US Citizenship General DiscussionRequest for Additional Documents at Interview

I received a yellow notice yesterday to provide additional documents at my interview (which has yet to be scheduled :bonk: )

The documents that they want me to bring are relatively benign, for question 16D I answered yes because I had been cited for 2 speeding tickets while in the US. I went to the courthouse and received notarized copies of my dockets and provided them with my N-400 (they prove both ticket's were paid). Unfortunately, I realized after the fact that I sent in the original copies of the dockets with my application. So...

Do I go out and get two more notarized copies to show my speeding tickets were paid?

or

At my interview do I tell the IO that the original documents are included with my application?

I simply got copies, not notarized,of paid tickets and took them to the interview none of which were asked for!

Also expect actual letter in 2 to 4 weeks! Hang in there

I applied for expedited Passport today in Dc. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.

My interview experience.

My appointment was at 9:30 . Arrived in the building at 8:45. Got called at exactly 9:00. IO asked if I preferred to go over the application first or the test. i told her to get the test done. She asked me to hold on to find out if she can get in into the oath ceremony happening within an hour before she starts the questioning so that i can go straight up after. I felt that was good news I'm yet to answer one question and she was already preparing my Naturalization Certificate. She asked me to go over the spelling of my name to make sure it was correct. She checked and told me sorry. It does not look like they can get the certificate ready on time. She asked me when I could come back for the ceremony. I told her Next Friday. She said well next Friday it is then . Then we got to the real interview.

1. who is the president of the USA
2. What is the rule of law
3. What ocean is on the east coast
4. Who is the vice President
5. What does the cabinet do
6. What is the state with the highest population: huh ???? I told her was that a trick question as it is not in the study guide. She smiles as said if you get this you pass. i told her California. She then said congratulations and asked me to write it down.

She then asked me all the questions in my application . She bust out laughing when she asked me how many children I had and I answered non that I'm aware off.

She then printed the oath letter for me. We spent the next 10 mins talking about non immigration related chit chats.

So here is how my interview went. Got there early around 9:45am, and my appointment was for 10:30am. Omg, the line outside was so long just to enter the building. Went to the front desk to give them my letter, then the lady told me have a seat and wait til my name being called. The room was so packed. While waiting I saw people studying for there test. Lol it made me feel better because, I have not finish reading the whole book yet. I then took my mine out started cramming every questions that I was having hard time on. After 10:50am, I started getting inpatient. I waited for 2 hours before they called my name. Finally arround 12:15am, the lady called my named. We went into her office. She then ask me to pull out my green card, passport, drivers license. She then went right into the testing. She ask some questions that you wouldn't even expect like:

1. Why did the colonists fight the British?
2. What happened at the constitutional convention?
3. What territory' did the united states buy from France in 1803?
4. Name one problem that led to the civil war?
5. During the cold war, what was the main concern of the United States?

She then said excellent and went right into the interview. And ask me if I want to participate in the ceremony at 2pm. I told her yes, but she told me to hold on, she will have to go and check to see if there is still space left. she came back and said sorry, that spot is full and she then put me for the Oath Ceremony at 9am this Friday 06/22/12. She said congratulations and you have one more step on Friday and you are done.(after that my heart felt relieved). I left happy and can't wait for this Friday to finally be over.

Good luck Cash! :star:

go to the yahoo group zweipaesse. tell your husband to start reading all the approved BBG's in the archive. the people there will also help him if he really doesnt know what to do. i got my BBG last year and it took 8 weeks. i dont know what to tell you about the oath. your best bet would be to wait till Brother Hesekiel answers you. he knows about all that stuff and i am sure he will give you the best advice.
good luck

US Citizenship General DiscussionMay 13 Houston citizenship interview successful.
QUOTE (peejay @ May 14 2008, 09:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My wife successfully had her scheduled citizenship interview on May 13. I went with her for morale support even though it was not required that I be there. The letter said for us to be at the Houston office at 7:40 AM. We got inside on time after waiting in line for security screening. (A tip: No cell phones and cameras allowed. You will not be allowed in with them. We already knew that and left the phones in the car.) We placed her letter in the box at the window and waited for her name to be called. She was called in a little after 8:00 AM and the interview took about 30 minutes. We were out of there before 9:00 AM.

She will have to wait for her official letter stating the date of her naturalization ceremony, but the interviewer told her that the next ceremony is on June 12 and most likely she will become a US citizen then. This is months earlier than we predicted when she filed in October 2007.

The interviewer asked her 10 civics questions out of the 96. She passed the English proficiency test easily. She was an English teacher in Belarus and the interviewer was impressed with that fact. The interviewer asked a lot of questions about my wife, me, and our marriage. The interviewer also looked at the documents my wife was required to bring, but did not keep any of them. We brought originals and copies.

That's it in a nutshell.

Congratulations!

We are close too. The struggle will be over soon smile.gif. I am planning on sending a N-600 for the kids to cross the T's and dot the I's.
