The timelines here (for processing anyway) are so skewed beause of the influx of petitions last year. That slowed things down considerably for a few months.

Historically VSC has always been pretty quick and consistent in the amount of time it takes them and it seems to be that way regardless of the time of year. I'm hoping that they are now back to their 'old self' and that we're in for a speedy ride! wink.gif

Being allowed to withdraw your petition to enter the US should not be what holds you up in security checks. Happens to the best of us. wink.gif

It can literally be that a name is familiar to someone on a watch list. It's awful but many of us with no history of anything get held up all the time.

good luck folks. hope you hear something soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAnyone know anything abour RFE's?
It depends on the adjuticator. As explained by a former adjuticator, a case that is sent an RFE is put aside until the evidence arrives or until that adjuticator works on those cases missing evidence. Each is very different and times vary. There is an RFE sticky thread here. Perhaps you can get more of an idea by looking at the timelines of those folks. wink.gif Hopefully those of you waiting will hear something very soon. smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsstill waiting!!!
Keep in mind that VJ is approximately only 5% of the total petitions actually sent to the USCIS. Once a petition arrives, it's put into a standard format and stored away with others from around the same time. Each time an adjuticator is finished working on the box of petitions they had, they go get another and begin work on those. Each adjuticator is very different... we know this from how many do/do issue RFE's for certain things, how long it takes them to deal with an RFE and those who do and do not scan (aka touch). So I think it's pretty fair to assume that each one works at a different pace. The good news is that if those who filed around you are getting approved...unless you're stuck in Security checks.... chances are you're not too far off. wink.gif

On a personal note, I can tell you that these latter stages of waiting for that NOA2 are the absolute worst.... stay strong. It's coming!

Are you talking about Igor's list? This list has nothing to do with the USCIS. It is a list compiled from the VJ database/users. It's updated regularly. You will move up and down on the list based on the way others fill out their timelines. It actually means very little in respect to your case and should be used as an estimate.

It's never easy to tell if there will be a slow down... people say the same thing about summer vacation... and you can not reference last year because both service centers were still dealing with a huge influx of petitions at the time or previous years because so much has changed since last summer.

If you've filled out your timelines, then your estimated adjutication dates are as close and reliable a date as you're going to get.

Let's all hope it picks up instead! wink.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAugust 2008 Filers
Yes it will be denied. One of the requirements is that you have to have met in the last two years in order to file for the petition.

I'll use myself as an example. We literally had to wait YEARS to file because I was awaiting a long drawn out divorce to be final. I couldn't file during the waiting period because I did not meet the criteria... our petition would have been returned. We've met many, many times ..travelled together and lived together in the 10 years we've known each other. I still couldn't file until I had that paper. sad.gif

Withdraw your petition and have a visit... you can send it the very day he gets there. smile.gif

hi friends...

jst want to ask...im a little worried now.i saw one vj's post about those who havent seen each other for the last two years she said that..if u will file ..it will just a waste of money and time and and she said it will be just denied by USCIS. i met my fiancee feb2005 online, we met personally aug 2005 here in philippines. Then we continued our relationship, we talk everyday, IM, phone calls, email and text messages and even snail mails. The time we wet i was just 23 and hes 26..that time he isnt really prepared to get marry and i understand that he needed to do somethings, and he wanted to get everything ready for us. til he propose to me last march....I have everything printed and prepared. When he submitted the I-129f(aug9) he put everything and we got the NOA1 aug23, we pick IM conversation from 2005-2008, one IM conversation per month, photocopies of his plane tickets, boardpass, our pics together and with my family and friends.fedex receipts for all the gift packages he sent me...even text messages i wrote down all from 2005-currrent...u think guys those arent enough to prove to them that we have strong relationship???need ur answers...

thanks thanks

you need to have physically met within the last two years. sorry.

You might want to check your embassy web page for the info. I think each country does it different. The US embassy in Colombia has the packets 3&4 posted online because of the poor mail system, and it lists several vaccinations (more than above) that Colombians need to have before they are issued their K visa. Doesn't really make sense, I know.

Here is the link if you want to check it out: http://bogota.usemba...appt_040408.pdf page #7

That's the exact same list I posted and linked to. I did see where it says 'before issuance of the K1 visa' but by law the rules are the same for everyone since it's the CDC in the US that makes the decision.

Gemma, the list looks longer than it is and being from the UK, you've probably had much of them. wink.gif Many of the shots are done together.

Also, many of them you dont actually need until Adjustment but most people like to get it all done at this medical so they dont need to have another by a civil surgeon in the US. Form I-693 will need to be filled out and signed by a civil surgeon at ajustment whereas you can have the vaccination worksheet prepared ahead of time. Just saves an extra step and for most, saves $$$. wink.gif

There is a link off of that page but try this... http://www.uscis.gov...0000ecd190aRCRD

Here is a more detailed list
The following vaccines are given intramuscularly:
• Diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and pertussis vaccine (DTP)
• Diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine (DTaP)
• Diphtheria and tetanus toxoids for pediatric use (DT)
• Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids for adult use (Td)
• Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine for adult use (Tdap)
• Inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) - can be given subcutaneously
• Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine (Hib)
• Hepatitis A vaccine (HepA)
• Hepatitis B vaccine (HepB)
• Meningococcal conjugate
• Human papillomavirus (HPV)
• Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV)
• Pneumococcal polysaccharide - can be given subcutaneously
• Trivalent inactivated influenza (TIV)

The following vaccines are given subcutaneously:
• Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR)
• Meningococcal polysaccharide
• Varicella

The I-693 is the newly updated form they will use at AOS. Many of the vaccinations wont even need to be done until then but people will usually save a lot of money having it done by a panel physician overseas than they will a civil surgeon here in the U.S. before adjustment period.

I had Russell have his vaccination record signed at his medical so that he can use it with form I-693 when he is ready to adjust. That way he will not have to have a civil surgeon sign off on it. wink.gif

Yup, that's about it Mark. wink.gif

You can start gathering some of what you may need for the next step. I had my I-134 filled out very early on and just sitting in a folder on my desktop with my ongoing relationship info. You can order your tax transcripts and type out your new letter of intent (although you dont want to date it until after NOA2).

Your fiance can look into vaccinations, if any, that she may need before her medical. Those with universal health care will find it much cheaper to get immunized through their primary physician. wink.gif You can find the updated list of new vaccinations required on the uscis or cdc websites. wink.gif Also, she can look into getting her police reports but many times these come with a 6 month validation so you'll want to find out how long it will take..etc.

Visit your portal and regiional forums here on VJ to find other couples who have interviewed with the Embassy you are going through and find out if there are any special requirements when interview time comes.

In India, I know you're going to want to go in very prepared with as much bona-fide evidence as you can. wink.gif

Other than that, spend as much time as you can with your love and when you can't...stay busy. Talk about your future... shop for things online together... and try to stay as positive as you can. smile.gif

It is very common for the California computer system to be messed up. Look back over some old posts and you'll see that people never found out they were approved until they received their hardcopy. Some still show pending even though they were approved ages ago. Happens all the time. sad.gif

I've not ever seen or heard of this happening for Vermont. There was surely something slowing down the NOA1's getting out and checks being cashed but it seems to have cleared now and you're on your way.

Just so you know.. vermont has a long history of being the fastest processing center, even when there were several doing K1's so even tho it might not feel like it right now, you're in good hands there. wink.gif

Mark, they dont know about the K1 unless you tell them. wink.gif Getting a visa through the Embassy is a whole different ballgame though.

awww Michelle (((hugs))) I feel your pain girl.

You might have noticed from my previous timeline and first post here that Russell was denied entry last September. I had lived with him abroad with my children for a bit and then he was basically living here for over a year on the VWP ... not what it's meant for. wink.gif I was awaiting a long drawn out divorce so it was our only chance of being together. We would leave the Country and travel somewhere in the world for a few days every 90 days...yes, very expensive! laughing.gif Needless to say, on his last attempt in through Dublin, he was denied entry. It was hell... especially after living together for the good part of two years. crying.gif Anyway, we've had just one three week visit since then. Russell can no longer use the VWP and we just knew they wouldn't give him a visa because he already showed intent. I have my work and my kids to consider and NZ isn't the kinda place you can go to for a weekend or even a few days. It's at least a couple thousand r/t and 20+ hours of just flight time sooooo no more visits. sad.gif I've always envied those who could see each other so much as they wait this process out....lucky ducky's! laughing.gif Oh well.. we're almost there now! wink.gif

Thank you so much... I was waiting all day to get home and hopefully have an inspiring post from you! It's such a relief to know that nobody (yet) has had a RFE for this. Sorry, I panicked!

You know how it goes when you're waiting for your chance to file.. you have nothing else to do except check your packet. The forms, the evidence, the letters... it would just suck so much to know we made a simple mistake. But I feel relieved now, and ready to wait for our NOA1 again. smile.gif

Part C... We answered "not in miltary", followed by "no" for have you ever been convicted of.. and left the next one blank as they didn't relate to us (reasons for convictions)... I do remember seeing people get confused about this, so we double-checked that it made sense. I assume we're supposed to leave that blank anyways.

You're welcome. smile.gif You did good. I do know just how it is! I had everything ready for months before we were even able to file... forms, scans of everything we needed...etc.. all just sitting on my hard drive in a "K1" folder on my desktop just waiting to be printed out. We're talking 10 years of 'proof' here. wacko.gif Well the day I was to print it all out and put it together my hard drive crashed! blink.gif Fixing computers is a part of my job but I just didnt have the time so I had to redo everything which, of course, sent me into a panic about having done it right. Of course I used the example forms for reference but I still worried. I must have checked my copy of the forms for that Part C, Q2 about 6 times in the 4 months we waited. laughing.gif

In typing up my updated letter of intent the other day to send to my love and I realized that the example form says "I will marry blah blah blah..as soon as I enter the US"... and I left it as such on my first letter of intent. One problem... i'm already in the US! DOH! laughing.gif Oh I would not have been a happy camper if we had been RFE'd for that. laughing.gif We can all make silly mistakes... we're only human. smile.gif

Hello everyone - newbie to VJ here!

My fiance (US citizen) and I have been in the waiting game for ages now and since he's had all sorts of issues with his birth certificate, passport issues...we decided to go with an attorney! unsure.gif January this year!! no0pb.gif Anyway, to make a long story short, fiance had EVENTUALLY sent off required info to our attorney and we had FINALLY heard from them a few weeks ago and they advised that they had sent off our paperwork to the Vermont office and that was end July/beg Aug. Last week we received another call from the att informing us that to date, they have not yet received the filing number. crying.gif Is this normal?? I've emailed the att following up on this today...I know Im just getting a more than impatient here considering we've been together for almost 5 years and only almost half the time we'd been together physically.

sad.gif

We've had 10 years of daily communication and had been living together for a year and a half when he was denied entry. It's now been close to a year that we've been apart... with one 3 week visit. sad.gif I know it's so difficult... especially when you're already so used to curling up in each others arms every day. My heart goes out to you. If it's any consolation, we just received our NOA2 this week and all of that pain and heartache has now dissipated and i'm once again walking around with a spring in my step and a stupid grin on my face. smile.gif The time will seem to drag at times but keep yourself as busy as possible planning your lives together and your heart and mind focused on what's to come. Hopefully the VSC will speed right up again and you'll be on your way in no time!!!

No question is stupid... we all asked once. wink.gif

Your EAC or WAC number is also stamped on the back of your personal check so if you can get an electronic copy of the back of the check once it's cashed you can often get it from that.
