K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F June Filers	Ok, we can probably get a new thread going on how to communicate since we are all in it for the obvious longer haul. Be sure to get a web cam for your computer and your fiance. I now subscribe to the international phone plan for my home and cell phone. Its great for the cell phone for a quicky call when the webcam is not convienient. I learned early in this long distance thing that phone cards are too expensive. Adriana is in Brazil and we have success using free services such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and CamFrog.com. She couldn't get Skype to work on her computer unfortunately. Oh yes, if you subscribe to an international plan for your cell phone, be sure to call your service provider here in the states to get directions on dialing once you get to where ever your going and ask how to call there locally and how to call back to the states from there too. And be sure to update your roaming software on your phone before leaving the US too. Call your cell phone service provider for all that from the airport before getting on the plane. Anyone else out there using some other way for Internet communications I didn't mention here? Charles I buy real cheap phone cards on the internet. I can call Russia for about 3.5 cents/minutes. Mine seems to be getting worse. I just bought tickets to come and see her at the end of the month. I hope this helps. I will only be there for eleven days. Better then not at all I guess. I am a little concerned that reading everyone elses timelines that it seems that your forms have been "touched" in the last month. As for mine, I got the NOA1 on 06/15/07, via checking it at the USCIS website. Apparently, it hasn't been touched since 06/20/07. That's about a month and a half since any activity. Should I be concerned of how slow my process is going? It's is currently at the CSC. I'm sorry for the question, and please excuse me this is my first post. I have never received a hard copy of the NOA1. I got the case number off the back of our check. Our last and only touch was on 6/13/07. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F June Filers	Here is something for June Does everyone know you can get this type of information anytime from the Immigration Timelines area? I just go there, increase the number of rows displayed, and then sort by NOA1 or whatever I am wanting to look at. For what I posted above, I copied the rows in Excel, cleaned it up, saved it as an HTML file and then uploaded it as an attachment. Keep in mind this is a snapshot from this morning and is not updated real time like the Timeline area is. I'd be happy to explain more about this if anyone wants. I don't have many details, but he got there at 7:00 a.m. to be first in line and he was calling me by 10:30 a.m. He said they began letting them in at 8:30 and they don't start working until 9:00 a.m. So I don't think it took very long. Monday is a holiday (International day of women) which is celebrated across Europe, so all businesses will be closed on Monday (ugh---another day lost), but hopefully he will have his visa on Tuesday or Wed, fly here on Thursday and we'll be married on Friday (do you think it is at all possible that the government would work with me on this timeline?!) The I-134 is what your fiance should take to the interview. I-864 is for AOS. From the patient one, Alane & Ramzis Actually, it depends on the country. My fiance's country (Liberia, W. Africa) required the I-864 for his interview. So this is a good question. I saved a copy to my computer so it's just a matter of re-printing it and getting it notrized. Most banks will do it for free if you have an account with them. I am putting this social security link up for everyone. There has been so much conflicting information about the work stamp, POE, AOS, etc., etc. By default, entering on a K-1 entitles immediate working privilege if you have a SS#. Read Section C, paragraph 1. I talked to a lawyer who told me he cannot work (which is NOT true). I have a SS specialist where I work who confirmed this information, that working is inherent with the K-1 for 90 days. You must submit the AOS as soon as possible so hopefully there is no break in working. DON'T LISTEN TO LAWYERS!!!! Here's the link a holder of a K-1 visa is eligible for work regardless of a Employment Authorization stamp on his K-1 visa in the passport, or an Employment Authorization card. Here is a relevant page from the Social Security Administration Manual. Please refer to Section C, Paragraph 1 that states that a holder of a K-1 visa is "authorized to work in the U.S. without specific authorization from DHS. The person’s I-94 will not have the DHS employment authorization stamp and the alien will generally not have an EAD. " https://secure.ssa.g.../lnx/0100203500 Your fiance will need to complete a form at the SSA office requesting to change his SS# to "authorized for employment" as soon as possible upon his arrival. The I-134 is what your fiance should take to the interview. I-864 is for AOS. Hi guys: 2 questions: If we get a work stamp at POE in New York, does that mean he can work right away? I just talked to a lawyer on the telephone; a) he says they don't do that anymore and even if you get one, you can't work----doesn't make sense. The I-864 (affadavit of support) has to be submitted with the I-485 (AOS). Can we use the same one we used for the K-1 interview or do we need a newer, updated one? NOBODY could give me a dhl tracking #. As of yesterday, the embassy emailed me saying they have not received them yet. Since my frustrations of two weeks ago things have picked up speed. After crying and finally getting a supervisor on our case at CSC, our documents arrived at NVC on 12/17/07 left NVC on 12/18/07 and arrived at the Moscow Embassy this morning 12/21/07!!!
