Oh by the way, the intention of not mentioning my name as her fiance is because we haven't started the K1 application that time.... unlike Jesse G's case.

It varies. Specially when its your first time to apply for tourist visa.

My fiancee's friend experienced was she has a relative is California, she has invitation, a real good supporting documents that she will return to the philippines but still she was denied twice.

What my experience has taught me is that once a foreginer visits the US it is VERY hard to return with a tourist visa if a long time hasn't gone by. JKD you might want to try what my fiancee did.

She came in California with B1 visa (single entry business visa) last June 2006 then she applied for B2 visa (tourist visa) last May to visit me and she got her visa.

What she did: Prepare the application form but what she stated in the application form is that she's invited by a friend (woman friend), an immigration lawyer once said don't mention anything about a guy friend or fiance during the interview or even in the application form.

She stated specific date on her application form how long she would like to stay in VA.
Gather all supporting docs.

When she's being interviewed in the embassy, she was asked, why do you want to go to US? is she going to pay for your plane ticket? He didn't even bother to look at her documents.
And since she didn't overstay during her first visit that gives the idea to the consul that she will return to PI. She was given 3 months to use it but then when she get in the airport immigration she was given six months on her I-94. Yehey!

I wanted her to stay for 6 months.

But still we stick on our plan of her 2 weeks stay here (she's only on vacation leave at work hehe)... and we travelled together back to the philippines so I can meet her family!

I put all my documents in a clearbooks also, i just gave the whole clearbook to the Consular Officer. I used 5 clearbooks with 20 pages each for my interview documents. I put labels on each clearbook and side tabs for easy reference. The thickness of your clearbook must be less than one inch so that it will fit the window slot.

There are timelines you can look at based on your filing center. they are a good gauge. A lot of folks (like my Mayeth) added the timeline as part of our signature.

we used the City-State Tower hotel....three blocks from St Lukes.
There was also the Cherry Blossoms, between the two places, and next to Robinson's mall Ermita - a friend stayed there and siad it was great.
Mayeth stayed at Las Palmas on the other side of the mall by the medical school. it is two blocks from the train, but a short jeepney ride to the Embassy.

At some point you will file an affidavite of support, first for your K-3 package. That package allows her to be interviewed there, and bring HER version of the package which has an updated affidavit of support. Once she is her, and applies for citezenship, then -you got it - a third one.

I am glad to see others are not detered or have not had occurences of debt affecting them, but you said BANKRUPTCY. Call USCIS and ask. You have at least two years before she gts close to getting here so you have decisons to make and to come up with a plan.

The affidavit is the US citizen showing the government that they can support the new immigrant until they are allowed to work, and then some. My package (all thre) had three years worth of W-2s, 1099s and Tax forms, plus a couple of paycheck stubs. Honestly, I have spoken with folks on here who have been bankrupt, and I remember a forum on here about financial suipport - it IS NOT impossible, but it doesn't make it easier either.

I also have seen statistics on countries immigrants come from, and the poorer the country by US standards, the harder the embassy looks.Not to scare you, but that was a realistic assessment of the process, and she is interviewed by Filipinos at several points before she gets to the US Embassy employee. Your finances are key there becuase they are also looking out for the welfare of their citizen. They unfortunately have cases of girls that are more like indentured servants than wives.

To offset the bankrupcy, keep e-mail logs, IM logs, phone and text bills, letters, cards and packages. So them the love is ral, and make a difference in your current situation - That is the strongest way for you to get through this.

DHL or USPS would be my recommendation. DHL's tracking is better than USPS and their track record is far better than any other courier. Check with them first to make certain they deliver where you need your package delivered.

My fiancee lives in Bulacan (Philippines) and we've been using fedex as our means of sending papers/documents and other stuff! As far as tracking is concern... its good... and the timeline when it will arrive were almost exact as they said!
So I say Fedex for me.... now its for you to decide!!

We called the embassy number and spoke to the lady there. She also gives you your medical date (Which you can be early for!).

Be sure to pay DelBros fee before interview, to save time there. there is a Metrobank near Philippine Immagration building (north of Rizal park) to get it.

And, when in Ermitta for the clinic, go to the PCIBank next to Cherry Blossoms hotel, and Robinson's mall and pay for the US Customs form required (save a lot of travel)

You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

You're right. The case number is the application number that is written on the Biometrics appointment notice. You need the application number to check your status.
