PhilippinesFirst name on visa includes middle name

Hi guys! I got my US VISA now from 2go.

In all the forms that I filled up, my given name includes my middle name. But in my VISA, it does not have my middle name.

Ex.
Phil passport data:
SurName: ABCDEFG
Given name: FIJKLM ZZZZZZ
Middle name: PPPPP

Us Visa
SurName: ABCDEFG
Given name: FIJKLM ZZZZZZ

They didnt include my middle name in my given name. Is this wrong? When I filled up the DS-269 before it says that given name includes my middle name. But in my VISA they didnt include it.

It's too long to fit.  Check the bottom part of the visa, the one with <<<<<.  Your complete name should appear there.

PhilippinesDNA and immigration atty.

Correcting the birth certificate is just the beginning.  Congrats with that because now you are officially her mother.

Now, immigrating the child is another thing.  You have to convince USCIS that indeed you are the bio parent.  I think this is not a DIY situation.  You have to find an experienced immigration attorney who can better advice you.  I hope someone here can suggest one.

Good luck!

PhilippinesMisunderstood Question in Application Form

IMO, you should have answered "yes" because even if your British passport is expired its still proof that you have dual nationality.

If the question was "do you have a valid passport for the other nationality" then "no" is the appropriate answer.

Philippineswhat and how long it takes to petition a sibling
If your parents are still around, once you become a USC, you can petition for them. They will immigrate under IR5 category. Waiting time around 8-10 months.

When parents receive their green cards, one of them may file i-130 for their sons/daughters in the Philippines.

Waiting time for sons/daughters would vary depending on their ages and marital status.

If unmarried below 21 years old, they will immigrate under F2A category. Waiting time is 2-3 years.

If unmarried 21 years old and above, they will immigrate under F2B category. Waiting time is 10-11 years.

If married (regardless of age), the petitioning parent must naturalize first before filing the petition (this will take 5 years, based on 5-year residency rule). They will immigrate under F3 category. Waiting time is 21 years. Total of 26 years.

If petitioned by you (sibling), regardless of age and marital status, they will immigrate under F4 category. Waiting time is 23-24 years.

Source: http://travel.state....letin_5927.html

*** For Philippines only, F2B has a shorter waiting time compared to F1.

my preference is ir-5, my case is under administrative processing since december 23, 2012 and after 5 months it is still under ap, no letter or correspondence from us embassy. i already gave up my dream to see my children, grand children, mother, sister, niece and families.

Didn't they give you a 221g form or email?  Did your petitioner try to contact the US Embassy?

Philippinesmedical exam results wont be released unless...

So sad but his TST really came back positive. The doctor measure it as 17mm. I really cried infront if the Doctor coz i was scared. The doctor said that my sin will undergo chest xray and she is 98% sure that his xray will be ok. I also confirmed with her if even my sons has tested positive for tst but negative for chest xray, will he still be allowed to go to the US? She said yes. That made me fekt relieved for awhile. Since it was already friday when his tst was read, it was already 330pm when he took his chest xray. And we were advised to comeback 430pm but when we came back, we were still told that results cannot be claimed that day because the the radiologist where already out. I asked them if maybe they would know whats the result for my peace of mind. Since our interview will be June 19, they said that its ok if we come back on June 17 for my son's immunization. When i heard about the immunization, i was thinking that he will be cleared coz i think u will not be immunized if u have problems that needs to be medicated. Am i right? If the medication is highly dependent on the decision of SLEC and USEM, can i fervently request them to let us go and medicate in the US instead? Does it depend on how i request them? Since we are living in the province, its really not practical to have his medication in the embassy since we dont have relatives in manila, my work is kn the province and his school is in the province. Maybe they can understand aince we dont have many money to spend living in manila. I know im thinking negatively but i just want to be prepared as early as now and maybe all u guys have an idea on what to do about my case. Thank you all so much. Appreciate all ur advice.

The xray result will have to show "clear" in order for your son to get the vaccines.  They should be able to give you the xray findings the following day and immunizations can be administered as well.

PhilippinesLocal Register Certified copy of Marriage

You can use the Certified True Copy of your marriage certificate issued by the LCR for the i130 filing.  For NVC, they will require the NSO MC.

When you bring your MC to the LCR, request for ADVANCE ENDORSEMENT so they will expedite the processing of your NSO MC.  They will say it will normally take 6 months to get it but with AE it will be quicker.  I got mine in a month and a half.

There's no specific dress code for the interview, however, that is a special day for you so dress appropriately.  I wore smart casual.  ;)

Take note that electronics, cellphones, USB devices and the likes are not allowed inside the embassy.

Girly stuff?  Never leave home without it.

PhilippinesFor those with children who went thru sputum at SLEC.

If his sputum smear results turn out negative then good for him. As far as I know, children with positive chest x-ray but with negative AFB smears are not considered infectious so they may not undergo sputum culture for 2 months. The panel of physician will have to decide about it though.

It's different when it comes to adults. My 3-day sputum exam were negative for AFB smear but it required me to wait 2 months for the sputum culture and thankfully they were negative as well.

Before I did my medical at St. Luke's Extension Clinic a few months ago, I thought of having a routine chest x-ray in another hospital but didn't do it because I know SLEC would see my lung scarring anyway and have to abide by their additional test for it. I've endured the 3-day sputum smear, the 2-month culture and it paid off. Had my interview and now my visa on hand. :)

What you said is true.  My nephew's sputum samples turned out NEGATIVE so there's no need for the 8-week culture.  Thanks for the info.

PhilippinesFor those with children who went thru sputum at SLEC.

My cousin's 10-yr old son is undergoing the 3rd-day sputum sample at SLEC now.  He tested positive for primary complex on the skin test and chest xray.  The sputum results will be released on Monday.

She was told that if the results were negative, her son will be given a "medical clearance" and vaccines will be administered and they can proceed with their interview which is next week.

I'm NO expert in this sputum thingy and I have no first-hand experience in dealing with it.  All I understand is that the 8-week culture is mandatory.  Is the process of determining sputum result different for kids?

Thanks in advance.  Hope this will be useful for others as well.

Go thru with CRBA, a denial is already expected anyway because according to you the bio father is no where to be found so he can't sign the forms.  The consul will downright deny CRBA upon interview the minute you explain the situation.

Once CRBA is denied, the child can chase the IR2.

PhilippinesNeed advise

Thank you all for your insights.

My hope now is to get slots for interview sometime in August or September. My kids do not want to transfer to a public school where it is cheaper because they reasoned out that they will have to do another adjustments, new uniforms, new friends, etc.... I hope they will release new dates soon. I would really regret it if they cannot come this year. :(

Moving to America is whole new adjustment too.

PhilippinesNeed advise

She can pay the tuition in monthly installments but once the kids are ready to leave, she will have to pay the entire balance in full.

We were in the same predicament back in 2011.  We were expecting interview in September but since its a bit far ahead we enrolled our 3 kids.  They got their visas in October.  They left for the US in December so I had to pay the tuition fees in full before Christmas (we were paying monthly installments).

My kids were quickly admitted to school right after Xmas break so in all they attended 12 months of schooling in 2011 (Philippines and US).

PhilippinesNeed advise

Good day to all.

I need advise please. I already have the packets for my children, however, I have never found an interview date for them which makes me frustrated. My problem now is it's school time. If I enroll them this year and they will be able come here, I will pay the tuition fees for the whole year and there are 3 of them. They go to a catholic university and it is quite expensive. I was hoping I can save the money for air fare instead of paying tuition fees which they cant use if they will come here. My other problem is that, what if I cannot find a date for an interview and I wasted their future instead by not enrolling them. I am a confused anxious mother right now. What do you think is best?

 Thank you for your insights.

hugs!

Ann

Most likely the schedules are already filled out.  You can check everyday for someone might cancel and a slot will open up.

Regarding the tuition, just ask your children if its okay with them to stop schooling temporarily.  Good luck.

Philippinespassport

Hey guys my Philippine passport will expire this coming October and I'm planning to renew and change to my married name at the same time. Is that okay prior to filing for spouse visa since I need to go to cfo as advised in the dfa I went to yesterday so they can accommodate my passport renewal? Thanks in advance.

Yes renew it now if you already have your NSO MC.  The beneficiary's passport is not a requirement in the initial i130 filing anyway.
