It was my understanding that Thursday was the day to drop off information that was requested by the embassy and if you were blue slipped they usually tell you to come back on a Thursday. if you get a new date it will most likely be on a thursday at the same time...anyway good luck.

She is a flight attendant and when I got the email yesterday she already boarded a flight and it was to late to re-schedule, she wont be back to JA till late thursday. If we cant get a favorable appt. I will take you guys advice and express mail it.


Is she going to do that when she comes to the states???

Can someone else drop it off for her? I am new at this so I don't know if she has to be the one dropping it off or not. Just a thought.

Only the beneficiary can drop off the form. He/she will need their passports to enter the embasssy.

Just want to add my piece about Ken's baby mother. As long as KJ is with her, she is going to use him to get stuff from you both. Where does she expect Ken to have all that funds to support her? I actually had mine transcribed by a civil surgeon and STILL got an RFE for the ENTIRE medical, despite filing before my medical was out of date.



I, on the other hand, sent in only copies of Andre's vaccination record he's had since he was a kid. Went through without a single problem. I personally would not pay a civil surgeon to do a darn thing until I got a RFE.



I sent in my husbands vaccinations records as well with the AOS package thinking I might get an RFE...but everything went thru without a hitch...other than we had to wait what seemed like forever to get the approval...but no RFE.

Sounds good...I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending up prayers that we pan out the same way! good.gif

Hey all....question about the AOS. Someone just PM'd me and asked this and it got me to thinking. The question was..."How long after we get married, do we have to officially File the AOS?"

Secondly, they asked whether or not their fiance would be able to "keep" his job while waiting for the permanent EAD.....once the 90 day work permit expires? I told her it probably would be up to the employer but that more than likely, her fiance would NOT be allowed to continue working and would have to wait to get the EAD in the mail. I've heard of some people getting "RE-Hired" once they have the EAD but how likely is that????

Anybody have thoughts on these topics? If so.....PM me with what u know or write back smile.gif

Me & dave are in the same situation when the time comes, so any info would be helpful! LOL



Hey Nish,

I believe you have to file before your K-1 expires otherwise you become out-of-status. I'm not sure about the EAD, but I think you have to stop working if you don't receive your EAD in the mail before your permit expires. Where are all the VETS?? Seems like if you get the stamp at JFK, you should get married right away in order to file the AOS and have the EAD back in time.
