Lots of patience is needed during this part of the process, do your best to just keep yourself occupied. It's what saved me when we were waiting once we submitted the paperwork. It just seems to go on and on... Gotta run... ceviche is on the table! Sunday morning/afternoon tradition already here in the States with us. It was when I lived in Peru too, ha ha! Take care people. Vi Hi! My fiance is from Peru too... needed a little break from preparations for the interview on Thursday in Lima. So here I am! David is from Chimbote. I've spent a bunch of time there. It's amazing how one is able to get used to the poverty that is in that city when you live there a while. I was there all summer (almost 2 months, winter for them) and I've taken 3 other short trips there as well. I still enjoyed myself when I was there tho regardless of the poverty. Spent time with good people, his family and friends. That's what life revolved around, because money for other stuff like vacations, etc. isn't really there. There is an American church just a few blocks away from where he lives that does a lot of relief work in the neighborhood. Lots of Americans come down and work for chunks of time, so weird to keep running into them down there! They were the only other Americans that I saw. Tourists don't go to Chimbote, ha ha! People asked me all the time if I worked with the church because they were so surprised to see una "gringa" (my name in the neighborhood, what a surprise) living there. I really liked Trujillo and Huanchaco though. Maybe I didn't see enough of Trujillo to notice the kind of poverty that exists in Chimbote. Chan Chan was pretty amazing. There is poverty in the US, but to me it seems different because there are social programs set up to take care of people in bad situations. The social system isn't set up like that down there, ya know?? Had a long talk with one of David's relatives when I was there about this. But how could the country start social programs like we have in the States when so many people don't pay taxes because they can't afford to?? OK, back to interview prep! Una vez llega el permiso de trabajo puedo empezar a buscar empleo inmediatamente?..... o debo primero actualizar mi ssn card ? o esta se cambia solo hasta que llegue a Green Card como dice Diana? Rta: Con el permiso de trabajo, puedes ir a actualizar tu seguro social, o puedes esperar a que te llegue la Green Card. El SSV emite tres tipos de tarjeta, miralas AQUI. Y si puedes también comenzar a trabajar inmediatamente. 2. No tengo pensado salir de Estados Unidos en estos meses pero no obstante, es recomendable sacar el Advanced Parole? o solo si lo necesito, o mejor hacerlo aunque no lo use...? igual está incluido en los USD 1010...no? Rta: El Advanced Parole va incluido en los $1010 dolares que das para el ajuste de estatus. Es bueno siempre hacerlo porque uno nunca sabe cuando pueda necesitarlo durante el tiempo que estemos en el proceso del ajuste. 3. Se adjunta al paquete de AOS el NOA2 y también el formulario de 129f? o solo el NOA2 que aprueba este? Rta: Al paquete de AOS se adjunta copia de la NOA2 (o sea la aprobación de la petición). Igual, te traes lo de las vacunas porque tambien es para el ajuste. Las evidencias tambien, aunque esas fueron de novios, pero ahi se mete una que otra como para agrandar el paquete el dia de la entrevista para el ajuste, desde ahopra te digo traten de recolectar la mayor evidencia pero de su nuevo status aqui como casada. Es más fácil y más barato si lo hacen en Colombia antes de venir a los EE.UU. Manden traducir unos 3 registros civiles de nacimiento por si acaso y les sale como en $18.000 pesos cada uno. Acá les sale en $50 dólares más ó menos. La (A)(6) por lo que entendi junto con mi esposo, es para pedir el permiso de empleo durante los 90 dias que estamos aqui como fiance mas no como esposas, por lo que pude leer, siempre dice fiance. Los documentos hay que presentarlos de nuevo, porque esta es una nueva peticion de nosotros ya como esposas de ciudadano americano. La G325A se debe presentar pero con la informacion actual, pero si te fijas el Affidavid of support para el ajuste es la I-864, en cambio para la peticion de fiance se utilizo la I-134. Son formularios para diferentes procesos pero iguales en su contenido para llenar, variando en algunos puntos. 2. Tambien tuve esa inquietud, y es a tu deseo. Si quieres hacerlo con el apellido de soltera esta bien, o tambien con el de casada. 3. En cuanto al tiempo tranquila, que hay muchos que todavia no ajustan aun venciendose el plazo de la K1, pero segun las leyes que lei, tienes seis meses para ajustar despues de vencida tu I-94. Dejas pasar los tres días y puedes ir a recoger la licencia, ésta es valida por 30 días, osea te puedes casar dentro de los siguientes 30 dias (asi es en WI) 3. Si la ceremonia va a ser en la corte, al momento de recoger la licencia haces una cita. Tienen que llevar a dos testigos para que firmen en tu certificado el día de la ceremonia. 4. El certificado se puede recoger 8 días hábiles después de que realizan la ceremonia ahí mismo en la corte y tienes que sacar copias certificadas. 5. Para iniciar AOS tienes que incluír copia del certificado de matrimonio Como les comento cada estado puede que sea diferente pero al menos así es en Wisconsin buena suerte a todos! Me refiero a la situacion que vivimos con mi esposo, bueno nos vamos a casar el miercoles porque llamamos hoy y nos dijeron que hoy no se podia sino hasta despues de manana.. Asi que he buscado una informacion interesante para aquellas personas que no saben donde casarse, segun el estado donde residan. Aqui coloco a continuacion un link donde podran ver las cortes, sus horarios, y puedan certificar de como operan para un matrimonio: NATIONAL CENTER FOR STATE COURTS Y tambien encontre un link interesante donde podran ver como opera cada una, segun el estado donde residan, los costos varian asi que es preferible llamar a la corte y preguntar. Por favor verifiquen que ustedes ya estan casados y han hecho los pasos correspondientes. No todo estado tiene iguales parametros para el matrimonio, por ejemplo, en mi caso, aqui en Florida, es de la siguiente manera: "Ir a la corte, llenar unos formularios, llevar consigo los pasaportes de ambos, luego cancelar el valor de la licencia $93,50. Luego, regresar de nuevo a la corte en tres dias, esta vez para el matrimonio civil, llevar las argollas, y los $30 que cuesta la ceremonia, te dicen despues que el certificado de matrimonio les llegara por correo.
