PhilippinesDo i need to renew my passport name
Ang alam ko po pwedeng bumalik lamang sa maiden name kung annulled ang marraige. Try check other case or call the embassy para mas malinawan ka, since fiance visa po pala kayo.

Nung nagfill up kayo ng form maiden name din po ba?

PhilippinesTB testing at St. Luke's
I m not on medical stage though I have my annual medical exam results and xray. I will surely tell St. Lukes about my regular check up, sp they will not freak me out. I have a card i will surely schedule my annual exam after the release of my NOA 2. Also you may take milk frequently as it was I heard the doctors recommendation to my classmates who were suspiciously found problems in their xray results. I was once a nursing student too, I may likely visit my doctors for the prescription of drug that will show negative results on skin test. One of my classmates was given a prescription, he didnt worry about the medical. Hope this will help you, as for me this is my plan of action while waiting.

PhilippinesDoes St. Luke's only accepts Visa apllicants for medical check up?

Hi everyone,
I wonder if I can have my x-ray and sputum tests done in advance at St. Luke's just to give me a heads up before my medical check up.BTW, I haven't yet received my NOA2, but I have read so much about this dreaded sputum tests. Can I do it there for my peace of mind?Or does this clinic only allows visa applicants for medical check up?

Jan

You can have medical exam in any hospital prior to your NOA2, but I think for the visa it is only the St. Lukes that is accredited for the US. (I may be wrong) The seminar in CFO was clear about St. Lukes for US emigrant.

I guess any hospital would accept health examination since you will be paying. I schedule my annual health exam after my NOA2. Call St. Lukes and inquire about your concern.

PhilippinesCFO question

Don't you think they should realize the person who has the visa to come to the us knows what they are getting into come it takes months to get one of these things and then they try to scare the people into not leaving #######? you don't see the us putting on "seminars" to scare people from going to other countries!

I am working as a social worker and many Filipinas dont know what they are into. I agree with the Office of President making this department in support of Filipino migrating abroad. I dont know why some find it scary... maybe it depends on the person. I may say it is informative and empowering rather than what other people perceived it to be.

It depends, mine was held in Manila and they are very kind. The seminar is very helpful too, it was an eye- openner. The counseling session was not even scary. I think it is case to case basis.

PhilippinesHospital
Hi, is this her first child? If yes, she needs to give birth to hospital because the delivery clinic will not accommodate her if it is her first. The normal delivery here in the Philippines could amount to 7k to 25k pesos. If cesarian 50-100k pesos.

Please be informed that if the hospital knew about that the baby is fathered by you, even the PCSO may not help you. They will require necessary documents and do back ground checking before they help.

It would be best if you can be with her 2 weeks before her conception in that way youll be a great encouragement for her.

I pray that she will have a normal delivery and may you be united soon.

Philippinescivil documents from the nso
At NVC level, they required all original except for photocopy of passport page. Marriage contract and abirth certificate. Also have her get marraige index or CENOMAR ( certificate of marraige for married on) this may be asks during the interview at the embassy level.

PhilippinesPre Departure Orientation Seminar
What is your departure time? Be there at 4am so that you can get the first 15 slots. The line is so long, I arrived 5am at CFO and i was numbered 25th already. Because of that I attended the afternoon session. Check the website. cfo.gov.ph the schedule and requirements are listed there. Your passport needs CFO certificate so that you can pass through immigration at the airport. If not you cannot enter the plane, they will not accept you inside. Get it the day of your travel, if your flight is at night. If not you need to rebook your flight. Mind you, i have a good friend who was thrown out of aiport because she did not have CFO sticker in her passport and CFO counseling certificate at hand. Good luck.
Jon and GayFemalePhilippines2013-05-12 02:55:00
PhilippinesIs it possible
I suggest that she must take her medical exam a week before the interview. After the interview and she got her visa in her passport and you already booked her flight, she can go to Manila a day before her flight. The seminar and counseling will only take 2 hours, but the CFO certificate may take a while depending on how many are doing their transactions for that day.

I think this is the best option for you since you are on fiance visa.

PhilippinesNSO Birth Certificate

is the red ribbon authentication by the DFA be made as per request by the NVC/USCIS/Embassy? Or should we just go to DFA to have it authenticated?...uhmm just curious

just go directly to DFA old building in Libertad, Pasay, that is where they authenticate the documents

Jon and GayFemalePhilippines2013-05-18 05:03:00
PhilippinesNSO Birth Certificate

NSO documents have no seal or stamps. But usually people going abroad have their documents authenticated by DFA (birth cert., marriage cert, diploma, transcript, police clearance, NBI clearance etc.)

Jon and GayFemalePhilippines2013-05-16 20:58:00
PhilippinesNSO Birth Certificate

it may mean a red ribbon from department of foreign affairs (DFA)? Have NSO birth certificate request for red ribbon by DFA. Maybe that is what they are asking from you.

I'll go with what is her present documents say, put grandparents as her parents in document. This usually happens because Filipino are conservative, so grandparents became mothers and fathers in legal document for children not to be illegitimate. If all documents are consistent then why change? The attorneys need money. (Joke) there will only be a problem if your fiancé decided to get her parents and bring to US after. I've known some people who threat their grandparents as parents, in papers and actual situation and they don't have problem about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsi give up on noa2

Has it been over 60 days yet?

We just filed a service request on January 16, 2013. The request should goes with the USCIS timeline past your date of NOA1 or they will ignore service request. We filed service request last December and my hubby asked them what happened to that, they answered it was disregarded since they were still processing May 22. we filed again and we are expecting an answer in 60 days. Another waiting time. Hopefully we will hear something before March, as it also happens to people in VJ. Service request answer is just to pacify people.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsi give up on noa2

When you did a request for being outside normal processing time, did you receive a letter stating they should have a decision within 90 days at any point ? Just curious if this is a letter they send out to everyone who does a service request. Hoping we both have some news soon that we are through this long wait!

Ours is 60 days, as stated in their response.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOMBUDSMAN
Two weeks ago we presented our case to Ombudsman and said they will schedule visitation to VSC this week due to bulk complaints they are receiving (phone conversation).

This is exactly their response to us in email.

"Thank you for the recent request for assistance that you submitted to the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman. Your submission is being reviewed to determine how our office may assist. If we are able to help, you will receive correspondence regarding the inquiry from our office within 45 business days. If our office is unable to assist, we will notify you promptly."

I hope we really know what is going around. In my observation, our petition cannot be in expedite process (fast process like others), they have their own system and timeline as they say. Even we have done all the follow-ups, service requests, asked help from congressman and Ombudsman for due process, they will still work according to their discretion and convenient time. If like us, we are not lucky in random approval they are doing. The only answer is to WAIT.

They contacted Vermont and gave us the same answer, just like the Congressman told us. "Our papers is under process." We have approved expedite processing since February 12, 2013, the answer is wait. I am quite frustrated now, really really sad. Ten months is approaching and not hearing anything from them makes me really mad.

By the way response my expedite even it is approved, always follow the words "shortly" and "soon."

I hope you get the picture when the process goes beyond the processing time. By the way, thanks for allowing me to share. :crying: :crying: :crying:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports2nd Senator Contact
We wrote the congressman after several months without clearer answer we wrote to Ombudsman. They have given us the same answer wait for 60 days etc.

Honestly, we did everything. We even got expedite request approved last February 12 as well.

I realized that even we did everything at our end, after the hard work and follow through. USCIS will still work according to their system. We were depressed from 8 months to almost 10 months of waiting. We got approved on our 297 days.

Its really up to you whether you will inquire like how we did, when there are lots of people here in VJ who waited and got their NOA2 without being hurt of useless answers from above mentioned offices.

Cheer up!!!! You'll be together soon. You will not even remember the pain when NOA2 is at your hand. :star: :star: :star:

for the Filipino going to US (spouse and fiance) it suppose to be in St. Lukes as indicated in Commission of Filipino Overseas (CFO) If you have the interview date, she can go to St. Lukes few days before the interview, she can stay in Manila for that week maybe (about the time of release of the medical exam that I dont know). But she can take the medical exam upon knowing her interview date.

Please refer to the link below for the steps in Medical Exam of St. Lukes.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuicker I-130 Approval?

Now listen to me i know most of you people are going to think this is some joke or bull but im dead serious1

I got my I130 approved a little over a month..

I sent a I129F

So im guessing if yo send a I129F after your I130 they approve it faster.. Also som others that got approved within a month sent a I129F so if you put two and two together.. it makes sense

I figure the uscis gets the I130 then puts it in a cabinet.. then later you send a 129f they need to go to your i130 to check so they probobly pull it out of the cabinet. Then the uscis guys probobly like.. man since i already got his i129f in my hand and his i130 i might as well check on his case now cause i dont want to have to refile the papers in order back in the cabinet.. So since he alreayd has it in his hand he probobly works on it real fast.

I know it sound bogus but thats my thought

Dont forget to update your timeline.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuicker I-130 Approval?
False information! To provide you the document that will clarify this, please se below our correspondence with USCIS:

Your request for expeditious processing was approved on February 15, 2013.  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) records show that you filed a Petition for Alien Fiancé (e) (Form I-129F) under the K3 visa classification and the Petition for Alien Relative (Form I-130).  Please note that when a Form I-129F and Form I-130 petitions are concurrently filed, USCIS will adjudicate the petitions together.

Our I130 waited for the timeline of I-129F, made it longer time to wait.

Case to case basis, ready all the requirements and pay as early as you can when you receive the invoice. We finished AOS and DS3032 together. My NOA 2 is March 18 and we just finished IV Bill. We sent the DS230 after paying the bill. My husband calls NVC and follow up on our papers whenever we send and expect an invoice. We are done with invoices and bills in less than a month. We are only waiting to finish at NVC level.

Yes I think we have the same understanding now. But I would like to inform you that in the Phils. You need to attached that divorced decision in her marriage certificate so that it will be adopted in our country. I have sent you the links.

You may contact National Statistics Office on how the divorced decision will be attached to her marriage contract before. Ill be sending you the link too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures

My filipino Girlfriend resides in Japan under a permanent visa. She was married in Japan and has a daughter by a Japanese man. She was divorced in japan two years ago. Under Japan laws she is legally divorced . Under Philippines law there is no divorce procedure only annulment. Will she be required to undergo the annulment procedure before we can apply for a fiancee visa for the USA. Since she is living in Japan can we apply for the fiancee visa there. This situation is confusing to me. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Okay take 2:

This is what the Family Code says:

Where a marriage between a Filipino citizen and a foreigner is validly celebrated and a divorce is thereafter validly obtained abroad by the alien spouse capacitating him or her to remarry, the Filipino spouse shall have capacity to remarry under Philippine law. (As amended by Executive Order 227)

Also she may contact National Statistics Office for her divorce papers to attached in marriage contract before, so she will be cleared in the Philippines.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
First you may consult a lawyer for this case.

But in my little knowledge about the proceedings in the Philippines, here she is legally married. You may be needing a CENOMAR or certificate of no marriage in filing for finace visa to support your documents that she can be married to someone. If you decide to take it legally in the Philippines and you got your annulment approval, they will attached these papers with her marraige contract in National Statistics Office or local Civil Registry. In that way when you get documents in the Philippines she is cleared and no more hustles in your life later.

It is better to start the annulment as soon as possible, so you can go on with the journey of freely loving each other in the context of marraige. Good luck to your journey.

You may also check the Philippine Family Code for your reference.

I know someone who had her interview last May 6 and her papers are still under administrative review until now. Its almost a month without visa. St. Lukes requires medical exam one week prior to interview. They shall be the one who will forward the results to US embassy. She will have a passport with two stamps from St. Lukes if she is done with the medicals, in that way they will know your done with the procedure.

Follow Darnell, go to interview and have 221g and wait for administrative review to finished.
