PhilippinesMedicat Exam at St. Lukes Prior to Receive the Interview Letter and was Diagnosed with HBP

Just tell your mom to relax.  Don't get too excited or nervous.  Taking maintenance medicine will help.

My hubby has HBP too but it didn't cause him any problems when he had his medical exam at SLEC.  He just presented the prescription that his cardiologist gave him so the SLEC physician can take note of the medicines he's taking.

Philippinesquestion about bringing meds to USA

She should have a prescription for every medicine she intends to bring in the US.

My husband brought 4 months worth of maintenance medicine for his HBP and cholesterol.  He got a prescription from his cardiologist.

PhilippinesRESULT: SPUTUM??

You will be fine. I think u are for vaccination knowing they tell u to come back at 7:30am. If u are for sputum, they will tell u to come back 5:30am because u are not allowed to eat breakfast prior to collection.

I'll keep this in mind.  Thanks for the tip! idea9dv.gif

PhilippinesADVANCE CFO SEMINAR????

im confused.. most vj members say 15 slots only.. while at CFO website they are open up to 70 slots. 15 or 70?

F2A, F2B and IR5 are included in the 70 slots.

Those limited to 15 slots are the K1 and spouses of US citizens (IR/CR).

PhilippinesADVANCE CFO SEMINAR????

While my nanay is waiting for NVC to complete the case and waiting to receive her USEM interview letter, can she proceed wtih the advance CFO Seminar????

What documents she needs to present at CFO?

Also, I've known through CFO Website, they only occummodate a limited # of people per day (70 per day for US Bound - if I'm not mistaken), what if my nanay will travel all the may to Manila and line up early in the morning only to find out she can't make it on the line. Does this mean she has to come back the following day and try to line up again cray5ol.gif

If your nanay is 60 years and above, she's exempted from attending the actual seminar.  She will only need to register and get the sticker, so better to wait until she has the visa and visa packet.

http://cfo.gov.ph/in...-visa&catid=139

If she's required to attend the seminar, she must be there 2 hours before.  It's quite rare that people are turned away because the 70 slots are not always filled up.

PhilippinesK-1 Question

A little misunderstanding perhaps?  A brother-in-law is your husband's brother.  They are not yet married so she shouldn't refer to him as her BIL, should be my fiancee's brother or future BIL.

The consul might have thought that she met the petitioner thru a present/ex husband's brother.

That's how I understood your post. happy.png

PhilippinesMARRIAGE CERTIFICATE -- How to get it authenticated and how do you know if its already registered in NSO

Hi again, fellow VJers! My husband and I got married last July 31, 2013, and today (Sept.16), we finally got our Marriage Certificate. We want to have me apply for a passport renewal as soon as possible with my new surname, but when I checked the requirements, this is what it said about the marriage certificate:

  • Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) or Certified True Copy (CTC) of MC issued by the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) and duly authenticated by NSO. Transcribed Marriage Contract from the LCR is required when entries in NSO Marriage Contract are blurred or unreadable.

Now, we both know that the NSO-issued marriage certificate is in yellow security paper, and what we have right now looks like this:

attachicon.gifmarriage contract.jpg

QUESTIONS ARE:

>>> Do I have to go to NSO (nearest one is iloilo) to have this authenticated? Coz all it says here is its been registered by the Cebu Civil Registry, but nothing here indicates that its authenticated by NSO.  What you have there is just the duplicate of what you have submitted to the Local Civil Registry (LCR).

>>> If we do request for an NSO copy of our Marriage Certificate, how do I know if its already registered in NSO? How long do we have to wait till we're sure that its registered and we can then request for it online?  The LCR is the one who will forward your MC to NSO.  You will have to ask them when they have forwarded it.

Normally, it takes 6 months to get an NSO MC (printed in SECPA).  What I did is request for an ADVANCE ENDORSEMENT at the LCR to expedite the processing of our NSO MC. We got married March 2012 and I got the NSO MC in May 2012.  I immediately renewed my passport to my married surname.

To know if you already have an NSO MC, go to the nearest NSO office in your area and request a copy.

PLEASE, we want to start the I-130 application right away, but I know I have to apply for a passport renewal first with my new surname. PLEASE HELP!!!

For filing i-130, you can submit the MC issued by the LCR.  It has to have the stamp that says "certified true copy".  Just go to the LCR where your marriage was registered and request a copy from them.

For change of name on your passport (renewal), you have to present the NSO MC (printed in SECPA).  The passport is not required in the i-130 filing so you still have ample time.

Your fiancee doesn't need the consent of the bio father to let the child immigrate.

In the Philippines, illegitimate children are under the full custody of their mothers.

I agree with Gowon.

The green card is very important, for kids and adults alike.  What proof will you show when applying for US citizenship if you don't have a valid proof of LPR status (which is the GC)?

That's the POINT of this whole process, right? biggrin.png

It's not mandatory for the petitioner to be there at the interview.... unless you have major red flags.

PhilippinesDo I need to Report a Marriage?

Because your marriage took place in the Philippines.

Report of marriage to the Philippine Consulate/Embassy is only done if a Filipino got married OUTSIDE of the Philippines.  The purpose of the filing is to record the marriage to NSO.

Philippinesannotation in birth certificate

Inform NVC of the name change by submitting a letter/email explaining that you will now use your father's surname as shown on your annotated NSO BC and new passport.

On the forms, your previous name (mother's surname) will be your "other names used".

When you get an NBI clearance, get one with AKA for your previous name.

Your petition won't be affected as long as you don't age-out and/or get married.

Philippinesk-1 fiance visa

Since you're K1, you were not required to submit civil documents to NVC, so you have to submit the original green NBI clearance (not personal copy) to USEM on the day of your interview.

Better get one ASAP.

PhilippinesQuestion about PDOS

PDOS means Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar.  It is conducted by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).

Your mother is required to have the CFO sticker on her passport.  If she doesn't, she won't be allowed to board her flight.

If she's 60 years and above, she is exempted from attending the PDOS but would still be required to register and get the CFO sticker.
