I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I had a blast in New York at my girlfriends. I went from the pool to the hot tub. It was so nice. Sus and Gill, sorry we didn't get a chance to hook up, but there's always a next time. You guy's will have to meet me there the another time. lol I met two nice guy's from Jamaica and we talked and drank beer all night. My sister said aren't you going to come and talk with us a little. lol Well I'm heading to bed now since I just got home. Glad I don't have to wake up and go to work.....

Sounds like a blast Sunny! Any response from Kingston?

Hey girlie,

Oh, we had a wonderful time. No word from Kingston yet, but I talked with Lawny on Friday and she said they seemed to have gotten behind again. Ugh!
So, the wait is on...................

Honey: I'm so glad to hear you talked with your SO and that he got away with just cuts and bruises. He'll be ok and even better when you arrive. devil.gif

Sus: I sure hope we can meet up tomorrow. I've only met one person from this site (Jomo) and we all seem so close. Some of the girls from Maryland need to link-up.

Hey everyone....

going to give a little update on what has been happening....

Kaila is doing great!!! Goes for her 2 month check up on tuesday...she is going to get "gifts" not sure who is going to be more upset she or i.....

in July i am going to file for divorce....there are many things i have come to realize about mike and that he is never going to change or be the man i need him to be....and honestly he was just in it for the GC.....it sucks to realize that....life goes on.....

a lot of things have started to fall into place...so in a couple of months i will start taking classes at a local college and be able to stay home with Kaila....which is great!!

I am happy to hear about all the recent approvals!!!

Nans,

I am so proud of you! You are right life doesn't always have an expected fairy tale ending...but you make your own fairy tales come true!!! Maybe you and Mike weren't meant to be... but look at the beautiful gift of a Baby girl that WAS meant to be here! I thank G-d everyday for my sons...because they saved my life. After you have children you re-focus your life and decisions and push forth because of them!

After my divorce I went back to my comm college got my associates, then my Bachelors and finally my Masters all while being a single Mom! Gurl, you are truly blessed to have Kaila and realize early enough that you CAN NOT change someone that does not CARE to change!

Like I said Shauna...I'm SO damn proud of you!! Go forth into your Brave New World, Chica and carve out your own dyam fairly tale ending!! good.gif luv.gif wink.gif

Bless-ed love always,

Gill

Ditto! Stay strong for Kaila.... She should keeping you smiling.

I hope you all had a great weekend. JaEng, I have to echo what everyone else has said, your son is super adorable and I just love your creative pics.

Sunny, I am glad things are moving along, hope you get a drop off date soon.

I am still hanging in there but still very upset about my current relationship status.. sad.gif The one thing that keeps me going is the thought of holding my baby girl in my arms in a few months, everytime I feel a kick (which is quite often) it reminds me of what awaits.. I can't wait to see her already!

Thanks mommy girl... I hope that I hear something soon. You hang in there and things will work themselves out. Have you picked out a name for the baby?

Irie, those picutures are so darn cute. You and Louis look very nice together, and your daugther is the cutest...

Sunny, picking a name is sooo hard for me! I am so indecisive at times. I thought I had a name chosen but now not so sure.. I am not sure if its too common.

I'm gladly taking suggestions from you ladies. whistling.gif

There are so many names to choose from. It would be hard for me too....

Here's a few:

Kiyah
Kayla
Raven
Raya
Nia
Amber
Oh and Sha-nay-nay...lol Don't you dare!

This was a great weekend - We went out on my friend's father's boat Sat, sailing up the CT river - just a really relaxed girls day out.

Unruly, sending positive thoughts your way for AW's interview today -

Good luck Sus - you are DEFINITELY qualified for the position!! yes.gif

Today is definitely a day of prayer and positive thoughts all around. My SO is a welder and has been pulling his hair out for 2 weeks since the JA govt shut down the exporting of scrap metal. They are having a meeting about it this morning so I hope good news is coming.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers for everyone needing extra today!!

Jason, tell Marla "Things happen" no need to feel bad... That's what insurance is for. We pay for years and years and never use it.....

Hey Mich......I didn't wait for Kingston to "receive" my case when I started emailing them. I just got the KNG# from the NVC right over the phone and just started emailing away! LOLLLL

Even if Kingston doesn't technically have ur case, u can still email them about the DS230 drop off. What they did for me and dave is just scheduled a drop off date that was about 2 weeks away and it worked out fine. Some may of had a difference experience and tell u to wait but me and Gill didn't and things went just fine.

Try to get the KNG# from the NVC and then work from there. If we would of waited till Kingston had the petition in their office, it would have pushed our drop off date back by about 3-4 weeks. We would have never gotten an April interview that fast if i hadn't started communicating with them beforehand.

Try it and see what happens. wink.gif

Thanks Nish, I already have the Kingston #. I received that in the mail. I'll send them an e-mail today and hopefully they will read it Monday. Thanks a bunch...

Evening, all - I left work at noon today, went and got a spa pedicure, then came home and took a nap! I woke up and watched the Bucket List - incredibly sweet movie if you haven't seen it.

Congrats, Auntie Marlita, she's adorable! And I agree JAEng, the pics of your son just get cuter and cuter!

Gill, I agree with you about loving hearing the good stories - I am going to a baby shower next week for a friend who married a JA man on a K1 - they have been married 5 (I think) years, just bought a house, and this is their second child. She is a constant inspiration to me to have faith.

Welcome Army wife - I think you should be fine, as JAEng said - If your overstay was less than one year, then you should be able to adjust no problems - if it was greater than one year, you might have to file a waiver for the overstay - But I know people who have done similar and now have their green cards (not from JA).

Hope everyone has a good weekend - any plans?

I heard something about if the marriage was after more than 60 (or 90?) days in the country, the USCIS would automatically assume there was no intent to marry beforehand.....
I don't think she needs a waiver, I think those are for people abroad.....

I know she'll be just fine smile.gif

Good morning JaEnglish,

I know Charles County is quite, you need to come over her to Prince George's county for a little action. HA Ha. Yes, Maryland is quite, but we love it here. I made it out to the Carribbean market you referred me to and it was great. I'm stocking up on small things that would make my hubsand feel at home, so when he reaches here I will already have those things on hand. I'm also learning to cook some of the dishes from JA. Your little one is very handsome, he reminds me of my son when he was his age. They grow so fast, so enjoy him. I hope you have an ejoyable Saturday. You really should try going to the farmer market over at the National Harbor. It is really nice.

Roxcie

Roxcie,

Where are you located. I'm in Bowie... Near the MVA in Largo. What market did you go to? I like the one on New Hampshire Ave.

JaEnglish,

Their trying to build up the Charles County area. It's getting better because I can remember when there was hardly any good stores down there. I'm down there from time to time. I have family in Brandywine.

The only reason why I would relocate to FL would be to fly back and forth to JA for little of nothing. lol

I have my KNG#. I received it in the mail from the NVA around the 8th of June or so. I was just wondering why it takes so long to get to Kinston. They said they mailed it out to the embassy on the 13th.

If there's anyone from Maryland planning to go to JA in Sept. I just found a flight on NWA for a whopping $287.30 and it's not a one way ticket....... The dates were from 9/4-9/11 leaving from DCA (Reagan National airport) Check it out and try to play with the dates.

Lawny, Much luck to you my gyal..... Go get it girrrrrrrl

*********GUESS WHO I JUST HAD LUNCH WITH????????

KELLY (JOMO'S girl) and ANDRE....they're such a cute couple and so down to heart. Andre is a true gentleman and they had me cracking up. Kelly's picture does her no justice. She looks great and I got so many cute gifts (yes, I'm bragging). Okay, going to get a cup of ice now, it's to DAMN hot outside.

That's too funny - I was just thinking this morning that she hasn't posted anything since last week!!! What the heck are they doing in your neck of the woods?

ok..Sus i feel u on this..it's madness..it's not like she is on contact list or anything....I don't think the police can do anything cause she is his mother..no matter how long she's been out of his life

And think of the poor baby who left with someone who says she is his mother, but he doesn't know it to be because she never has been around - cho!! We're feeling your rant Sus, and it's justified!

Happy Birthday Sunny! Are you off today celebrating?

Good Morning Dear God;

What a week. Lord, thank you for blessing me, my family and my friends. I thank you for hovering over us last week with the passing of my 6-month-old nephew. Thank you for blessing us with the 2 hours he was able to spend with us after his birth. Lord, I know that you have a plan for everyone and I just thank you for given me the strength to step up and deal with the things I had to put in place last week. Thanks for given me the strength to help my sister deal with her loss and for helping me to break the news to her daughter. Lord, we thank you for life and for everything that you've blessed us with. Amen.

Lawny, I am so sorry to hear of your loss - reading your post brings tears to my eyes. I lost one of my nephews at 3 months old - losing a child has to be one of the most painful things a mother can experience - my prayers go out to your sister and your family.

I'm so sorry Lawny... Sending prayers to your family. God will give you guy's strength to make it through... Luv ya girl heart.gif
