Can you do a backround check on him?

I know here in the States you can, I did a long time ago on my daughter's father. He committed a crime also but I never really beleived his side of the story. I wanted to find out for myself.

Good Luck, and what a great sister you are! good.gif

My husband's case is complete at the embassy.

He is to report to the embassy on December 2nd or 4th. I was so excited I can't remember now. I only remember that he will be here before Christmas. What a wonderful Christmas present.

Can someone pinch me? It is just too good to be true!

United KingdomK-1 visa- Did your US citizen come to the interview?
My fiance is the UK citizen, and his interview is scheduled for 2/20/08. His package from the Embassy tells him not to bring anyone else with him. I've heard several cases where the US citizen comes along, although usually just waits in the waiting area. Did anyone bring their US citizen with them and have a problem where the US citizen couldn't get into the Embassy?

It's definitely 12 months. Bruce lived in Germany for 10 months and Russia for 11 months and he didn't need a police certificate for either.

That sounds right. for the UK that is...

Yep -- sorry, should have been clearer that this is the case for London. blush.gif Sorry to hear about your issues with Stockholm...not fair at all! mad.gif

I lived in Germany for about 11 months after age 16 and was asked for a certificate. :-( However, that was at the end of a 2 1/2 year period so
it might have been close enough for them to ask anyway.

If you want to be sure you could contact the Embassy asking them to confirm that you won't need them or you could apply for the certificates just in case you need them.
It took 3 weeks for me from finding out I needed Germany certificate to getting the translation returned.
