Did he just wait for additional 3months for the visa. I think more than 3 months. If the 1 year should start from the last drug use on Feb 2012, the visa should have been ready for issuance on Feb 2013? And 3 months after that is May 2013 right? Did he wait for 1 year and 2 months for his visa to be issued as its already July 2014! If the countdown of the 1 year ban is from the date of the last drug use, what will happen to those who admitted drug use many years ago???   Sorry I cannot give the exact timeline.  I only posted what my friend told me.  Her brother is currently attending university so I guess they prioritized his studies hence the "delay" but the timeline for the beneficiary to contact the embassy is one year from the date of last drug use plus the 3 months waiting time for visa issuance.	apple21	Female	Philippines	2014-07-29 11:23:00

Was he able to get his visa already and is already in the US now?   The boy already got his visa early part of this month (July).   My friend said the one year ban is counted from the date of the last drug use (not from the date of the medical or interview).  So her brother contacted the embassy and he was advised to do the medical again (he paid the full medical fee).  After the medical was completed, USEM advised to mail in his passport via 2GO (no fee).  He no longer have to appear for another interview BUT he waited 3 months for his visa to be issued. Philippines	Admission of drug use at st lukes, is my visa automatically denied	I'd share what happened to my friend's 18yo brother.     The brother did the medical sometime April or May 2012.  Interview was June or July 2012.  The boy got a visa denial (F2A category, child of LPR) because he admitted during the medical that he smoked marijuana.  His last smoking incident was February 2012.  He was given a one year ban.   I don't know if your case will be treated differently because it happened so many years ago.  But kudos to you for being honest in the medical!  Good luck. Philippines	possible problem , fiancees child's birth certificate says that she is married	It was only in early 2004 that the law was passed granting illegitimate children to use the surname of their fathers provided that the father signed an "affidavit to use surname of the father" and acknowledged paternity on the birth certificate.   If they falsified the child's BC in 1998, they may have to go to the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) to have the issue resolved. Philippines	Same Sex K1 US Embassy Maila	Hi Guys.  Sorry to hear about the devastation during the storm.  I hope all family is well.  We just had our interview on 25 NOV at Manila.  It was a sucess! Cesario is traveling this month to the US.  We are able to watch the status updates as they take place on the CEAC website.  We just saw the status change to updated as of today and are confident that it indicates the visa packet is ready.  We will buy the plane ticket once he has the visa packet.  Don't forget the CFO requirement. We almost did, though he met a nice girl walking out together and the struck up a conversation about the CFO rquirement and so he took down the information.  He said everyone he spoke with was SUPER nice and the Filipina lady who interviewed him wanted him to go out and get me...i stood outside for four hours....four hours. The guards kept moving me along, but they did so with a smile.  There is actually a waiting area over to the left of the entry.  There are about 200 Filipinos waiting there for their family.  Also you won't be allowed to take any electronic devices into the consulate, so leave them in your room or you stay outside.  They said that the Fiances could not go in, but that is not true.  Many men accompanied their beautiful Filipina girlfriends into the consulate office.  After it was all said and done, the deputy chief sent a personal note congratulating both of us on the approval and asked us to share our story, which we are trying to figure out the best way to do so.  Be there on time for the appointment, but know, that appointment time is not just for you....it's for you and about 100 others.  Just be there on time.  He wlll need to show the guard the notice of action from USCIS and the appt letter he received from the consulate.  From there he will go through a series of windows and people. and he will wait and wait and wait.  Take photos as they will ask for them.  I believe you should take the I-134 too.  Either that or W2s or pay stubs.  The way we looked at it was that we carried a lot just in case.  We were more prepared than the boyscouts.  He was a nervous wreck.  But came out talking about how nice they were and how comfortable the whole thing was.   On the logistical side we stayed over at teh H2O manila hotel in the aquarium park.  it was pretty cool, but for heaven's sake don't choose a bay view room. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Package sent	hi, me and my fiancee are on the process of completing the i129f package, although we have read and take a look at the informations posted in here especially on the step-by-step guide (which is really very helpful), we are still having problems like the DOB of his former spouse, he couldnt remember that, we even posted a question here on what to do with that, and the answer that we got is "write unknown" which i think is right, but my fiancee is a very precise man, he wants to make it perfect so that we can avoid delay which is very understandable, so we need to wait till monday so that he can call the service center and ask for that, anyway, i just want to ask what exactly did your fiance put on the i129f package, and did he made exact copies of that? thanks...	mikeuday19	Female	0	2008-06-08 05:24:00

Philippines	Where's your hometown?	I hailed from a small province of GUIMARAS, specifically in the town of JORDAN. It's just a small island composed of 5 towns. It was a sub-province of ILOILO until 1982, if i'm not mistaken. After that it became an independent province. It's a 10-minute ride by motorboat or a ferryboat from ILOILO to the island. Guimaras is well known for it's sweetest mangoes, which in fact the local government prohibits bringing of mangoes, in any form, (seed, fruit, seedling) into the locality to prevent mixed-breed. The people celebrate MANGAHAN festival every May, which is usually most harvest takes place. Other than being well known for sweetest mangoes, the island is also known for fine, white beaches which become popular to local and foreign tourists. Alubihod and Pulang Pasayan (Red Shrimp) are just few of the finest beaches we have. I spent most of childhood days on this island, finished high school in an exclusive catholic school for girls in ILOILO CITY. We moved to MANILA in the late 80's where i finished college. After calling the State Department every day for the past 2-1/2 weeks I finally got Maria's interview date and on Friday the 13th. It turned out to be a lucky day for us. Maria's interview date is September 13th and the exam is on September 6th. I hope that those still waiting will soon receive good news on their K-1's. After reading your post this morning, i told my fiance in the US to call the State Department first thing in the morning Monday and guess what, we also have our dates: August 29 (medical) and September 5 (interview). i'm so happy! thanks for your update and goodluck! This confused me because when i called a few weeks ago, she said the packet was already sent out last July 13. I guess "SENT OUT" has many meanings . anyway, lorraine told me to wait a couple more days and guess what, i got it this afternoon.
