The priority date is stated on your Notice of action 1, that you received in the mail after you filed for I-130. It is a date when USCIS got and entered your case in their system.

NO1 December 17 2013. After that we filed I 129 F and they said that our case number was changed on January 30. That is all for now...

I got a question.

Are they going to transfer our case from Nebraska somewhere else sometime in the future? I see that happens a lot on the forum but I don`t know who does that apply to.

Best wishes

My husband filed I-130 for me, his spouse and our priority date is December 17, 2013. Our case is transferred to Nebraska centre. Could you please help me, I have two questions.

1. Which documents should I prepare for the NVC (after the I-130 is approved)?

2. I heard that some of the documents have like, a `time-frame`, meaning that they have to be not more than 6 months old. Is this true and if it is, which date is the one that should be considered so that the documents are not old?

Thank you very much.

P.S. I am completely depressed because of the distance with my husband, so any ideas of what you people do meantime, are of huge value for me. God bless you and hope for the best for everyone.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresShould I be worried?

It might help us.give advice that is sometimes embassy specific if you can tell us what country you are applying from. Each embassy has its own expectations of proof and what they consider red flags and we can better direct our answers based on that. Some have hight thresholds for proof of relationship.
I can tell you do not stress not having the co mingling of finances as most international couples will not have joint accounts, especially with one of the parties never having been in the USA.
You will fine MANY Internet based relationships her on VJ... It may not be common where you live, but it is very common here. And you will always have haters, you have to ignore them if they are just being cruel or ignorant... Good luck on your journey.

Thank you for your support. :) Thank you everybody. After I-130 is processed at USCIS and in NVC, it should go to the U.S. embassy in Macedonia (The former Yugoslav republic of).

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresShould I be worried?

I think as long as you have pictures of you two together and provide very compelling screenshots of your Skype chats/video feeds, you can make a good case.

I know what you mean about people commenting about marrying someone in the US. I'm from the UK, a country people don't generally try to escape from, and even my mum and work colleagues think I married my husband just to get the opportunity to live in the US unsure.png I dated this guy since I was 15 and didn't even consider moving to his country. Originally we were going to live in the UK, but sky-high rent and the new £18,600 salary rule kind of prevent that from happening...

But yeah, my point is, you know deep down your reasons for marrying your man - because he sends your senses reeling! biggrin.png and now you want nothing more than to be with him, by his side. As long as you keep that knowledge in your mind, you can rise above others' cruel and jealous comments.

From one future immigrant to another - Good luck!

Dear Ketsuban,

Thank you for your reply. We have the logs from the Skype communication, all together with call duration. I was wondering if we should also take screen shots from our communication too? Like, picturing the screen on the lap-top? Thank you so much and I wish you good luck with the process too and to be with your loved one forever :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresShould I be worried?

Dear friends,

First of all, thank you to whoever made this forum and God bless you. The topics are so helpful and so needed, I thank God for Visajourney.

My story:

My husband and I met on Facebook and then continued communicating on Skype. He was my secret admirer at Facebook for 2 years. He would send me messages that made me feel so special and he was so kind to me. In July 2013 I asked him to join Skype because I was doubting he was a real person. I thought the messages on Facebook were too good to be true. So he did and since the moment we started talking on Skype, we were glued to one another. He is my soul mate, my everything, so mature, understanding, good listener, good advisor, supportive and positive person. Every day, we talked for 5-6 hours. and during weekends when we didn`t have to go to work, we would do our long dates, marathons.

Those of you who met someone on Skype, know that talking is the only thing you can do. This was a good experience for us in order to get to know each other very well. I feel like I have known him for decades.

At the end of July, he asked me to marry him on Skype. I started crying and said yes. Even though we haven`t had seen each other in person until he came to my overseas country, I was absolutely in love, flying, and so aware that this person is a blessing from God. So we both started preparing our documents for concluding a marriage.

The moment we met at the airport, October 24, the Universe stopped. It was magical, emotional moment. We were just hugged and crying, telling each other how much we love each other. Everyone at the airport was staring at us, because we were acting like we were on the Moon or something, and there we were.

Everything was set up for the wedding. I had to do the preparations myself over here because he was in U.S.A, but he was my emotional and spiritual support during the whole process of the wedding preparations. My parents were freaked out, as well as the environment where I live, where on-line communication and relationships like ours are so strange, unacceptable. I am ashamed to say this, but all summer long, I was wearing long sleeve shirts, even though the temperatures were 40 Celsius, because I had bruises. My mum would beat me because of my decision to marry, according to her `a complete old stranger for getting the Visa and going to the U.S.A.`. That was a huge stone on my heart during the entire happy period, that my own mother was thinking that I would to get married because of the visa. I wish nobody ever experienced that type of disrespect and hurt feelings from their parent. It is so painful.

When my husband first got at my parents house to meet them and to tell them that we love each other for real, everything changed, My mother understood that it is all real, because it is totally impossible to act love. It either is there, or it is not. We got married few days after that. In the small country where I live now, I feel like all the time I am getting those negative looks as it is very hard for people over here to understand that true love happened.  My husband had to get back to U.S.A. because of his work. Then we filed for I-130 and are in the process of initial review.

I would be very thankful for your honest opinions, suggestions and ideas considering our situation. My question is, whether our situation will be suspicious to the USCIS. I am aware that none of us can really know that, but I felt like pouring my heart out, because I don`t know what to think. Nobody here understands me, I am all the time under huge pressure and negative comments. On the top of that, I am a journalist and somewhat a public person, so my actions are all the time taken into consideration even from people I don`t know.  My brother went out to the grocery the other day, and some of our neighbours that I don`t even know, told him:

-Hey, your sister got married to an old man for going to the U.S.A?

This is so devastating and has nothing to do with reality. I feel so bad because of my brother having to listen to these comments. I love my husband and the age difference of 29 years hasn`t bothered to none of us, because we have so many things in common and we love each other.  It is breaking my heart that I am here without him, but decided to read the Bible more and to focus on what we have, and that is time spend together on Skype, and lots of love.

Since I never entered U.S.A. before, my husband and I don`t have mutual property neither bank account. He left me his card from a U.S.A. bank, so that I can use it. We both save money on it now. He wrote a letter to the USCIS explaining this situation, because we can`t have a mutual bank account without my physical presence at the States. He also put my name on his life insurance that he gets through work and we submitted that as a proof of bona fide marriage. Besides that, we got 3 affidavits from friends.

We also submitted a copy of a newspaper that did interview with us about internet love, since I am telling you, for the society I live in, this situation is news-worthy. Do we have enough?

Thank you for your time and forgive me for my bad English, since I am not a native language speaker. God bless you all and I pray for all of us.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo we need to send the civil documents again?

My husband is U.S. citizen and he applied I-130 form to the USCIS for spousal visa.

When we sent the proof of bona fide marriage to the USCIS we also sent some civil documents, meaning my birth certificate and pictures.

Will this cause problem, regarding NVC. I mean, will we have to submit these documents to the NVC again? We already sent them to the USCIS.

Thank you for your help. Your help is greatly appreciated.

My husband is U.S. citizen and he filed I-130 for us one month ago.

We both put the information about our work places in the last 5 years.

I wrote them on my form, and he wrote them on his form.

Please do not forget to send that form to your wife that will have to sign it and give it back to you.

My husband and I have both lived together on a same address for 2 weeks and we put that address with the time frame we spent together on the form.

Doesn`t this `by the translator`s certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English` mean that the translator would have to have some knowledge or certificate... How are the people at USCIS know that the translation is done properly if the translator doesn`t submit evidence? My apology for the person that asked the question for rushing. I thought I was 100 percent right, but if I am not I apologize it was an honest mistake. I was lead by the written above...

You have to take the document to licensed court translator. Do not translate on your own. It has to be done by professional, and it has to have a stamp on it. Besides this, together with all translated documents, you need to send USCIS a certificate your licensed court translator got from the state where you are going to make the translation at, stating that he or she has permission from the state to be a licensed court translator.

All of the above, you can find in the instructions for I-130. Please follow the instructions very rigidly and carefully.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTourist Visa During Process

From what I have learnt on this forum, from experiences of other applicants, most embassies will probably not give you a tourist visa.

You are not prohibited to apply for tourist visa, but they would most probably not approve it.

You have to show them that you have joints that will lead you back to your native country after the tourist visa period, which means - permanent job, good salary, property. And you will have to prove the consulate, that these  joints are stronger than the possibilities that you will stay with your spouse. This type of visa is not that expensive usually, so there is nothing wrong with trying. But, if they deny it, it is expected.

I wish you good luck! star_smile.gif

OK i definitely don't think you need to print out all 6000 messages. Here is what we did: I submitted one year's worth of phone records and about 6 months worth of Viber chat and was never asked for any of it. Just our photos and how many times I visited my husband before and after we were married.

To print out Viber messages I think you go to settings from your account and then there is an option to email chat history. It will come as an excel spreadsheet.

Thank you very much for your prompt help star_smile.gif Especially for the Viber that was something I didn`t know how to handle... Are these messages needed for the consular processing or for the NVC?

Hello I have one question.

When are the logs needed in the process for I-130, at which stage (NVC or consulate)?

My husband and I have more that 6.000 messages sent on Facebook and God knows how many more on Viber.

Will we need to have them all printed out? How is that done on Viber? Is there some easier way to just copy paste the whole conversations with some tool, or will we have to use the good old copy paste for 6.000 messages?

Thank you and all the best, one more day of the journey is making our marriages stronger!

It is not forbidden to apply for tourist visa while you have the I-130 going, but it is not sure that they will issue a tourist visa. It may be denied unless your spouse proves that she/he will return before the tourist visa expires.

What did you actually file?  If you filed the I-130, then you are on a path to a CR1 or IR1 visa, not the obsolete K3.  If you did not include a G325a form for each of you, get those ready as they will be requesting them.

Thank you very much everybody for the responses, sooooooo much!

We filed I-130. In the I-130 we put:

Marriage licence

I-130 form

my birth certificate

my husbands birth certificate

my biography form

his biography form

letter that we don`t have mutual bank account since I have never been to the U.S, but that he left me his master card to use

life insurance with my name as beneficiary

some document I am not familiar with that says he was in the military many years ago

3 affidavits of friends

pictures from the wedding

copy of newspaper that did interview of our love story

2 pictures for visa

copy of my passport and id with my surname changed after getting married

After this, we filed for K3, but put only

marriage license

birth certificates of the two of us

NO1...

My husband and I filed I129F 2 weeks ago. It is free of charge. You only need the marriage certificate, the U.S. citizen`s birth certificate and the NO1 of the I-130 filed.

The I-129 F is then sent by USCIS to the Service Centre where your I-130 is pending. In my opinion, you have nothing to lose.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan our visa be denied because we called the congressman after 3 months waiting for I 130?

Hi everyone and thank you for your help. yes.gif

Uncle Beer I am the beneficiary, I am not American. no0pb.gif But, I just would make a personal notice that it is not helpful at all to discourage people asking questions, because the process can be very demanding and tricky situations may come, so every question should be respected, in my opinion.

It is just that when you read too much, you sometimes get to information you are not really sure if it is correct or not, so that is why I decided to ask the question.

I read somewhere that the visa can be actually denied because of this, but luckily that is not the case and we will give the congressman of Kentucky a try. My husband heard he was helping people and it is just somewhat of a hope in this process to do something and to try. For the member that asked me whether we got a response, the answer is, not yet, since we contacted his office today. Godbless and thank you once again goofy.gif .

Hi, I told my fiance that St. Luke's needs that letter from the NVC stating the MNL case#. He called the NVC and he was informed that they don't send out such thing. I didn't bother much cuz such letter is required only if available by St.Luke's as stated in their website. However, last night my fiance informed that he received a letter from NVC which we think is the one being required by St. Luke's.  I think NVC doesn't  have an idea what we truly need.

Keep on calling or e-mailing them.
