I like reading you say..mi husband good.gif

i like saying it!!!

what do ur child/children call ur SO, what will his kids call u??

we talked about this when we first got serious and we both agreed we didn't want anything too formal so we agreed the first name would be fine.. the judge that officiated our ceremony talked w/ us at length b4 marrying us and that was one of the topics.. he said that the children if they are not callling him daddy YET (he insisted they would eventually, which ive seen kids do, but i don't think mine will)
then they should call him mr roger or mr g.. he says it is respectful and i woudn't want mykids to call me myfirst name.. HECK NO!!!

i enjoyed the judge's talk, but we still have them call him roger, i could be mama quana? but that still sound silly.. we just like the informal way. i think he get respect from his actions not his name blush.gif ???

Tierra just calls Louis... Louis. MR. Louis would make me laugh! I know its respectful, but I must say it isnt much of a Yankee thing. It sounds too formal and Tierra and Louis are family!! I think eventually she MAY call him Dad, but she is so in love with her own daddy right now it isnt going to happen right away. Maybe when she is older and realizes he is an A$$!!!! LOL

if ur spouse is job hunting would u accept the FIRST job offer if it was a night job??

roger and i have agreed that we dont' want to be apart odd hours like that..but we would try and be flexible given the outlook on employment right now..

would u keep looking and hope to find something else or snatch it up??

Actually Louis is hoping to get a night job. My mom always had one growing up and she loved it. He would be able sleep during the day while I work and we could spend the evenings together. We would still have 2 nights a week for us.
He could hang with Tierra when she gets home from school and make the night shift differential!

Irie - those pics were not at my heaviest - those were on the way up there, lol -

I did a bunch of stuff - Weight watchers, slimfast, fad diets, etc.... - honestly, what worked the most was cutting back on sweets / portion control / healthier eating and adding exercise -

The walking and the heat in St LUcia helped. I have no gym around my house so I have to get motovated to walk. In St LUcia - there was no choice. I went to my friend's house almost every day and you had to hike up her driveway AND then a million steps up to her door! On top of that I was drinking soooooo much water.

Hey everyone.. just catching up.

I am a big girl, not happy with it, trying to change... NEVER been thin! My boobs are way to small for a fat chick! LOL When I was in St Lucia the pounds dropped off... Winter in Maine.. back again! I need to move back to go on my Lucian diet.

Louis always wears Rasta colors somewhere when we go out. My mom bought him a really nice pair of sneakers... he likes to wear those. He has t-shirts, and a nice Lion of Judah sweatshirt. My fave is the military jacket with pins, patches etc on it. He looks hot in that. He likes to represent but not to loudly.
My car.... a bunch of stickers, BOB, St LUcia. Have a flag in the window and my plates say RSTAFARI. We have NEVER (knock on wood) been pulled over. But my father swears we will eventually. I would find it amusing if we were - nothing to hide! AT ALL!

Sus... your before pics... you dont look that big. But you look great now! Did you say how you lost the weight? I missed it.

My friend that was with me in Jamaica when I met my husband, loves to tell the story on how I met my husband...and her role in it..I mean everyone she meets must know my story. Then I have other friends that thinks my story is a real live fairy tale...like a Stella. Athough, the story doesn't have many similarities.

Are you ever called the Stella by your friends?

My friend that introduced me to Louis takes full resposibility! :-)
I think my friends just think its "cool" that Louis is from St Lucia.. but they are never surprised. They all know me too well. At first some were worried about he is just using me for the GC.. but the second they met him .. no more thoughts of that.

When I picked up Tierra from the airport and was at the ticket counter getting a gate pass... we were chatting about ticket prices to St Lucia. Louis was next to me and I said "my husband is from there and we want to go back for a visit"... she looked at him and looked at me and said "Wow, St Lucia... you are lucky!".

HAHA.. i know thats right irie!!

buju will be GREAT.. he has such energy.. i love watching him.. i hope it doesn't rain for ya'll, 1st year married, how sweet..1 down.. 100 to go

okay tierra got a minute b4 she have to worry bout books and teachers dirty looks.. i wish my mama could help w/ clothes.. but my youngest sister dropped her 4 kids off and is trying to (i hope) get her life together, we'll see.. i know my mama is gonna need help but i am barely able to get mine the way i want.. i will be able to help more next mnth..

I have seen Buju a couple times in DC. Loved him! The show isnt until 9/17 but I asked my mom to watch T already and so its set. YAY!

I really appreciate everything my mom does for me. She is a lifesaver! I was always spoiled.. I have 1 older (by 6 years) brother. He has 2 kids, one in college and 1 in HS. But I was always the spoiled one and now Tierra is. I stay close to my mom, my brother usually sticks to himself and his family.
My mom makes way less money than I do but she loves to spend what she can on Tierra. So I can usually count on her for school clothing, winter boots... stuff like that. I am very blessed!

What's going on this weekend, ladies?

I'm going to a "How to Date Holy" panel discussion at church tonight. This is part 2. I wasn't at part 1, but heard it was VERY interesting, so I'm going to be nosy.

Tomorrow is a focus on my car: oil change, state inspection, car wash & vacuum

(Did y'all notice me changing the subject so Ells doesn't feel ganged up on?)

Well, personally, I think it depends on what is going on in life, Ells. If you are sitting around and he's sleeping or watching TV or something and then decides he wants it at like 1 a.m. and you are getting up early......Well, all kinds of other scenarios. If the timing is off, it's off. You have to find a way for the timing to be fairly compatible. I don't agree with the give it up whenever he asks theory. It's a joint effort and the time has to be right for both. It takes some time to work that out at first in the adjustment process. You'll figure it out. Just hang in there.

As far as planning and him not wanting to........Plan something and just dont' tell him. Spring it on him like it was the last minute. You see where I am going with that?

Nat: Tonight from 6-7 I am supposed to be learning country line dancing. Tomorrow, I am hopefully having a tattoo, um, changed, and taking the daughter shopping for some intimate appareal. That should be a real joy....eye rolling all day I am sure. Sunday is softball and I think I am getting a new screen door installed.

I like your idea about you planning it and him not knowing! I do that... I get all nice and sexied up (LOL) and spring it on Louis and he LOVES it!

I see yall were talking about tats today...I have 5 tats...the last one was a tribute to Gregory and I...since I refuse to get a man's name tattooed on my body I had an infinity symbol drawn with the chinese character for snake and sheep in each ring. I was born in the year of the snake and he in the year of the sheep/ram. It's cute and is my favorite cause it means the most to me! star_smile.gif He has no tattoos and says he wants to get one, but I don't want him to because his skin is so chocolate and perfect. I told him to leave the tattoos up to me wink.gif I'm getting another one (my sis and I are getting matching ones)...the breast cancer ribbon w/ my mothers initials entwined in a vine...I saw the stencil online...its cool...

I like your tattoo style.. thats how I do things.. with the symbolism. I even have a lizard, infinity symbol and a chinese character myself! My mom and I went and got ones together on Mother's day.. when I was in my 20's.

Beautiful in Chinese on my back... my Art History teacher was from China and I had him to the character for Tierra.. I want to get that under the beautiful....
I large red and black sun on my back. I drew it.. .thought it was cool.
And I have a blue lotus on my upper arm.. I drew that one too. I am very into Buddhas, Indian Gods... like the symbolic meanings of the Lotus...

I have a rose and my name on right shoulder. Got that when I turned 18.

I have a smiling Daisy on my right ankle.

I have the Jamaican flag on my lower back.

I have a name under that flag which I am going this weekend to have covered with something like a vine or flames or something. It's small so no big deal.

See I just can't do names. I feel like it is a jynx. Kids or parents etc.. dead people.. thats ok.
So my Rasta/St Lucia tattoo will be for Louis. And if God forbid, we divorce... it will always have meaning.

While we're on the topic of sex, something just came to mind that hubby & I were discussing last night after I got home from school. He was feeling frisky & all I wanted to do was brush my teeth, start reading my book for class that we have to have 3 chapters read by next week & then go to bed. He asked when was the last time so I thought about it & said that it had been one week to the day exactly. (We had a busy weekend & too tired when we got home from everything.) He kept trying to work his charms until I finally said 'lef me!'. He asked what about tomorrow night & I said probably not because class goes even later & I'll be home even later & tired when I get home. So I said, "let's make a date for Friday night" & he tells me "no" & that it should just happen instead of us planning it. I told him that MANY people have to plan it due to busy schedules. So, how many of you have had to plan rendezvous??

Ells, I think we are alot alike! WHen it comes to having things our way etc...

Louis is ALWAYS in the mood and sometimes I am just not. He gets a little irritated with me sometimes but I just cannot get in the mood if I am stressed, the house is a mess, work to do... I really have to learn to relax and release sometimes. I am getting better at it. I even bought a homeopathic supplement that helps me relax and not worry too much - I just have to remember to take it! LOL He also doesnt understand that I cannot stay up to all hours every night. Someone has to get up at the a$$ crack of dawn to make lunches... get people ready for school and work and then get my work started. Just because I work at home does not mean I do nothing.. Not only am I working but I am also being a housewife at the same time.

I think "date night" is a great idea. Maybe more than just once a week though. Keep communicating with him.. there is always going to be some compromises that have to take place.

Tierra held my hand... maybe that eased the pain :-) . I also have a bunch of tattoos. Sometimes I think about other things that hurt more and how "this isnt so bad"...

Where I got mine done at......18 and older only!

Well, I went to a tattoo shop and I went to school with the guy so he let Tierra in. It was the middle of the day too... we were the only ones there.

What are your tattoos, Irie? I have 4, btw.

I have a lizard on my neck with 3 symbols inside ... infinity, libra & woman. That was my 1st at 18, it is very faded. I have other ideas for it now.
I have a turtle on my leg (Kame - the symbol for long life and fertility)
Beautiful in Chinese on my back... my Art History teacher was from China and I had him to the character for Tierra.. I want to get that under the beautiful....
I large red and black sun on my back. I drew it.. .thought it was cool.
And I have a blue lotus on my upper arm.. I drew that one too. I am very into Buddhas, Indian Gods... like the symbolic meanings of the Lotus...

On my to do list.. the outline of St Lucia with rasta colors filling it in. I cant do names so this would be another symbol of meaning for me
Birds on both my clavical bone area.. old sailor tat my Grandfather has
I would also like to get Ganesh (Indian Diety) incorporated into an upper arm sleeve where the Lotus is...

All this cost money so it will take a little time but I am itching for one soon. Hey maybe this weekend would be good for the St Lucia one... 1 year Anniversary!!

Rent "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere. Oliver Martinez and Diane Lane have a sex scene in a restaurant bathroom that is really good.

I have that DVD. I bought it from this video store that was closing, & had never heard about it. I was caught off guard when I realized which character in the movie was having the affair.

you NEVER did the beach either??? omg.. what did we do on these trips??? sightsee????????????

Well I have toured the house, car , the changing room at the falls and this deserted lane in between bushes but neva de wata. Umm I have to go back just to find out. Of course wid someone else though. I hear cuz the water makes you light he can pick you up and do all types of things. I always wanted to try standing up so I guess that would be my chance...

Hate to say it DaDa but you are boring....try these:

movie theater
DJ booth
Hot tub @ M'ville Ochi during the day
Pool @ the hotel (OS and regular)
OS in pool chair after tilting the umbrella for privacy (girl on the receiving end)
park bench
dark corner in a night club
driver's seat in a big SUV
restroom stall
balcony facing the walkway to the beach
pool chair while the staff cleaned the pool
under a waterfall
stopping an elevator between floors
under an empty stairwell
so much action that the mattress slides clean off the bed onto the floor and you keep going

man y'all have me talking too much...I mean all of this was a fabrication for my Stella story. blush.gif devil.gif innocent.gif

Dont forget at every stop light while you are driving, you can pause for the cause too! blush.gif

or a long dark stretch of highway! devil.gif

I hear you....

This doesnt have anything to do with sex... but I love to be different. When I was younger I had crazy hair.. nose peirced (before everyone else did) twice! started getting a couple tats.
So 2 years ago I really thought I was getting to mainstream... got my nosed peirced again, 5th tattoo and got me a grown up funky hair do... I was so happy! I have to be creative or I go crazy! I have recently been painting up a storm and I love it! I cannot get stuck in a rut.

I wanna get my nose pierced

Do it! It doesnt hurt... just like your ears, just takes a bit more care.
When I got it done when I was young I had 2 holes on 1 side. They use an ear peircing gun! Now there are stronger laws... This last time they used a peircing needle.. so I guess it did hurt a bit more than your ears.. but it was cleaner and healed faster.

What the hell are you talking about? Mine hurt like a #######!!!!! But, only for a second. I got that one lone tear out of my left eye. You are right, though. Very easy to take care of after. They used a needle on me.

This is been a tough one with us too. I have 1 daughter.. she is 7. She and Louis got along GREAT in SLU, she cried when he wasnt here... but now it is stressful sometimes cause they argue. She does not listen to him and he is always getting on her about everything. I tell her she needs to listen, I tell him to cut her some slack.. she is a spolied American girl....
My daughter is going to spend July with her dad and stepmom, I am grateful for the break but I am going to have to "reprogram" her when she gets back. Last time her father told her "Louis isnt your dad, you dont have to listen".. QUestioned her about everything! I think that led to the problems here. I tell her to respect her stepmom and listen and they have no issues on that end... Hopefully when she gets home this time she will behave.. I already had "discussions" with stepmom (she totally backs me up)...anyway fingers crossed...

Philly - good luck with your boys! I can relate, its tough!

Irie; I went through the same thing and this is what I said to my son ; WHO TAKES CARE OF YOU -- and that was it. He loves my husband, but his dad tried to put up a wall, which I quickly tore down. My husband is not is father, but he does take care of him when his father is not around. That was last August, we haven't had any problems since. My son don't even want me dealing with him anymore, because hubby is more fun to play with. I guess I can't play video games or cook like my husband.

I need to get Louis a book on parenting... without him getting offended! I try to tell him when T comes to him and says "look what I made!"... even if it is a mess... get a little excited. Make her feel special. He isnt so good at that. He also gets upset when I tell him he needs to "pick his battles". Things get a little better all the time... Both Louis and Tierra are STUBBORN!!! I think they are both 7 sometimes!! tongue_ss.gif
