PhilippinesMore medical woes

Hi, I told my fiance that St. Luke's needs that letter from the NVC stating the MNL case#. He called the NVC and he was informed that they don't send out such thing. I didn't bother much cuz such letter is required only if available by St.Luke's as stated in their website. However, last night my fiance informed that he received a letter from NVC which we think is the one being required by St. Luke's.  I think NVC doesn't  have an idea what we truly need.

Keep on calling or e-mailing them.

Philippinesshipping cost to FEDEX I-134 and supporting Visa documents to Bacolod Philippines?

I am not sure how much my fiance paid for the 5 lbs. of documents he sent last month via fedex. Just  be informed that recipients are ought to pay the custom fee worth P250 (in my case). But the shocking part was the inbound shipment of the fedex. I was charged of P315 for the entry form fee and P449.29 for the warehouse storage charge at Cargohaus, Inc. (Fedex's partner in storing items in case they arrived at NAIA during weekends). In total, being the recipient, i paid P1,052.29. I just don't know if this is also the scenario in other cargo forwarders.

PhilippinesInterview with no medical test yet? for ST. LUKES

You can do your interview without the medical file at the embassy, in fact a Filpina just did her interview only to find out her medical was not there yet so she was issued a 221g stating they are waiting for the medical file and once it arrived and all is good then they will issue the visa.

So yes your husband can complete the interview, but you will receive a 221g stating they need to receive and review the medical file before approval.

You can also call USEM to get the interview rescheduled.   The delay may be longer if you reschedule (just my opinion).

I would keep the interview date, start the medical on that Friday, complete it on Monday and keep moving.  Its possible they will have your husband hand carry the medical file... possible not a given.

As for CFO that is a Philippines requirement, not a visa requirement, so you can do that after the visa arrives.

Well that 7 - 10 days is just a "kindly" suggestion... sort of like the pirate code wink.png

I know of others that have done the medical only 2 or 3 days before the medical.

PhilippinesInterview with no medical test yet? for ST. LUKES

Based on the instruction letter sent by the USEM, visa applicant must undergo medical exam at least 1 week before the date of interview.

If time is not enough, he can reschedule his date of appointment with the embassy.

PhilippinesNBI clearance clarification... Pls help

Hi good day.. I have a question to everyone . What was the indicated purpose in your NBI clearance when you went for interview? Others said it should have "travel to USA" . But mine only says " Travel abroad" on its purpose. Will this matter? Will it be fine if I only have travel abroad indication on NBI clearance. My interview will be nextweek. I still have 5 days to get a new NBI clearance in case it should be replaced. I have to travel almost 24hours to get a new one, coz I live far to the nearest NBI office. Pls help...

Thank you My Visa journey family.. More power to everyone,,

Mine was Travel Abroad and had no problem. Goodluck!

PhilippinesSLEC Manila advance medical

I read that story before but based on my experience and from reading others' experience, passports are not kept after the medical exam.
Your wife should have her passport with her all the time during the medical exam at St. Luke's because nurses usually check the passport but they are not allowed to keep/hold it. Inside the  clinic, there are postings on the wall informing the patients to keep their passports with them.

If that happened to some, maybe it was an isolated case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestions about timing of Fee Payment and Interview - Manila Embassy

You cannot set an appointment for interview if u dont have the MNL case # yet. Try to call or e-mail the NVC for your case number.  Estimate 1-2 weeks for the NVC to forward your case to the embassy. You will get a notice that the Consular office received the petition. by then u can start paying ur visa at BPI and set an appointment by calling the embassy or through online.

DS-Forms are to be submitted during interview along with other documents such as birth certificate, passport, NBi clearance, CENOMOAR, etc. as stated in the instruction.

The beneficiary/ies must undergo medical exam at least a week before the interview.

As for the brith certificate, i have no idea if BC can be expedited at the LCR. Just do the follow-up with them.

Goodluck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresseal of of the visa packet looks broken

Very good!  The way that stamp was I figured they would change the envelope.   Now you are good to go!!  Time to relax, visit with family and friends.  We stayed in the Phils a month after the visa arrived, just to have time for visiting.

Coldest weather I was every in while living in Minnesota was -51c (actual temp, not wind chill, the wind chill was -87c).  Luckily for you it doesn't get that cold in Iowa.  wink.png

Now in Arizona its temps that go extreme the other way.   Couple weeks ago it was 47c.

Yeah Thanks! :D

Sheesh...just the thought of it cringes me lol

Anyway, we might move to Missouri once the AOS and everything is settled.

Dave&JanizFemalePhilippines2013-07-18 07:50:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresseal of of the visa packet looks broken

Very understandable they do not accept attachments, as long as you explained what the DO NOT OPEN envelope looks like with the stamp they will figure it out as to whether you need to send it back or not.

You will be fine for flying in October.

Owwwwwwww!  January for sure is cold.  I am originally from Minnesota, if you think Iowa is cold ... remember Minnesota is COLDER !!  laughing.gif

Just for an update, I got a call from the Embassy saying that the envelope of my visa packet was changed and ready for delivery. Yay! How i wish it were October now lol.

Yikes, i know temperature there can go as low as -24 C or maybe lower than that!  wacko.png

Dave&JanizFemalePhilippines2013-07-17 06:48:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresseal of of the visa packet looks broken

Good to know.   Hope all goes quickly and smoothly.

Not flying until October huh?  We delayed flying to the States as well.

Make sure there is a warm coat waiting for you as October in Iowa will be on the chilly side.

I hope so. I received an automated response from the Embassy and said they cannot address the concern the quicker the possible due to the high volume of emails they receive everyday. They acknowledged they were unable to receive attachments too. (bad).

Anyway i am giving them 7 working days as what they promised.

We wanted to fly the soonest the possible and only October is the month when my fiance permitted to file his leave of absence, for he already used his paid vacations when he visited me last year.

Yup, I am already geared up when i get there and January is the peak month of winter when our wedding will take place wink.png

Best advice - Contact the embassy, explain your issue, they will let you know what to do.

Embassy phone numbers:

(local number: 632-301-2000 extension 5184 or 5185 (call them around 3-4:30pm)

** (214) 571-1600 or (646) 254-3546 (these are USA numbers)

I went to the embassy this morning, showed them the packet and explained my concern. I was hopeful they would do something about it for I was bound to fly to my hometown in the afternoon. However, I was advised to send an e-mail to the link they gave because Window 38 was no longer accepting walk-ins. In the case they would ask me to send back the packet to the embassy, I would just send it via 2GO at no cost. I did not complain more cause my scheduled flight to US will be in October this year.

Thanks for the insight Hank!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat does this mean?

I just received an email from uscis, they sent a notification of i797 is this just a receipt that they received my i129f or does it mean I have already been approved?

That's a NOA 1, meaning, USCIS received your packet and is under initial review stage.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 expire date

Hi

I need to try and understand all the different dates with the I-129/ K-1 visa:

Lets see if I get these dates right:

  • I-129F is good for 4 months once approved and can be extended by the embassy (up to a year)

Yes. The beneficiary is advised to undergo medical exam and interview once the petition is approved. He/she will receive instructions from the US Embassy.

  • K-1 visa is good 6 months from the medical exam, plus you pass the interview (no extensions)

Yes. In addition, the beneficiary must enter the US soil before the visa expires.

  • Once you step foot in the US you have 90 days to get married (no extensions)

            That is right.

I keep seeing this:"It is important to file for the AOS before the K1 expire date, otherwise you will be out-of-status". So may questions is, what is the expire date?

You will become out-of-status once your I-94 lapsed or the 90 days had passed. That is why it is recommended to file the AOS once the marriage certificate is ready. Though not necessarily within 90 days. (I filed one month after, others were 10 months). BUT, the sooner the better.
K1 visa becomes invalid on the day of your arrival to the US. U
pon arrival, a CBP officer stamps the travel document of each arriving non-immigrant traveler with the admission date, the class of admission, and the date that the traveler is admitted until. You will retrieve your 1-94 online 2 weeks after the arrival.

If you wait 5 months and 20 days to set foot in the US you have 10 days before the K-1 expire date and you are out of status?

No. You will only be out-of-status once your 90 days or the 1-94 expires.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI need Advice!!
Thank you pushbrk.

You think part time job with 10 boxes an hour should be enough income? and what do you mean by "bank account has more that three times $18,212 in it."? what exactly the amount that I need to have in bank in order to support her without having job?
Last time I check the poverty line was $14.500 for 2 people.

I'm just wondering if the idea of not have job could be an issue.

Thanks again, :) :)

Hello Friends,

It has been a while since I posted topic in here and I always get a helpful responds . My question this time is about starting a new job. It is only 3 weeks left until my fiancée’s interview. What should I do? Send her the new I-134 along with the new employer‘s employment letter or just have her take the old job’s documents to the interview?

Your respond is greatly appreciated.
