Okay you guys, the happiness from my approval is starting to wear off because I just called CSC and they said that I'm still in the staging area. I thought for sure since I recieved my approval on the 1st of November that I went with all of you on the 6th. Besides I got a touch on the 4, 5, and 6th, and nothing since then. WOW, I thought for sure I was on my way, do you think that they're telling me the truth. NOw I feel so bummed.......

Rodgiegirl: I bet our petitions will go together. I had two touches last week too, but when I called Friday, they said it was still in the staging area. I had a touch on 11/11 (Sunday?) but I'll call maybe this Friday and see if it's gone out. Hang in there, the patient one, Alane & Ramzis

Hello guys..just want to keep you updated. I called NVC today and I was so thrilled to hear that today my case was received and she told me (operator) to give them a call by Friday just to check if it has been sent out and get my new case number. Praise God!!! Thank you guys again so much. So what are the important steps after NVC sends it out to the US Embassy in the Philippines?

EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!! CONGRATS!! Hope they send it out Friday!!!!

was your petition in the Nov. 6 bucket of papers??

FINALLY!!!! After about 30minutes of calling and haning up I FINALLY GOT THROUGH!!!

After I gave her my WAC# I was ready for her to just repeat the numbers back to me.....BUUUUUUUUUUTTTTT!!!!!!!!!! SHE DIDN"T!!! NVC HAS MY CASE!!!! :-)

She then asked me what the beneficiary DOB was and confirmed my phone number! I then asked her when the case would be forwarded to the Islamabad Embassy in Pakistan and she said they usually complete the process in 2 to 4 weeks but then she told me it will probably be faster than that because they dont do much to the case but enter some info. Thats all I could get from her, she was EXTREMELY nice and pleasant to talk to! 180 Degree turn in attitude from CSC!!!

BEST OF LUCK TO THE REST OF MY NOV.6 GANG!!!!!!! Lets get 'em DONE NVC!!

Another hurdle jumped! Just called NVC and they have my petition. Got my new case number. I was told to call back on Friday to see if it was sent out to Thailand. If this timeline keeps up, I am hoping to have packet 3 and 4 before the month is over. Good luck to the Nov. 6 gang!!

Good morning guys----I'm hoping the pace at CSC is picking up. I will probably wait and call the end of the week or first of next week (CSC) and see if they have sent our petition.

Hey: my approval was on 11/6. I had a touch on 11/7 and another one on 11/11 (Sunday?). Anyway, I called on Friday (the 9th) to see if the touch on the 7th could possibly mean they sent my petition to NVC. I got a really nice officer and she said CSC still had it. but now I have this touch from 11/11. Maybe I'll call later in the week and see if it possibly has been sent on to NVC> Can only hope-----the optimistic and always patient Alane & Ramzis innocent.gif innocent.gif

Well I just called CSC and my petition has not been forwarded to NVC yet. I'm not disappointed though. I got a super nice lady and she says it takes a few days after the approval to have it sent on. I think I would call and find out if they sent yours out Alane. When USCIS sent out petitions on Nov.1 to NVC, I got touched but when I called, they told me my file was still in the staging area. No one could tell me why I got touched. Hopefully they sent yours. Good luck!!

Do you use the same RFE number we've been calling? I would LOVE to tell Ramzis today that our petition has already been sent to the visa center!!!

So, my fiance picked up Packet 3 today and turned in that first form (biographic info?? I think...) but they wouldn't schedule his interview until he got his medical exam. So, he will have that tomorrow and hopefully he will get an interview next week! Our fellow VJ filer pedsgirl's fiance has his interview this coming Tuesday, so let's wish them good luck! He is in Romania too, so we are hoping Florin's interview will be next week as well! smile.gif
I can't believe how fast this is going now! After all this time waiting and waiting, it's almost hard to believe it's almost over smile.gif
Good luck to everyone, and I hope to see much more good news posted here! good.gif

I am still going to be stressed until NVC confirms they got it.

just an update: i called NVC and my case STILLLLLLl has NOT arrived!!!!!!! what a bummer!!! approved on Oct 10!!!!!!!!!!

where is my case?? worreid its in some damn back room collecting dust!

I called USCIS today and was told my petition is still in the staging area to be shipped to NVC. I got a touch on Nov.1st but the customer rep. could not give me any reason as to why.

GoharRabia, I am thinking maybe your petition is still in the staging area also, along with mine and U2rsobad.
Try calling USCIS and see if they shipped yours out yet. We have already seen that USCIS does not seem to care about first in being first out.

I have been trying to call CSC all MORNING!!!! I'm on the EAST Coast....... what time does CSC start answering the calls there?? I would really like some answers as tomorrow will be 4wks from my NOA2!

I agree afterforever, our cases are in some back room chillin!!!! Wish they would pass it along! With pakistan goin the way it is, i dont think my fiancee will be coming soon!! :-( its killin me!

I have called as early as 8 AM (California time). The last few times I have called, I had to wait about 10 minutes before I was able to speak with a customer service rep. Good luck!

I got through pretty fast!!!!!! called at 8:05 AM (Cali time), probaby one of the first callers if they open the phone lines at 8AM.

Got some "GOOD" news (if you can call it that) and BAD news...

The GOOD -- CSC "says" they mailed the petition on OCT 23
The BAD -- NVC "says" yesterda Nov. 05 they have NOT received the petition!!!

I asked her if she was sure it left that day, and she said yes, not sure if there are any other questions I could ask her to verify it? I could do what others have done and call back the next day and hope a the same answer. Any helpful hints?

Question: What should I do now? (just wait?) Any helpful ideas??

Thanks!

Just another update!!! Looks like CSC sent a shipment of I-129F's to NVC on the 6th of NOV...... they are now telling me that my case is in that bundle!!! but I then asked the lady why when I called yesterday the other lady told me it was shipped on the 23rd of OCT?? she doesn't know why she told me that because there is nothing in the system that says my case was sent on the 23rd of OCT.......... looks like that lady just lied to get me off of the phone.

Also, like we all know, they do keep a tally of everytime you call them! thats a fact! she knew i called the day before but I don't think they know exactly why you called, just that you had placed a call....... unless there is a note section...... which i'm sure there is!!!

anyways! just fyi for everybody

I called called USCIS and they told me that my petition also was shipped out to the NVC. I had her check the date and she said it was shipped on Nov. 6. I sure hope it gets in and out of NVC quickly. GohaRabia, it looks like we are in the same box that was shipped to NVC.

Do you know how long it takes before NVC gets it into their system??

Gee---do you suppose there is a chance our petition made the Nov. 6 pile? That would be a bonus now, wouldn't it?!

Wanwisa had her interview yesterday...and we were approved for the K-1!!!

At the interview, they asked her how we met and what I do for a living.

My Fiancee has to go back to the Embassy on Friday to pick up her passport with the visa and will be on a flight to San Francisco on Saturday!!!

Thanks again to everyone for all the help and I wish everyone else a speedy 7 months like we had.

Tips? Let's see:
--We did eveything by the book and never had any unusual delays or RFEs...Just the usual 4 months at the CSC.
--For evidence with the I-129F and at the Embassy, we submitted mountains of cell phone records, pictures together, emails, hotel receipts with both of our names, airline boarding passes and passport copies.
--When we got packet #3 from the consulate after it was sent by the NVC, we returned it the next day, did the medical/police clearance immediately and had the interview date in about 10 days.

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE. I HOPE YOU ARE SOON WITH YOUR LOVED ONE.

--Bryan and Wanwisa

If not, then my guess is your case is still in Nebraska.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusSmooth as Silk

Well, it's a done deal. She's here and we all survived. A few scrapes with the local authorities but ####### it's Russia. In a nutshell, the interview went well. Only a few minutes and a few questions(I posted a short review) . They did take the completed I-134 but paid little or no attention to the supporting documentation. The DHL arrangements for delivery of the Visa were made at the office about a block from the Embassy. The office is located on the ground floor in a small upscale shopping Mall that had some old Bentleys and Jags parked on the side near some resturant named the White Elephant, Pink Elephant or some s*&$. We arranged to pick the Visa package at the DHL office in Moscow center. They have later hours and it is easy to get to. The Visa was issued 2 days after the interview. The DHL fee was 973 rubles.

My fiancee was asked a few questions by the Russian passport control people as we left Russia and they paid very close attention to the K-2 Visa and Daughters documentation. We had about 300lbs of luggage and a carefully placed 1000 ruble note got the baggage on the flight to JFK without any hassle.

The entry into the states was a piece of cake. I went through the visitors line with my fiancee and the agent was overly helpful. All-in-all a very good experience. An experience none of us will ever forget. I am especially moved by some of the people I met and the places in Russia that I experienced. In 3 trips to Russia, I literally met all of my fiancees family and friends from Moscow to Vladivostok. Totally cool!

The one thing I would tell anyone who embarks on this endeavor would be to tell the truth about EVERYTHING to EVERYONE and that TOO MUCH documentation is NOT ENOUGH. And I would be remiss if I did not add that this site provided some very useful info.

Best of luck!! Have fun!!

Thanks for sharing your happy ending with us----it's a great encouragement

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusVisa application fee in Moscow

The embassy Immigrant visa unit posts the Fee for an immigrant visa (CR-1, IR-1) that is $380

They tend to not cover the K-Visas that are non-immigrant visas, the fee for them IS $100, or the equivalent in the local currency. This is the fee paid for processing the DS-156 (Non-Immigrant Visa application)

The K-3 pays the same fees at the K-1 so look on the Fiancee visa page for fees.

Payment. Please pay the application fee ($100 dollars for each applicant) ON THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW only after an Embassy employee instructs you to do so. We accept dollars and rubles. Credit cards are not acceptable.

Thanks for the info.

I am seeing all kinds of different numbers for the visa application fee (K-1). Who knows what it is? I see $100 on the USCIS fee chart, $380 on the embassy website and other numbers at the travel.gov site. I appreciate the clarification. I know there is the DHL charge (about $40) and the medical exam charge (about $60-100?) Thanks

QUOTE (Ryan and Elina @ Jul 12 2007, 01:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was looking at the guidelines on what to send my finance now that the noa2 has been approved. I am a little confused about the i-134 document. here is what I gather
1 everybody has to fill this form out?
2 i need to have it notarized and i need to send it to Elina with the rest of the things mentioned? and she just brings it to the interview at the embassy?

also, do i need to have anything else notarized?
I am a little confused about this document and why i need to fill it out if any one can help, i already sent all my tax documents in the i-129f.

The information you have here is good and accurate. As I understand, they may not even ask for the I-134 or supporting documents, but you have to have it. Be sure you also send her all the originals of the documents you submitted with the I-129F (i.e., your bith certificate, etc., etc.) Also, you are to send another letter of intent to marry with a date closer to the time of your interview. she also has to bring a photo for her passport.

Nevertheless, we are thankful for our many blessings and VERY GLAD to finally have an interview date. biggrin.gif

Here are some other things that took about 300 days:

Construction of Wembley Stadium, London (1923)
Eruption of Mauna Loa (1859)
Marco Polo's Journey to China (15th Century)
Length of Year in First Roman Calendar ** (753 B.C.)

** Early Romans did not count the first two months on the grounds that nothing "important" happened during those cold dark first 60 days.

Congratulations----We are scouring the interview schedule every week waiting for our date too!!!! We hope to learn our interview date next week, Alane & Ramzis

I've been told by NVC and DOS that our documents were definitely shipped dhl on 12/21. NOBODY could give me a dhl tracking #. avoid making the return trip to his city. Just like to know, thanks again for the good report

It is possible to pick up the visa directly from the DHL office in Moscow on the 2nd or 3rd day after the interview. When you pay for DHL just tell them you want to pick it up in the city office and they'll list their address as the delivery point. They should call you when it's ready, usually takes a couple days (3 days standard), and you can pick it up and leave right then.

Thanks, Slim----this is just the information I was hoping for!

Well we did it! Got back 8/31. Married 10/26. Sending her AOS papers next week. I took a break from the whole visajourney thing. Needed a break from all the forms, worrying, the whole visa process, everything. etc.!! I'll give a brief summary of our experience. Hope it relieves some nerves for the people in the process. I'll start from the NOA2 approval.

All in all so far, everything went as smooth as possible.

- I found out 5/22 that we got approved. I was leaving May 31 to Aug 31 to stay with her and hopefully we would come home together.

- Around 6/10 I found out by calling the NVC that our interview was 8/22. The Embassy website does not update every weeek like it claims. Call the visa center and they will tell you the interview date. As for Russia, apparently the NVC sets the interview date not the Embassy. I dont know about other countries. I knew the date before the embassy site was updated.

- For me, this 3 week gap of not knowing the interview date was the most trying. Looking at other timelines it looked like on average it took about 3 months from NOA2 to the interview. I had to leave Aug 31 regardless, so everyday was crucial. I had already changed my tickets from 5/14 to 8/14 hoping the extra 17 days was going to be just enough time to squeak in the interview in and allow a week for her to get her passport back. In addition, the seats on the return flight were filling fast so we took a gamble and bought her ticket before knowing the interview date. Needless to say, I was elated to find out the interview was Aug 22 (hmm, exactly 3 months, kind of spooky!). I was a litte nervous about only having 8 days to receive her passport. I believe DHL delivered her passport on Tuesday the 28th. We left friday.

For us the medical went smoother than I ever could of hoped.

- We went to the IOM in Moscow. We made our appointment and arrived an 1/2 hour before they opened. They let all the people with appointments in first. We got our documents then went to another location for the medical. Both sites were close to the Metro, not too far apart, very convienent. At the clininc she did 3 exams in 3 rooms. she got 3 vaccinations. It was all over in a little over an hour. I've read on other posts about girls getting naked or rude behvavior by the doctors. This was not the case at all for us, she was in a gown(had her underwear on) for 1 exam. A nurse was present the whole time, every thing was very professional. No problems at all.

- After the exams were complete we were told we could pick up the results at the 1st building at 3-30pm(same day, very convienent). We did. we were done in 15 minutes. The lady said all the results were good. We recieved a sealed envelope and her xrays. As you probably know, dont open the enevlope. You dont need to bring the xray with you to the interview. In addition you get the vaccine document, I dont know the form # off hand, but you will definitely need it along with the xray in the states.

The interiew: Piece of cake!!!!!!

- I went with her to the embassy. For all that think being there at the embassy will help. It wont. At least in my case. I sat outside for about 3.5 hours. They a different entrance for U.S. citizens on the end of the embassy.

- She was the last one in the embassy of 19 . She was 12th in line for the interview. The interview lasted about 4 minutes.

Heres the exact questions (in order) they asked. I'll give her answers

" How did you meet?" ---- "internet"

" How many times has your fiance been to Russia?" -----"3"

" Does your fiance know Russia?"---- "No" " Do you know english?"------ " Yes, a little"

" Were you married before? ----"Yes" "Your fiance?" ----"No"

" What kind of job do want in the USA?" ----"Teacher or translator"

" Do you have some pictures" ------" Yes"

She said the consulate was very nice. After she said "yes" to speaking english the consulate starting speaking english. My wife said he was extremely pleased she knew english and at this point immediately started stamping documents and told her "you will have your visa/passport in 1 week" "congradulations".

As a side note, I had about 80 pictures in a little mini-album. Of those 80, maybe 10 or 12 were of us together, the rest were of her mom, grandma, cats, summer house, etc. . She just brought the whole album instead of picking out pics of us only. I thought this was more natural. The consulate looked at everyone, asked questions, he even showed another consulate the pics of her cat. This took up about 3 of the 4 minutes of the interview. So my point is: bring lots of pics, it kills time and is more convincing as well as I think they liked the wide range of pics that a normal photo album would have.

So basically the interview was 4 to 5 minutes, 3 to 4 were looking at pictures and 1 minute was asking 9 questions. Piece of cake!!!!!

POE:

POE was JFK. It took about 45 minutes!! No hassles, no problems!!! Thay said, "congrads!, you have 90 days to marry"

We married Oct 26. We will send AOS docs out next week. !!!

I hope this helps someone!!! If someone as a questions let me know!! I feel like a weathered pro now!!!1 I am sooooooooooooooooo happy this part is over!!!!! Good luck all!!!!

Awesome report----thanks---Question: Is there any option to wait a day or two in Moscow and get the visa sooner? My fiance lives about 600 mi. from Moscow and we want him to get his visa ASAP to avoid making the return trip to his city. Just like to know, thanks again for the good report
