Sunny, this was sent to me by another VJ member, here is an event for Sunday.

Sunday, August 3rd - Celebrate Jamaica's Independence Sunday Market It's held at the Gardens of the Organization of American States -17th Street & Constitution Ave NW. Usually starts about 12pm till 8-9pm. There will be no listings of this even posted....although it's a FREE event, it's by invitation (but they don't check for the invitations. It's free, but food and drinks aren't (used to be...).

I went to Zanabar last night the groups were good. I can't find the information on todays event yet, but I will keep looking. My girlfriend keeps taking about going to the Ball in Baltimore, I really don't think I wants to go to that. We will see.

Talk about your SO and you going out while you are apart. Last night was an example, I am a 12 midnight kind of person. My rule is I needs to be home or headed toward home from an evening out by midnight. So, last night I'm out until midnight, then I head home, because I had drank a couple of martini's, which I normally don't do if I am driving, but I did so I call my husband in JA, to talk to me all the way home. So he talks me all the way home until he hears the alarm in my home as I am taking it off.

I asked him was he going out later, at that time he didn't know. So I falls alsleep, I wake up about 1.5 hours later and I calls him, he is now getting dress to go out. I just tells him to please be safe and to tell the girls I didn't let him go out for them. He laughs at my antics and says its not like that. He did ask me who I was out with, I told him my girlfriend whom he knows. Now I will call him early this morning, to see how he is doing, this is my sutle way of checking up. Ha Ha.

Lawny,
You are really going through tough times. It seems like all hell is breaking loose. Drama at work, ex acting up & now your mother-in-law's death. Know that we are here for you. On May 20th, I had a miscarriage. I bled every day for two weeks. After the second emergency room visit, June 3rd- I was admitted. My father passed away on June 28th. His ###### of a wife never told my sister & I that my Dad was dying. I spoke to my father less than a week before he died. He said that he felt fine. I know what it feels like to lose a parent. I tried to keep active thinking that my grief would go away.

Allow your husband to have his time. If he doesn't want to talk, allow him space. With all that you guys have been through, this has to be FOREVER. Since funerals don't occur as quickly as it does in America, I feel like you have time to get Marcel's AP expedited. Please let me know if there is any thing that I can do to help.

Take care,

Kelia

Sorry to hear about all of what you've been through Kelia.... I also know what it feels like to loose a parent. I lost my father on New Years Day 1995. He was 47... I met Ray on my dad's birthday so I hope he's a blessing to me.

Nanny, I am actually going to pick out the crib and dresser/changing table hopefully next weekend. I've bought things for the baby but not yet for the room. My family said to just wait until the baby shower, which is not going to be until early september but its hard for me to wait that long, I want everything to be ready NOW (just a little anxious).

I did buy the carseat and stroller myself cause I knew the one I wanted was a bit on the expensive side and I did not want to impose that price tag on anyone. I ended up getting this:

Good news from JA.....freakin' finally.......MIL got a job. She's working in the restaurant of Andre's "surrogate mother." Big plus, it is right up the road from where they live.

And, SIL in NY's kids are supposedly going home Tuesday. Tell me if this sounds right to you guy, though......AJ is going to keep an eye on them and make sure they get on and off the plane safely. One will be 6 this fall, the other just turned 3. Do they really do that for kids so young? Can they really be trusted to sit there the whole plane ride and behave? This worries me. On the plus side, 2 less mouths to feed.

So, what I was complaining about yesterday....well, let's just say I have some hope today.

Do your guys ever tell you that when clothes came in the barrel or suitcase from "farrin", they have a special farrin smell. My husband said that whenever things would come from farrin, they would have a certain smell. The sweetest smell in di world, he said. I thought that was so strange, but his whole family concurs. Ever heard of that??

wow.gif yeah I've heard it. A would take all of my clothes out of the suitcase...grab an iron and just start ironing so he could smell the "sweet" farrin smell. I thought it was just my natural smell or pheromones all this time that he was craving. I guess it would be just like the smell that is on our clothes and in our luggage when we get back from Jamaica. I used to cry when I went to unpack...the smell...the little grains of sand that somehow found their way into your luggage no matter how carefully you packed.
I didn't get that smell in Canada or Florida for that matter...so I know it's Jamaica.

Thanks for ruining it! mad.gif mad.gif blink.gif blush.gif crying.gif crying.gif headbonk.gif headbonk.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif

I still do Jawi.... crying.gif I miss Jamaica so much.. Oh yeah, I miss Ray to. yes.gif

Thanks, Sunny --

I told Island Woman yesterday that my family has always told me to pray for patience, because I have none. I'll get frustrated at the drop of a hat. So I've been praying for patience as they said and look what get's dropped in my lap... this long-distance relationship and this damn visa process. If this doesn't make me patient, I don't know what will!!! Be careful what you pray for smile.gif

Thanks again and I will definitely PM you once I get everything squared away.

Your welcome... Just know that I'm here if and when you need me. smile.gif

Unruly,

I can remember how I felt 4 months ago when I was preparing the I-129F packet. I was so overwhelmed, but with the help of the guides and the yardie girls, I handled it. I wish you all the best as you go through the process. It really takes a lot of patience, but you can do it. Hang in there and we'll be praying for you from start to finish.

Hi all --

I'm beginning to prepare the I-129F packet and had a couple of questions for my yardie family. Y'all are such a wealth of info, I thought I would come directly to the sourece. So here goes...

- What is the A# (it asks for it on Part B., question 9)? Does JA have national identification number (similiar to our SSN#) that I should include?

- On the G-325 when I print out the form it gives me 4 copies of the same form. Do I need to fill out all 4 copies for each of us?

- Does my SO need to provide a copy of his birth certificate also?

- What is a non-impediement form? I've seen that on other posts, but unsure of what it is.

- Just so I'm clear that I-129F packet includes the following:
* I-129F form
*G325 for me and my SO
* Passport photos of the post of us
* Letters of intent from the both of us
*Copies of evidence that we've met within the last two years (will copies of trip itineraries and photos suffice)
Am I missing anything?

- Also, is there anything I should be telling my SO to start gathering as we prepare the form and wait for the next steps? He called me today to say he thinks he has his vaccination card, but I think I read on this forum that there may be a new vaccination card that is required now. Any help is appreciated

Thanks, all for your help. I'm sure I'll be leaning on you for your guidance as we officially begin the process.

Here is a link about the new birth certificates. http://www.visajourn...p;#entry1804098

Like JG said don't get the non-impediment and police record yet. The police record is only good for 3 months now so it would just be a waste of money. Use the guides on here and it will tell you exactly how to set it up.

Good luck! And welcome to the wait of your life......... rose.gif I have never had anything test my patience as much as this process.

When Mike had his interview in May/June he was told that the police record was valid for one year. Has that changed recently?

I'll see if I can find where I read it....

Lawny said when Marcel went to pick up his police report they said it's good for one year.

Unruly: You can PM me if you like and I'll be happy to go over the packet with you since I just had to do it.

Thanks Sunny

I am not sure what happened when you called me out, I definately didn't see it. Not even sure where I found the yardie thread. Could ya guide me to the right place? Is it the pinned yardie thread that is titled part 6? If so, would I just post another reply within that thread? Or is it somewhere else? I did read the guides and faq section at the top from the main page and did not see answers to my specific questions, not that they are not there- I just didn't see them.

Thanks

Yes, you were in the right thread. I think I saw you in there a few minutes ago. lol Most of the vets are on Mon-Fri, so someone will anwser your questions soon. I didn't have to use a co-sponsor, so that's why I can't help but trust me there will be an answer here soon. You can actually just leave this thread open and they will find it. I wanted to you know that there's a Yardie thread (Yes, Part 6) and we are there to help anyone that needs assistance with the process. Jomogirl, Forever Young, Hotlegs, Clairen, Sjb1221, Jengles and Trelawny are a few vets. There are others in there that just went throught the process like Awakening 1, and Tnw. Islandwoman and I are almost there, she has an interview set for Sept 2, and I'm awaiting a date. Stop in and say hi...

Hey,

Welcome to VJ!

I called you out when you were in the Yardie thread yesterday, but maybe you didn't see my post. You were in the right place and could have posted your questions there. There are a lot of vets there and many of use are currently going through the process right now. I'm one of them.

Here's the guide to the K-1 Process
http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k1guide

There's also a FAQ link you can click on from that site that talks about co-sponsors. Jump into the Yardie thread and introduce yourself and I promise you that you won't want to leave. lol

Hey my sisters.....I'm married........I'm married. I wish I could share video, because I had the people in the place cracking up. When they asked to repeat for "richer or poorer" I kept saying for "RICHER OR RICHER"...u know I'm crazy. We just woke up. Ceremony was at 11:15 I thought it was going to rain, but the day turned out beautiful. I cannont believe the amount of compliements I received from total stangers today. My dress fit my body perfectly. I'm going to wear it again in 2 years (God's will).

For those of you just starting out, take a deep breath, your SO will be in your arms soon. I just wanted to THANK each and everyone of you for supporting me since Janaury. If I did not have you ladies holding my hand through this process I don't know how I would have survived it. This is not an easy process at all. It can drain you not only financaly, but emotionally as well. I just wanted to send out a heartfelt THANK YOU...I can't say it enough. I've not met some of you and it really doesn't matter. It feels like I've know most of you for years.

We took pictures in the park afterwards and an older couple came over to say CONGRATS...they've been married 55 years and I was like wowwww that's WONDERFUL. The only man winked at Marcel and said "LET HER WIN all the ARGUMENTS"...you'll thank me in 20 years or you'll remember I told you this 20 years from now. Then his wife said, TRUST, LOVE and RESPECT each other (everything else will fall into place) these are the most important things. If you can't trust each other it will never work and to know the difference between being IN-LOVE and LOVE itself. Her husband said, he's always been in-love with his wife and we can ask all 14 of their children. I just laughed. Marriage is a work in progress...everything takes time. What you love about him today, you may hate about him tomorrow.

Ya'll know I had to act a total fool today as I did at the interview. I was dancing in the street. My sister says she's going to send the video to America's Funniest Home Video.

Wow...what I've been waiting on my whole life has finally arrived today. God has truly blessed my husband and I. I never knew I could be sooooo IN-LOVE with another person. I ask God to continue to showering my husband and I with many blessing as we continue to love each other and learn from each other.

Well, ladies, I'm about to cut my cake. It so pretty. I'll take a picture of that too. Now, I have 3 cakes. Sunny (Cake Plus) is the bomb!

Love ya'll and may God continue to shower each and everyone of you with blessings, NOW, TODAY and TOMORROW.

Novelette/Trelawny ---

Now, where is that OVULATION CALENDAR devil.gif rofl.gif

I love ya'll.

Congrats Lawny and tell Marcel the same. I pray that you guy's stay together even longer than the couple you met. I told you I love Cakes Plus. Now your going to make me drive to Laurel for some cup cakes....
