They stamp it "For Credit to U.S. Treasury" then there's a set of numbers under that, set of numbers under that then a line and then...under that is the EAC number. All this is from one stamp. There's a bank stamp as well as another that says for receipt only or something like that. I don't know what she's talking about alt34. Strange that you haven't received the hardcopy yet. Wonder if you will. Susy it will be soon It's a good thing the USEM in Peru is quick! HI Meagan... hope you are approved before you leave too. It will make it that much easier. Not that there's anything very interesting just yet... just something about checking one more thing off the list, eh? Where are all the VSC approvals????? It seems as though they are taking a break from the K1's lately. I realize we're a VERY small percentage of all those who file but after watching January and February filers fly through, you would think we'd see the March filers being approved all over. I'm sure the folks who are going through that consulate will be able to help you. Maybe use your portal to find someone to PM who recently went through if you dont get an answer soon. Well, if the check cashed then you know you're there and on your way... i'm sure it will work out. YES! Our check cashed!! We were actually talking to each other yesterday when I just happened to check the account again for about the 4th time (as Russell's a tad anxious and keeps asking ) and I gasped as I saw my bank account had dropped! I'm still not on my computer (using one of the kids laptops ) and had a reader error so by the time I reinstalled adobe, Russell had already been into the bank account & registered with USCIS. He refreshed the page several times just during our conversation to see if the status has changed! He so cute! It's even more of a relief now just knowing that the application is there, maybe just collecting dust for now but... it helps knowing they're not sending it back for something foolish (like I forgot to sign the check or something ) that would delay the process even more. Most of us can get a copy right online. The USC will get a hardcopy via snail mail that will also have the number. I don't know what to say about VSC. It's hard to really get an accurate idea because the databases here are just based on the VJ filers which make up a very small percentage of overall filers. I can tell you that, according to this website, things look like they've slowed a bit but that may not be the case. It's still a whole lot faster than CSC and MUCH better than it was last year after the price increase/influx of petitions! Others here who filed the day before us had their checks clear yesterday so i'm hoping today is the day but nothing yet. Seems as tho VSC slowed down quite a bit since January/February. My divorce was final last monday (after years of waiting!) and I picked up my decree on Tuesday and sent the package off! What a GREAT feeling that was! I used USPS overnight with confirmed delivery. It cost me about $24 but was worth every penny. I tracked it online... it was there in less than 24 hours and I had a email with a copy of Novak's signature. I remember thinking back in September, when Russell was 'booted', that we just needed to get through the rough winter and once the nicer weather was here we'd be well on our way... now that our petition has been sent and the sun is warm, it really feels that much closer! I really do hope they get through these petitions as quickly as they were in January. One month sounds good to me! The NZ consulate is very quick as well so it looks like just about 4-6 weeks from approval to interview date. I'm quite sure my honey will be calling them to expedite too! Well, as stated... we've finaly got the paperwork sent yesterday and we're stoked about that! It was no easy task though! Some of you know that i've already waited years for my ex to sign the divorce agreement. Russell being booted from the country...etc. Well if that wasn't enough... I had everything scanned in, forms filled out...etc all stored on my hard drive for months now. Just waiting to be printed up and organized into the packet. Well, after printing off all our pictures and a few other things on Sunday I went to reboot and windows wouldn't load. It was late and because I work with computers I thought 'no big deal' I will finish up tomorrow... yes well, turns out my hard drive failed and I couldn't get to any of it. After diagnosing the problem, I didn't have time to see if I could copy the drive over and had to get on another computer at home and scan and print everything again. I had to dig for emails that were still on my server and not downloaded to outlook. Lost all our chat sessions...etc. Needless to say, I was up pretty late getting that all done. On top of that, I had 4 calls into registrar of deeds office last week to make sure I could pick up my decree yesterday....with no call back. I decided I'd take the 1/2 hour drive into the city and drop in to see if I could get it anyway. When I got there I was sent to an entirely different building...where I was sent back to the same place I started!! At this point all I could do is shake my head. Anyway, I got it! From that moment on nothing else seemed to matter and I was all smiles! I spent about 40 minutes in line at the post office and sent the package overnight. As soon as I got into my office I had a call from the registrar's office.... my decree was ready to be picked up! I just had to laugh! The girl that called was the same one who had actually typed it up for me yesterday while I waited. Too funny. So the package was very well organized and very throrough, with tabbed off sections and I went over everything twice but I still worry because of the loss of all my previous information and the mad rush in which I put it together again. It still feels really good to have it done and to be in the waiting game. I know for many this is the part they stress about most and maybe after a few weeks of waiting we'll get there too ...but we've waited SOOOO long just to get to this point and for now, we're just so happy to be on to the next chapter. I did take a few pics of the petition package on my cell to send to Russell and would be happy to share if anyone is interested. As far as the CSC vs VSC disparity.... when we first started posting at VJ they were still in the backlog from the influx in July and it was taking 6-10 months for an approval at both offices. Even though i'm not with CSC, it still infuriates me that they have not taken lessons from VSC to speed up their process. It's very unfair! Of course, we're thrilled to be filing with Vermont..but after watching so many wait like that last year and after waiting so many years just to be together we're really happy to just be able to finally file! We have a ridiculous amount of evidence (10 years) that I need to sort through today to send with the file. Most of it is put together but I still need to go through emails...chats...thousands of pics... fun, fun! We got together all of our credit card info yesterday and realized that we've spent more than $60,000 in travelling around the world the past two years! Yeah, that hurt! I've still not heard back from the assesor's office regarding my divorce decree. He told me last month I could pick it up on Tuesday and to call back and confirm this but I called three times this week with no call back. The biggest reason i'm sending a personal check is so I can have my numbers off the back and can register with USCIS asap! I'm a super techy (always on the computer) as it's what I do for a living so I do everything online. I haven't written a check a years! Ordered them especially for this! You do seem a bit of a worry wart ... but that's usually just a sign of someone that cares very much...not a bad thing! Nico... I hope your bank balance diminishes today! How did you guys package your petition??? What did you send?? I've been here long enough to know how it works... i'm just curious...or maybe nosey! I'm going to staples today to get some ACCO fastners and believe i'll put a two-hole punch at the top and index everything with tabs. We've got 10 years of information/pics/history... so i'm trying to keep it light but thorough! btw... Where are you all from??? Im in North Central Massachusetts....HUGE red sox/pats fan! I'm quite sure that all your paperwork is now packed away in the USCIS standard form and that it's in it's new home.... packed away with a bunch of others in a big box in a closet somewhere collecting dust! You'll be approved by two months and I wont need to remind you! We're one week out from filing as of today!!!
