IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIV fee reduction?????
Hello all,
We just got our email requesting payment for our IV fee.... I thought I was told the fee would be $408, however this email is saying the fee is only $230.... Now before I start my little happy dance because I have a little extra cash in my pocket, can someone let me know if this is true. When I checked the website it says the fee is $420... I am a little confused with all the conflicting information.....

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp!!!!!

I'm hoping someone can clarify this for me... I thought that the NVC only used the documents provided in the original petition packet. If they need both the police record and the court record, wouldn't cases get RFEs from the VSC or CSC before even reaching the NVC? And then, wouldn't it be the Consulate in Casa that would require the updated court/police records for the interview (and thus again, not the NVC)?? Am I missing something here??

Yes for the CR-1 visa you do have to send the police record when you first apply but you also have to send to NVC. I am just finding out that you need 2 for NVC 1 from the police station and 1 from the courts...

Thanks for your response Ukhti I meant for my income verification in morocco we plan to marry insh Allah in March and I wonder if my unemployment record would suffice or if I should take my taxes and my massage licensures I will only have a month in Maroc and I want things to be seamless as possible soo I heard your sooo exciting awesome news when will he be here I am soooo happy for you both and hope that this year we will have success in this journey as well Insh Allah Ameen!

Ameen.... Thanks Sis. Insha'allah all will go well for you and you husband

OH.... Ok... I would take all of then... I felt like I was at a job inteview when we went to one of our many stops to get married... LOL... We were married in Fes. I gave the guy a copy of my resume and he asked me to explain for all gaps in employment. I was not working at the time but the lady at a company that I did temp work for wrote me a letter of employment and I had done some temp work for them just before I went so I had recent pay stubs.... They may accept your unemployment along with your other income info, so I would just take it all.

My husband had to have some dental work done so we are plnning for him to come on feb 12th insha'allah...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical examination/ Job verification for marriage

Good day, so it seems our sent back K1 visa was sent to the California service center and they responded that it had expired no explantion or anything ill attach the file, so we are looking to move ahead in a marriage in Maroc insha Allah! I need some recommendations of doctors in Rabat that are not all in your business if you know what I mean  also I am currently unemployend and receiving unemployment I am a massage therapist and always licensed and current can I take that as verification as self employment and my taxes or should I use my unemployment benefits??any insight is sooo greatly appreciated private message me if you want more details as I do not want to much of my business on a forum thanks again. Sorry the letter is upsidedown I tried many times to fix it

This happen to us in 2010. I returned in 2011 and we married there..... We only tried for the K-1 because we were told it was faster..... In my opinion the CR-1 was much easier.... Anyhoo... I have no advice concerning doctors in Rabat.... But I do know that unemployment is not counted as income. Your current income must meet the guidelines for the year which your petition was filed. If not you will need a sponsor.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDenied i-129 now going CR1 route

Front loaded means to include as much supporting evidence as possible... even stuff they dont ask for... any and everything that you can come up with.... think of that proves your marriage is real... Your marriage has to look believable on paper.... they dont care how much you love each other or how badly you want to be with one another

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDenied i-129 now going CR1 route

hey guys!! just curious as to if any of you were denied previously with a fiancé visa and decided to do the spousal petition. we never got anything stating why we were denied so i have mailed in paperwork for the freedom of information act. until hearing anything from them i am focusing on returning and getting married and moving forward with the spousal petition. was curious as to if you guys front loaded with forms and reports and etc etc... i am OCD about organization and i plan plan plan so I'm getting ahead of myself and asking questions early so that i know what I'm getting into and what to expect. hope you guys have an amazing weekend whether you are with your loved one or far apart, alhamdulillah for Skype and the internet!! :-)

Courtney

As you know we were also denied the K-1 ad went on to file for CR-1... I front loaded ours

I never said the person was not A citizen.... And if a person was sent here to go to school then one would assume their english would be a bit better.... And I would also think it would be safe to assume that the person has gone through certian aspects of the immigration process, so there should be someone around her to help her out..... I just think it is a strange situation.......

And also I thought I would mention that the fee to apply for a fiance visa has went up this month and I think it is now cheaper to do the CR1 for sure in my opinion even with the running around to get marriage documents completed it comes out cheaper. So if you are planning to go to Morocco again marriage might be the best route.

It did go up and I agree :0)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease reply me fast...

Hi evrybody again and thank you for all your important replies..I wish good luck to everybody..Well from all your replies,I think it is possible to refile again,so we need to gather more evidences and show that we are always in contacts for the next interview..We will refile to win time, because the timing of our seeing each other in morocco is good..Then I will vist my fiance in Morocco and for sure I will be with him in the next interview, this how we see thing now..Hope to hear from you and thank you so much for your support..

I visited my "fiance" husband twice in a 10 month period. we met in Feburary of 2009 and I visited the first time in september for 3 weeks and we had our party about 4 days before I left. My second visit was april/may 2010 for 5 weeks. his interview was april 26th I git there a couple of days before.... He was not told anything just to come back 3 days later.... But it was odd to me because usaully if you are approved they ask for your passport and tell you they will call you. So I called but got nothing. 3 days later he went back and was given a letter saying he was not eligable and other was checked as the reason. I called again and told them I was there in Morocco and would like to try to clear any issues up while I was there and still I got nowhere I was told I needed to request info via email so I did I was then told that our application was sent back for further review...

Really I think the whole process is a money mill.... I would strongly suggest you request the consulates notes from your interview so that you know why you were denied before you pay another fee to file another application. The US government will keep on taking your money..... And if you are able to go back for a visit I would suggest just getting married while you are there. I hope everything works out for you :0)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease reply me fast...

I had requested a FOIA and then after 10 months of waiting my Senators office told me it was holding up our case to be reviewed. I never got the FOIA and any review on my first k1. From what I heard it's very rare to find out the consular's notes(at least from Morocco).

The request may hold up the review but keep in mind that your applcation would have expired any by the time it has been received by the service center for review in the first place. Sometimes the service centers will ask for additional evidence but more often then not they will just close the case so having the notess will be helpfully in letting you know why you were denied in the first place better preparing you when you file again but if anyone finds themself in this position I would advise not filing another K-1 but to marry in morocco and file the CR-1. Having the notes will help you here as well allowing you to be more prepared for the interview. Having a Moroccan marriage certificate and the knowledge as to why you were denied the first time under your belt can only help you :0)

I also feel the K-1 process is a little more difficult for muslims..... There really is no such thing as engagement or boyfriend/ girlfriend relationships in Islam..... And the so called "engagement party" is really a wedding party from what I have read of the moroccan culture........

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease reply me fast...
it is possible to request the interviewers notes from the interview. I found this info by accident online one night. I can't tell you exactly how to do it now but when I find it I will post it. I do know you have to write a letter requesting the notes. Our letter that he received from the consulate only had other checked as the reason for denial/review...... I think your best bet would be to legally marry in Morocco and file the CR-1 because like someone said before the USA would gladly take your money as many times as you are willing to give it..... So do the CR-1 and make harder for them to deny you.... We haven't received our letter from the service center yet but if they close our case we will just marry in morocco file the CR-1 and pack it with lots of evidence and letters from friends and family..... My first instinct was to file the CR-1 in the first place but against my better judgement I listened to others and filed the K-1 which really is a waste of time, money and energy...... They should do away with it all together.....

When I got home I contacted my Senator, all his office was able to find out was what the email told me.... This is a really frustrating process... Get all your facts together. Letters from both families. Go over the questions asked at the interview. Any possible red flags? Age difference, cultural backgrounds, any divorces, amount of time you knew him before filing, how many times you visited him, how you met, if he has any relatives in the USA, has he applied for any other visa prior to knowing you.....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWondering????

You do not have to wait until you return to file the petition. Sponsorship issues are dealt with after the petition is approved months from now. Yes, permanent residents can act as joint sponsors but I would avoid using the foreigner's family members if possible. Using those family members in the USA to sponsor adds to the suspicion of a fraudulent relationship and you're already dealing with one of the more difficult Consulates. A job of your own, or using your own family as sponsors if needed would be a better choice.

I hope to be working again by that time... Using my family is a no go :( It's been 6 years since I converted to Islam and they still have not come to grips with that.... And when they found out I was marrying someone I met online they thought I had lost my mind..... Would it be posible to use his siblings spouses only?????
