Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow bad it could be, if I change my address after I send my application out?
QUOTE (littlebear @ Sep 6 2007, 12:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thanks for all your kindly help! Now we are thinking we will leave my in law's address as mailing address, in that way, at least we won't lose any mails from USCIS. Do you guys think that a good way? My in law lives in NY, we live in NJ. unsure.gif

If it's close by I wouldn't change it until there was a break in the action.

Were submitting our Tax Transcripts from the IRS it is a free service. I called and they faxed them to me while I was on the phone. Only a few pages for each year, as far as I know that is what the USCIS prefers?

I heard they prefer transcripts.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionif you received NOA2 but not NOA1...
QUOTE (eXTRemNoD @ Sep 6 2007, 02:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
thank you, LuckyStrike!
I called the first number in your post (customer service) but didnt talk to alive person (anybody remember what to press after what in their menu? as their options were not quite clear for me), as they kept saying that "our representatives dont have any additional info then indicated in your online status (I have the same as in the 1st post of this topic)

They recieved my application on July 30th (I sent to NEbraska, but its in CA now), then I got biometrics appointment which is september 18th. Green Card already expired. I have no american DL, just one from my native country.. was pulled over not long ago. So I really need to get american licence before the court date.

who knows... Can I ask my local office to give my 1y GC extention during taking biometrics??? sometimes they stamp your passport about this...

Talking to a live person is tricky. It's been a while and forgot how it's done.

Thanks YuAndDan. I wish we had never involved an attorney in the first place. I think all it did was cost us several thousand dollars we didn't really have, and many headaches in the process. We had friends that did it all themselves and it was so much smoother and cheaper I could kick myself.

Yes, knowing that would have been nice.. .... we rushed to mail off the 751 just under the fee increase deadline... hahahahah... again... need to kick myself....

Oh well, at least now we know what we did wrong.... again..... sigh....... I'm getting too old for all this...

Thanks again! We'll post an update when we have one. I'm printing all the forms and instructions now....

I don't think many people are getting the NOA1. You can call the customer service line to try to get it sent again or try to get a stamp at an infopass appointment.

On a side note, we were at Hartford yesterday the 14th for my husband's biometrics, and I was SHOCKED at how small and "non state of the art" the office was!!

Glad to see some Hartford area folks on this thread. My wife had her biometrics done at the Hartford ASC office (on Pearl Street), and I have to agree that this is the most disappointing office (a government office notwithstanding) that I have been to. The demeanor of the person at the office was also rather unprofessional. If you accompany your spouse for the biometrics, be prepared to wait outside the building on the street while the biometrics is completed (which could take up to an hour or more). I found this treatment to be similar to what one would endure at a US Consulate in a third-world country. I was sorry to see this inside the US. Anyway, we are glad to be done with the biometrics.

Is there any experience on an infopass appointment at Hartford for the GC extension stamp on the passport? Do they give a 6-month extension or a 1 year extension at Hartford?

Thanks.

We live jut outside Springfield, MA. Our biometrics was in Hartford but the infopass sent us to Boston. She went alone and forgot to turn her phone off. She said they were pissed.

For the record they let me in for her biometrics NY (Long Island). It wasn't a problem. I wasn't with her at Hartford though.

I have very similar situation. Need to get DL, got biometrics appoint but not NOA1. Went today for Infopass. They took GC and stamped my passport but the stamp is good for 6 months only since today (GC expired a month ago). Told that thats how they do it - I might choose between keeping my GC and waiting my extension letter or lose my GC and get a stamp. I chose the second as I needed to go get my licence NOW.

1. LuckyStrike, did they take ur wife's GC?
2. is stamp valid for 1 year, not 6 monthS????
3. what DMV saying, are they accepting the stamp???

1. no. she still has it (expires 10/3)
2. yes, 1 year
3. not sure yet. I'll get back to you next week

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion1 year extension stamp received in Boston
My wife did her biometrics in Hartford on Tuesday and went to Boston today to get the stamp. We received the biometrics letter but never the NOA. The officer said we should have received the NOA1 (no sh##. that's why she had to go to Boston).

She can now go to the DMV and do her driving test. They wouldn't let her do it because her GC was expiring.

It was your good attitude. smile.gif It's so funny that they do nothing and act bottered to help you.

I have seen the code mentioned on VJ before. I can't remember exactly but it has something to do with the type of case you have (k1-AOS, k3-AOS etc). Nothing to worry about though.

Hi all,

My wife and I recently moved, and I submitted my AR-11, and an I-865 for my wife.

Do I need to update my address with Social Security, or does this happen automatically through my employer's records?

For Selective Service, I turned 26 this year so do I need to change my address? Am I now exempt from Selective Service?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you! smile.gif
