K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportspacket 4 for Filipino september interviewees?

hi my interview is set on the 11th of sept, didnt rcv packet 4 yet either. called embassy and girl told me it was already sent july 13. not sure where they mailed it, not able to asked where, hope to call again to know where. but in case we dont get it, how do we get our appt letter. oh by the way, embassy website is not updated as to our schedule so i am not sure where to get the appt letter. hope someone here knows where we can get the appt letter.

thanks God bless all

hi regie, i suggest you call the embassy again and ask when and where your packet was sent. i called the embassy yesterday morning (monday) and lorraine said it was sent out (meaning: forwarded to DHL) only last Thursday, July 26. This confused me because when i called a few weeks ago, she said the packet was already sent out last July 13. I guess "SENT OUT" has many meanings  . anyway, lorraine told me to wait a couple more days and guess what, i got it this afternoon. The DHL guy delivered it.

i hope you get yours soon!

hi everyone, most of you now may be busy preparing for the interview but let me share the good news that we finally got our dates! August 29 (medical) and September 5 (interview). I've been quietly lurking this forum for the past weeks and was kinda 'jealous' that most of you made it to the June approval wave. For some reason, it took almost one month for our papers to travel from USCIS to NVC and finally reached the US embassy June 18 and therefore didn't make it to the June 12 cut-off.

Anyway, we have our dates and i'm happy. Just a bit sad that i couldn't join your "bonding" hehehe... Goodluck to all of you and please do share your interview experience.

CFO done.....got my certificates... :D :D

Summary

I arrived at St. Mary's in Cebu for the guidance and counseling at 7:15 A.M. and I am 8th on the list. They will accept 15 only. We were ushered inside the office at exactly 7:30 A.M. We were called one by one. Once called, submit photocopies of my and fiance's birth certificates, passports, (include marriage contract if married). I presented also original copies of these documents together with my 2 valid IDs with photographs. A form was given for me to fill-up. Once done, submitted and paid Php 250.00. Was called again for a picture shoot using a webcam. The picture will be printed on the blue certificate (like the NBI clearance). After all 15 are done, as a group we were ushered inside a room for orientation or guidance and counseling which ends at 12:00 noon. Afternoon session was the one on one counseling. If counselors finds you OK, you will get your blue certificate. I received my blue certificate at 3: 15 P.M. Next stop was CFO office (rode a taxi).

CFO: Make sure to photocopy your blue certificate and the receipt of the Php 250.00 from St. Mary's. I submitted my photocopies and presented the original copies at the counter. Paid Php 400.00 and wait...minutes later, I received my white certificate (looks white). If you already had your visa, they will stamp or put a sticker next/beside your visa/passport. I don't have my visa yet. I will come back to CFO to register once I will have my visa and show to them my certificates from St. Mary's and CFO as proof that I have completed the seminar....then they will stamp/put sticker to my visa/passport.

Arrived home at 4:30 P.M.....totally exhausted!

But it was fun and I really enjoyed the guidance and counseling at St. Mary's. Talked and shared stories with the ladies too.

thanks for sharing your CFO seminar experience Bernie4Bien  will inquire about it at the PRISM office here in Manila and also get this thing done and over with so i don't have to worry about it later.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsx-ray waiver during medical (pregnant)
Hi? is there anybody here from the Philippines who was pregnant during the medical exam and did not undergo x-ray?

I was at St. Luke's yesterday (i'm 14 weeks pregnant) and the nurses informed me that i have to wear an abdominal shield during the procedure but they could not guarantee that it's 100% safe so i did not take it. However, they also said that "most" pregnant women they encountered agreed to take it.

Will my x-ray waiver be a problem during the interview? helpsmilie.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow long is it taking to get packets out of the PI Embassy

How long is it taking them to set up the appointments and send the paperwork packets to the finance? Anyone know? wacko.gif
as far as i know and based on our own experience and "research" when we were still doing the K-1 process, the Philippine embassy only issues interview/medical appointment ONCE a month and that is during the 2nd week of each month, usually on the 12th or 13th of each month. This means if the embassy did not receive your papers before that cut-off, most likely you will be included in the scheduled release of appointments the following month. So its not really an issue of how many days or weeks your papers have been received, it's whether you made it to the monthly cut-off that matters.

in our case, our papers were received by the embassy June 18 (we missed the June 12 cut-off) and we got our appointment dates the following month, July 13. So my suggestion now since you did not make it to the November cut-off is for you to stay cool and relax and call again by the 2nd week of December.

As for the packet, your fiance will receive it at least one month before the Embassy Interview date.
Hello,
When I called the embassy the other day, they told me this is not the case there anymore..."the Philippine embassy only issues interview/medical appointment ONCE a month and that is during the 2nd week of each month, usually on the 12th or 13th of each month. This means if the embassy did not receive your papers before that cut-off, most likely you will be included in the scheduled release of appointments the following month."

They also told me they do K-1 interviews Monday through Friday now and used to only do them on Fridays.
Well it's good to hear that the embassy is working double-time now...i hope it's true biggrin.gif to verify this, i wonder how many filers got their interview dates this month? and when exactly did they receive their appointments? either the embassy is working harder now or they only changed the cut-off date devil.gif

as for the interviews, yes they do it all days of the week. my interview day was Wednesday.

good luck to all of you guys! good.gif

did the medicals last tuesday Sept 17 but i got the Oct 25 appointment schedule and since it took only a day for me to do the medical i rescheduled my appointment to an earlier date. i don't know how advance you want it to be but they will ask NVC letter or appointment letter for that.

I have the letter (email) from NVC stating my MNL case number.  I also called SLEC and that's what they told me to bring along with the other requirements.

PhilippinesPhil Passport

You should have put FILIPINO-AMERICAN in the application for marriage license if he holds both US and Phil passports BUT if he only holds a US passport it should be AMERICAN only.  Maybe you can have it corrected with the LCR.  Show proof of US citizenship plus the Legal Capacity to Marry.

Not putting American in the marriage certificate might cause issues when he files i-130 petition for you.

PhilippinesPhil Passport

You need to attend CFO because once DFA sees that your husband has foreign citizenship, it will be a requirement.

Regarding the ID cards, I think you can still use the old ones and in ADDITION you must present your original NSO marriage certificate and birth certificate.

What I did before is, I brought my voter's ID (maiden name), new driver's license (married name), original NSO BC and MC.

It would be nice if you can renew your DL into married name, at least you have an ID that bears your married name aside from your passport (and I think it's the fastest ID that can be renewed wink.png )

PhilippinesMedical & US Embassy Interview for Minor child

Hi everyone,

Allow me to ask those who may have a first hand information on my question:

Will minor children be allowed to be accompanied by another family member  inside St. Luke & the US embassy in Manila?  ( Say for example my Aunt )

Thank you!

I am wondering with the US Embassy in Manila if they will allow my aunt to go inside with my son.

thank you so much!!

Yes on both counts (based on my personal experience). good.gif

Yes, nothing is needed from the father.  As long as they were NEVER married, the illegitimate child belongs with the mother.

PhilippinesPre-Testing for upcoming medical

So if they do the sputum what will that consist of and how long if any are we delayed?

She will be required to go back to SLEC for 3 consecutive days to give the sputum sample then add another 2 months for sputum culture.  If the result is negative, the vaccines will be given and she can proceed to the interview.

If result is positive, add 6 months of TB treatment.

apple21FemalePhilippines2014-02-05 13:03:00
PhilippinesPre-Testing for upcoming medical

I had slight pneumonia back in 2009 and was prescribed to take antibiotics.  I was subjected to xray and the doctor saw little "dots" on my right lung.

That's the reason I did advance medical at SLEC because I was afraid something might show up on my chest xray.  Thank God everything went fine.  I didn't bother having a prior xray from another hospital/clinic because it's the xray that SLEC conducts that matter.

Anyway, 3rd party xrays are often times disregarded by SLEC.

I know someone who had an xray from a lab prior to the medical and results were "clear" but when he went to SLEC his xray was "suspicious" so he was subjected to do sputum.  He never had any medical history or any issue concerning his lungs.  He doesn't smoke too.

It's a 50-50 chance basically.

PhilippinesPLSSSS share your 221g timeline

The CENOMAR (Advisory on Marriages) is often times required for a spousal visa applicant because the embassy wants to double check that they didn't get married to another person after they have married their petitioner.

In my case, I have a fresh CENOMAR (AoM) during my interview but the pre-screener and consul didn't ask for it.  I didn't submit it to NVC as well.

But there were 2 people during the interview that I spoke with and they got 221g for the CENOMAR (AoM).  One was F2A and the other IR category.

I'm not sure for the right order but you can change her name on her:

- Philippine passport

- Social Security

- State ID/Driver's License

- GC

Always present her original NSO birth certificate and NSO marriage certificate to prove legal name change.

yeah the waiting for f2b is very very long.... my only hope for this is for the supreme court to finally allow aged out children of f4 petition to retain their parents old priority date... keeping my fingers crossed! :-(

I know how you feel. My husband was from F2B too. We continued normally with our life until his PD became current. We had 3 children along the way and they were able to immigrate with him so the 10 year wait was worth it coz all four of them benefited from it.

PhilippinesExpedited now waiting NVC receipt

so this is limited to certain categories only? i thought this is applicable to all

Yes.  Available for IR and K categories (immediate relatives/fiancee of US citizens) and F2A whose PD are current.

Waiting time for F2B Philippines is 10-11 years.

PhilippinesExpedited now waiting NVC receipt

thanks for the response guys. i have some few questions, assuming that uscis expedited the process and forwarded the case to nvc, i was petioned under f2b category (above 21, unmarried, son of lpr) if nvc will give me a priority date for me will i be able to get visa eventhough the priority date is not current yet per the visa bulletin? would it be possible?

No.  For F2B your PD must be current in order to be given an interview schedule.  You are not included in the expedite cases because your category is bound by visa limitations.  Sorry.

FYI:  USCIS gives the priority date because the PD is the date they received the i-130 filed by your petitioner.  NVC is the one who assigns the case numbers.
