K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Chennai Consulate - Packet 3	Thanks for the prompt reply Crazy & Mad I thought so when we started it all, but seems to differ from consulate to consulate in India... i got to know of this by reading on VJ that every consulate exp shared by members sounds different.. i just wanted to be sure before i proceed and had these questions. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Chennai Consulate - Packet 3	Hi Vjers, I know am jumping around, but i needed to know a few things..so that i can be all prepared.. am a KI filer here are a few questions : 1. I have read in forums here that chennai consulate does not send us a Packet 3 but only packet 4 ? 2. How long does the case take to get to chennai from NVC ? 3. Once the case reaches chennai consulate.. do i need to call and book for an interview date or will it come along with packet 4. 4. The checklist i have for the interview is 2 DS 156, 1 DS 156K, 1 DS 230, Birth Cirtificate, Passport, Police Certificate, proof of relationship and affidavit of support, Medical reports, all the fees - Am i right or do i need anything more ? [ Am single - never married so is my Fiance ] I recieved my NOA2 on the 10th of Oct 2008 and i see a lot of posts that i have read but nothing specific to Chennai, India and the consulate website doesn't have a lot of information there ..I hope someone has sailed this boat and can help me get on the right boat.. any information will be appreciated. INDIA After waiting for 4 hours at the consulate a 5 minute interview gave us the visa... we will write a complete review after we get back to my home town with better internet facilities... All of us here are praying for you and am quite sure you will hear from them this month the latest.. just keep up your hope and never let anythign ruin your relationship.. its a test and show them you can stand by it You can get the rest of the documents ready as the process is quite quick after the NOA2 and you wouldnt get enough time to breathe if you wait for last minute.. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 08 k1 filers ~ CSC	Called US consulate general, chennai today to check if they had received our package and i was suprised when the guy told me we had our interview scheduled for the 1st of Dec 2008, am still shocked as we dint expect it to be this quick, we haven't had any packet yet but he said i should have something mailed to me soon and should receive it within the next week. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 08 k1 filers ~ CSC	Update on my journey : I got my Vaccination certificate on the vaccines i had taken from the hospital today. - costed only 100 ruppes and 30 mins of my time waiting for them to type it out. I got my Local district PCC today.. i gave the application and within 10 minutes i had it all signed and ready - Costed 0 rupees as i had my friend accompany me and the superintendent of police is her dad , they treated me well and i even got 2 origanl copies. I applied for a PCC from the passport office today and they said i should get it within the next 12 days [ i have sent my passport for the stamp ] - Costed 330 rupees and an hour to fill the form and submit all they wanted. I got my original birth certificate from the registrar of births - costed 50 rupees I got my mom and the parish priest to sign in for the affidavit that they know about our relationship and have approved for our wedding in the USA after my visa. [ I have no pictures with my family, as we are not picture people] - costed 200 rupees I guess the only thing left right now is to print out the proof which is about 100 pages and then highlight all they need to see and mark out all thats personal which would cost me a weekend. I also need to wait for my packet3 meanwhile fill out the forms and print them out as i know the forms that would be needed. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 08 k1 filers ~ CSC	yippy.. am done with my vaccinations I took MMR, Tdap and Varicella all today on three different places and my entire body is feeling sore now but am glad am done. I also got the name on my birth cirtificate corrected. Will be going to get the PCC work started by monday so i should have it within 10-15 days. Then all i wait is for packet 4 as US consulate chennai does not send packet 3. All proof has been printed and just need to sort it out.. will print the forms while am waiting for my PCC. Brad is getting the affidavit of support and other proof and entire copy of I-129F ready. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 08 k1 filers ~ CSC	Congrats to all approved.. and hannah you seem to be the luck one.. you were waiting for your noa2 and you have almost reached your packet 3 stage We got our RFE in post on the 1st of Oct, they asked for circumstances of meeting the beneficiary.. we din't have any photos clicked when Brad was in india but just a sketch of us both from a street in bangalore .. i sent him emails that he had sent before he came to meet me, a copy of the sketch and the bill which was in the cover and i was lucky to find it there, also e-tickets of me and brad traveling to my hometown to meet my family [ I had thrown away the original ticket - my bad luck as we never knew we wanted all this] ..And by the way brad is yet to recieve all the documents i sent, it should be with him on the 8th, i sent it via a private courier company which costed me a fortune .. we had mentioned in the letter that he came to meet my family initially... we are planning to write another letter explaining the meeting and every bit of it.. would this be good enough ?
