PhilippinesDOST SCHOLAR

For the visa application, you have to get the GREEN NBI clearance.  For travel abroad purposes.  When you get a "hit", you will wait 10-15 business days before your clearance will be released.  Depending on where you apply, some offices release it sooner.

PhilippinesDOST SCHOLAR

Having an NBI "hit" has nothing to do with you being a DOST scholar.  A "hit" simply means that your name is common and have a lot of namesakes.  I have a "hit" too but it was not an issue as long as your NBI annotation says "NO RECORD ON FILE" or "NO DEROGATORY RECORD".

PhilippinesCase Status: Ready... Still

Hi apple, do you know bah Kung anung status sa ceac if denied? Does it shows "denied" ? Or "Ap" ? Some say if it's "Ready" CO is still reviewing the case.
I can't deny sometimes I get paranoid. I'll try to relax and wait for the good news soon.

Waiting is really nerve wrecking.  Nakakaloka!  2 days before the interview I was already packed, ready-to-go na.  Hahahaha.

So far kung "ready" for review pa lang yan.  After that I think it will be either "AP" or "issued" na.

Might as well pack your stuff and finalize loose ends para pagdating ng visa fly na agad. That's what I did. Hehehehe. :-)

PhilippinesPolice Clearances NBI AND Barangay Clearances??
Lots of people (including my husband) from various visa categories have completed their cases at NVC submitting only an NBI clearance.

Maybe you are one of the few exceptions though.

Just to clear my previous post, barangay clearance is not a requirement for the NVC stage.

PhilippinesPolice Clearances NBI AND Barangay Clearances??

Police clearance is needed if the beneficiary lived or worked abroad (outside the Philippines) for 6 MONTHS (for K1) / 12 MONTHS (for IR/CR and other visa types) or more.  They need to get police clearance from that foreign country.

If the beneficiary lives and works in the Philippines only, the NBI clearance (the GREEN one) is all they need.

Barangay clearance is NOT needed.

PhilippinesCFO BRIBERY COMPLAIN

My fiance got hit with the Sputum test even though she has had her vaccinations and showed the paperwork. I told her to go back with 10,000php and ask the doctor to confirm if she really needs the sputum test. I know, wrong on so many levels but I would gladly pay it and some to bypass that 2 months waiting. Of course she is a better person than I and didn't go for it.

She has had a couple of medical exams done over the last year for new jobs and their x-ray's didn't show anything.

St Lukes doesn't care about medical exams/xrays conducted by other clinics/hospitals/doctors.  All they care about is their own findings because they are the only accredited facility by the U.S. DOS, USEM and CDCP.

There's no way to bypass the sputum.  If she doesn't want to undergo it, no visa.

PhilippinesBe careful with St. Luke's and your 1st Green card
When my children arrived in the US with my husband, the immigration officer at their POE (LAX) specifically told my husband to bring our children to the health center (or whatever they call it) because they need to get additional vaccinations.

My kids had their vaccines and repeated Tuberculin skin tests at no additional cost. The advice from the immigration officer actually helped.

PhilippinesCFO Seminar in Manila (May 30, 2013)

ladyheart2011
Hi everyone, I am a little bit confused about this.. My mother will have her interview on July 2nd so I told her to go to the CFO seminar to get it out of the way. When she arrived in Quirino office (that was last week), she was sent back and was told to come back when she gets her visa. They would not let her attend the seminar! I have read from a lot of people having the success of attending the seminar and coming back to get the sticker once the visa is issued. Did they change the policy? Do you have to have the visa before you attend the seminar?

Your mom needs to present the following requirements:
http://www.cfo.gov.p...-visa&catid=139

If your mom is 60 years old and above, she is exempted from attending the seminar. She will just need to register and get the sticker.

PhilippinesDoes my 17 year old K2 step daughter need an NBI clearance to follow to join?

I would advice that the 17 year old brings her NBI clearance during the interview.

The CENOMAR, no, unless she turns 18 prior to the interview.

apple21FemalePhilippines2014-04-13 14:01:00
PhilippinesCENOMAR at US Embassy in Manila

You do not need to submit a certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR). We received the requested documentation and referred the case to a consular officer for review.

We will notify you once the review is completed.

Ayan na ang sagot sa tanong mo. Under Administrative Processing ang case mo. Hintayin mo na kontakin ka ng Embassy once tapos na nila i-review ang case mo.
apple21FemalePhilippines2012-10-25 21:50:00
PhilippinesCENOMAR at US Embassy in Manila
If you call the NSO Hotline and request for a CENOMAR you will receive either:

A. CENOMAR - Certificate of No Marriage (aka Certificate of Singleness), meaning you were never married.

B. ADVISORY ON MARRIAGES - (aka CEMAR) This document will show all your previous and current marriages.

I was confused  too when I read here that we were supposed to provide an ADVISORY ON MARRIAGES form aside from our NSO Marriage Certificate to prove that we're already married to our LPR spouses.

Anyway, the sooner you get it the better. Good luck.

apple21FemalePhilippines2012-10-25 07:38:00
Philippinesmarriage cert?

The 6-month waiting period is the "normal" waiting time that the LCR will tell you UNLESS you apply for an ADVANCE ENDORSEMENT.

apple21FemalePhilippines2014-04-12 13:04:00
Philippinesmarriage cert?

You can request a certified true copy of your marriage certificate from the Local Civil Registry (LCR).  You can send that together with the i130.

The NSO MC will be needed later on in the NVC stage and if your wife will renew her passport into her married name.

Philippineslate registration on birth certificate
glad to help.
apple21FemalePhilippines2012-10-01 22:05:00
Philippineslate registration on birth certificate
well, you're the only person who can answer that because the reason for late registration of birth certificates would vary depending on the circumstances surrounding the person's birth.

example:
my mother also have a late registered bc because she was born at their ancestral home (in the province) by a "manghihilot" around the 1940's. she was only required to get an NSO issued bc because she applied for a passport. other than that, there was no real reason for her to do so. but anyway, she told NSO the reason is because her mom ang the "manghihilot" was not aware that it was their obligation to report her birth at the local municipal registry.

Yes, you can go anytime just as long as you don't have your monthly period.  Be prepared to tell them the 1st and last day of your last period.

Thanks a lot apple! I'm half way done with the documents because I still don't have my AOS files. I think we will be eligible with i864ez though because my mom filed a separate petition for my bro. I'll just have to confirm it to the embassy tomorrow. smile.png

With regards to the medical, I read your post yesterday that you just brought your acknowledgement letter(?) wherein there is a case number stated in there. My brother didn't receive any letter but he already filed for a CoA. Do you think the SLEC will accept ds261 instead?

Its not an acknowledgement letter.  I brought the email sent by NVC that shows my name as beneficiary and my MNL case number.

PhilippinesK129f visa with estafa

when do you need to send the NBI clearance? it doesn't even say here >> http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

NBI is very much needed.  No one gets exempted, unless you're 15 years old and below.

7. NBI CLEARANCE (Green Form): Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant?s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names ever used. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of ?No criminal record?, or "No pending case?. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is considered valid only for one year from the date it is issued. You may contact NBI at (632) 523-82-31 to 38. The NBI website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph/.

Always refer to the US Embassy Manila's official page for all requirements:  http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3217.html

PhilippinesBIG PROBLEM with birth certificate

If he has a photocopy or extra NSO BC (the old one) that has his first name, bring that as well as proof.

apple21FemalePhilippines2014-05-06 11:45:00
PhilippinesBIG PROBLEM with birth certificate

well.. he's had a passport for several years now... and his bc is the green one and not the yellow one from nso...

NSO changes the security paper (SECPA) every now and then.  I had both yellow and the yellow-green-ish one but all my info is the same.

If the prior NSO BC that he got (regardless of SECPA color) contains his first name, getting a new one now should also contain his first name.  He must go to the Local Civil Registry (LCR) and obtain a certified true copy of his BC (that should reflect his first name as well).  Bring that to NSO main to have it sorted out.

If his BC from the LCR does not contain his first name, that's a problem.  He may have it corrected there if ever.
