QUOTE (shallan @ Jan 26 2008, 10:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I got my packet 4 yesterday. I was so happy but when my sister read it this morning she noticed that my middle name is wrong. Instead of RAMASA in the form RASAMA. And my daughter doesnt have middle name in her birth certificate but in our packet she has my middle name. Oh my God! Could this be a big trouble for us? Please Help...If i call the embassy isnt it too late to change it? helpsmilie.gif crying.gif

when i received my packet 4 i noticed that one of my kid's name was mispelled. i called the embassy and was advised to fax a letter stating the mistakes. make a copy of the letter and bring it during the medical and interview.

GOOD LUCK for the upcoming interview and GOD BLESS!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US AND GOD BLESS!!!!

hi, my answer to your question is NO. we have the same dilemma which haunted me for a long time while my K1 petition was in the process and my kids are K2 derivatives. i went to the main branch of DSWD in Manila and got to talk to a very friendly and supportive social worker. i brought up to her about my situation( the same situation as you are now), she told me that i have nothing to worry since i am not married to my kid's father. she even referred to me a lawyer which i can seek for an advice. the lawyer made a certified affidavit (affidavit of a fictitious marriage) to explain that the place and date of marriage shown on the kid's BC's are all fictitious and no legal marriage had occurred. i used the affidavit when i requested the kid's passports, i also gave a copy of my CENOMAR.

don't worry too much about such thing, all you need to do is gather all the necessary documents to prove of a genuine relationship. that's all that matters. and of course PRAYERS can do a lot too!

GOOD LUCK on your visa journey and GOD BLESS!

Philippineschat proofs & email print outs
my husband and i started chatting and emailing each other wayback march 2005. when he filed the K1-129 application he included plentiful printouts of our email correspondences and everyday chatlogs. he even included couple of cd's of our chats (most of our chats lasted 12-14 hours almost everyday) so if he will print it out it will be 20-25 pages. yes.gif

during my interview i brought along printed emails ( 2-3 emails/week), chatlogs ( 2-3/week), ecards, snail mails, postmarked cards, phone bills and phone cards (hundreds of them smart/globe/pldt budget cards). i brought everything that i can think of that will satsify the CO of how genuine our relationship was. so you can imagine how loaded i was during that time biggrin.gif

but to my dismay, nothing were asked by the prescreener nor the consul. the prescreener just asked for my BC, my kid's BC, CENOMAR, affidavit of support, husband's 2006 W2 and tax returns. i even offered other documents that i have but he said that i had enough. so that's it! anyway, just bring all necessary documents that you have in case they will ask you for it. you will never know what they would want from you. it's better to be prepared! and of course, don't forget to PRAY!

GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

Philippinesenjoying the cold weather at Springfield, Missouri! grrrr!!!
Hello Cherry, welcome to the "SHOW-ME-STATE". Missouri's weather is so unpredictable and EXTREME in all ways whistling.gif Me and my kids got here last summer so we have time to adjust with the sudden change of weather.

I am from Exeter, Mo. Just a small city in the suburbs with a few population. It's a 1 hour drive from here to Springfield. I met some Filipinos from there and from other parts of Missouri as well. Perhaps, we can get a chance to have a get together someday?

Anyway, enjoy your stay!

any suggestions?????pls post...thanks

Hi, we filed our K1 visa petition Nov. 2006, got approved Feb. 2007. i emailed NVC week after my fiance got the approval letter to give time for NVC to have our paperworks. i heard nothing for 3 days so i decided to send another follow-up email in case they didn't get it. a day after i got response from NVC for my 1st email stating that they got our paperworks and assigned case #. i also got another email in response to the 2nd email i sent as follow-up. our paperwork was forwarded to USEM a week later and it showed up on visa appointment on the 2nd week of March.

i know how it feels while waiting for every movement of our paperworks. just be patient and hang in there, everything will be fine and it will be finally over before you know it.

GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

Since i travelled with my kids and had a 6-hour lay over in New Jersey, i brought with me some finger foods (courtesy of Goldilocks). I only bought bottled water and candies to munch on while waiting for our connecting flight. Good thing i have few quarters that i used to call my husband.

PhilippinesI-134 for K2 question
QUOTE (AllRightsReserved @ Apr 14 2008, 08:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello! I kept tracking your posts since we have started the process, I do have two derivatives just like dbears (Hi Gay!). But what I am confused now is whether to enroll my kids this June, this is out of I-134 issue but related as well with k2s. Our girls go for a montessori school costing much for the enrollment/books only to know we only got few months before leaving assuming we get approved by September. Moneywise, it will lessen expenses and instead just use the money for other fees in this journey.

Need your opinion GORGEOUS MOMS!!

Thank you so much!!

Hi! I had the same problem last year after i got our interview appointment from the USEM if i'm going to enroll the kids or not. Our interview was May, it turned out fine but there was a delay in the issuance of the visas due to the fact that USCIS overlooked my youngest kid's name when they processed our paperworks. Her name was not included in the appointment letter, my fiance called the NVC and i also doublechecked USEM about it. We were advised to fax a request to USEM to include her to the interview. She did her medical and i paid for her interview, during the interview i told the CO what happened and he granted the request but there might be some delays for visa issuance. It took 21 days for us to receive the visas. Classes were about to begin during that time so i was hesitant to enroll them or not. My kids studies in a Chinese school so it's really a fortune to have them enrolled. My fiance and I talked about it and decided to save the money for the plane tickets. It was peak season during that time so i waited for another month to booked for cheaper flights.

We left for US mid-July, just enough for the kids to have ample time to adjust before school starts in August. Here in Missouri, school usually starts couple of weeks early than other states. If you wish to enroll them in a public school, almost everything is for free. Books, school bus and even meals if you will get qualified, depends on the annual household income.Since i got 4 kids i applied for it but my husband's income just meet the criteria of reduced meals(breakfast/lunch). Well, life here in the US is not always a bed of roses, it's not always the way we pictured it out. So we sometimes really need to do the best of what we can do in order to save and help our husbands as well.

My oldest son who is supposed to be in 2nd HS, but he went back to 8th grade . Mostly, kids are about 18-19 years old when they graduate in HS over here. It's sometimes quite frustrating that they will get 2 years behind. Anyway, i noticed that education in the Philippines is quite advance, more advantage if kids studied in a private school. I'm not trying to brag, but my kids are doing pretty good in school, both in academics and extra-curricular activities. In fact, they always got straight A's. My 8th grader is candidate for valedictorian and won 2nd place both in Math and Science contest for Ozarks shools competition which dozen of school participated. My 4th grader is the school Spelling Bee champion and competed with 94 different schools, sad to say he lost sad.gif . Anyway, it's the experience that counts, and of course to think that he is new in this place is worth to be proud of as a parent.

Well, in my opinion it depends if you want to enroll them or not, the best thing is you will have the visa soon.... wink.gif

GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

PhilippinesI-134 for K2 question
QUOTE (dbears @ Apr 11 2008, 06:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I know we would need a separate notarized I-134 affidavit of support for me and each of my kids. My question is, would we need a separate supporting documents for each of the three I-134? or would one copy of form 1040, one copy of certificate of employment, W2s, bank statements be enough to cover all three I-134?

Any ideas/inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I, myself underwent K1 with K2 derivatives, 4 kids actually. We had our interview May 10,2007. My husband (fiance back then) sent only 2 notarized copies of I-134 AFFIDAVIT of SUPPORT and all supporting documents for all of us. I submitted 1 copy during the interview and kept the other copy for my records. All K2 derivatives will be enlisted on the affidavit of support so i guess there's no need to make separate copies for each applicant, that is if your kids will be present during the interview. Otherwise, you need separate copies for them in case you decide them to follow-to-join during their interview. This facts were based on my own personal experience, i'm sure others have different views to share.

Well, it's almost been a year that i had our interview. I'm not sure if the embassy have some changes with the process, so if you think it's necessary to make separate copies you can do it. It will not hurt in doing so.

GOOD LUCK and may GOD BLESS YOU!

Philippines1st Year Anniversary
My husband and I never forget to greet each other every " wedding monthsary". Giving a kiss and exchanging "i love you's" are just the way we celebrate it. I know these things are common for newly married couple but such simple gestures done by your husband when he gets home early in the morning from work being tired and exhausted but not to forget about your anniversary is very heartwarming.

Our wedding anniversary is 3 months away, i guess it's too early to make plans. But all i could think of since it falls on Sunday, it would be so nice to go to church and thanks God for all the blessings of a happy married life together. Take time off from work and maybe fix something special for dinner. And i guess i could buy him a leather wallet as gift since the one he is using is already old.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and wish you a long lasting happiness...GOD BLESS!

PhilippinesMy Interview Experience
[quote name='Francis Rohan' date='May 12 2008, 03:58 AM' post='1831613']
Just wanna share my interview experience this morning..

I woke up around 5 am to prepare for my 7:30 interview, left the house by 6:30, arrived at the embassy before 7 am.
When I arrived at the embassy people are already falling inline so I hurriedly went to k1 line.
I think it doesn't matter if you arrived early or just before your interview time as long as you're not late..hahaha
The guard asked me of my interview confirmation, i thought it is the email that the embassy has sent me but he's looking for the letter that the embassy sent with your case number and an id...but you also need to bring your appointment letter.
Went straight to Gate2, one by one you have to pass by the metal detector and put your things at the xray machine...got no problem at all as I don't have any gadgets. After the xray, you have to go out and turn left to go to the immigrant section. I thought k1 visa are non-immigrant but there's no one in that room so i went inside the immigrant section room where there are lots of people. (Also asked the guard if i'm in the right room)
The room was also full so I just sit near the seafearer's section, waited for my turn to get the ticket number...
While waiting for the guard's instruction, a lady came and told us to prepare the ds forms and make sure to fill them out correctly and completely.
As she said, if you leave some numbers blank it's like hiding something from them..so if a question is not applicable to you..just put N/A.
Also in DS-156K, which is under "DO NOT WRITE BELOW THIS LINE"..she said fill it with your fiance's name and sign it while waiting.
When the guard asked for those who are on 7:30 schedule to fall in line at the ticket booth..i hurriedly went there..gave them all the DS forms: 2 DS-156, 2 DS-157, 1 form from the bank, 1 DS-156k, and my appointment letter.
I was asked how far my pregnancy is. Then she told me to sit down and wait for my name to be called for fingerscanning. that's STEP 1.

STEP 2: Finger Scanning
You should be attentive while waiting for your name to be called..around 8:20 my name was called for fingerscanning at window 33.
It was fast and easy as the lady who's assisting is nice and smiling so it didn't last for 5 minutes that's including waiting for your turn and the finger scanning itself.

Sit back again and wait for your number...

STEP 3: Pre-screener
My number was called at 8:40 am at window 25, the prescreener is a nice lady..she's accomodating and smiling..
She asked for my:
1. NBI
2. NSO BC
3. NSO Cenomar
4. Affidavit of Support
5. Pictures
(She didn't asked for emails, letters, or any other evidence, maybe she thought my being pregnant is enough evidence at all tongue.gif )
Here are the questions she asked:
1. Is the father of your baby the petitioner? I said yes (obviously)
2. How did you met?
3. What's the job of your fiance?
4. When are you due?
5. How many times did he visited? For how long?
After that she said, just sit back and wait for ur number to be called again...
I think it just lasted for 5 minutes only.

STEP 4: Consul Interview
My number was called at exactly 9 am at window 32..
But I needed to wait outside because there's still an interviewee inside..
I waited till 9:20, while waiting I thought I will have to take that long to finish the interview..got nervous again..hahaha
So here it goes..
Went inside, i thought the consul was a little bit far from the door but then just when you entered the door there's 2 chairs in each side then it's the consul's window already..He said Good morning and i replied back..didn't take a sit until he told me to do so..
He looked like a nice american guy..maybe in his late 20's..a little chubby....he looked nice.
Here are the questions he asked me:
1. Who is the father of your baby?
2. How did you met him?
3. What is he doing?
4. What I'm i doing?
5. When are you due?
- at this part he was like counting the months and then asked his collegue about how long is the validity of the visa...so he said it's 6 months then he's like..oh ok i think you can still make it..just make sure you get the baby's NSO BC as soon as you deliver so that you won't have any problem if you wanted him to be with you when you leave..as I know that it will take 3 months to get an NSO BC..I told him it's just 2 weeks to 1 month..and he said ok
then he paused and enhale deeply...and typed something in his computer..while he's doing this I can't help but notice how his stroking the keyboard..(hmn..i don't want to think he's a gay..hahaha..) after typing something..then checking back the documents..he said..OK, you're approved! Just wait outside and wait for your name to be called..Goodluck for your baby!!! I said thank you! and i gave him a big smile. biggrin.gif

As I walk going outside the consul's room..i'm like floating in happiness..thanking GOD for the gift he's given.. kicking.gif
While waiting for my name to be called..i could feel baby Rohan kicking inside me..maybe he's happy that we're approved..and i know that he's my lucky charm!!!

Then my name was called at window 38, this is the releasing window..he gave my pictures back..gave me pink slip..then asked me on how far im i..then suggested that i should get a boarding pass for baby before leaving the country. I thanked him and went to the delbros area.

At delbros, i filled out a form for the delivery of my visa..then paid 250 pesos..then went out the embassy..

NOTES:
I wasn't asked for my baptismal..letters, emails..and document verification..I think it's because i paid last March 25 and it's enough for them to verify my documents.

I also saw SHAPE at the embassy..it's just that we have to be separated because she's on k3..but did saw her just after my consul interview.

good.gif I WANT TO THANK YOU ALL..FOR THE INFO'S THAT YOU'VE POSTED...IT MADE MY JOURNEY EASIER!!
GOODLUCK TO THOSE WITH UPCOMING INTERVIEW!!!

Pushbrk,

The VSC is the one handling our case. The I-130 was approved last May 07, 2008, Hardcopy NOA2 received May 14, 2008. While the NOA2 for the I-129F is still pending!

This is really weird!: me and my husband where talking today and i asked him to call the NVC 24 hrs hotline NO. (603) 334-0700 just out of plain curiosity. The system asked for the USCIS Case No. or the NVC case / Receipt Number. We entered the USCIS case NO. Assigned from the NOA1- I130. To our surprised the NVC recording stated that on May 14, 2008 we were assigned case No. MNL2008xxxx for both me and my child and also stated to allows 6 to 8 weeks to notify the Lawyer. (since we are using a Lawyer).

Next, we attempted to enter the USCIS case / Receipt No. for the I-129F and the recording states: NO RECORD IS FOUND / FILED IN THAT OFFICE!.

Our question is this: HOW COME THE NVC ASSIGNED A CASE NO.MNL2008XXXXXX, WHEREIN OUR I-129 IS STILL PENDING? NO NOA2 FOR THAT AT ALL, TO THIS DATE???

We thank you in advance for your expertise on this matter.

Anybody is welcome to give his/her ideas/opinions. Thanks!

I'd stick with the I-130 as it's a MUCH cheaper, less stressful and the CR-1 is a much BETTER visa. You get your GC and SSN in the mail a short time after arrival in the US.
No need to pay $1010 and go thru the hassles of adjusting status.

Thank you for ur advised, but what i know about this processing stuff based on VJ'ers timeline, specifically here in Phils. the moment NVC assigned the MNL2008xxxx case number, they will forward it to U.S. Embassy - Manila. Then call USEM-Manila for confirmation of the petition and set for the schedule of the Interview. While waiting for the interview date, the Beneficiary will undergo the Medical Exam. Meaning we are close to the interview thing. However, we got confused because our I-129F is still pending but we do have MNL2008xxxx Case No. assigned already. My goodness! so confusing actually. Anybody there can help us interpret??? Thanks

PhilippinesWhite Slips for CR1/IR1?
QUOTE (NoelandTintin @ May 9 2008, 09:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We all know that the process for CR1/IR1 at the NVC level is considerable different that K1 and K3s.

NVC ask and gathers tons of documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, AOS, etc.) before they even get to the embassy in Manila. As oppose to the K1 and K3s where, it almost skips NVC then the US embassy in Manila gathers the rest of the documents.

My question is, does anyone here "know" of a CR1/IR1 case that have been put on AR (white slips) due to document verification?

Hi! My petition is IR-1. Had my interview last May 16....

CONSUL: "...everything seem to be ok. we are just waiting to receive one document and you're on your way..."

On the releasing section of the embassy, i was given the white slip and asked to pay delbros for document verification.

I did pay early on, April 16 to be exact and when I checked with delbros, the request for documents were forwarded to the NSO last May 5. Unfortunately, until now, the requested documents are not yet with the embassy....

Hope this will not cause a long delay the issuance of my visa...

Hello everyone biggrin.gif

I will fly to Manila on the 18th (Sunday). My medical is scheduled on the 20th, but decided to start on the 19th. Please pray that my medical goes well. I have a few concerns/worries, but I lifted up everything to God. He will see me through at SLEC and I'm quite sure He will be more pleased if you include me in your prayers biggrin.gif yes.gif

My interview is on the 27th. When we called USEM to schedule our interview, I wanted it on the 26th because it's a month from our 2nd anniversary. However, the 26th is holiday in the US so we picked 27. Please pray that God will grant me the wisdom and knowledge I need during this time and that I will go out from USEM's building, waving our VICTORY banner!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

I am keeping all my hopes and faith because of LOVE. Thank you so much in advance for the prayers and support extended to me and Ryan.

God bless everyone here! I will see you all when I have enough time to drop in a cafe and see how everyone is doing. I hope and pray that those who are waiting for their visas will get it this week or next week good.gif

Every prayer counts in heaven and every person's heart.

Keeping hope, faith and love alive,
Riza yes.gif

I called Loraine at the embassy and she said "good News you have your appointment date". We got Sep 5th.

My honey was very happy when I called her and woke her up. Good luck everyone who is still waiting.

Hi, my interview date is also September 5. Medical is August 29.

Philippinesairline ticket to the US
hi! just a question on purchasing my airline ticket from the Phils. to the US. My fiance's travel agent in the US told him that only immigrants and f1/j1/h1 visa holders will be allowed to purchase one-way tickets. Does this mean that K-1 visa holders (considered a non-immigrant visa, right?) should purchase roundtrip tickets? I'm planning to visit the PAL office this week but might as well hear from you first. Thanks in advance! helpsmilie.gif

Philippinesx-ray waiver during medical (pregnant)
Hi? is there anybody here who was pregnant during the medical exam and did not undergo x-ray?

I was at St. Luke's yesterday (i'm 14 weeks pregnant) and the nurses informed me that i have to wear an abdominal shield during the procedure but they could not guarantee that it's 100% safe so i did not take it. However, they also said that "most" pregnant women they encountered agreed to take it.

Will my x-ray waiver be a problem during the interview? helpsmilie.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionReceived an email from USEM that additional docs were received today! 10 days after I dropped documents at 2GO. Whew! The waiting game :(

That's not even the case, at all. I talked to someone in Washington, earlier last week, and was told that the papers should have been looked at!

Well, I obviously have a job. Actually, I have two. Now, how come they're giving visas to the people who doesn't even make anything at all, whatsoever. If it's case-to-case basis, my boyfriend already told him that he just graduated from college when the CO asked him what's his job.

The guy in Washington, also told me that financial thing is not even an issue, that becomes an issue after filing for AOS.

It doesn't even make sense that they can take joint sponsors for everybody else but not for K1s?

That's the info I've read based on experiences here on VJ.  I don't get the logic either.  jest.gif

Maybe others can chime in.

USEM does not normally allow joint sponsors for K1.

But they have approved some cases, though rarely (meaning not all).  You might want to check the other topics here in the Philippine forum.

They're merely saying that they received the docs you sent via 2GO and that there's no specific timeframe that they can complete the review.  They're telling you to wait.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDo I need a passport to enter a US consulate?

I don't think you need a valid passport, as you're just there to be an interpreter... not an applicant.

Just bring a valid photo ID.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-230 Help (Expert's Advice Needed)

I am done with my interview, 3-4 years ago. I have filled DS-230 twice, but I am worried now.

Please advise me what should I do. Should I do not mention the institute or should I mention the institute, but Instead of Certificate, I may mention "N/A".

I need advise, because to me this is a very serious matter, as my whole family is in US and I am here alone.

huh2.gif  You were not issued a visa? Why? AP?

Sorry, I thought you were still waiting to be interviewed.

I hope someone chimes up. smile.png

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-230 Help (Expert's Advice Needed)

Lots of things change during the process. The DS230 has become obsolete too, by the way.

People are being asked to submit the online DS260 now (in replacement of the paper DS230).  https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

You can bring a new DS230 on your interview day OR you can inform the consul about the "change".
