Lukes.. i checked on Tropical Mansion hotel, just a few blocks away.. it is cheaper.. there are a lot of nice hotel though. let her check google on hotels near St.Lukes and it would be close to USEM too. They really aren't that slow according to the statistics here. It is just that many at CSC are getting approved right at or under 5 months. This is really CSC beating the average so they make VSC look bad because VSC can barely make the average at this point. Anyway, we miss each other so much it kills us, and I know most here feel the same. The last time I got to be with her was over this past Christmas. I am planning to go back as soon as we can schedule her interview. How about yourself? My childhood friend was under VSC later last year and they was approved after their 3rd month of waiting so now VSC is really slow from last year. That's so good of you that you'll comeback on the day of her interview. I just got home a week ago i did visit her again but i can't go with her in the interview i'll just wait her here. We got our noa2 July 25 and we got MNL no. August 2... so its like 8 days only.... :-) That's fast! I hope ours will be like that too. You already scheduled your interview? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	marriage in dom rep	I did my paperwork myself and I had it notarize by a Notary Public. Than I took it to (El consulado Dominicano en Boston) because I need it to have it Apostillado, notarizado and with their signature on the back Obligao and this is something MANDATORY and all that so basically I paid $135.00 which I believe was a waste of money. & it took about 4 days for me to go again and pick it up. He was the coach driver of my tour and we hit it off right away. He ended up even coming out to the states to visit me right after my tour ended too. He visited me two times after that and I've been to the UK an additional four times after that and will be going again to FINALLY see him in just 2 more days!!! The visits help with this LOOOONGGGG wait time. Thanks VSC for teaching me true patience. Of course, hopefully this will be enough... Middle East and North Africa	Visa approved!	She interviewed at the US Consolate in Ethiopia, and left with a visa. Wow. I can't believe it. You know, this process has been quite a ride. When we started, I felt we would learn all about how it works, and then be fine. It wasn't like that. Every step of the way I'm unsure about whether I really did the forms right, the information they want, the letters, etc. So I look back, and I guess it worked because she has a visa, but it's still this murky world I don't understand completely. I guess that's why they call it Visa Journey, huh? Anyway, Amsale will come here to the US in a month or so and our journey continues with the marriage, change of status and all the rest. But for today, we're just happy, and excited, and releived, and on top of the world. My sweetie got her visa! Thanks to everyone on here for thier insight, and support. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May filers	Good morning May filers... Happy Memorial Day. I'm not sure about any 'rumors' as I haven't really heard any. They seem to have cleared out the backlog from last years influx. We know the deadline was in April for the work visa's but there aren't so many of those. Even with that, last year's April filers were approved very quickly so who knows really. It's all just speculation. I will tell you that they were talking in another thread (maybe even this one) about when you track your petition from NVC to USEM and how even tho their were only a few approvals here at VJ there were still 80+ going to that particular USEM the same day so we must remember that even though it looks slow from our side here at VJ...they could very well still be cruising! Fingers crossed! Going over the stats last night, it does still look like from January to now approvals have gone from about 30 days to about 45...and now about 60...which is a bummer. But perhaps we're headed back on the downslope now and you'll start seeing May approvals very soon.... just not before us April folks go through, if ya don't mind. I try to focus on the fact that at least it's not 7-8 months as it was for VSC'ers last year! In any case, it is what it is and we are all on our way. The writ of mandamus is a great idea but i'm afraid, as mentioned above, the uscis can take as long as they like when it comes to security checks. Perhaps I can forward all of sara's information to as many legal folks as I can find and hopefully find one that is willing to at least try to do something. I still think it's important to get the media involved in some way too. No agency likes to be called out. I am going to create a website for sara and perviz that will include a letter in pdf format that can be printed or sent electronically to everyone and anyone who will listen. Sara, I definately don't think you should be posting your home address to anyone. I have put all of the information/documents into pdf form and can electronically send it off to as many senator's...etc as possible. I can also set up a website on my server and collect digial signatures although, i'm unsure as to what else we can do with them from there. A petition is a good idea but i'm not real sure how benefitial it will be. Perhaps we can set up a website where folks can download pdf version of a letter that they can then send to any politician and/or media outlet they can think of. It only takes one loud enough mouth. Even though there are a lot of us here, our tax dollars do not pay immigration costs therefore, we don't have a very large voice. Getting the injustice to the media may very well lead to 'someone' finally doing something. All we can do is be a larger voice for the injustice that we see happening to Sara. I think the message we need to get across most is that while we understand the US must protect it's borders and do these security checks, it's inconceivable that it would take almost two years for tihs couple to get an answer to their I-129f and even more unfair that they haven't had a clear answer on the status of their case from anyone they've dealt with in all the time they've been waiting. I'm so happy to see that Sara's beautiful spirit has touched so many of you the way it has me over the years i've grown to know her. She has been waiting close to two years now and has already contacted her representatives, different lawyers, CSC (countless times), media, the ombudsman and even the white house. The most frustrating part of it is that she receives a different answer each time she talks to somebody. Security checks are one thing but a United States Citizen should, at the very least, be able to get a definitive answer regarding their petition. Just so you are all aware... Sara has sent me every document she has with regards to her case. I will be compliling a package with timeline to send off to anyone who will listen....government, media, etc. Perhaps I will add a petition to it for us all to sign and, if sara is not opposed to it, make the package available on my server for others to send to any contacts they may have. It may not get us the results we'd all love to see for Sara and Perviz but at least it gives them, essentially all of US, a bigger voice. Look for updates in this thread. It really means nothing. The case isn't going to be adjuticated for some time... usually when there are touches early on in the process it merely means you're put into the box to wait.
