Incorrect....AOS always have an interview....ROC (If you have filed jointly) there is a very minute chance that there will be an interview ...ROC(Filing for a waiver) most definately there will be an interview...

Not true - lots of people have their AOS approved without having to have an interview. We sure did!

Same here. I arrived on K1 on June 2006. Applied for AOS in August 2006. Approved without interview in June 2007.

I travelled home to Sweden for 2 weeks, bringing my extension letter. No update on the USCIS website the whole time.
When I returned back this weekend the approval letter was waiting in the mail pile! No RFE, no interview (again)!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTraveling on an extension letter
I travelled with the GC and extension letter to Sweden and back. No problem when returning.

Should not cause any problems. A word of advice though - make photocopies of both the GC and the extension letter and keep them in a safe place. You never know what could happen.

Good advice. I had two sets of copies, just to be on the safe side...

Some members even reported that when they entered the US, the officer did not ask for the letter and the GC was enough since the system will show that it is extended for a year... but take it with you!!!

I had to show the extension letter at check-in in Sweden, and explain what it meant in order to get on the plane (they seemed a little confused about it). When I entered the US the CBP officer only looked at my (expired) GC. I tried to show him the extension letter but he said it wasn't necessary. I guess he could see that the GC was extended anyway.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMy Wife's greencard has expired

You should have filed 90 day before the expiration to remove the conditional residency. Since, it's already expired and did not filed I-751, that would be a big problem. Failure to properly file Form I-751 within the 90-day period shall result in the automatic termination of the alien's permanent residence status and the initiation of proceedings to remove the alien from the United States.

So I can still file the I-751 and be fine right? As long as everything is filed correctly? What are the most important things to have along with the I-751 form? Pictures, insurance cards, apt lease with both of our names? anything else or is that good enough?

I did with no problems

Just wondering if anyone send their i-751 package to VSC via Fedex. I saw that the other Service Centers had a PO Box address (which would make that a no-no), but VSC doesn't. So was wondering if anyone has had any problems (specifically with VSC).

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTSC is slowing down again??
Not correct,

CSC shows Aug 21 Which is OK
NSC shows Aug 07 a small slow down
TSC shows Jul 25 A bigger slow down
VSC shows Aug 02 a small slow down

CIS will show a 6 month date if they are ahead or at 6 month. Dates shown show that they are slowing down.

:crying:

That's too bad. I just checked the other service centers and they've moved on to August.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Approved..... I think?????
If they are ordering your card your approved!

Congrats

Hi

I just received an email from the CSC stating that my card has been ordered and should be with me in 30 days.
Does this mean i have been approved.? I know it sounds obvious but that has been so quick that I am, understandably I think, a little suspicious.
I mailed my package in to CSC on about 6th Jan, went for Biometrics last week and today Ireceived this email

pplication Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On February 23, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

Anyone know if this is really good news or am I jumping the gun?
thanks

Welcome back.

Wow...I can't believe it is almost 2 years since our first GC interview. We just sent our 751 to VSC on March 1 and today they cashed our 205.00 check. Hopefully my beautiful organized packet is enough for them....and more importantly...hopefully VSC catches up a bit on their 751's. Wishing everybody a smooth process from here!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 with no passport scans

westy,

Why would you want to photocopy the visa pages of your passport for I-751?

Yodrak

It's just another photocopy I know many have included. I realize it's not a requirement (in fact very little is truly REQUIRED). It comes down to one of those cases of weighing out offering the bare minimum (not my choice) but also not wanting to overwhelm the USCIS official that will be reviewing the package.

I can see the visa scan at least being of interest to USCIS since in my package right now NONE of the document I am providing were issued by USCIS except the permanent resident card.

Anyhow....I'm not gonna sweat it.

Wish me luck gang....I'll probably send my package tonight or tomorrow morning.

One last question....did I read that there was an issue using FedEx to deliver to TSC? Since the address is a PO Box? I was planning on using FedEx if possible.

Thanks!

Only the US Postal Service can deliver to a PO Box.

Also Welcome back, starting to recognize some of the old names :innocent: :innocent: :innocent:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAccount numbers on evidence
I did it a little different.

I didn't send a bank statement. I send a personnel check and a copy of the check, as evidence. Since The check had our address and names on it. It also cleared  so they know it's a good account. Since VSC is slow I don't know if this was good enough.

I am ready to send in my wife's I-751 with evidence of relationship. One of the evidence is our bank statement with our names on it. My question is how comfortable are you sending in the copy of your bank statement with account number on it. Should I black out the account number with a sharpie before sending it in?

Thanks.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionConditions removed for wife & stepdaughter.

We filed the I-751 to remove conditions for my wife and 21 years old stepdaughter in October 2006 with NOA1 dated 11/1/2006.

If any VJ members remember...I was very unsure about whether to file my stepdaughter jointly as my wife's dependent child or separately since she was already turned 21 years old. Fortunately we filed them both together jointly and saved money by doing so since my stepdaughter piggybacked on my wife's single fee. My stepdaughter's status is derived through her mother and our marriage regardless of the fact that my stepdaughter was already 21 years old. The proof is in the fact that both were issued Green Cards. This is FYI in case someone else is in a similar situation with an adult child.

Anyway, I was quite surprised this morning when I called home from work and my wife informed me that the 10 year Green Cards arrived in the mail in separate envelopes and are valid until March 6, 2017.

I have kept up with the processing times for the I-751 at Texas Service Center and the last update of February 20 (posted as of today) stated that they were currently working on I-751 dated July 25, 2006. So I did not expect any activity on our cases any time soon.

So...to just get these 10 year Green Cards in the mail without an interview or expectation that they would be issued so soon was quite a shock. We are relieved and happy.

Unfortunately the USCIS misspelled my stepdaughter's last name by one letter. They spelled it with an "o" instead of an "a". Good grief! Of course we will have to get it corrected.

Best wishes to all.
PJ

Congrats PJ from a G7 buddy :innocent: :innocent:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAttempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the app receipt number.
It happens a lot with I-751's. I think it's a glitch with their Comp system.

The number is

processing center = EAC
Fiscal year = 07
day of Fiscal year = 025 this would be Oct 25
Some number = 5 or 0 if this isn't 5 it doesn't work on their system
number of submission for that day 0000

So, I called today the USCIS in regards to what is going on with my I-751....since I sent it a long time ago and I didn't even received my 1 year extension. They told me they dont know what happened but that I should get it in about 45 days from today....we'll see. They gave me a receipt number (that I already had from one of their "request for evidence"- they needed another address) and I attempted to check my status online through their website.
This is the message I get:
"Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

* Customer Portfolio Insert Failed
* Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the app receipt number. "

I called again and they reconfirmed that the receipt number is correct, and yet...the system keeps on telling me that my case doesn't exist. Does anyone know what is going on? Is it only a glitch in the system or should I be worried?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNew dates are out

The CSC date is a bit misleading. Several folks here that have gone through the CSC recently have had approval times of 2-3 months. These are applications sent in 12/06 and 01/07 so they must be processing beyond the date they have on their site.

751 dates in date order
CSC 09/13/2006
VSC 09/01/2006
TSC 08/23/2006
LIN 08/13/2006

NSC aug 19, 2006

CIS says on their site that the will only show the dates that are outside their processing range. They expect I-751 to be done in 6 month. March 15 reporting date means Sep 15. So if you see a 9/15 date it could be anywhere from 1 day to 6 month. The important dates are the ones outside the 6 month date. Which mean those centers are behind.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTSC is working
Congratulations

Sure wish VSC would hurry up!

As strange as this might sound when you look at the processing times for TSC... they DO work. I have no clue what happened but this is how it worked out for me and my daughter:

I751 sent on October 2, 2006
Check cleared TSC on October 5th, 2006
Notice of action received October 13th, 2006
Biometrics Houston November 2, 2006
Approval email sent March 13th, 2007
Cards sent in mail March 19th, 2007

So, for a while now, my journey is over. Cannot say I regret that

Good luck and speedy approvals for everyone.
