Ahhhh! I feel so antsy. Oh well, we're not at that limit yet. If nothing happens by April or May, we're gonna try for a military expedite. So wishing my husband gets his orders already!

Jughead, I believe we have the same timeline? Are you guys nearest to the Tokyo consulate? I'm in Japan, too

Still nothing on the site. It's been 3 weeks since NOA1!

Does this mean we got stuck with an USCIS adjudicator who doesn't even bother uploading cases to the site? :bonk:

Hi,

Don't panic. As of August 15, 2012, I-130 petitions have been going to NBC and some have been going to local offices to ease the workload on the California and Vermont Service Centers. They will not tell you of the transfer. You have to call USCIS and ask to get transferred to a tier 2 ISO who can tell you when and if you were transferred. Your case should go to your local field office according to your address so depending on where you are in NJ, it could go to a variety of different field offices. If you are not sure which one is your local office, you can go to the USCIS and type in your zip code. No need to worry.

While I have not specifically confirmed that my case was transferred and processed at my local office, I feel it was because of my very fast approval time. Shorter waiting periods have been coming from smaller offices opposed to larger offices with higher case volume. Pittsburgh is a small office with few pending I-130 petitions (according to the USCIS trend volume charts). This is the only way I can explain our fast approval since I do not live abroad with my husband and we did not file an expedite.

Congratulations, again! You started this thread and now you're leaving it... Awwww :luv:

Don't panic, it's not because you can't check your status online that they don't take care of your petition. It's been only 2 weeks since your NOA1. :star:

Sigh. I'm worried we got put in the slow queue :(

I'm an I-130 January 2013 filer!! I filed mine the 22nd and got my NOA1 the 5th of Feb but the notice date is Jan 29. Ugh this whole process makes me anxious!! But I'm sooo glad that I'm not the only one doing this. :)

Yay! Welcome

Yes it did, about 4 days after they received it. I think it shows on their website quickly or not depending on how thorough was the person who opened the package (they might need to do two extra mouse clicks for it to show on the website, and I wouldn't be surprised if some employees didn't care and were doing a sloppy job). But that's just a guess (we have the same problem with the package tracking with the post office in France).

Oh my. How timely.

I just read this very interesting q&a with a former adjudicator http://www.visajourn...dicator-q-and-a

And the theory you have of an employee doing a sloppy job might actually be truth... :(

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJanuary 2013 I-130 Filers

Huh ? Why would you its not 45 days since you filed according to your timeline!

Ooh. Calm down, bro. :luv:

We only got the hard copy of NoA1. I don't know if we're one of them lucky ones who filed from abroad that get on that happily "auto-expedited" queue... Or if our petition ends up in a local office.

And well, we may have an RFE in our future, thanks to an innocent mistake I made in filling in forms :(

For your information, I just checked our case status online and it shows initial review "On February 6, 2013, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE". We didn't even receive our NOA1 by mail yet. So maybe, it's not so bad as they say for the 30-45-day delay

Sucks for me. :( mine still says in red that there is a 30-45 delay.

I'm jelly now. We sent ours 15th and got to them on the 25th.
ivyanddanFemaleJapan2013-02-11 05:24:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJanuary 2013 I-130 Filers

This has just started to appear in red bold print on the USCIS website when i check our case status:

"Expect a 30-45-day delay between when your application or petition is filed and when your information is available in Case Status Online, depending on the volume of applications USCIS receives."

Yup. I just saw this now. Awesome... Should my husband call in to know our case status updates? Like possible RFEs?

So...

On Feb 8th, our file got approved in only 31 days!

So happy, we are waiting to receive the paper NOA2 now for further instructions.

Hope your applications will follow soon.

Wow, the second one! Congratulations, saralex!!

We live together abroad, too. I sent in bank statements of our joint account, copies of our passports with stamps of where we currently live abroad, pictures... Hope we will be as lucky as you guys are :)

did your case status even have time to be up on USCIS?

It's been 9 days today for us. I hope we will receive the email before the end of the week. I check 10 times a day lol :bonk:

Haha! I check once a day now. Used to be 5x. Haha! Don't worry. It will come :)

Lawyer sent I-130 to Chicago lockbox last week (Monday) not sure when it was received but checked bank account today and they have withdrawn the fee! Waiting on noa1 hard copy now since I did not send out the email/text notification form. How long did it take everyone after their checks were cashed to receive noa1 hard copy. I won't be happy until I have that paper in my hand and know where my application got sent to.

Ours took about a week. But we are overseas, so I'm not sure if it applies to you :)

I have a ton of free time so I made an InfoPass appointment for Friday. The Pitt office is ridiculously close to me anyways. I'd like to specifically know if Pitt has been processing standalone I-130 and the timeframe on processing. Also going to ask if they can make any sense of this whole cluster at the service centers.

Hey it's worth a try. I'll post updates if I gather any relevant information.

Yeah, it is :) good luck! Hope everything goes well :)

Updating my profile timeline to state that we finally got our NOA 1 hard copy! Yahoo! PROGRESS! Gotta love it even if it's just a sheet of flimsy office paper

Question, which one is our NOA1 date: the date we received the email notification, the notice date on the hard copy, the received date on the hard copy, or the priority date on the hard copy? Ugh. I'm such a nooob! :bonk:

Just wanna add my sister on here! She sent her I-130 and stuff January 24 and her NOA1 vai Email is Janurary 29! Good luck for her maybe she gets her NOA2 before me as she has a MSC number lol

Really? When did you send yours?

Good luck to your sister, too!

We sent our i-130 to the Chicago Lockbox from France on january 29th. For the moment, no news from USCIS but since we sent the packet by regular mail, they might not have received it yet !

i sent mine the same date and was delivered on 30th too.. i still havent gotten any NOA1. and they have not cashed in my check yet.. ? what do i do?

Yeah, it takes some time. Ours was priority mail from a USPS in Japan 15th of January, which is a notch above the regular mail... But they sent us notice of receipt via email 10 days after. Check was cashed 2 or 3 days after that email notice. NOA 1 hard copy received only today! So, don't fret yet! ;)

Sorry, no, you must be the petitioner/applicant (the USC, for an I-130). They don't know that you have any recognizable relationship with the USC until the I-130 is approved.

Ditto to what Speedwell said. Once your case goes to NVC, the beneficiary can also call on behalf of case status.

Thank you! :)

How about for creating an account on the USCIS site? Can I make one for our application? Or should it really be in my husband's name?

Thank you! I am still in shock, to be honest. And I feel kind of guilty, as there are others that have been waiting much longer. But, I figure it's one less case cluttering up a desk at USCIS so they can get on to processing the next ones.

Oh, don't feel guilty! We don't really know what happens when petitions are at USCIS.

Enjoy it! And prepare for NVC! :)

I haven't seen anyone who filed from abroad be sent to a field office, they've all stayed at NBC to be processed.

Yeah now i know i will keep the originals. I have a daughter with my soon to be hubby. I will send also her birthcertificate?as proof of our bonafied marriage..
But in the birth certificate written that were not married. Our marriage will be on march or april this year..
Do.you.think my daughter's birth certificate they will accept that as one of our proof?

Check the CR-1 guides here on VJ. Guides here are very informative. :)

I also have a list of proof my husband sent for the I-130 http://www.visajourn...ip-good-enough/

As for your daughter's birth certificate, you said you have not married yet? They may ask for a paternity test. But, I don't really know. Better to use the search tool on here and look for threads that discuss that issue.

If you have a question, it's most likely it has been asked before :luv:

You do know that all you have to send off with your I-130 is a photocopy of your marriage certificate!

Fcat, unfortunately, for the Philippines, it is better to send the NSO certified copy, not just a plain copy :)
ivyanddanFemaleJapan2013-01-30 07:41:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJanuary 2013 I-130 Filers

Do you still remember how long before you get your marraige certificate from NSO after you get married?

Added you as a friend na.

Also responded to your query on another thread.

About NSO, you can have the process expedited. It is called "advanced endorsement"... Meaning, your marriage certificate can be NSO certified in 5 to 6 weeks instead of months.

Ask your local civil registrar about it. We did ours in Taguig City... We had to pay for LBC and the certified copy they sent to NSO. Then, the registrar aent it to NSO Main. Look up this link to my past thread on this http://www.visajourn...ificate-to-nso/

Hi :-) we sent our I-130 last Jan 25 and we haven't heard anything from uscis , I hope they got our mail

How did you send it? If there is a tracking number, do check :)

We sent ours USPS priority... Took 4 days to get to Chicago. And 4 business days for USCIS to email us about them receiving it.

Moral I got from my story: Mail express next time. ;)

I think receipt notices from the National Benefits Center begin with MSC.

Also, since all of our cases are being sent to NBC instead of Vermont or Cali, I am hoping that we wont have to wait too long to get our NOA2. Is it realistic to think I can make it to the US four-five months from now?

I am using James Shortcuts as well.

Thanks and once again all the best to us!!

Yeah. My estimated date of adjudication is April 15 to 30-ish... So, I really hope that happens :)

Just sent my I-130 out today to Chicago

Hi all!
I'm a little late to show up, but we mailed our I-130 package on the 5th from Indiana, flew back to France on the same day. It showed up delivered on the USPS website on the 7th.
On the 9th, we got an email with a MSC number. Two days later the tracking number was showing up online. And about a week later we got our official NOA1 paper at home in France.

So everything is going smooth even if we don't really know where our file was sent, but I guess we'll see!

Jumping in on the bandwagon. We mailed out the package yesterday, Jan 28th. Wishing everyone a quick and easy process/interview. Cheers.

Welcome, folks! :)

Guess we have to start updating our VJ timelines, too. :)

Does getting an MSC number mean it will be processed in Missouri? Or does NBC transfer it to other offices?

USCIS received our application on 22 January - per their website it's in initial review. I haven't received the mailed notice yet so I am not sure where it will be processed but I suspect the CA service center. We are prepared to wait - until then I continue to build frequent flier miles on VN airlines!

i suspect nbc and maybe local office since csc is not currently taking applications.

KDH, JRF, how'd you find out stuff like that?

We're currently living outside the US and there isn't a local office here in Japan. Which service center is more likely for us?

Can't wait to get that account up on their site already... So I will know what's going on.

hi guys, we're filling out Affidavit of Support but we're a bit confused... im on K1 and my son on K2, we've got a few question... tried to search but cant seem to find the answer, sorry if this has been asked before...

1. Do we need a separate I-134 for me and my son (k2)?
2. Under question [10. I ave submitted visa petition(s) to USCIS on behalf of the following person(s)....] Do we only need to list my name as k2 are derivative??
3. How many copies we need to have?

thanks!!

my hubby just filled out 1 1-134 affidavit of support for me and my kids. section 10, its only your name that will appear there (its understood that your son is a derivative). you can only have 1 copy(notarized) but you may wish to have a copy for yourself too.
hope this could help. GOOD LUCK!

My Mary's interview date is on friday, Aug. 3rd. We have been waiting for this day, for awhile now. Thank God the time is near. I have been trying not to bother her, and I have been trying not to think about it. I even stayed away from using the computer, and have been doing speacial projects at the office, to keep my mind away from thinking about the interview. All of our paperwork is in order, and she is prepared.

I really can not imagine how nervous she is, because I have never gone through an embassy interview. I would imagine, she is nervous and anxious. My question is: How much pressure is on the woman leading up to the interview?
[/q

as long as you have all the necessary documents to prove that you have genuine relationship and that you can support her, i can say that you both dont have to feel nervous. i know the feeling of how is it being interviewed. all she need is to relax, and of course PRAYERS can help a lot! im sure she can make it.

GOOD LUCK! GOD BLESS!

me and my kids received our visas 21 days after the interview. i wondered what took the embassy so long to release the visas since i was told that we were approved right after the interview so my fiance, (my husband now) called USEM and was told that there were tons of workloads to get done and nothing to worry about. after 2 days i got a text from DELBROS that visas were ready for delivery.

PhilippinesBirth Certificate Unreadable
i had the same problems with my BC from NSO. the entries are blurry that it's hard to read. what i did was i went to the local civil registry where i was registered. they redo(retyped) my BC and sent it to the main NSO office in Manila, then gave me a new certified copy. i paid 125pesos for it but it would be free of charge if i did brought the receipt from NSO when i requested blurred copies of my BC . so if your SO still have the receipt tell her to bring it so she will not pay anymore. you will be advised to wait 4-6 weeks to request the new copy. you must indicate the next time you request from NSO that you need a "clear copy".

during my interview i submitted the blurred copy, i just explained to the filipino prescreener that it was the copy issued by NSO. i offered him an old copy (clear one) which i requested wayback 1997, just to back up. he accepted it and everything turned out fine.

hope this will help.

I got my packet 4 yesterday. I was so happy but when my sister read it this morning she noticed that my middle name is wrong. Instead of RAMASA in the form RASAMA. And my daughter doesnt have middle name in her birth certificate but in our packet she has my middle name. Oh my God! Could this be a big trouble for us? Please Help...If i call the embassy isnt it too late to change it? helpsmilie.gif crying.gif

when i received my packet 4 i noticed that one of my kid's name was mispelled. i called the embassy and was advised to fax a letter stating the mistakes. make a copy of the letter and bring it during the medical and interview.

GOOD LUCK for the upcoming interview and GOD BLESS!
