US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionForm DS-230 (in pkt 3) - London
Here's a link to the current form at the state department. You should only need the first two pages because Part 2 (pp 3-4) should be in package 4. Not too sure if you can send in paperwork for your K2-child, though. Shouldn't he/she receive his/her own package 3?

Hello! I am pretty sure it is $131 for the visa no matter where you are. Check in Embassy Info to be sure.
As long as your BC was a certified copy - he will be fine!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNot going to be with fiance during interview......
My Fiance had his interview Tuesday and I was not there. We made sure he had all the evidence we could get together. My mother wrote a letter, a mutual friend wrote a letter and I wrote an explaination as to why I could not be there (single mom, end of school year etc). They didnt ask for a shred of evidence and approved him. I think it is the luck of the draw. Louis is calm, confident and open to share his feelings for me. He is not shy. I think his personality benefitted him.. I was nervous about not being there but it worked out.
If you can't go - dont beat yourself up about it. If they deny they will most likely grant a 2nd interview and then you can call everyone you know and ask for a loan and get to the 2nd interview. :-)

I am very sorry for what happened to you. Sometimes it is hard to beleive a mother can act like this.
I would also say that revenge is not really the answer. If you let he live her life the way she wants then something will come along and bite her in the a$$ ... I am a big beleiver in treating other people as you would want to be treated...

I think you should live your life well and be a wonderful father to your child.

I WISH I HAD FILED 1-130 STAND ALONE!

I've been thinking the exact same thing lately. At first I was thinking it was because of where my SO is from (Nigeria), but I have a friend who is married to one of my SO's friends and she got her approval in 3 months from the time she filed the I130. She was at the CSC, not VSC. Obviously that IS the problem!! What the hell do they do all damn day everyday?? How can it be soooo different from one place to the next?? I just don't get it??

I've stopped by and read this thread from time to time, but not a frequent joiner. I'm STILL waiting for my approval (K3) as well so i figured I'd stop by and say "hi" today. I'm missing my husband lots and lots lately, but I am going to see him in March (61 days) so at least that gives me something to look forward to!!

This exact same thing happened to me when I filed first, only my debit card was stolen. Uscis should send you a notice giving you 10 to 14 days to replace the check and if you pay it within the allotted time you will not need to refile, but since you haven't received anything from them you need to call them asap or you most definately WILL have to refile. They will accept a debit card over the phone as well, at least that's what they told me when I called. This was awhile ago for me though so things may have changed........hope this helps.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNO record of case AFTER visa interview??

Received the following response back from the embassy:

Thank you for your inquiry. The administrative processing is not yet complete. We will contact you as soon as the admin. processing is complete and schedule an appointment. At the time of your next appointment you should come with the medical examination report. Thank you for your understanding.
We hope this is helpful.

This is sooooo frustrating. I really thought we were almost done and now God only knows how long this process is going to be. They led us to believe that once the medical was complete he would go back to the embassy and that would be it. I guess now this isn't the case at all and I may be looking at up to another year????

Okay so I called the department of state yesterday to inquire why they have no record of our case in the system. Apparently the interviewer gave my husband the incorrect case number to inquire about. He was given the I130 case number, which is still sitting at the NVC since we interviewed on the I129. I have resent an email to the embassy with the correct case number and hopefully will get a new appointment. My husband is being stubborn and refuses to go to the embassy during the inquiring time until he has some sort of proof he's supposed to be there. He is afraid of being turned away. If anyone has anymore insite to this than me.........PLEASE share!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNO record of case AFTER visa interview??

My husband had his interview on April 21st, which went well. However, his medicals were not complete at that time. The interviewer told him to send an email to the embassy once they were complete requesting another appointment at the embassy at 1pm. I have sent an email and haven't heard anything yet. The interviewer made it sound like it might be difficult to get in touch with someone.....said "keep emailing them until you get an appointment". I also emailed them prior myself for a totally different reason after his interview and I got a response back saying they have no record of his case. Should I wait for an appointment or just have my husband return to the embassy with his medical results as well as the paperwork he was given at his interview??

Sylvia: I feel for you. I am about cried out now. Now I have to tighten up my boot straps and get down to business on the next steps to take. My husband's denial had nothing to do with fraud of any type, but with his mother refusing to answer questions. When I really think about it from the embassy's point of view, that can look like there was something to hide. I know the real reason as being that the embassy official did not identify herself so she didn't want to answer questions about her son without knowing. She called very upset asking me to invite the woman back because she felt she ruined our chances of being together. I didn't think it would be that big a deal since she did get a successful interview from my husband's brother, but apparently parents hold a lot of weight in determining the validity of a marriage. I am not sure how we will overcome this, but I will work to find a way.

2Hearts: I am willing to bet that his wife has no clue that he is about to hit her with the fact that he is wanting a divorce. I am also willing to bet that she doesn't know that he is conspiring behind her back.

I am thinking the same exact thing! I feel really bad for her.

I feel the same way. Its soooo frustrating being away from MY husband when this ####### is here with his wife for such a short amount of time and can't even hold it together for a year (not that the amount of time makes a difference but you know what i'm getting at) and he's already asking how to get his 10 year green card and divorce her. HELLOOOOO. It makes no sense to me. It will be a year since I saw my husband in March and I'm forced to spend money I don't have in order to visit him cuz we can't take the seperation. I know I haven't been waiting as long as some others, but this whole visa process is soooo depressing and then you add to it things like what this galaxy guy is doing and it makes me beyond angry! This is so utterly frustrating. I am in a crying mood, feeling the stresses of the burial at this distance. I filed in 2007 and sit in Visa hell wanting nothing more than to know a date we can be together here while I see people that can't stay together 3 months. I wish they would just replace the interview with a lie dectector and clean up the process. I know there are non contact devices to calulate the honestly in someones statements. Why do we have to out up with all this separation when false couples obviously aren't being prevented from getting their visas. I just pray that those that are not bonifide marriages end up back home with a lifetime ban.

I only had one conversation with him and that was enough to raise my antennae that something was not quite right with him and I see my intuition was correct. He got a CR1 visa and in Nigeria, those almost always go into AP, especially when there is a big age difference as in he and his wife's case. This makes me even more angrier. Only 3 months? Be patient - that's probably what your OB/Gyn will say. I'd give it at least a year before considering consulting a fertility doc. In the meantime, you both can read up on all that you two can do on your own to increase your chances.

you can start with ovulation prediction kits which are sold over the counter, but you are right that you should give it at least a year before you even start to worry. I work in labor and delivery and have seen many couples that have taken longer to conceive and have absolutely nothing wrong. Good luck!

I'm at about the same point as you, and we've been very brave and set a date for our wedding, Feb 16th, 2008. If we don't get our visa before that, we'll have a "rain" date in April sometime, and hope for the best. This may cause all our foreign travellers lots of pain (changing plane tickets, etc) but fortunately for us our wedding venue is allowing us a sliding date. I'm sure we'll know by January at least if we'll have the interview date by the date of our wedding (depending on what stage of the process we're at by that point). So setting a wedding date in February isn't an impossibility, you'll just have to have some flexibility if it doesn't work out, and keep an eye on your I-129F progress to see what adjustments you'll have to make... Good luck!!

hi guys,

im writing this here because most of my friends and family dont know that adriano is not in italy legally...

...

Hey Susie,
You know, actually one of my best friends here in NY is illegal. She came here legally but through all the red tape of trying to get a green card, is still without one after living in NY for almost a decade. I just wanted to say, sometimes these things happen, and not all people are going to make negative assumptions about illegal immigrants b/c the media would like us to.
The only advice I can give at the moment is try not to jump to the worst conclusions. I'm sure that's easier said than done, but right now you don't know what's going on with him, and there is really no point in giving yourself an ulcer thinking of all the worst things it could be. Just try to be patient until you hear from him.
Rae

Hi Susie-

Your post really got to my heartstrings... I can't say I know what you feel, but I know the fear that your loved one is in trouble, and I feel for you. Stay strong- he needs that from you right now. Is there anyone in his life there in Italy that you can contact to find out what's going on? I'm sure you've already thought of that... Maybe call his place of work? I suppose- that is if you speak italian... Good luck to you. I wish I had some good advice for you. I know it's hard, but try to stay positive- our minds always go to the worst place when we're worried... Try to stay strong, and wait it out. He'll call you when he can, and hopefully then you'll know the situation and things won't be all that bad. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
