Still thinking about Ness (Finesse) & those babies.

I was kinda grumbly yesterday after work on my way to school cause our bus system is getting worse & worse with service cuts & fare increases. A bus that had room passed us up & the next bus didn't go all the way out to the avenues where I live so I had to wait for the next one that would (since the stupid first one passed us). Anyway, I board the bus (grumble grumble) & worry about being late to class. There's a woman with a stroller & a baby in her arms no more than 6 months old (maybe younger). The baby was a cutie but I still wasn't paying much attention until the older Chinese man standing above the baby (hanging onto the rail) started making faces. Pretty soon that baby was chuckling like a big person! Everything I was feeling sour about just *poof*, vanished & I was laughing right along with the baby & everyone else started laughing too. That is probably one of the best sounds in the entire world! No matter what kind of mood you're in, hearing a laughing baby never fails to cheer you up. They got off the bus too soon but I sure enjoyed it while it lasted!

OMFG!! That was too cute! I love when the kid hits his head and daddy's is "ooops"!! HAHA The dad is just as funny.
That reminds me.. I should tickle the ####### out of Tierra when she gets home. WHen she gets into a full on laugh I LOVE it!

Dillon.. I read your post again. That is soooo sweet that Mikal and Marley talked about that. I love it.
I think you could just call a family lawyer or someone similar and ask about names changes. In the states I think you would just have to say there is no contact with the birth father... put an add in the paper in the last known city annoucing you are looking for him or something and after 30 days... no answer then she is all Mikals.. but he is in JA so I am not sure. Maybe it would be easier!
Google it. :)

Irie..has Tierra ever wanted to change last name to Francis? Marley tells people her last name is Cox now and has even asked me if I would go to the court house and change it legally for her. Mikel said he is going to adopt her guess the two of them sat down and talked about it one day while I was at work, but I just don't know how to go about it since we have no contact with her birth father.

Just was wondering if T ever asked to change her name.

She used to. She sways back and forth. When we were preparing for the wedding she would ask if her name would change too.. she wanted it to. But now when she clashes w/ Louis she would say she wouldnt want to change it.. I think the older she gets.. she may get closer to Louis. And want to change it. But she wouldn't want to hurt her dad's feelings. She is very aware that would piss him off!
Now in the future if the relationship with her dad falls more apart.. I expect this to happen because of the choices he makes in life... no home, no job... not very stable. I will not allow her to go stay with him at whomever girl's house who has taken him in.

Now Louis' mom's last name is Noel. I love this name and Louis has always wanted to change his name to hers. Francis is actually an uncles last name. He doesnt have his mom or his dad's last name... common in St Lucia...
So..... if he changes, then I will change of course... gosh what a giant fiasco!

I love the name Jean...that's mother's middle name...mostly everyone calls her Jean instead of her first name, Gloria...awww!

Gloria Jean.. thats a coffee place. :)

Well athough Im feeling melancholy about my mommy, today is not a good day to visit my dad because they got divorced and he remarried, which ticks me off til this day, although his wife is a good woman. I just recently started having a better relationship with my father cause he was a biotch to us growing up. Sometimes I can be just like him but I do have compassion. I think because he and my hubby get along so well, Im trying for the sake of peace to forget the past but its really hard for me. I don't wish sickness on anyone but sometimes I wonder if he is being punished for the way he treated my mother.... I was so bad when she passed, I asked God why didn't he take him instead of her! But Ive prayed really hard to just accept him in my life and let the past be the past...Posted Image

I have been talking to Tierra lately about her Dad. Trying to make her feel better about the whole "situation". I have even told her that my Dad (she calls him fishin' grandpa) wasnt always a great dad. He drank to much and treated "nana" badly. Thats why they divorced. Same as her daddy and stepmom. I didnt see my dad for about 13 years and then when I was 21 we hung out at the SAME CLUB.. it was so weird. He would warn all the men to stay away from his daughter HA!! It was always the Jamaican men, cause thats who he hung out with. The whole thing was surreal!
Then when I found out I was pregnant with Tierra.. he manned up for sure and has been a great dad, grandpa and just a good friend now to me. I can talk to him about stuff I cannot talk to my mom about. She is a bit judgemental and he knows he can't judge me at all...
It was hard when I was younger.. I was always mad at him, didnt care where he was, what he was doing .. nothing. He stopped talking to me because of my crazy stepmonster!
I tell Tierra "sometimes it takes Daddys longer to grow up than Mommys" ;)

You have to give up something that would be hard for you to give up. I have such a sweet tooth and not eating them is really hard. I don't really swear so that wouldn't be as much of a challenge for me. I explain it to my kids this way. Jesus sacraficed a lot for us...so I give up something that is hard for me to remind me what he had to go through. It is like a penance.

This might explain it better:

There are traditionally forty days in Lent which are marked by fasting, both from foods and festivities, and by other acts of penance. The three traditional practices to be taken up with renewed vigour during Lent are prayer (justice towards God), fasting (justice towards self), and almsgiving (justice towards neighbour). Today, some people give up a vice of theirs, add something that will bring them closer to God, and often give the time or money spent doing that to charitable purposes or organizations

That sounds like a nice thing! Thanks!
40 days , no sweets! Rough... I thought it was just a week!

Charity sounds good..especially with the kids.
The worst thing about no car is Tierra and I cant get to the nursing home on the weekends anymore...she loved it!

omg dillon, i was the same way.. well about wanting to have the last name as my children..
another reason it was hard to change.. i had been holloway for so long.. i didn't care that it was HIS name LOL
its been rather easy to adapt to the new name, like writing it and stuff..but it LOOKS so wierd to me..LOL

I always had a different name from Tierra. Since her dad and I were never married and she has his name. It makes it a little easier since a couple of her close friends all have different names from their moms.
And even though her dad and stepmom are divorcing ... stepmom is keeping the name and that makes Tierra happy. :)
I change my last name but never did the CCs... and I just realized I didnt do the passport. I should do that if we ever get the money to travel somewhere!!!

girl, his tail was on a one year probabtionary period. LMAO That's sad huh... I'm just keeping it real...Now, since I waited so long I don't see the point unless we have kids, but one day I may wake up and do it. I did get copies of our marriage certificate a couple of weeks ago for that purpose.

Hey Dens girl!

What does the Shamrock shake taste like? It looks minty? I love the orange creme or chocolate banana shakes at McDonalds. lol

Shamrock shake is a little minty... not overwhelming.
We don't have chocolate banana or orange creme at Mcd's here.. although I must admit I don't eat there cause there is nothing I can eat! Even the fries aren't vegetarian!

Morning Ladies...
MrsTee...maybe you can do or eat something today that your mother really loved. Might make you feel like she is with you today. Today is my on of my dearest friend's birthday...guess great ladies are born on this day.

1luv...hang in there...we are here if you need to vent.

Irie I have never had one of those shakes but they always look good to me. I almost was willing to go and get one but I have given up sweets for lent and I am not going to cave in. Even though I am REALLY tempted.

Dills.. I totally dont mean to be offensive but I have to ask about Lent. Are you giving up sweets to symbolize something? I never really understood that and not eating meat on Fridays. My BF is Catholic but she never explained to me. Her mom would give up gambling during Lent and she would just be a bitchy crab for the time.. LOL
Didn't see how that helped anything. :hehe:

Give up swearing, or sex! LOL That would be easy with Mikal gone... DONT GIVE UP SWEETS!

Mrstee, I am sorry you are feeling melencholy.. I am no stranger to that feeling.
I cannot imagine the feeling of losing my mom, I would be devastated. I only wish for you happy thoughts today.
Call your dad.. can you visit him? Maybe just visit him if you can.
I am with Ells about feeling uncomfortable... I have a hard time w/ sick people as well.
My mom's boyfriend of 15 years passed away when I was 20 of lung cancer. He was only in the hospitol for a week before he died. I could not go to visit. I think now maybe I could but at 20 I was too afraid to cry. Now I cry all the time and just say "f it"... LOL
Thats me! I am a cryer! LOL

Have a green beer, or a shamrock shake and some smiles today. :)

Louis is more willing to take money we may not have so people don't know we have no money... I am always like.. "my friend have known me for a long time and all those years I have been broke.." LOL

JQ, be careful with the sensus taking. Do you go door to door? 2 women were assaulted here in Maine while taking sensus questions. But I know you could handle it. :)
I also think you should be able to do what you want. I know we are married now and we should talk about what we want to do or buy etc.. but to ask permission... I dont know about that. My mom always says "Louis is letting you go out"... I am like #######? I dont ASK if I can go out... LOL And Louis doesn't make that an issue.
Jew... I set up Louis' FB, we have the same password etc and can go on each other's for whatever reason. He is always asking me to delete stuff, or reply to e-mails... because he says he takes to long to type.
I saw an e-mail from "an old friend" from st Lucia. I did not like what she had to say and he deleted her... I am glad for that! I don't think you should worry about snooping... hubby shouldnt have anything to hide!! 1

Speaking of FB. Louis posted a sappy love song on his page and said it was for "his lovely wife" .. LOL
I think he knows he made me mad the other day and that was his way of saying sorry. awwwww

Eric_Jew Nug, that's great that he could walk-in. We did that, too. I doubt it saved any time with our case, but it's great to go at YOUR convenience.

I can't remember... Did you take any pictures of the paint on his truck? From all the Forensic Files episodes I've watched (though none while Steven's gone, as they give me nightmares), that seems like a pretty simple case if there are pictures.

Paid extra?

No Extra pay Nat!!?? Oh no! Well I hope your pay is good to start with! ;)

I did take pictures. I forwarded the ones w/ my paint on the truck to the ins agent. Turns out my friend's neighbor did the assesment on the truck after they reported a "hit and run". I am hoping that same person went to see my car as well. Especially since my friend told him the whole story and he agreed it was BS this other guy was spewing!!
IrieCatFemaleSaint Lucia2010-03-16 08:22:00

Hi Roxcie! The other guy's ins company was "not convinced" that his truck hit my car. So they sent out someone to assess the damages on my car and to see if things were consistant with the truck's damage. So we are waiting to hear about that this week. Since my car was "purplish" and the truck was white... helllllooooo... my car left some purple paint on the truck.
I have contacted a lawyer and have had some advice. There are "next steps" if this doesn't pan out this week or next. Just a waiting game for now.

Morning, All!

Not too early. I'm conducting training for our associates in Malaysia tonight from 10 to 11:30pm. I think I'll leave work early & take a nap today.

Nat, I hope you get paid extra for this late night training! At work at 6:45 and training at 11pm? YUCK!

Nat, I swear in the 2 days since changing clocks back... I cannot get to sleep at night. I am up until midnight and then tired when I have to get up in the morning. It is so annoying. Although in your case it seems your getting alot of work done.
Also, when Louis was in SLU I didnt sleep well then either. Even though he works nights... it was different when he was in a whole other country! Maybe you will be super sleepy tonight and can get to bed early. Don't drink that Earl Grey before bed.... caffeine! :)

OMG, WTH is wrong with people? That's just awful. Sorry to hear that Irie. I guess he tried to dump his body and it didn't work.

Louis says these people are idiots... provoking people and starting "war". People getting involved in the wrong shyt!!
When he went home in January he was surprised to hear about all the killings etc.. I guess things are changing for the worse. It is unfortunate that people are trying to "get rich quick" with drugs etc and thinking that are "bad men" and untouchable...

Its a small island and when bad things happen it reflects on the country as a whole. Not good...
