Lol Quana dont worry about it being "tricky" as teachers, we want the babies to be smart and versatile with their language and dilect.. its gonna be okay watch... She gonna shock you when she uses really big words!

oh no.. mi a substitute teach lang time.. education is first on my list, thats why i make sure the schools they attend teaches them on the next grade level..

i just don't see the point in having "ea", "ee","ie",AND "ei" words ALL on the same test? blink.gif what about one family at a time or even one or two at a time?? yuh seemi??..

good.gif but so it go... we still ago bring home dat A..

Ahhhh I see your point... I have a good learning center game for that

yeah mon.. mi need help cuz right now we just go over and over and over everyday.. but she still gets confused "yield" vs "yeeld" or "yeald" when i just spelled "green" and "mean".. blink.gif blink.gif its hard when they are all on the same test..

You know there a couple Dr Suess books that are great for that... Green eggs and Ham is one. I dont know if she thinks she is to grown for that though. Tierra still likes it cause she can read the whole thing without help and fast (she has is memorized)!

I might have airfare today!!! kicking.gif

I stayed at El Greco a while back. A friend that works at 1/2 moon suggested it to me. I like that place. You can take an elevator down to street level and cross the street to Dr's Cave Beach...

El Greco is nice and it has a kitchen so you don't have to leave the premises if you don't want to.

Yeah, we had a 2 bedroom... and cooked everyday! And there is a pool... so you can do beach or pool. Free entrance to the beach too.

Last year she wore a dashiki dress to school... she thought she was HAWT SHYT! Kids laughed at her and she wont where it again. sad.gif
My mom told me different was good and I don't remember my friends making fun of me!!!

Tell Tierra to tell dem damn kids dey juss jealous dey can’t rock the t-shirt like her and that their dad bought it for her. I would say man but they too little..

I may be a little "cooky" different but I just tell Tierra that she doesn't have to be exactly like her friends. She has curly hair.. they all have straight... you know that kinds thing. I want her to embrace her differences... unique is OK!

That' good Irie...tell her to embrace her differences. My daugther is "weird" in a good way and very different than most kids. I love that about her.

Tierra is actually out in the driveway right now... singing! She thinks no one watches her..... but the neighbor stopped me in the store once to tell me how she loves to see Tierra having fun out there!

Weird is great! LOL My mom was always so proud of me for being weird! hahah

I almost wish Louis had a child before he met me... he would have a bit more experience with Tierra's behavior. I often wonder how the dynamics of this family will change when I have another child.

IS SHE SPOILED?

I must admit she is. Not so much by me, but we lived with my mom until I left for St Lucia. She is the princess of the family.
I am the "mean mom", the one that dishes out the punishments....

But there is a difference between the kids in Louis' fam growing up in St Lucia and Tierra growing up here in the US. She doesn't go without a whole lot. I do try to teach her lessons, and she can be a very compassionite kid.... she is loving and generous.

Louis is a "don't speak unless spoken to" type of guy when it comes to kids really. Tierra is not quiet! Its hard to explain I guess. I think he thinks all kids are like his sweet, quiet, shy little cousin. (she is 4 or 5)....

I understand what you have said 100% I think we really do have the same child. LOL.

i can totally see myself going in the direction of my kids vs our kids.. his kids are our kids but sometimes my actions say my kids are MY kids.. its so easy to do, but i have to watch it..

Its so weird, I know she is proud of him.. she loves telling people he is her stepdad.
I try to explain to him that she wants to have more fun times with him.. he can be a lame duck when it comes to kids stuff... smile.gif
Any attention, whether it be good or bad, is what she is looking for. He read a book with her last night and she was so happy.

she doesn't speak to him much, tells me good night as usual, but forgets to tell him too, and he is the one that picks her from school and it is offending him when she just get in the car and don't say nothing.. he mentioned it to me and i talked to her about it last night..
im crossing my fingers.. but like u say chiney. i know this too shall pass

Ditto Chiney.. thanks for the encouragement. Seems like when we get past one thing, another comes up. Tierra called Louis "him" the other day... "I don't want to do it in front of HIM" ...

Well we finally have an SSN# but after my investigation found they sent the original to the wrong address we live on a Lane not on an Ave. so God forbid someone got a hold of it. We are still waiting for the original to be re-issued but at least we now have the print out as he is in the system. They gave us a whole bunch of identity theft info and how to handle it if we are a victim but you know I am so pissed off at this. Just seems like it was drama from the GC POE paperwork mix up C to this I am, just praying that no one got a whole of it because that would really suck big balls! ranting33va.gif

Too bad about the runner... not letting her compete could devastate her, if its something she worked for her whole life. I think her parents had a tough decision when she was born, how do you chose which gender you should raise a child!!???

how are you feeling today?

Feeling much better! Thanks!
Only thing I can do is get up when the alarm goes off... no snooze! Just makes me more sleepy. I open the shades, curtains let the light in... Then get Tierra up and get going... I can't be lazy 1st thing because it will just make me tired. Oh and then I make coffee!! smile.gif

My mom spanked me once that I remember. I didnt get in trouble again until I was to big to get spanked and by that time my mom was in a different world...

When it comes to Tierra, I used to spank her but it never worked. I still get worked up once in a while and spank her butt but not much. I really try to talk to her and make her understand things. It doesn't always work either... I just try to get through each day without a headache. She can be a giant PITA and she knows it. I do beleive I yell at her too much, I need some more patience really. She is a tough one to discipline... usually taking her stuff away and now she is old enough to get grounded... that usually works too.. but nothing is permanent.

Mornin'...thanks for all the "get betters"... Ms Sheka, I feel for your kids. I can't seem to kick this cold!
I am taking some major vitamins, echinacea and using that neti pot! Sometimes I can breath and sometimes I can't. I can't hear either!

Hope everyone is doing well today!! smile.gif

There was a little bar on the side of the road in JA. On my way to the country I would stop (I wasnt driving) and get a shot of W&N... I would bring my own coke. That one drink would make me happy for hours! LOL

Just got some lemon, ginger and honey... Louis is cooking up some tea. And I got some Echinacea too...
Eucalyptus oil is burning and giving the neti pot another shot... I WILL FEEL BETTER...I WILL FEEL BETTER!!! wink.gif

You can get in DC. My dad loves the stuff and used to get it when he came to see me when I lived there.

I've had a bottle of Wray & Nephew in my kitchen since last January wacko.gif

I opened it and tried to make rum cream once headbonk.gif it was horrible blush.gif

Not quite sure what to do with it now... wish I could send you an open container laughing.gif

(((hugs)))

aw, thanks. I know I could get it at a liquor store... but I dont even know where there is one around here these days. In Maine you can by booze at the grocery store and 7-11... they just dont have a good selection. The only liquor store I go to is the one off the turrnpike in NH (tax free) when I am going to boston or something! LOL
