PhilippinesSharon's experience at USEM 6/25

She was in Japan for 5 months?  They are wrong.  The threshold is 6 months.

If she's close to the 6-month threshold (5 months + so so days), they can ask for the PC.

If the medical expires before she gets the visa, chances are she will have to re-do it.

Better ask SLEC if they extend the validity of the DOT.   :huh2:

PhilippinesPhilippines Immigration Packet Small Tear on Paperwork

I really would like to but if I do it'll be included on those documents that has been sent for 221g, it could takes weeks or months before it can be delivered back to me. I already booked my flight so as much as I wanted it to be replaced at this case I'll just take a risk.

Your call.

PhilippinesPhilippines Immigration Packet Small Tear on Paperwork

Hi! I just got my visa packet and I notice a slight damage one the envelope. I called US embasy Manila and they said that I should send the packet back to them rather than risking this and have a problem in my POE. If i'll send this back to them they don't have a definite time on when will the packet be send back to me. I am torn whether I should send it to them or just risk it, anyway is just a small tear. Please help me.

Return it.  That's an obvious tear and CBP officer at POE will notice it.  Demand a definite date from USEM.

Philippinesfiancée visa background check

Of course and we do have concrete evidence and enough proof that it is a bona fide relationship. We just want to make sure that her former nursing profession as a registered nurse won't raise any red flags. That they may think that she's only marrying me to get through the line to work here as a nurse...they only issue so many work visas for filipina nurses to work here so hence my concern.

Then you have nothing to worry about.

If YOU think she's marrying you to get a green card then that's a whole different story.

Philippinesfiancée visa background check

I've never heard of anyone being denied a visa because of their nursing profession.

What you should focus on is proving that your relationship is bonafide because that is what the embassy will be scrutinizing on.

Philippinesprevious xray film

It doesn't matter if you bring it.  If they find your chest xray suspicious, sputum it is.  They don't care about past xrays because they weren't the one who conducted it and that is already 6 months old.

PhilippinesTB Testing

Being a smoker doesn't put you at a higher risk of failing the chest xray.  Based on my hubby's experience, he was a smoker too but he passed SLEC's exam with flying colors.  He quit smoking the day he left for the US.  :D

I was terribly worried about the chest xray too because back in 2009 I had slight pneumonia.  My Pulmonologist saw some small marks on my right lung. I was put in antibiotics for a week.  I got better naman kaya lang hindi na ulit ako nagfollow-up xray after that.

So when my case was near case completion at NVC, I decided to do the medical in advance.  I thought of having xray done at a laboratory kaya lang SLEC will not use that as basis kasi gusto nila sila mismo ang magco-conduct ng xray sa atin, so derecho na ako sa SLEC.  Masama rin naman sa katawan yung dobleng xray, di ba, lalo na kung hindi 6 months ang pagitan.  Fortunately, okay naman yung results ko.

Good luck po.

Philippines2go

You may not get a test message from 2go as we did not. My wife called 2go and sure enough the visa had been there going on the second day with no test message to her. So stay in touch with your local 2go office.

Yes that happens too.

When I got 2GO's text, my packet was already delivered.  Delayed sms.

You will receive a text message from 2GO if your visa packet is ready for pick-up.

Usually within 7-10 business days.

PhilippinesAOS - Principal w/ derivatives asked to submit docs

Beneficiaries/principal applicants do not submit AOS forms.  Might be a misprint.  Call NVC.

My husband was an F2B beneficiary too with 3 derivative children.  He didn't submit his own ITR or AOS.  It was his dad (petitioner) who submitted the AOS forms and docs together with his mom because they are married filing jointly on the tax returns.

hmmmm...not sure if it's unlocked...I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 direct from Globe.  How can I tell?

Usually if its from Globe there's a sticker that says it's "Globe locked".  Otherwise, there's a chance its unlocked.  Try it with a non-Globe sim.

PhilippinesST. LUKES PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

ok. so i went to psychological evaluation today and the psychologist told me that I CAN'T MARRY MY FIANCE due to the grounds of my annullment which is psychological incapacity. the psychologist didn't give me a chance to talk and defend myself  BUT he RUDELY shouted at me and told me about my previous annullment. he gave all the papers back to me and told me to go home instead.

Really?   :o

PhilippinesST. LUKES PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

I don't know much about the annulled portion being automatically put on psych evaluation but I can say that a divorce does not. My wife is legally divorced and no psych evaluation was ordered for her (maybe age has something to do with it triggering a psych evaluation).

Yeah, maybe so.  Thanks for the correction.

PhilippinesST. LUKES PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

If your previous status is annulled or divorced, SLEC will automatically put you in psych evaluation.

PhilippinesIS THERE ANY 5YRS OLD THAT GOT DENIED?

Thank you guys for the reply!. now i feel better...She passed her medical at st lukes yesterday. Thank God she has no problems.. and regarding her birthcertificate, im her biologocal mother, she has my family name, her biologocal father's name was not on her BC and i wasnt maried with him either...

She was petitioned as a step-child.  Her surname as an illegitimate doesn't matter.  What matters is you married your USC hubby before your daughter's 18th birthday.

Try submitting the DS-5525.  Since you are applying at the US Embassy Manila, they are aware of the laws governing illegitimate children that the mothers have sole custody.

PhilippinesConsular interview Monday...no time for panic, but...

Thanks Apple21,

I understand the need for caution, but If the answer is yes, wouldn't the 129F already be reviewed, or in review, by USCIS or NVC prior to the interview ? My documentation was detailed and triple checked.

Your feedback was and is appreciated,

                                                             Rob

USCIS reviewed your initial packet hence the approval.  I think NVC doesn't review it at all because your file didn't stay long with them and as far as I know all they do for K1 filers is issue the case numbers.  The embassy will do the final review during the interview and will ask for more evidence as the consul sees fit.

Philippinesinterview :)

congrats!!!!

so the ABCD  nbi w/ no aka work....

Yup!It worked for me.But i still advise you to get the aka.I am a worrier so i havent slept last night thinking about it and my poor hubby didnt know what else to say to console me.Haha.I had a back up plan though since i also have another nbi clearance with just my maiden name on it(got it just a week before we got married). They didnt ask for it so i just shut up.hehe

It worked because it reflected your full & complete name (maiden + married) so no need for AKA.  That's the way I submitted my NBI too and didn't have any issues.   ;)

Congrats!   :joy:

PhilippinesFamily-based Immigrant Interview next week (CSPA, retrogression)

Beneficiaries and derivative applicants 18 years old and above are required to present a CENOMAR.  Your visa will not be approved unless you submit the CENOMAR.

Go personally at the nearest NSO branch.  You'll get it on the same day or the next.

PhilippinesFamily-based Immigrant Interview next week (CSPA, retrogression)

Yes, you need a CENOMAR and all of you must have an updated NBI Clearance (the green one for travel abroad).

Wear decent clothes.  Slacks, polo shirt, shoes (smart casual).

Bring also the latest (2012) Income Tax Return and W2 of your petitioner and joint sponsors (if you have joint sponsors).

PhilippinesBaptismal certificate asked for at IR-2 interview? (split topic)

What expiration?  The USCIS forms that you submitted is not expired.  You're getting worried over nothing.   <_<

The father being "unknown" doesn't matter too.  There are so many illegitimate children who immigrated in the US via K2 or other visa category.  You're not the first case.  The embassy is very much aware of that.

PhilippinesInterview Questions

Married or single (18 years old and above), its best to obtain a CEMAR/CENOMAR.

To get the CEMAR (Advisory on marriages), you need to fill out the request/application for CENOMAR.

I had the CEMAR during my interview but the consul didn't ask for it.  There were 2 other married applicants who got 221g because they were asked for the CEMAR.  Better be prepared!   :)
