I agree with Angel why have your husband go thru this stuff if they knew they were going to "soft deny" him?

Middle East and North AfricaCan I vent?????
Disclaimer: I am just venting and I appoligize now if I say something that may offend you.

I have been reading these forms and here people complain on how long things are taking, I can't get any answers etc..........then when they do get word that an interview is coming up in a week or so then complain that they dont have enought time to get the paperwork together, I can't get off work to attend the interview...blah blah blah, then want to rescedule the interview for their convience then they will be complaing on why is it taking so long. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I just amazes me on the thought pattern of some people.

If you were at the stage where you KNEW a visa appointment could be coming up wouldn't you have already started gathering up stuff and getting the documents started especially if it invovled another country?

Okay done venting, I am going back to my corner and wait like a good little girl. :innocent:

congrats Karen,

But I think I missed something, you said that he got a 221(g) for what. Aren't they only used for soft denials to hard denials? I have never heard anyone get as 221(g) to say they were approved. Please clarify because I am confused.

Thanks

Middle East and North AfricaE-Mail from CASA today
congrats Mary,

Did they tell him how long it will be before he could pick up his passport? They told Saoudi it would be a week and today makes a week and no word.

I did call the embassy this morning and the told me it still could be 3 to 4 weeks because they are waiting on more info to come back from the US.

Now I am not a rocket scientist or anything but would it not had made more since to have all of the paperwork already done and gathered before they called these men and put them thru more stress by waiting. Saoudi wants to get his ticket but he is scared to just incase they don't call him soon. This is so frustrating.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I also thank you all for helping me. Its great to have a support group that you can come to. I will not disappear after he gets here.

I think as long as we are married to our spouses we will continue to need support and advise from time to time.

Thanks
Kathy and Saoudi

Does anyone know of a support group for the men? I know there are a couple of them for the women.

LOL @ shon...

I have calmed down and today I am very excited because Saoudi got his VISA today. After all the ###### they put us thru on Mon and Tues, they called Saoudi about 1.5 hours after he talked to them to tell him to come today to pick up his visa. I am so glad that part is over.

Thank you ladies for the encouraging words. I cant believe I am still so anger like I was yesterday. But what really pisses me off is that Mr. McKeever sent an email saying he "visa" was "issued", then you they tell me that we are in "AP". As somone said they dont care about people.

I work for the Gov't but I let my contractors know what is going on.

thanks again.

Middle East and North AfricaI need to scream or beat someone
I am so pissed right now, I have been crying for almost an hour now. For the person I PM, dont worry about responding.

I want to throw my hands up and say ###### it but I love my Fiance. I am so upset I got him upset and started cussing at him and telling him off, the poor man was speachless. I did appoligize for my actions but CASA was and is wrong. I get an email thru my Senator that says the visa was issued then I get an email today via IVcasa...telling me we are in AP. We had been in AP since early part of February. Why in the hell contact him and get our hopes up high that he would get his visa in a week then send me a dumn ### answer telling me that we are in AP.

I am so damn tired of Casa right now that I could go there and knock down everyone in my path until I see Mr. McKeever and knock the ###### out of him. I am appoligize for my language.

I am so tired of being screwed and lied to.

Can someone please explain this to me because I am not comprehending this at this time?

Thanks for letting me vent, I feel a little better but I am still pissed.

Middle East and North AfricaWedding Stuff

We did a full engagement ceremony in Morocco, with about 30 guests. We did the henna party the night before which involved everyone dancing to Arabic music while the henna was put on, then Abdel feeding me dinner in the middle of it.

I was wearing a special dress and jewelry that were rented for the event. A girl did my hair and makeup special before the ceremony.

The next morning they cleaned the henna stuff off, and the girl that had done my hair and makeup came back and did it again. They had two more dresses with jewelry that day. I started in one dress and Abdel and I walked into the room where everyone was holding hands.

The milk and dates were set out for us and we each fed the other a bite of the date, then each gave the other a sip of the milk from a bowl. There was a bowl for each of us. After that we exchanged our rings. Somewhere in there I was taken back into the other room to change into the other dress. After the ceremony we had to have pictures taken with every single guest there, and then we were allowed to change back into our regular clothes and come back in and dance together as a couple in front of the guests.

Abdel wants to do a full ceremony, which he says lasts a week, when we are able to go back. It includes the couple being carried through the streets in the chairs on men's shoulders.

I have pictures of the milk and dates ceremony and actually quite a few from the entire thing, so if you need details I can send pictures of whatever detail you want. His family took over 300 pictures.

Good Luck and have fun!

Honey, I would like to see some pictures. I am surprising my fiance with the date and milk at our american wedding. My email address is b4mee@yahoo.com.

Middle East and North AfricaRFE!
Jenn, Why would you not include the 2005 tax year forms? Did they ask for that year? I would send in whatever they want so you will not get another RFE if they chose to send you one. just my 2cents worth.

Same deal for us. Although after having checked everything over, I'm afraid I may have neglected to include my 2004 W2. I'm not going to rush and do my taxes for 2005. It doesn't make sense that they could require those before April 15. I'm sending an updated employment letter (my first didn't include number of hours worked per week as they explicitly say on the RFE).

The good news is though that the statement about the EAD is less ominous than it sounds. If you look at it again, you'll see that it says interim employment authorization. You know how you can apply for an interim EAD if you haven't gotten it by 90 days past NOA1? Well now, you can't apply for the INTERIM EAD until 90 days after receipt of the missing evidence. They should continue processing the EAD as normal once they receive your response.

Hope it works out for you - I feel your pain!

Middle East and North AfricaKathy and Saoudi's Countdown Thread
Hello Ladies and thanks

LOL at who is Kathy and Saoudi...lol

I have been trying to get everything together but you know somethings just dont go the way they are suppose to. I spent 11 hours getting my car fixed to day at Sears. :-( It took all of my banking, comforter washing and cleaning time. But I will do what I can and get some rest so that I can make it to NYC in the morning.

Poor Saoudi is so nervous he will not go to sleep. I told him to try to get some rest, but he said he is to nervous to sleep. His friend will be driving him to the airport they will be leacing in a few hours to get there by 8am.

I will post once he arrives.
