IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	passport and NBI clearance	FYI tngirl i am not here to argue also,but dont you think when we attend the CFO we also need a passport?anyways the DFA had implemented a machine readable passport and here are the requirements Passport requirements I probably was just lucky yesterday but i believe the DFA officers wont ask for the CFO certificate if the applicant can supply them with suffice documents.. The NBI clearence failed because there is another lady that has the same family name , this happened before and then they issued it after they verified this, they told her to come back in two weeks. Thre DFA said they would process her passport but would not release it until she did CFO ceminar; they told her to do CFO and then come back June 11. I had sent a letter with her asking if they could release passport for tourist category and then when she went to Manila for med exam she could do CFO while there and then get CFO sticker for passport at DFA after. I did not see a problem in doing it that way , but I guess they did, Now she has to travel 3 times to Manila for CFO, Med exam, and interview. She live in Bislig this is alot of far and hard travel for her not to mention the travel cost for 2 people 3 round trips. Plus she has to go back to Butuan again too. I wish something could be easy with this process but everthing is so difficult. Steve I just went to DFA yesterday for passport renewal (changed name into married)and had no problem...she should ticked TOUR for REASON for applying passport instead of migrate..but i guess it's too late for that now..sorry she'd had hard time collecting her docs...	maritoni	Not Telling	Philippines	2009-05-26 20:41:00
