Hi Carmi! I hope your problem gets fixed soon! It sucks when you are having problems with your petition. :(

By the way, did you wait for NVC to e-mail DS-3032 form before you submitted to them? Did you provide a barcode or you just wrote your Case number on the bar code? Thanks!

I just got my case number today. :)

Hey!! congrats on getting your case number!! that's a great start!! Did you also get your INN? As far as the DS3032, I waited and received it the same day I got my case number. They will send you two different emails. One with info on the AOS bill and instructions, and then another one with the DS3032. We actually sent the DS3032 email format about two days after receiving it (we got it Friday afternoon, sent it Sunday night) but until today we have not received any confirmation at all that they have accepted it. I'm still waiting on that as well :( we are basically stuck right now.. but there's nothing that we can do about it but wait until the AOS cover sheet page is fixed.. and also the DS3032 gets accepted.

Good luck!! and let me know if you have other questions along the way. I would be happy to help out!! :)

The saying goes thus "An experienced patient is better than a doctor". Go for this advise guys.

I am waiting for a couple of more days. They have not confirmed that they received our DS-3032 anyway.. and the IV bill has not been generated.. so maybe if I wait, that would be ready as well and could even send them together.. I don't think that this could delay the process since both packets have to be received and approved by NVC for the case to be complete.. :) However, too bad we have the holiday on Monday and that definitely will slow things down..

I am getting the same message too everytime I try to print the cover letter. I tried all browsers that I know of, installed Windows updates, scanned for virus and yet I still get this runtime error. Please help. Thanks

I have spoken with CSR and I was told that they are currently having some issues with the page and what we can do is in a sheet of paper just print your NVC case number.. and that's it.. for me.. that does not sound too logic.. so I am just waiting to see if the page gets fixed today or tomorrow.. then wait to print it out and send it..

I am trying to print the cover letter from the NVC payment website but when I click on "print" I am getting the following error:

Server Error in '/CTRAC' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Both errors appear on explorer and firefox.. any idea of what this is? Is it the NVC website or is it me? (I am at work)

Thanks!

OMG I never thought of this.. I will have the same issue then once my husband gets here as open enrollment starts on Nov 15 and it will be a year since "life event" took place. Do you guys think that a letter from SSA that you requested SSN will be valid to add husband to insurance policy? In my case my husband should be here in the USA by Nov 10 so we could request SSN the same day. The I94 will do to request SSN? how long does it take to get SSN on the mail?

Yo I have one question, if the petitioner is a U.S citizen and his co-sponsor isnt but does have a green card will it be a problem filing the AOS packages? Or does the co-sponsor have to be a citizen as well?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGetting Married in Brazil
Hey My fiance is currently in Brasil and a Brasilian citizen although I cant tell you what to do I can share with you what I have discovered in my walk down this road. I am 5 months + into my K-1 visa actually called USCIS today for an update. If you plan on living in Brazil and staying their go for it I wish I could do that just no real way for me to make any moeny their been 3 times this year alone and kept my eyes open and tried to see what i could do even with being a native spanish speaker that didnt help. If you Marry in Brazil she wont be able to fly back with you if and when you have to come back , kind of sucks for a newley wed couple... I have also found that the time to process her ability to come her and have the marriage validated etc in the USA is alot more costly and lenthy than the K-1 visa. if time and money is of no concern to you id say go for it and I would have done the same unfortunantly i dont have the time or money to support my standard of living in BR. just some insight from someone 5 almost 6 months into this game. let me know if I can be of any more advise to you. Good Luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Scheduled!
I just finished reading all your posts and Im so very happy for all of you. Im also happy to see that the majority of you have gotten an interview date pretty quickly from Sto Dom. That really gives me hope. I called NVC today and they told me that my package was received in DR today. So I was just wondering how long before the interview is scheduled or even put in the system so I can atleast call back in thatb time frame to ask NVC. Im so nervous specially because you know que en santo domingo todo se mueve con dinero and I was hoping that the people at the consulate wouldnt be that way.

Please keep me updated on ur interview experience I would like to know what my fiance and I should get prepared for.
Good luck to all and believe me when i say that im so happy for all of you!

Middle East and North AfricaSTAMPED PASSPORT TODAY,GC IN MAIL...HAPPY!!!!!!
actually they opened up at 10 am in balt., but we had a 9am apt, we still went. its been jan.21st since our interview, and we heard nothing, we called uscis, talk to supervisor, n they said still pending, so we got to infopass today, n dey called the lady that interviewed us, and she was the person who told me..""ooh,n 2 weeks u will hear something..'" so they asked her about our file and she said'' she was not done yet and she does not know when she will be done reviewing it, n the clerk told my husband n i check back n a month, by this time by mouth was dragging the floor, like i couldn't believe this,so i quietly but nicely said...'could i please speak with a supervisor..' the lady said yes, sit down, so i noticed a guy came to a window looking at a file, n then he called us and ask for my husband's passport and his EAD,stamped his passport for 6months and said told my husband that he will receive his GC within 2 to 4 weeks......if we did not ask to speak to a supervisor,we would have come back home and our file would have still been sitting in front of somebody......... Guys if you dont hear back from uscis please dont stop making infopass....good luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan someone please help me out?
Hello everyone, My name is Akbar and I am from the State of Maryland. I have a wife that is located in Karachi. After the Osama Bin Laden thing, it is getting worse and worse, and I fear the worse. The Taliban and the wars are right where she lives. I was their for an entire month and just returned on the 24th of May.

I am going to be filing for a Spousal Visa. I am hearing a few things but people and the research I have done is saying to file a CR1 vs a K3.

I know that this is the following materials and documents I will need

1. Marriage Documents
2. Legal Divorce Certificate (I was married before)
3. Two passport style pictures from her and I
4. Pictures of our wedding
5. A Cover Letter
6. Copy of my passport and ticket stubs
7. Copy of her NIC and Passport

I am not sure what else I need and I can not find this CR1 form anywhere on the net. Can someone also tell me if I am able to put her name on my bank account and on our home that I bought this year? And how to register our marriage with the state? I am a bit lost for as I was planning to do a Fiance Visa but now I have to do a Spousal instead. Can someone please give me proper guidance on what to do and what is missing from the Visa Kit?

Thank you

Middle East and North AfricaFor MikeAndMichelle
Mike,

When you attend your visa interview you will be found inadmissible as a class A drug addict. There is no waiver available for this. You must remain in remission from any drug use for a period of 3 years in order to receive a Visa. Which means you're looking at June, 2009 being the earliest you can expect to receive your visa. Your only possible way out of this is if you told the medical examiner that you only used once or twice and that it was purely experimental (the law allows for generally one use on an experimental basis). If you did not say that, it is really too late, since the doctor makes the decision, not the Consular Officer. You can only hope to file an Advisory Opinion with the Department of State in Washington, DC. This must be done by an attorney, and it will be hard for you to find one with experience in filing them. That is the only appeal for a Consular Officer's decision, and your only chance of overcoming the 3 year bar. As for the drug situation...yes, it was a very dumb move to be taking drugs before your medical exam, and no, you're not the only one to have made mistakes in this process. I personally don't think you are a drug addict, unfortunately, this kind of mistake can have very serious consequences.

I forgot to mention that as a condition of receiving your Visa at the end of 3 years, you must prove that you have undergone treatment for the drug problem and that you have been clean the whole time (this can be achieved through a rehab program and periodic drug tests).

Middle East and North AfricaHenia, how's Algeria?

I'm always up for a good round of Hare Krishna...and every time I see the member "Rahma" I think of that song...

Hmmm, haven't heard of that song. rahma is my husband's nickname for me - Mercy in arabic. I wonder what it means for them?

My friend went during college to many different religious celebrations (for world religions class) and one of the best things she learned was Hare Krishna. I don't know their spelling of Rama but it goes like this:

Hare Krishna
Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna
Hare Hare

Hare Rama
Rama Rama
Krishna Krishna
Hare Hare

It's a very joyful song, and since we don't know the meaning, it's probably not cool to be singing it, but we couldn't help ourselves!!

hey sarah i will tell you how i am still here.... because UNBIASED people have looked at the threads and have seen how you MEAN girls have trashed my relationship time and time again. you all felt it was your place to tell me i am bad for samir and blah blah blah. samir even said today i am a grwon man where is it thier place to say those things... him and i have been together now for 3 years ....if i was sooooo intelerant he wouldnt tolerate me or marry me and his family wouldnt love me so much. and jamie had no business what so ever bringing up what was suppossed to be kept between meriem and i. so now she got a taste of her own medicine. i was betrayed by someone who i thought was my friend that i could confide in.... so with all of that the truth about jamie is out. she doesnt even know if her case will go thru because she tried to sneak a man across the border from canada and got busted at the border. maybe that is why she is so bitter. she will get what is coming to her.

Hey-that's not your business to be telling! Why don't you leave Jamie alone, huh?

Middle East and North AfricaUpdate on the denial

Just_Waiting...a question for you...why are you so upset that people are trying to offer helpful advice? I mean, people don't have to help out at all, but everyone's trying to tell you all the best way to move on from here, and you guys are all upset about it. I just don't get that. Wouldn't you like to know what's the best next step to take? I thought that's what these forums were all about. Just because people are saying that her chosen next step isn't a wise one, that's not saying we're picking on her or being mean...rather, everyone just wants to see her succeed. I don't see what the problem is with that.

ETA: I addressed Just_Waiting, because supposedly Jabree is no longer reading this thread.

Wow.

jabree and just waiting, this comment from this woman is one you should really pay attention to. If you knew Heina's backhistory you'd understand why I think her comments are so noteworthy.

She's taken her share of 'advice' on this board....and has come to this conclusion. Apparently she feels that there were times when she got 'advice' here she didn't really like, but later on thought better of it.

I think it's called maturity. And common sense.

Honestly, I would not have ever made the decision to pursue the I-130 without the people from VJ. There are many times when I have been offered advice, and have resisted it because it came across harsh...now I can see all that as invaluable, and I am grateful. That's why I don't like to see all these good people who took the time to type out these thoughtful responses "shamed." Seriously, if you don't want advice, you don't have to take it...but it's only a matter of time before you'll be back crying that your way didn't work, and if only you had listened...been there, done that.

kinda like a rite of passage on vj, isn't it?

Seems like it. Maybe one of these days we'll all learn to be a little bit nicer to each other. Even though life isn't all sunshine and lollipops, as everyone continuously points out over and over again, that doesn't exactly give people an excuse to come on here and be so blatantly inconsiderate and downright rude to other people. I mean nobody acts this way in real life (I HOPE not), so why do we have to be so ugly to each other on here?
