that Russell was living here for so long that everyone around me is anxious for him to get back home too. It can be frustrating having to explain the process to everyone when they ask when he'll be home but I find that it makes me feel much closer to him and makes him a part of 'my day'. In any case, keep posting, keep talking and remember that you're on the down slope now!!! It's been a month since they've had it already.... wont be long now! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL '08 Vermont K-1 Filers	VSC has a long history of fast approvals...that being a few weeks from noa1 to noa2. The slow down last year really skewed the data and messed with people's expectations. Last September I expected we could wait up to 6 months for this part since we didn't know when they'd be caught up with the backlog. Many of last year's April filers were approved in a month. So in January when everyone started getting approved in a months time I thought they were just getting back to their norm. They seemed to be for a while but now it appears it's a little longer again, for whatever reason. All I know is that right now, looking at recent data, it's looking like approx. 60 days for an approval. They claim to go by received date and not noa1 date but there is no consistency for approvals with either number when looking at the data ....so, to me it looks like they throw all recently delivered files up into the air and hope they land in a box. The only think we know with any certainty... is that there is no certainty! I choose to remain cautiously optomistic and believe that it will be a mid-June approval for us. p.s. GO GET EM SAL!!! We had a wonderful visit but the goodbye at the airport was the absolute worse. I flew premium and the agent let Russell into the holding area for a final 'goodbye' because we were both crying so hard. 3 weeks out of the last 8 months we've been together...and this after sharing our days and nights...our everything...for so long. It's just not enough... it's never enough. I certainly have my moments but I make a conscious effort every day to try to keep a positive attitude. I know that's much harder to do when everything is so fresh ...where you are now, I suppose. But as time passes we take all we can get and we learn to adjust to the waiting again. This time knowing it wont be too much longer before the day comes that we will never have to part again. It will get easier. Very good family friends own a couple of great pubs in town and my mom works there now for fun (she retired in her early 50's) so about once or twice a week we hang out there with a large group of really great people. It's great fun! I think the standards vary greatly here in U.S. depending on where you are ... so if you're needing a sense of home cmon up to Boston and we'll hook ya up! I'm sure they're loads of work... don't know a kid that isn't! My kids are almost 16( g ) and 12 1/2( B ) now! How the time flies! I was with their dad for 20 years. Still care about him very much but he's not who I should be with either. Russell gets along very well with them and they miss him a lot too. We're both pretty good with graphics but he's better with components and hardware and i'm better with scripts and languages so we are a good match. He's really not a chatter but you'll find him posting here at times with 'our name' and he comes to browse all the time. Me, on the other hand, am a social butterfly! I've had my own forum with loads of members for 10 years so this is old hat for me! We met online 10 years ago so I guess we've had our share of chat programs and what-not. We mostly use msn now (skype takes over your pc too much imo..especially when your work is your pc!). Im going to set up a live streaming cam for him on my server so that he can log on and check the house out anytime he likes. He said it will make him feel closer. Honestly, I just can not wait until we're not checking emails and having to log on just to talk anymore. We had that for a year and a half when we lived together and it was just so hard going back when he got 'das boot'. I'm thinking once he's here I wont be getting any work done anymore! Just for the record, I really dont think anyone is bothered at all by your frustrations... everyone just has their own way of trying to help you to feel better about all of this. I'm quite sure those still waiting can appreciate your concerns and are happy to know they're not alone. That being said, maybe it would be better for you psychologically to put the focus somewhere else for a bit... at least until that darn approval comes through. BTW I dreamt you got your approval last night ! It was quite funny because I was with you (even tho I have no idea what you look like ) and you were just so relieved and happy ....and giggling at yourself and how frustrated you got with the process!
