PhilippinesNBI CLearance and Medical

Hello everyone,

Sa NBI clearance ba for Travel abroad or US Visa? ANong NBI ang finile nyo? Help me. Get the Green NBI clearance, that's the one for travel abroad. For purpose, you can put "For US Visa Application".

Ang schedule ng interview ko Jan 17, 2013, is it advisable na mag pa medical or sa January ko na gawin or kelan ba ang dapat? As soon as you have your interview appointment letter, you can proceed to St. Luke's for the medical. http://www.slec.ph/u...pplicants.shtml

Gaano katagal marereceive ang ITR kung kababayad lang last week (affidavit of support) - reason kya ako nag reschedule kasi worried ako na baka di ko mareceive yung affidavit of support on time. I'm kinda confused with this part. Did your fiancee send his ITR and W2 to you via snail mail? During the interview, the consul will ask for the petitioner's latest ITR and W2.

Kailangan ba ang copies ng passport ng petitioner? Aside from ITR ano pa ang kailangan nya isend? Its better to have a copy. Just ask your fiancee to scan his passport, email it to you, so you can just print it out.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know your exact location/State but I hope this link would give you an idea: http://www.philippin...egistry.htm#ROM

If by chance that you already did the Report of Marriage, get a copy of your NSO Marriage Certificate and present that to the Church where you plan to renew your vows. The NSO MC is enough to prove that you are already legally married in the US and in the Philippines.

Philippines2 kids with her and ex boyfriend last names different
Illegitimate children will always be in the mother's sole custody.

Your fiancee can do whatever she wants with her children. They can all immigrate. The surnames doesn't matter as long as the mother's name is clearly written on the BC. Mother-child relationship is the only proof that your fiancee has to show for the children to be under K2. As long as she has a clean CENOMAR, she's free to marry and immigrate on K1.

PhilippinesMom has 2 marriages with no annulment
Request a copy of your mom and biological dad's marriage certificate at NSO.

If they were married, you'll get a copy of their MC. This will make mom's marriage to stepdad void (unless she filed for annulment for the 1st marriage). Although I doubt they were really married since 15 and 16 year olds are not qualify to marry but then again they could have claimed they were older. Just speculating here.

If they we're not married, you'll get a certificate of no record. This will prove mom's marriage to stepdad is legit. But, you will have to make a correction on your BC since they put a false date of marriage there.

The child can use his father's surname, even though he's illegitimate.

Mom should go to the Local Civil Registry where the child's BC is recorded and have her name corrected. Just bring a valid CENOMAR as proof she was never married to the bio father.

It should also be stated in the child's BC that the parents were NOT MARRIED at the time of the child's birth.

Everything Tahoma and Artisan said is right.

Additional tips...

Schedule your appointment at the Us Embassy now. They only have a few slots open each day. We scheduled ours like 2 months in advance because he was travelling to Manila at very specific dates and didn't wanna waste time.

The requirements fof the marriage license are specific for each city/town. Tell your fiance to go to the city hall orprovincial hall where they live and get the info on marriage license requirements there. While this regional forum is country-specific, I assure you it is still better to ask the government for info related to govt documents.

If you are getting married in a church, tell your fiance to ask the requirements they have there. It is also specific to the church.

If you are marrying civilly (through a judge), make sure you fulfill all that is needed for the ceremony. And also, find a judge asap.

After getting married, your certificate still needs to undergo NSO processing. Ask the local city/town hall how you can expedite processing with NSO. What was done with ours was that the city hall gave me a letter that I should present to NSO Main Office. An original of our certificate was also sent to the main office via courier. We only paid about a 100 pesos for it but this might be different for each city/town. I got our NSO marriage certificate about a month after our wedding. The usual wait is 3-4 months.

Last tip: DO NOT DEAL WITH FIXERS. You and your fiance can definitely do all this on your own. Just research, ask the right people and do the legwork.

I'm the non-US citizen, by the way. But, me and my husband helped each other out by him researching all he needed to know for the Affidavit in Lieu etc thing, while I took care of figuring out the city-specific requirements for our Christian wedding last June 2012 :)

Good luck!

PhilippinesGetting NBI Clearance while outside the Philippines
Thank you, everyone!

For my maiden name. i actually had two first names. Fake example: Ivy Jane (mother's maiden) (father's family name)

But when I started doing ID card and other US military-related paperwork (my husband's military), I used my preferred married name. Fake example: Ivy (father's family name) (husband's family na,
Me)

I didn't include the second first name because the 2nd fake example is what I want all my US documents to have as my married name. I know my Philippines passport, when I change it to reflect my married name, will have the Filipino tradition of naming and not the US way.

Question. Should I include that in the AKA in the NBi clearance?
ivyanddanFemaleJapan2013-01-15 00:29:00
PhilippinesGetting NBI Clearance while outside the Philippines

Yes, you should make sure to do AKA in any name that you have used; married name, single name.

Thank you for that response! :) will definitely do so. Will it matter whether i use "single name AKA married name" or "married name AKA single name"?

Also,Just a thought... since your married now...Make sure you got your name change to married name. Hope you already reported your marriage in the Philippines so your NBI clearance will be in your married name.:-) I never gone through this name change during my K-1 Visa so not sure...but I am pretty sure someone who is more familiar on this process will help shed some light...:-)

We have NSO certificate already because we got married in Manila. :) but thank you for trying to remind me.

FYI...Make sure that the consular officer who fingerprinted you signed his name and official designation on the card.

Hope this help.Good Luck.

Thank you! Wll definitely make sure of that :)

PhilippinesGetting NBI Clearance while outside the Philippines

Sorry. I see now that you did make it clear you are filing in Japan. My mistake. The whole trip to the Philippines confused me.

If you did do your NBI in the Philippines(I'd recommend 2 months in advance) you could send a relative for the releasing.

But yes, just to to an Embassy. Very easy to get it done. Most want you to get your fingerprints done at a local police agency and bring them with you.

Curious why you don't get information about this from your consulate:

http://tokyo.philemb.../nbi-clearance/

Looks like they have their own way there. It's also odd that the Philippine Embassy in Japan, requests payment in US Dollars. Why?

Call the Philippine Consulate there in Japan. Ask them about how to go about getting your fingerprints taken there. They can answer all your questions. Posted Image

Daniel99, I think it might be because it's almost a universal currency here in this part of the world?

Let-it-be, thanks for the info!

Thank you to you both. I have actually read up more on this and did find that I need to go to a consulate or the Philippine embassy to have my fingerprints and photk taken. How unfortunate it is though that they don't facilittate the submission of the clearance application to the NBI. I will actually have to send the application MYSELF!

Anyway, i am going on a Manila trip 4 months prior to my original plan, so I should be able to apply for the clearance then. Great to know that it will be valid for a year. :)

Question, will the US consulate expect the NBI clearance to have an AKA of my married name? Even if I have never used my married name in Philippine ID cards and documents before. i have only used my married name for my US military ID card.

I guess I have to check with my nearest consulate if they do this. If not, I will have to wait til I go to Tokyo next month.

Can you please tell me how long an NBI clearance is valid? And also, if I get it this early (Feb/March), will that be too early for an intended Sept/Oct interview with the consulate in Japan? :)

Why not get your NBI clearance in Japan? It's faster.

Also, why are you having your visa interview in the Philippines? Tokyo has an Embassy...

As I said, I am not planning on having a visa interview in the Philippines. And yes, Japan has a US embassy and 2-3 consulates.

You still have to get the prints and photo and all of that done every time. How do they verify who you are otherwise?

Besides that, have you had any clearance done since the new NBI system?

Just do it in Japan. I know some Embassies do it in a couple hours. Japan should be one of them. Don't forget you will need Japanese Police Clearance as well, since you live there.

I'm not worried about my police clearance in Japan at all.

So, there is a way of getting the NBI clearance without going to the philippines or nay?
ivyanddanFemaleJapan2013-01-03 18:45:00
PhilippinesGetting NBI Clearance while outside the Philippines

Hard to verify the fingerprints match the person in the picture, visa internet. Does any nation to such clearances online?

You will also need to take note of an important fact. Since you are not in the Philippines, you will need NBI clearance, and police clearance from the country you are in. Since if you are committing any crimes abroad, the NBI would have no clue...

Yup, I've got that covered. The Japanese are a very efficient people. Everything gets done in hours or days, not weeks.

As for the Philippines... Hmmm... You would think that since I have had my fingerprints taken a couple of times due to having to queue twice for clearances to work, they would already have everything they need. With what Google and this forum is giving me, it seems like my hope to make this clearance a looot easier will be dashed. :(

NBI Clearance is valid for one year. You don't need to get it in the Philippines. Though you cannot do it online.

What country are you in, that you are living outside the Philippines, but applying in Manila to go to the USA?

We're living in Japan. We're planning to move back to the US by November this year. I already have a trip to Manila planned for August, just a visit, not to have any visa application/interview done there since I don't live there anymore.

I was just trying to find out whether getting my NBI clearance in August will be timely for a plan to hopefully be interviewed in a US consulate in Japan in Sept/Oct 2013.

Just trying to really consolidate a timeline for all my travel plans this year.

I'm trying to determine if my visit to Manila in Aug 2013 is timely for me to get an NBI clearance then and to have an interview scheduled in Sept or Oct outside the PhIlippines (I live in Japan).

Will that timeline work?

Thanks. I'm emailing them now.

I just read the instructions, it seems you still have to go to the NBI center. That was just for scheduling and encoding of information...

Wow. An online NBI clearance that actually requires you to still be in the country. That is just so inconvenient. I wish the Philippine government dealt with paperwork online :(

For spousal visa application her NBI clearance is needed during the NVC stage. Posted Image

When is it exactly needed? Sorry, I'm such a newbie. :( before NOA2?
ivyanddanFemaleJapan2013-01-03 17:53:00
PhilippinesGetting NBI Clearance while outside the Philippines

No online for NBI. They need to take a photo of you. What you can do is get an NBI clearance when you arrive in August. You might get lucky if the Embassy will not ask for a newer one. But if you have time a few days before the interview, get a new NBI clearance.

Go to Robinsons Otis in UN Ave. (near Unilever). There's not a lot of people there.

Thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately, I am not living in the Philippines anymore, but I am Filipino. Has anyone tried getting NBI clearance through Philippine embassies or consulates?

Hello, everyone! :)

I know I will eventually need police clearance from NBI. Unforunately, the only time I can be in the Philippines is August 2013. The time we wish to be interviewed for the CR-1 visa is September to October 2013 (for we plan to fly to the US in November)

Will getting the NBI clearance in Aug affect our CR-1 visa timeline? Or should I try to get it earlier? Is there any way to do it purely online?
