To alleviate the disappointment of STILL not getting an NOA2, and hearing different/incorrect information every time I contact anyone who works for the government, I just booked a trip to Jamaica for next month! kicking.gif

I just got an e-mail from CRIS...

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

The weird part is we already got the e-mail saying Welcome Letter Sent... then another saying Green Card Ordered.... isnt this one a little late?

Good News anyway! biggrin.gif

She is crying i fount the website... i feel sooooo bad cause she is one of those girls that have low self esteem but try to act like she is the best thing since sliced bread to mask personal issues. she always got to be center of attention, i just got use to her ways but to other ppl she gets on they nerves... anyways this is why i dont take pics at the club with those websites like 7daysand7nights cause thats where they got the pic from and i know the girls she went out with and there not cute girls either but they dont act all loud and try to be center of attention thats why you dont see their pics on the website... uggh i feel bad for her she is still my friend...

Can we all go on it and vote her "not ugly"?

Okay ppl i have a situation my cuzzo just called me saying that one her friends told her that she seen my friend on this website for ugly ppl with a donkey under her pic... she told me she is trying to get the website for me, my thing is now i gotta tell my friend about this and i dont want to because this makes me feel uncomfortable...

OMG! That is terrible. Maybe there is a way to "report the image" when you get the website and just have it taken off without your friend knowing. Is she sensitive? Is she really all the bad looking... I don't like the word "ugly"... it is so mean.
Maybe someone did it to get back at something, or just doesn't like her.

Good Morning all...

I remember when my mom bought me Thriller! I was SO EXCITED I ran 4 blocks down the street to show my best friend who was a crossing guard (The kids got to be volunteer crossing guards in elementary school) I thought he was so HOT! 20 something years ago, I look back now and never thought of him as black or white.. or anything. I just remember I totally liked to dance to his music! My girlfriends and I thinking he was a "babe".. LOL ... Now I see my daughter doing the same thing for guy singers now! Full Circle!

I am trying to get my friend to buy a house down there. This is her 12th year teaching in DC Publc schools. She makes some decent money (highest paid district in the country) and she needs to stop renting in her HORRRRRIBLE complex and buy a nice big house so me and my fam can come down!! LOL .... I love DC, so much to do, so many cultures... LOVE IT!!! My 1st apartment I ever had was in DC...
My stupid company doesnt pay well (for living in the area anyway) so we need to find Louis a career and come on back down. He liked it there as well. Nice to see people that resemble himself and not just stares from all the crazy white people up here!! LOL
Ohhhh ... now I am planning in my head again.

Really??? Most teachers I know teach in DC teach in MD or VA because they pay more money...that's interesting.

IrieCat - If you work from Alexandria - Fairfax (not Alexandria City) has one of the best school districts. Plus it's in the surburbs so housing is cheaper than the city.

Good luck.

I think my friend is making close to 60k this year! I think maybe if you teach in Fairfax or some districts you may get paid more. Maybe its an average thing. Anyway - I sure would like to make that much and get my summers off! She doesnt even have a class anymore - she is a special english teacher.

If I come back down I want to be IN DC. I lived in Alexandria and I lived in Laurel, MD and I lived in DC. I gotta be in the city. :-) Maybe I will win powerball and get a nice townhouse on the hill! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I dont know what a Zune is?

I have an hour left ... it is dragging. I am finding other things to do... like bugging Louis! hahaha

I have over 2 hours to go... but that's the price I pay to sleep in until 8am.

Oh! Speaking of mp3 players, the Sansa Clip is WAAAAY cheaper than the iPods & Zunes. I bought one several months ago for like $25 that held 2gb of music and also played radio stations. It is smaller than a flip phone and clips on to your pocket or anything.

I just checked... my daughter has a ZEN by creative.. same maker as my webcam. If that ZEN can make it through 4 months in a 7 year olds backpac, bus rides, and a million sticky fingers... it must be pretty good!

i'll have to check that one out. my son wants one too..and i'm not spending a lot of money on it. last year i got him an ipod for his b-day and someone at school stole it...i was so mad. note to self: never spend more than 50 bucks on anything portable for kids

I seriously thought she would lose this instantaniously! But she ihas done pretty well. I guess since she spent her own money on it... it is worth more to her!

Oh, you know my daughter got a little pink mp3 player (she calls it her ipod) and it holds videos, pictures, songs... books all kinds of stuff. I was only $40! She bought it with her birthday money and loves the thing! It came in other colors too.... I should see what the name of it is.

Last year I took Louis and all the "older" ladies were gawking... one asked me if she could touch his hair! I said "it's not my hair" ... So then she says "tak our pic"... her friend used MY CAMERA!! I've gone natural before, I'm just tired of keeping up with a relaxer. I wished I had never put one in the first place. My sister and I our hair is almost straight, it's just too much to manage, so we put a relaxer in to tame it. Without the relaxer we would walk around looking like ChakaKhan. I've also had locs before, which I had to completely cut off to boy short, wid my big old head, it was cute though for a moment...but mi head look like one flat dumplin, so mi just grow it out which was very fast and permed it again. I know crazy.

That is so funny! I was just telling Tierra yesterday I love her "ChakaKhan hair"... I was singing that song..... she thought I was nuts! I WANT CHAKAKHAN HAIR!

Irie; back in the day when I wore my hair like that people made gave me crazy looks, not it's the in thing.

Tierra doesn't much like it either. But she has the most soft wonderful curls. I really hope she grows into liking them. I think at this point she wants what all the other little girls have.. STRAIGHT hair. She is pretty much the only "brown girl" in her school. One of the volunteer moms has curly hair like her and Tierra just loves her... seeing someone else with her hair makes her happy.

Now Irie is the girls hair just big and curly or are you one of those moms that doesn't know how to style it. I can't remember her age (sorry) but what about some pony tails or maybe some cute stylish corn rows with beds to tame it? little?

She was upset that one of her little girlfriends was teasing her about her jiggley thighs! I was like well hunny ... you have great thighs and they are NEVER gonna be scrawny, so you have to love them too! Even her dad has some biggish thighs... no skinnies on either side of her family! :-)

One of the volunteer moms has curly hair like her and Tierra just loves her... seeing someone else with her hair makes her happy.

offtopic45vn.gif who on here went natural from relaxer to perm and how long did it take?

Shemmy you've seen my hair, I'm wondering if I should just cut it all off again or try grow out the rest of the perm with the length I have now.

I would let it grow out for 6-8 months then cut off the perm..which won't be much. What made you decide to go natural?

O.k. so I guess I'm the only over protective mom on the board today... Look at my yardies just singling me out the only mom that wouldn’t let her child fly alone. It just scares me is all my baby in the airport all alone with dem strangers I just couldn’t do it...

When I took him to JA n Feb I was all with him I was about to make him hold my hand but I didn’t want to embarrass him in front of his god brother so I let him be.

I feel the same way as you D - that's why I had to put this out there, because I know sensibly, I'm just being emotional. That's what A was telling me last night too - tons of kids younger that Jr do it every day.

My mom still cries when I go anywhere, and I am 34!! LOL She even cried when Louis, Tierra and I drove to DC! haha...poor mama

Dang no she didn't!!! U and your momma must really be close.

We are close - but she worries. I like to "get up and move" sometimes. I think she is worried I wont come back. When I moved to DC.. I gave her a weeks notice and was gone for 10 years! Then when I moved to SLU I didnt plan on coming back! But my mom does so much for me.. and my family.. couldnt live without her!

I would look into it - I know that Air JA has a program where they will escort the child, even through the immigration -

Found the link:

http://airjamaica.com/minors.aspx

It's a $100 fee to the US - I would check Jet Blue too - As long as he was on a direct flight, I would think he would be okay.

Thanks - I checked AJ before about it. I'm thinking it would be best for him to fly that because it's mostly Jamaicans on the plane so he would be more in his comfort zone. But Jetblue has Directv on each seat - lol!

T LOVES JetBlue and those TVs. She really thinks she is the ish when she flies alone.

offtopic45vn.gif I need some opinions - Anthony and I have been discussing Jr flying here (WHEN he ever gets that visa). I was planning on going down to get him, but A says that he can/will fly here by himself - said it makes no sense in spending that extra money (which we don't really have) for my ticket. He is 11 so definitely not a baby, but has never flown before - let alone left Jamaica.

And of course on the Today show this morning there was a story about Continential Airlines sending an 8 year old and a 10 year old on the wrong flight - two separate incidences.

Tierra flys by herself all the time. In fact she goes to her father's next week by herself. Only direct flights.... She even flew from ST Lucia to Florida by herself. She does fine... I am nervous... but she is fine.

I am so frigging pissed, would I see her LOBSTER TAILS or her STEAK and throw it out???? #######?????

She did that mess on purpose! She would be coughing up the $$ to buy more...simple as that. Doesn't she know ackee is a delicacy...shoot is almost as expensive as caviar. OOOOO that would have my temper BOILLLLLIIIINNNNGGGG!!!!

Jawi, calm down sis, it's only 8:10 in Jamaica...you're going to make yourself crazy, too bad I'm not there to keep you company.

Shemmy, let me know if you're going to attend the Pretty in Pink party at ATI, I believe it's August 7th -- looks like we'll be in Negril from August 4th for a wedding.

Okay...we arrive onthe 7th so we'll link up if you're still there. I believe there's a white party too that night. I'm confused by all the parties wacko.gif Dream (former RTI, I believe) and ATI parties.

Jawi - I am praying you will be pain free soon. I'm sure A will have no problems at the Embassy. I keep thinking about those wires in your neck last December. Are they still there?

Oh Shemmy! How cute! I thought I told you guys about that machine. The wires are removable...they only stick on with little adhesive patches to stimulate bone growth. It doesn't hurt at all. Yes, I still have it...I need to start wearing it again...anything to aid in my healing.

I guess I'm worried a little because there have been no k1s to do the interview without their SO being there too. I included a note as to why I couldn't be there...but now I think I should have gotten the doctor to write one. A said that it will be fine...he will just tell them about all the surgeries and what I have been dealing with.

I know its not the same as Jamaica, but Louis went by himself! No problems at all! Everything will be fine. :-)
