PhilippinesMIDDLE NAME

Now, regarding the name change, its either you change her BC or go back to DFA and request for a new passport.  Your call.  You will have to issue a Special Power of Attorney for your mom since you're already in the US.

Good luck.

PhilippinesMIDDLE NAME

Apple21... yes they changed my daughter's name.. i submitted her BC at Dfa but then she questioned me so I just told her to not to put her middle name and I will fix it up after i got her passport..

stealth wife...yes her father signed at the back of her BC and he doent want to cooperate to change my daughters middle name.. He want me to change my daughter name to his last name which I dont want to.. coz In my knowledge if i will change my daughter's last name to his name I need him to sign before I can petition my daughter...

He dont give any support to my daughter since she was born but he is threatining me that he will not sign  the paper if I will petition my daughter..

Don't worry, your illegitimate daughter is in your sole custody.  Even if her father signed her BC, you don't need consent or anything from him.  You can petition for your daughter.  The father has no legal right to stop you from doing so.

PhilippinesMIDDLE NAME

I'm a bit confused.  DFA issued your daughter a passport with a name different from what is on her NSO BC?  As far as I know, DFA should follow the name on the NSO BC, that's why the NSO BC is the main requirement in getting a passport.  DFA has no authority to change the name/s.

Illegitimate children can use their mother's middle name AND last name.

The AOM should list an annulment too, right?

Sorry, I couldn't edit my previous post.

It seems the CENOMAR/Advisory on Marriages does not reflect the annulment annotation.

I hope someone with more knowledge would contribute in this thread.

Thanks so much for your reply. She married me in 2004 but did not get Citizenship until 2011 because she was arrested early on in our marriage for assaulting me. Thus they delayed her citizenship. She moved out 1 year ago and filed divorce. We are still in court.

I recently received the AOM which indicates she was married to a man in PH in 1998. It also lists she was married to me in usa in 2004. The AOM dies not show a remark that she was divorced.

As I have said, get ahold of their NSO Marriage Certificate.  If they got an annulment, it would be reflected on their marriage certificate.

Is the first husband a Filipino too?

You can try and get ahold of their NSO Marriage Certificate.  If they got annulled, it would be reflected there.

I live in usa. I married my My filipina wife in usa in 2004. She told me and Immigration she had Never been married. However, i now have a certified AOM certificate that says she was married in 1998 to a man in PH. The AMA does not list Annulment and there are no remarks. It simpky lists her first marriage and then lists her marriage to me. Di you think she is still married?

If that Advisory on Marriages doc is just recently issued, then, yes, it looks like she's still married to the first guy.

That makes your marriage null and void, even if you got married in the US.

PhilippinesFrom Sept. 1 2013 DS 230 is replaced by DS-260?
You need to click the "Full site" at the bottom of the page to view it correctly. I can use it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Then on top of USEM's page just click VISAS > Immigrant Visa.

PhilippinesImmigrant Visa Unit address

My fiancee completed her interview at the U.S. embassy in Manila today.  The consul requeted that I re-submit some forms:

I have some several questions.

I'm here in the U.S.A., so that rules out my using 2GO courier, does it not ?  Yes

The affidavit of support requires my original signature and the notarized letter requires an authentic notary seal, so these facts rule out my emailing and her printing the forms, do they not?  Yes

Where would I send these forms and documents?  You send it to your fiancee.  What address?  Your fiancee's address.  And would U.S.P.S. be an acceptable courier?  No because their counterpart here in the Philippines is PhilPost which is NOT very reliable.  Use other couriers like FedEx, United Parcel Service or DHL.

Any other info would be helpful.  Once your fiancee receives those documents, she mails it to the US Embassy via 2GO.  She should follow the instructions indicated in the 221g form.

ah naiingit ako hehehe... ?? Congrats sis... I have a copy of my cenomar i got it last year june before my wedding... Do i need to get another copy of it since my cenomar is 1 year already?

That is different.  Get another CENOMAR, but this time because we are already married, what they will provide us is the Advisory on Marriages (aka CEMAR).  That is what you will present on your interview day.

You just need to fill out an application for CENOMAR.

I'm aware that 2nd day usually are shots, but I've also read that some people get everything done on day 1.  What are the chances of this happening & what needs to happen in order for everything be done on the 1st day?

On day 2 for shots, How long does it typically last & what time could we expect to get outta there?

Thanks.

Hard to predict the exact time.  One thing for sure, keep the day reserved for SLEC.

Is NBI clearance the only thing that's needed if I haven't changed my address for the last 7 years before I moved out of the country? Or will I need to get a barangay clearance?

Hi, have you tried applying online? Here's the link. https://nbi-online.com/login
I got mine last Sept 2012. Went online, paid thru GCASH (Globe Center) then went to NBI Manila on Sept 4, 2012. Those who applied online were entertained in a small room, it took me only 30 min or less. I was asked to come back after 3 days. Got my clearance then. When you pay thru GCASH you will be given a slip and instructions are stated there. God bless you.

Wow. This is awesome info. Thank you! :)

Unfortunately, she should 't have tolerated it. She should have stood her ground and demanded why was there a need for a further interview and... She should have threatened to report them.

I'm sorry if this sounds terribly blunt, but I have never given in to that kind of scheming in Philippine government agencies.

Geez.

I'm glad I didn't marry a self-centered American who believes his opinion is the only one that matters.

And puh-lease, there is a fine line between being a submissive wife and being just plain helpless. Just because you get the final say, doesn't mean she thinks you're right... She may just be thinking why even fight it, she can't win over a controlling husband anyway.

Hahaha! Why is there always some Darren type who reduces Filipina women to easy game all the time?

Oh dear, I had a blast (of migraines) reading his incredibly troubling opinions. It's a good thing I never sat next to a guy like him in a plane that landed in Tokyo.

PhilippinesThe bar girl...
Wow, this thread took a really really expected turn. Hehe.

Thank you. She finished well, at Lackland AFB, and went on to get her citizenship right after that. I am proud of her. She is in the Air National Guard though, so we stay right here in Tennessee when they arent sending her someplace else. But in a week she leaves for 3 months at Ft Lee, Virginia. She begins her course work for Nursing school starting in January, which may or may not get interrupted by a couple overseas deployments. Time will tell, but cant put life on hold waiting for the hammer to fall.

Congratulations!!! :) Hope she does well juggling school and family life :)

PhilippinesThe bar girl...

And therein lies the attraction (at least for some).  Pinays seem to prefer the light-skins, and we (or at least me, and probably most here) love the darker skin and raven hair.  Opposites attract?  IDK

I am amazed by the lengths Pinays go to in an attempt to lighten their skin to "be more attractive".  It's still hard to convince my wife that I find the brown skin WAY more attractive, though I do my part by constantly giving that "second look" whenever a dark-skinned Pinay passes by.  headbonk.gif headbonk.gif   BEBEKO!!  What was THAT for???  whistling.gif innocent.gif

Haha! That's so funny. Interesting enough I find that East Asians (Koreans, Japanese) go through so much more methods to prevent tanning. The sight of a Japanese girl covered head to toe with a plastic mask over her face while going for a run is pretty common.

ivyanddanFemaleJapan2013-09-08 03:58:00
PhilippinesThe bar girl...

Me and my wife met through online.., crossing paths briefly in a Christian chat room, with a very shallow "hello" between us. But I didnt want to talk with anyone from the Philippines because of questioning their intentions, and she didnt want to get involved with anyone because she was living her dream career-wise. So it took awhile before we actually talked in depth. Neither of us really were crazy about pursuing a relationship for quite awhile after having first met. I still wonder sometimes how we ever got together. Sometimes things happen you never expected, and cant explain afterward.  Being with her is the best thing that could have ever happened to me, but how we got together is still a mystery and a miracle.

Congratulations to your wife for finishing! Are you guys still stationed in the US?

And I totally agree... I had my own misconceptions of how American men are and he had his own stereotypes in his head, too. I'm glad I chose to email him and took the risks (i.e. complete stranger on the internet, long distance relationship) cause he is the best person I have ever met. :)

And I'm sure they told you horror stories about how Americans are swingers, too, eh?  Or maybe they changed their theme recently. I'm sure the stories change from time to time.

They probably do. But, abuse happens A LOT. These women are treated as commodities, as trophies or so-called proof of a man's virility or perceived attractiveness.

Vulnerability of a person to such schemes that start with promises of a "happier" life are inversely proportional to their income level and educational status. People who have lighter skin, eyes and hair are seen as more attractive and wealthier in Asian cultures. Hence, the presumption that Western men bring promises of a better life (when it is defined by a big bank account) is always made.

PhilippinesThe bar girl...

I have never said where I met my fiancee. IF I did meet her in a bar,,its no big deal to me,,,the point I'm trying to make is most guys on here pat themselves on the back "for not marrying a bg"
but yet sit in front of the pc and "pic one out of a virtual lineup" they may have their clothes on on the date sites,,,but its still the same game and these guys somehow cant see that.

I also called them out on there former marriages and they wont admit to being divorcees.

My overall point is that I said most of the guys who have foreign fiancees have wrecked marriages and found there ladies online or in a bar,,,,,,thats all,,very simple
just a discussion,,not steroetyping or making fun at anyone,,just pointing out a demographic here and these guys are in complete denial about me actually being right

Ah! Sorry for that earlier comment then. I needed a much clearer post from you on what you were driving at. Your point here actually makes so much sense. I'm just hoping you're not another one of them trolls.

My husband and I met online through a dating website (eharmony, to be exact), but we actually pursued a relationship only after we met in person. We were in our late twenties. We both worked. i've never asked him to send me money for my family.

I hate seeing and hearing people generalize relationships that start online like it's another one of the moneymaking scams women from 3rd world countries do. It's an unwelcome stereotype I have since struggled dealing with.

Online dating exists. Just gotta choose the non-sleazy ones.

Lots of folks have been married & divorced.  Not sure why you seek to make people "admit it".  What's the big deal?  I'm twice divorced.  Never tried to hide it.

Unfortunately, there are loads more in the actual world that deny it. That CFO seminar I attended said they've had more than a couple of girls looking to be married to people who actually had 2-4 divorces and were abusive. The girls were told lies.

I spent a majority of my time in Angeles,,,,,and yes I am qualified ,,,,,,others need to come forward and admit they married bar girls before i will tell my story,,I know there is some here who
found thier wives in bars,,,and they wont come clean,,,,besides whats the differnce? a bar or the internet? I personally like to test drive something before i make a purchase if you get my drift

You confuse me on whether or not you are proud you met your fiancee/wife in a strip club aka "bar/nightclub" in the Philippines. Are you proud or not? You sound like you are trying to make yourself seem better and even feel okay by lashing out on every comment that even deigns to say a relationship with a "bar girl" is unacceptable and that "bar girls" are low quality women.

You're trapping people in this little mind game of yours... even if you know very well that there will always be a person who will not share your point of view.

PhilippinesThe bar girl...

I think the original point was that if someone is in this profession does it make them unable to have a successful relationship. For some this is probably true... I like the comment about the get-togethers with others from the Phils and seeing the attention addicts - though I'm not sure which is cause and which is effect (attention addicts possibly gravitating to that type of job).

I submit a larger problem is the mans ability to deal with it. He never gets over the fact that his partner has a past and he dwells on it and dwells on it and it gets the better of him.. He ends up sabotaging the relationship.. and many men never see that *they* are the current problem and when the relationship dies he blames the the fact she was a bar-girl.. Well maybe.. But as a man if you choose that route step #1 is to clear that slate and get over it.

Hmm, I think it is a personality thing. Not a specifically bar girl thing. Attention-seeking may be stemming from a whole different set of relationship issues we just don't know about.

I'm Filipino. I miss talking in my language. I don't go to a lot of parties with people from my country but I find it awesome, once in a while, to talk to Filipinos with our common language. But, that's my reason.

So yeah, blaming the other's shady past for a relationship that has gone south can be just a way for a person to deny the existence of his own faults.

Some women look at guys and see money. Some men look at girls and see them only as sex objects

Bar girl or not... Whether it's in the Philippines or Thailand or Russia or USA... These relationships happen A LOT and almost everywhere!

It's pretty naive of a man (or woman, for that matter) to think this kind of "user-friendly" relationship only happens between a bar girl and a willing foreigner.
