Good evening ladies...

Tierra met Louis when I did. When Louis would come to my apartment and hang out we spent the evenings talking but we made sure Tierra was alseep before he came over. We would sit on the balcony for hours! Then a few weeks later we all started hanging out together. She LOVES Louis. Actually said more than me .. but only cause "I am old and Louis is new"... Tierra had never met a boyfriend of mine before. I was lucky and things fell into place with Louis. Louis also took being in her life very seriously. He knew if he was going to hang with both of us he better be committed.

Tierra's father didnt want me to take her to St Lucia either.. but the judge busted him and realized his jealousy. She said it would be a wonderful experience for Tierra and she new I wasn't trying to steal her from him... mind you Tierra wasn't having any visitation with him at the time and he never paid me a dime. (I can actually count the $ he has given me on my fingers).

.... my experience

Thanks girl..isn't it funny how thos daddy's can pop in and out when its convenient..the nerve to object to babygirl going to St Lucia when u ain't even contributed for her trip to the dentist!!!!!!!!!

I have a younger daughter too.. she is like a firecracker..She NEVER meets a stranger and gets along w/ EVERYBODY.. I too thought it a good idea only to introduce my girls to men that would be for the most part long term fixtures in their lives..

Oh this last time he had the nerve to call my best friend and question her about Louis... He told her ... "I know Catherine leaves her with the NATIVES and goes out with Louis"!!!! LOL .. I am thinking... THE NATIVES???? He is crazy!!
He is worse than any child! Jealousy is a B*%#$!

Man, i hear this all the time...bout the father causing all these issues after he wasn't even really around. I told my youneger sis who's due this month to NOT let the father put his name on the BC. You think thats a good idea? The boy is borderline trife so I am trying to set her up best way I can. Her baby is taking HER name, not the fathers and if she want child support I told her to just have him do a DNA test, but as far as the BC....keep his name off of it.

You know I dont know what the "right advice" would be on that one but it would have made my life a whole lot easier. Course I would have done exactly how I wanted if my life wasn't being threatened! Man I thank Him every day for Louis!!!

I love Rick's Cafe and there's fish place let me see if I can find the name....I don't do much I Negril...when I want to get away that's where I go...it's quiet...to tell you the truth, I've met more people from other countries in Negril than any other tourist spots in Jamaica...good food, good drinks and great conversations

Tre, do you know how to you the text message to digicel on your computer? I would love to be able to send text via computer rather than cell phone.

Also I found my wedding dress at Davidson Bridal, but I had them to cut it off at the top of my kness, because I was getting married in Jamaica and I wanted to show my leggs. AS they say, if you have assest show them. He loved the the dress. At first everyone was like why don't you want a long white dress, I was like, I wanted him to see everything he was getting on his wedding day. My dress was a very pale yellow and fit evey curve I had, It was beautiful. Our wedding day was so much fun. We both teased each other on our wedding day about what we both was bringing to the table as far as our assest. When the preacher said does anyone object to this marriage we both looked out of the church door. Everyone was laughing. I play it over in my mind everyday, so I don't get so lonely without him. AT times like this I want to shout from the mountain top " I love my Jamaica Husband"
Be Bless
Roxcie

I send text messages all the time to Louis through the digicel website. I go to www.digicelstlucia.com so I assume you would just go to www.digiceljamaica.com?? I also had a digicel phone so I still use that one to log in. I would register your man's cell # and send texts that way. It would be like he was getting a text from himself but hey - it works! :-) I think they allow you 30 texts a month or something like that.

Ok I just went to www.digiceljamaica.com and there is an option right on the home page that says "send a text from your PC". Register with his number and go ahead!

Hope that helps.

My husband will listen to just about anything but Staind. He says I give him a headache when I play Staind in the car.

i LOVE STAIND!!!

Quana a who name so?

its a rock band.. not like heavy metal or anything, but a tad bit of hollering at times LOL

have u heard of a song called "its been awhile"
"its been awhile, but I can still remember just the way u taste!!!"

very cool lyrics, kind of dark mood songs, but i like them..

It's my I'm dragging my butt into work and need to wake up music. I love them as well.

Limp Bizkit and Creed also.. I hated when Creed broke up (frown)

Any carribean artist that you play at the wedding? My sister said Bres Hamond I think i mispelled it

Beres Hammond has some nice romantic songs. I like him.
I am bad with remembering specific songs but I am sure you could Google him and get a good sample.

offtopic45vn.gif Yardies.

What do you think are some names of songs or artist with good wedding songs?

I'm into a little bit of all type of songs: country, R&B, etc. I like these: At last (Etta James ) and a few country songs like You Had Me From Hello (Kenny Chesney). When I told Dwayne what I was thinking and played a couple over the phone he paused a very very long time and said is that what you want babe?

I know he wants to hear something romantic with a raggae flair but I don't know any for a wedding.

Wakey

Ok I am in Love with Jack Johnson at the moment. For all the moms .. he did the soundtrack for the curios george movie. Well he has a new album.. "Sleep through the static" and there is a a song called "Angel" and it is so nice. Short too! I am thinking about it because Louis says he can't dance, so it is short and sweet.

Good evenin' everyone. I got a chance to talk to Louis for a minute or 2... I think he is "letting loose"!!

He said they only asked him for the "official stuff" like the DS this and that.. then made him raise his right hand and swear...blah blah. Didn't ask him for ANY proof of relationship. Then he was told "congratulations you have a 6 month visa".... It was a female co... I know she couldn't resist the smile and he also said he was "wearing his sweet smelling rasta oil"... rofl.gif

me too! We talked for 2 hours yesterday just going through the binder and papers (for the millionth time). He was so afraid he was going to come across like and a#$. I told him not to worry and if he fumbled or got confused just to explain he was nervous and the truth would shine through. I let him know that when I was starting this and going through paperwork I felt very overwhelmed sometimes. I told him to explain he works at a TV station and paperwork is not something he deals with. I am sure he was fine. He s polite and charming.. and have you seen his smile??? LOL Who can resist his sincere smile???!!!!

I will get all the details asap!

Good Afternoon everyone!
I guess I will stop lurking and post something. I just don't have much to say or add.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend.

It is pretty slow on this thread today so did the weekend start early for some? We should be closing our office in about an hour so I will be off to a slightly early start myself.

Tonight I need to hit the liquor store, grocery store, get home and pack and get ready to take off tomorrow morning for Northern Minnesota to a friend's cabin. It should be a fun weekend of hanging with friends, fishing, eating and drinking. I can't wait to have my future husband here to see all that! Perhaps by Labor Day weekend????

Have a good weekend! star_smile.gif

Wow.. sounds like ya'll are in for a great weekend. Don't u love imagining what those kinds of times will be like w/ your fiance/husband there w/ you.. even something as simple as going to the grocery store..

Have a good one..

Happy Friday all! I am always thinking about what Louis will think of this or that - no matter where I am! He is going to LOVE the grocery store .. Whole Foods will be like heaven to him! LOL

BTW Louis made it through his medical - will have the results on Monday. He said he had to get naked and the Dr. "played with his balls"! Oh Poor Louis, what people do for Love.

Oh and Jonesie.. he is going to walk down to the fish fry this evening! good.gif

He landed safely, got to the guesthouse and scheduled a taxi for 6:30am for the Medical.....

Ah, food is easy -

Cheffettes - fast food, decent quality
In Quayside Center there is a fish restaurant in the middle of the parking lot - good, inexpensive.

St. Lawrence Gap area - Ship Inn is good, and there is a street vendor in the Gap at night with great burgers and fish and macaroni pie = The Gap is where the clubs are, too

Bean and Bagel = located in downtown Bridgetown, fast and good -

He is picky! LOL and totally Rasta.. vegetarian only.
Oh and he doesnt go to clubs.. I WOULD! LOL but he doesnt like crowds and clubs. His fave thing on a saturday would be to sit at home watch a good movie and drink some warm Guiness! ewww! haha. I love my Louis!

Don't even get me started with catching bits and pieces of my words. Ok, example we are working hard to set a wedding date now...we BOTH sat down and came up with 6/8/08 or 6/14/08. Ken said he preferred 6/8/08..."It's a Sunday, bless-ed day... ray-tay-tay!" So the other day he was talking to his Aunt in the Bronx and told her to hold the 14th!!!!! blink.gif blink.gif wacko.gif

When I said ..."No, WE decided on th 8th 'Sunday...Blessed day'...yatayatayata...he was like "Oh, but yuh never really confirmed that date so I thought you were sticking with the 14th!" wacko.gif

I had to ask him...'So what were you expecting a wedding invitation to your own wedding!?" laughing.gif laughing.gif

Then he was talking to his brother on the phone in JA yesterday and was like "Yeah...we a get married pon deh 14th!!!!" blink.gif headbonk.gif Then looked at me and started laughing! "A joke....mi yute ah deh 7th we a git married!"

He was DEAD SERIOUS!!!!

Whatever!! I'll just have to drag his ### to the church on the right day laughing.gif

The 16 days were heaven! I love my Louis so much. My daughter and I had a great time. In fact when we were leaving I think my daughter may have made a tear fall from Louis' eyes! She wanted to stay with him so she could take care of him until he could fly to Maine! :-)

Louis flies to Barbados tomorrow, goes for his medical on Friday morning and then INTERVIEW ON TUESDAY!!! I am excited, nervous anxious and everything else. My fellow Lucian lover (Luciansgirl) is going through a tough time right now. Her fiance was not given his visa (not flat out denied but rather confusing) after his interview this past Tuesday.

The CO told her SO there was a lack of proof of relationship...so I have been making sure Louis has as much as possible.

Hundreds of $$ of phone card bills/records
E-mails
pictures
wedding bands and an e-mail from my mom to louis explaining where they came from (her mother and late husband) and how she hopes they will make us as happy as they made her and how she can't wait for a son-in-law. (BTW - she has met Louis)
There is also a letter from a mutual US friend living in SLU explaining how we met and how she introduced us and stayed with her during my last visit.
Letters my daughter and I wrote to Louis/including pictures my daughter drew of all 3 of us **Very cute*** LOL

I also included a letter as to why I am not with him. I had planned the trip down in April thinking it would be 1/2 way through the process and he got interview date while I was there. Also it was during daughter's spring break and don't want to pull her out of school while testing for the next grade level.... etc. I think it is a pretty good explaination.

Of course Louis has a binder with all the paperwork, forms etc.
I am just concerned about this relationship proof. I guess I do have the fact I was initially in St Lucia for 6 months.

Anyhow - sorry about the long story - the short story is I need all the prayers, luck and blessings I can get!

Thanks EVERYONE!!!!!

Just found out there's a Jamaican Restaurant opening soon across the street from my house. It's called "Irie Cafe" I'm so excited kicking.gif I hope the foods good..... Ray asked me if I called and put in a request to have it near my house. laughing.gif

We actually have quite a few Jamaican's here in Maine ... if you can beleive it!
A couple nice restaurants as well. I wish I could find a nice Ital place... maybe Louis and I should open one! Hmmmm! biggrin.gif

My dad cooks the best food, when he lived in Maine he had a farm and the migrant workers that were from the Caribbean they would stay with him. Called him the "white Jamaican" LOL ... he used to tell them all to stay away from me... Everyone knew I was "Tom's daughter" and they would run in the other direction! tongue.gif

I would love to come and get some lobster from there and make curry lobster. Yummmmm

We have quite a bit of Italian places, but the caribbean places are either nasty or too far. I hope the one works out.

OH WOW!! Never had curry Lobster! Now I have to have that NOW!!!!
Talking to my dad now! haha! Said he knows how!

Just ordered my tax transcipts and was able to get 2007 as well. Now, weh di rass is my NOA2.

Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring it! IT HAS TO COME SOON!!!!!!!

Cat, I love that pic of your daughter, she is beautiful. Her hair looks just like a friend of mine's. She uses aussie products in her hair. It gives her sheen, curl and body and makes it easy to manage.

Ditto! She really is beautiful. I love the pics of her in that black and white photo Irie.

Aww thanks! That was in St Lucia and she had a scratch on her nose... as usual! :-)

She just got out of the shower LOL so her hair is still wet. She has good days and bad days. haha! As long as I put the "curls rock" in it and let it dry by itself it looks gorgeous! I used to use the Aussie stuff on my bleached hair... I should try it.
Wait till we go to St Lucia.. 1 day and she will be toasty brown. I am so jealous! lucky lucky girl... and her eyes stayed blue!
I dread 16! ohmy.gif

Oh and she hides horns under the curls!! devil.gif

Good morning Everyone! Happy Thursday!

Congrats to you again Gill and I know you will get that apartment. You are truly blessed.

I have been getting everything ready for my trip to St Lucia in a few weeks. Making sure I have all Louis' paperwork and the notorized stuff etc. I am getting so anxious and nervous. If I am lucky we will get an interview while I am there.

Today is my daughter's 6th birthday. I will have to take a nice pic for my signature. So I can show her off. :-)

Have a nice day all! SPRING IS HERE!! Even if it doesn't look like it where I am....

I have a randomn hair question. My daughter has the most beautiful curls. I know the basics of how to care for her hair but would love any input you fabulous woman have for me! Any great products that I should try out?

My daughter probably has the same hair. Lately I have been just using a moisture shampoo and conditioner... or even just cond if her hair isnt dirty and then a wide come with TIGI "Curls Rock"... Got it at Rire Aid or CVS. It is a leave in moisterizer and really looks great without giving her that crunchy wet look. And grease is too heavy. I only use if I put in braids or piggies to keep the flyaways tame...
In the past I have also used Bumble & Bumble for curly hair but that is $$ and only get that when I get a bonus! LOL

Hope that helps!

I fell like a total airhead but I have to ask for help on the I-134 form.

I fill out the top of the form, my name, address, age, where I was born etc...

Now when it says "This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person":...... Is that Louis?
And then if that is where I put Louis info then Relationship to sponsor is Fiance... right.

I am sure this is obvious but I just dont understand the wording and I want to be sure I do it correctly. I looked in the guides etc but I seem to be the only one with issues...

Thanks again for everyones help!

I have a crazy question: Would you be friends with someone who is into alternative sex lifestyles like swinging or S&M, etc??

It's really none of my business but I'm wondering if you treat or view them differently?

How yuh find out?!?!

Seriously though...I think it would all depend on the person and what they were doing. If it was my best friend and I found out they were swinging...well that wouldn't work for me from a religious standpoint of having sex with numerous partners. Our values would be totally different most likely so it wouldn't make for the best friendship.

Now if it was my best friend and she was all into kinky stuff with her husband...well to each their own and as long as they are both happy and no one is getting hurt, who am I to say anything?

As long as what you are doing isn't immoral or illegal...well have fun if that is what you are into.

I found out about co-workers at a recent company get together... people drink too much and start talking!! LOL

Good morning Everyone. it took me 15 minutes to read all the posts from last night! :-)
It is finally sunny here ...COLD .... but sunny. The sun makes me happy. All the snow and grey skies are so depressing.
I cannot wait until April and 2 glorious weeks in St Lucia.

I have a little question...
How long after my man arrives and we get married would it be possible to leave the country?
My boss offered to pay for our Honeymoon!!! And I think we will have to stay in the US which is fine but oh the possibilities if we can leave the country!!! The trip would be my 10 year at the job gift!!!

I am thinking about Big Sur and driving the Pacific coast highway if we stay in the US. I have never been to CA and always wanted to see Big Sur ... and it turns out the mountains are called the Santa Lucia mountains... its a sign!! :-)

Thanks all!
Cat

That's so nice of your boss. The Big Sur sounds nice.

yeah! I was pretty excited! The company I work for represents alot of European Hotels so I would love to bring Louis to Italy but I am not sure how soon it will be possible to leave the US??!!

He must receive either his AP or his green card for you to travel outside the US. I'd say 2-3 month minimum wait after you marry and apply for AOS.

Oh! Thanks for the reply... we could wait that long I suppose, now I have all these possibilities in my head!!
I need opinions now - where would everyone here bring their man if they could???

:-)
Cat

do u know how much money you guys will be working with??

He didnt give me a limit. You can see the hotels my company works with ... www.jdbhotels.com
If I chose one of those place we would probably get a free stay but I dont know... I think I want to go somewher neither of us have ever been.
I think as long as I keep it reasonable my boss will be cool with it. I mean my boss is my age and he is the owner of the company's son. He doesnt really have anyone to answer too. LOL

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I just finished shoveling about 5 inches of snow dry.gif . I am so over it!

If anyone has a general knowledge of UK immigration please p.m. me. I'll be out for most of the day and will get back to you later today.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Michele

Hey Michele I understand about the snow we should be getting more on Sunday. The news said we had 22 days of snow in Feb. It would be nice to see a blade of grass. Hubby says winter is the worst season of all laughing.gif

Wow,

It's going to be a SUNNY 60 degrees in Washington DC on Monday. I'll send some your way.

Whoops I mean Monday. Today its rainy and then 3 more inches on Monday.

We had another few inches of snow Friday night which means we have almost hit the 100 inch mark for this winter!!! I need Spring!! Hopefully the Spring and Summer this year will be wonderful and it will make up for this winter!!
I remember being in DC and bragging to all my friends about how great the weather was! Until it rained once for the ENTIRE month of November! LOL!!
