K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	my k3 application forwarded to Fraud unit	I was interviewed at the embassy last february 23, 2009 for my k3 visa application, but unfortunately, my papers were forwarded to fraud unit. During my interview with the consular i was hit by the issue of age gap. My husband is far older than me. The consul bluntly told me that he dont believe theres true love, and he rather accept my answer if i would just be honest and tell him that after i got my greencard i will divorce my husband. I was shocked because it never came on my mind, never been in my plans. I tried to convinced him but his mind was closed to that idea. Then after that, I was asked to proceed at room 1206, where i filled up and answered 2 pages back to back questionnaire. but after i finished that, i thought i will be interviewed right away just like the two men earlier than me, but the officer in charge told me that i will be called within a week for the interview schedule, but they didnt called me until friday so at 4pm february 27, i called the FPU and asked about the status of my apllication, the woman named Ms. Rose told me to call her back again on march 2, today for the listing of additional requirements she might be needing. I dont know what will happen next, or how long it will take. Is there anyone here who can help me, to give me some insights or ideas on what should i expect or what should i prepare. My first encounter with the fraud unit was last march 12, my interviewer said why I married a divorced man, i am single, i have a good job, Am I that desperate to go to the US? The interviewer tried to confuse me that this path I am going through is wrong. , My interviewer also told me stories where some applicants withdraw their application after enlightening them that this is not the right path for them, that they deserve something better. So i think its just a part of the interviewer's strategy to encourage indirectly the applicant to withdraw, it depends on the applicant on how they gonna stand out for the relationship and to prove that it is love that made them together more than anything else. As i have read in some thread, there's what they called redflag, one of those is the big age gap. Of course at first since the consul didn't know the background of the relationship, and they think that there's something to be cleared of or to clarify, they forward the case to the fraud unit, who conducts interview in a very detailed way which takes long hours. The applicant will ask first to answer a 2 pages questionnaire which includes educational background, the name of the parents and siblings and their ages, the work history, the residence since birth, some questions about the relationship, how and where did u meet, if you have engagement ring, and even the home address sketch. In your case, Mercy signed a withdrawal of application, its her choice. Maybe she didn't able to overcome the pressure of the questioning, since she cannot answer some questions especially she doesn't have enough information about you and that was your good chance also to explain why your income is below the poverty line. As i imagine it, she had hard time during the interview because she didn't know how to answer more of the questions especially about you. And that's how the interviewer makes a conclusion about your relationship. Just take it positively, maybe its the best time for you to get to know each other very well, to build a good and deep relationship, and to have full disclosures about your past, your present and your future plans, before you decides to get married either here in the Philippines or in abroad. I had 6 hours interview where my interviewer asked every details about my husband, his job, how he earns his income, his properties, information about his previous marriage - the full name of ex wife, the age, job, how long the marriage last, reason of divorce, who filed the divorce, when the divorce was filed, the name of the kids, age, bday. Also all the details about our relationship, where and when did we meet, what was the first conversation, who started the conversation, how my husband courted me, when we started to have a relationship, when was our first meeting, who initiated the visits, when he said that he wanted to visit me, when he said he wanted to marry me and how things were being said. Who organized the marriage, where is the honeymoon, during his stay here, the places we visited, the date, the reason, the name of the person we visited. In our case we purchased properties, so the proof of the purchase, who initiated the purchase, the reason of the purchase and how things were being said. I was also asked, "If ever your petitioner is not American will you still marry him?", "If ever your petitioner wants to live in the Philippines and no plans of petitioning you, will you still marry him?" , "Did you marry your husband to work in the US?" the last question was "What do you want to say?, anything you want to say. If your case is forwarded to fraud unit, you should know every small details about your fiancee/husband and also about your relationship. You cannot hide anything, it is not just a simple question and answer, they will find another questions from the given answers, and you should have documents to support your answers. During the interview they will know if you are hiding something or if you are not telling the truth. And they also conduct background investigation to support their findings. They are trying to protect both sides. They are trying to know if there is love involved in the relationship. They will also try to discourage you to continue the application but you have to overcome the pressure and stand out for your relationship. My interviewer said there are some cases that applicants really withdraw their application. Philippines	k3 still under review	Thanks for all the replies. to update everyone, I never called the customer service again as it only gives me frustrations. Yes I followed some advices to make my husband called the embassy. He usually able to talk to Lorraine until he decided on April 20 to get a service of an immigration lawyer who will represents us in making follow ups and inquiries. Our lawyer keeps us updated and in his email last May 5 he said : "From my several emails and telephone calls inquiring into the status of the K-3 visa, I have reason to hope that the visa will be issued within the next 10 days, and possibly sooner. I have been informed in the latest off the record discussion that your visa file has undergone officer review, that the new evidence received has overcome any issues in the case, and that the visa "is good to go." The remaining wait time appears to be for final security checks/clearance, and supervisory reviews. In the aforementioned discussion, I intimated that you are both anxious for visa processing, and that I may have to take certain actions in this case to insure fair processing. I was asked if I was coming to Manila, and I said that I would rather avoid that, but that my appearance and other actions might occur in the event of further unnecessary delay. That is when the foregoing details were relayed to me." WE are both happy about the news that the lawyer gave us. I hope everything will get better soon! Philippines	k3 still under review	I just called the embassy today and asked for the status of my k3 application, and the customer service i talked to in the immigrant visa said that as of April 7, my papers are still under review and the turn-over period is 6 months so call them back after 6 months. She said I might be called for another interview, or to submit additional documents, and I will be notified for another instructions. I am very dismayed because i was done with the fraud unit, and I thought everything was okay I have submitted all the documents they required, I answered all the questions with all honesty. I am just wondering now, if my papers will be under another review in the immigrant visa unit, why my interviewer in the fraud unit returned to me the 600 pages chats, the emails from my husband, the emails to my husband, the 300 copies of pictures together i brought that day, they are proofs of our relationship. Thanks hindi matagal sa immigration...maghanap ka ng nakasulat na immigrants at doon ka lumapit, wag kang sumunod sa iba na doon pipila sa dapat sa kanila...mga first timer lalo na pag may packet na dala sa immigrants pupunta, mababasa mo un sa Hawaii...kahit 20 mins ay kaya mo...tanong tanong ka lang...kumuha ka ng boarding pass pagdating mo sa Hawaii para makapasok ka sa gate # papunta ng Sacramento, nakasulat sa boarding pass mo ang seat number mo...ung sa akin kinuha pa namin baggage namin theh check in again pero madali lang naman, immigration officers are all nice, u can ask anything to them...ul pay only tAX and Terminal fee sa Phil...pagdating mo sa Phil airport ay magtanong ka ano gawin mo, madali lang...1,620 ang tax and 750 naman terminal fee...my POE was Honolulu, Hawaii...3 hours ang stop over ko...have a nice flight and good luck.
