PhilippinesNeed repeated vaccines done at St Lukes?
SLEC conducts their own check-ups and they get to decide what shots to give you. It's standard procedure for them.
You could have saved money if your fiancee and daughter just waited for the medical instead of getting shots from their local physician.
All the shots that SLEC will give (regardless of how many because it varies from person-to-person) are already INCLUDED in the medical fee so no need to pay separately for each shot.

Hope this helps. Good luck. :innocent:

PhilippinesTo get antibody titers test or get vaccines prior to medical
My advice is just wait for your medical.
SLEC gets to decide what shots to give you regardless if you have a vaccination record or not. It's their standard procedure.
No need to get separate shots from a local physician because all the shots SLEC will give you is already included in the medical fee.

My daughter was given 5 shots at SLEC last year. 2 on the right arm, 2 on the left and 1 on her thigh. She was 4 years old. She didn't cry, not a tear. Hope this helps. Good luck po. :innocent:

PhilippinesSputum Test is so confusing!
Your daughter will have to do the Sputum test first.

You'll know the exact length of treatment when the Sputum test is concluded.

Good luck.

PhilippinesErratic period right before St. Luke's EXAM
@ macadamias

You can consult your OB-Gyne if you can take contraceptive pills to regulate and normalize your period.

This will not only help you during your physical exam at SLEC but also when the time comes that you want to conceive and get pregnant.

PhilippinesClass Picture - is this needed for CR1 applicants as added proof?
No need to bring class pictures if you guys weren't in a relationship during those times.

What you need to bring are photos of you with your petitioner from your trips, wedding and other occasions from the time you became sweethearts until the present.

You should have filed for ADVANCE ENDORSEMENT of NSO Marriage Certificate in order to expedite its processing. This is what I did and I got mine within 1 and a half months. (refer to my signature).

Regular processing of NSO MC takes 6 months.

USCIS will not accept certified true copies of MC. It should be original NSO copy (printed in NSO Security Paper).

PhilippinesWifes Parents Interview At US Embassy

Is all of this really needed? I thought they already had all of these things. With parents of a US citizen don't they just need to show up for the interview. Maybe bring a few family photos.

The consuls can ask for any document regardless if they were already submitted to NVC or not.

Better to be prepared than to go thru AP.

Being the immediate relative of a US citizen doesn't make an applicant immune from the consul's scrutiny.

Good luck. :innocent:

PhilippinesWifes Parents Interview At US Embassy
Basically, the consul would ask about your parent-child relationship. I will post the questions my hubby was asked during his interview (his father was his petitioner). Maybe it's safe to assume that your parents will also be asked the same, just in reverse.

1. What's the name of your petitioner? Petitioner's date of birth and place of birth?
2. What's your relationship with your petitioner?
3. When did your petitioner go to the US?
4. How did your petitioner acquire his green card/permanent resident status?
5. What does your petitioner do for a living?
6. Where does your petitioner live? (Give exact US address)
7. Who are the members of your petitioner's household? Their jobs?
8. When did your petitioner naturalize?
9. When was the last time your petitioner visited the Philippines?

Your parents must bring original copies of (they should have their own copies since they will be interviewed individually):
- your (petitioner's NSO birth certificate)
- their NSO birth certificate
- their NSO marriage certificate
- NBI clearance
- petitioner's latest ITR and W2
- their pictures together with the petitioner

Why would I go directly with PAL to pay them over $1000 when I get it a ticket for free?

You can directly transact with PAL. No need to go thru a 3rd party travel agency.
Send the person (who's going to use the plane ticket) clear photocopies of your CC and valid ID.

Philippines(problem )given name, middle name mixed up
Bring your NSO birth certificate, NSO marriage certificate (if you were married in the Philippines), and passport. This will serve as your proof of identity.

Make an infopass appointment with USCIS so you can check with them if your GC info is correct, if there are any errors, they will give you a new GC.

Go to your local SS office and verify your info. If there are any errors, they will give you a new SSN card.

My hubby had to correct his name too. Don't worry, USCIS and SS will issue new cards for free since the error was made on their end.

When he applied for his Driver's License, he used his name as it appears on his birth certificate and passport so all his info with DMV is correct.

Hope this helps.

There are people outside the Embassy who can keep the cellphone. You pay them a fee.

But FYI, those people are NOT Embassy employees nor are they in any way connected with USEM.

PhilippinesCRBA
You should file for Advance Endorsement of the birth certificate.

Processing times may vary. My marriage certificate took 2 months only (instead of the 6 month normal processing period).

Also you have to go thru an appointment scheduling at the Embassy for CRBA. Another member here was complaining because the next available appointment is on February 2013. Not sure if that is true.

PhilippinesYay finally in the U.S. now
A friend of mine, by mistake, paid travel tax at the airport, when travel tax is already included and paid for in her airline ticket. It was the lady at the check-in counter who found out she paid the travel tax twice.

My friend went back to the travel tax section (or counter), showed her airline ticket & travel tax receipt and they refunded the excess travel tax.

No. The medical exam is done ahead of the interview (my advice, do it atleast 2 weeks ahead).

Philippinesmedical/interview appointment

1) Is the medical exam set up by the embassy or do you have to set up an appointment?

You don't have to set-up an appointment for the medical exam. You can proceed to SLEC as soon as you have an interview schedule. http://www.slec.ph/u...pplicants.shtml

2) Same as 1, is the interview called in by the applicant if she finishes the medical appointment?

I believe you have to set-up an interview appointment FIRST, before proceeding with the medical exam.

3) Can all appointment (medical and interview) be done in all 3 days?

No. Scheduling for embassy interview is done a month and a half in advance. Normally the medical exam takes 2 days to complete.

If I can't accompany her to St. Luke, is there a place where I can wait for her? I mean, is there a place outside where I can just wait for her? How long will the wait be?

You can wait at the nearby mall, Robinson's Place Ermita.

They don't allow companions because of the limited space at SLEC.
