i am under ap over months now, and i know some friends who done with ap and then renewed medical and police report and waiting since month and they didnt take the visa and i want to travel to russia to study some courses instead of staying at home cuz i work in tourism and it is not good now so i was wondering if it is problem if i took my passport and travelled to russia tlll they finish ap?

hello , i had my interview on 21 jan 2013 and i t was good and he took my passport and he told me it will take 2 weeks till 3 months almost to have ur visa it is fiance visa , but now it is 107 days and still under AP so what is the problem with it? it take much time because i am muslim or what?

i129f APPROVED! :D CSC April Filer

Yay! I was so worried when I started seeing all the late April filers getting approved as we were passed by. I think I was right when I assumed they grabbed a different box before the one our folder was in. Anyway, the patience has paid off and we finally got our NOA2 at 22:15 Tuesday night the 23rd.

Being the non-conventional type of person I am, I came up with a cute little riddle to have my fiancee solve instead of the boring "we got approved" xD I attached the file below.

In the end it worked out perfectly and she didn't get the full solution until all the letters were in place

It's a little personalized (as it should be), but maybe someone else will like the idea or be inspired to tell their fiancee in a creative way like this. We met on World of Warcraft, so pardon the jargon, heh.

PS Thank you all for the wealth of information on this website! See you at NVC!

This is a follow up to my post from a couple weeks ago. It turns out my fiancée wrote a journal entry about the day I told her our application was approved and we wanted to share it with you guys. The original post is here:

Andrew and I are two totally different types of people, and we all know that. However, I am so impressed because he knows me so well that he can use my personality to trick me into doing things in accordance with his plan. After second thoughts, maybe it?s not such a bad thing.

I had a boring and busy day as usual, and after explaining my job and working hours to Andrew last night, I am very relieved that he didn?t really bother me today.

Starting from this afternoon 15:46: He said he made me something cool but I have to open it up on the computer. Because I was still at work, he said wait until I get home. I totally ignored those messages because it is really bad for my boss to see I am doing personal things during work time. I was not so worried about Andrew being mad because in the morning about 11:40 I told him that I am busy and didn?t want my cellphone to ring while I was working. Even though I am not that busy all the time, I really don?t want to be too involved with personal things especially while I am at work. As for the cool thing he made me, I thought it was going to be a professional website for me. I made Andrew a very bad website for our engagement yesterday and sent it to him. I thought he was going to surprise me with similar things.

He waited patiently and sent something else at 21:45. ?Only 1 more hour till my lovely Zihui gets home.? I sent him a smiley face to tell him that I saw his messages.

According to my message, I got home at roughly 22:40. I just sent him one message and then I went to shower. During this time, Andrew kept sending me messages asking me to get on skype and he even used ?please?. 23:00roughly after 20mins waiting I finally finished my shower and got online. I explained to him that my fallen hair got stuck in the drain and water wasn?t flowing down, so I had to grab a pair of gloves.

As soon as I logged on, Andrew sent me an excel document. In fact I was kinda disappointed and confused when I saw the excel file. I was thinking maybe he made something ?cool? about his job or some kind of flow chart. I am not interested in some of his ?cool? things at all, therefore I didn?t pay attention to this file.

I opened it too early before I got the complete file, therefore it took me a while to finally be able to see it.

This screen shot was taken after I figured out what?s going on. (See attachment) In the original version, all the letters on the top right hand side boxes were replaced with question marks. I thought he wanted me to find the relationship between numbers and fill in the blank. A math game was what I had in mind. The question marks were to hint what are the letters under those numbers.

It didn?t take me too long to figure out what the letters were. However, I had a hard time putting them into the box on the right hand side. I was not really sure if I should capitalize the letters or not. Luckily Andrew was doing a video call with me, and he asked me to read out loud and he had been giving me hints when I was supposed to figure it out by myself.

It took me a while to finally understand in what way I should be putting the letters in the box. After I figured out the letters they didn?t really make sense. Therefore I thought I should put them in the box so that they look like something such as ?I love you?.

As I starting to put letters in order according to the numbers, number 1 is not at the first place, therefore I was very confused, because it is supposed to be at the first place. Therefore in order to give myself a better understanding of this puzzle, I did a very stupid thing, which is I copied every letter according to the order. Even though it doesn?t make sense, I put them in according to sequential order.

Meanwhile Andrew got very impatient, and he asked me to show him my screen. After he saw what I did to his numbers and letters, he asked me to put the letters in the box accordingly, instead of put every letter in order. Then I started to think that if after I put the letters in, all the letters were going to show a pattern that is not a word, but if you put all the letters in a specific shape, they are going to make up a picture or look like some word instead of being some word.

Anyway Andrew had to help me. I started to put the very first letter in the number 1 place. Which totally doesn?t make sense, as I kept going, the puzzle itself was becoming more confusing, because I was very afraid that I had the wrong detail of the work he wants. Such as the last one. He actually bought his ticket to China in November, but he came to China in December.

As I moved forward slowly, most of my focus is on the puzzle questions itself instead of the final box. Therefore not until the last moment, did I realized that the word is ?approved?. When I looked at the box again my heart was so excited and I couldn?t stop looking at it over again and again. I had to use my hands to cover my mouth so that Andrew didn?t see the big O shape of my mouth. Tears were starting to come out of my eyes. We have been waiting for so long, and finally got approved! I will never forget that moment. I also will always remember that Andrew has been working so hard to make me the chart and had to keep the secret and wait for me to get home. He must have been very excited himself too, but he waited for me to get home so patiently, and I was so stupid to notice his intention. If Andrew and I exchanged places, Andrew would quickly notice what I was trying to tell him. He would ask me ?have we been approved? Otherwise you wouldn?t make random cool things.? I walked through the puzzle exactly as Andrew planned. He knows me too well and he knew I would react like that.

I felt that I was surrounded by a thick coat of warm chocolate. Andrew?s loving heart once again proved it is so right to marry him. No boy I have ever known would spend so much time coming up with a puzzle to show me something. Besides the puzzle he created goes through the sweet things and valuable memories of both of us. It is so nice to look back. I mean for the very first letter in a, he could have used ?the first letter in a sweet red fruit.? Or something like that. But he is so sweet because he knows I like WoW very much so he used WASD to hint me. (WASD controls movements in WoW).

All in all, this was the greatest day in my life so far, and I have never been that happy .

Oh for anyone else going through Auckland, Nicole said she was able to pick up the visa today, which saved us at least 2-3 days of waiting for it to be mailed. She will be here Sunday !!!!!!!!

Finally

I didn't expect any speed bumps and everything ended up going well. Interview was in Auckland and Nicole said it only lasted about 15 minutes while 5 of those minutes was mostly just the IO going through the documents. Overall pretty much a breeze. We're expecting her passport back in the mail within 2-3 days. She has everything packed so will be booking a ticket the same day I can't wait to finally hug her again!!

Question regarding Police Character Certificates for IR1

Thanks for your quick response!

Unfortunately, Pakistan does not have a central Police register so applicants have to submit certificates from every jurisdiction where they have lived for a period of time. I was wondering if living in a dorm while attending college corresponds to living in that jurisdiction for over 6 months (even though there are breaks in which she would be in Karachi).

Question regarding Police Character Certificates for IR1

Hey folks,

I had a question regarding when you would be required to get a PCC. My wife lived in Karachi with her parents through high school, undergard and work. She then went to Lahore for her post graduate degree for two years. After completing her post graduate, she returned home and has been working there.

So will my wife only need a PCC from Karachi, or will she also need one from Lahore for the time she was living in a dorm during her post grad?

Interview preparation

Agreed! Send anything you want the consular officer to see with your IV package. They often will not look at anything brought to the interview.

Shoot!!!

I already sent in my IV package, but have a lot of documents prepared for my wife to take with her to the interview (financial stuff, pictures etc). Is there a way i can send these in to the NVC after i have already sent in the IV package if they will help my case avoid the dreaded AP?

Affidavit of support... letter of employment?

On the travel.state.gov site, it says:

Evidence of financial support (e.g. Affidavit of Support, a notarized offer of employment, or evidence of assets)

Is the notarized offer of employment for people already in the country? If I am filing for an IR-1/CR-1 for my spouse who lives out of the country, could a company here in the US still offer him a job and may this offer of employment letter be used in the affidavit of support?

The Affidavit of Support is for the sponsor of the beneficiary (which is usually the petitioner). You (the petitioner) would have to declare your assets and income and fill out your information on the I-864 in order to sponsor your spouse (the beneficiary). If you are unable to declare enough assets and income to support your spouse and rest of your dependents (if any) at 125% of the federal poverty line, then you will need a cosponsor to file the Affidavit of Support with you. You can see the Federal Poverty Line in form I-864P.

The beneficiary's assets and employment is not taken into consideration for the Affidavit of Support as they are neither a US Resident, nor a Citizen.

The Affidavit of Support is something you submit after the I-130 has been cleared through the USCIS and your case is at the NVC. A..I included my Ukrainian fiance's 18 year son on the I-129f form. My fiancee went for her interview alone on Jan 27th, 1998. She immediately came to the US and we were married on Feb 21st. I called the US Embassy in Warsaw in July and explained that my Stepson was ready for his interview. He had 1 year to come the US on the k-2 visa. They set an appointment for him in 30 days. They mailed him the same forms as they did for my wife. He had to get the same documentation as my wife had to for her interview. As soon as he arrived in the US we applied for his change of status and work card.
(FAQ note: the son moved to the US in Sept 98, and even had the visa interview delayed a month due to problems obtaining an international passport. He was not even required to have a new I-134 affidavit, Although his step dad sent one to him.)

I am in the same boat...still waiting for our MNL#. I did email NVC for request our MNL# so hopefully they will send this soon. My understanding though is that the Embassy schedules the interveiw.. I can do that instead of them? It would prefer to do this that way I can plan ahead to have her go in for her interview.

Paying for my fiancee's Visa for the K1

Hi.....

For some reason I am stuck on this for I am confused on how to pay for my fiancee's visa. I know about going

the site to go to buy it and schedule her interview, but can I use my debit card to buy it? I see in the instructions

that I have to use Philippine currency and something about going through a Philippine bank to get the receipt.

I must be really slow today or something. If I use my debit card here in the States, won't the currency automaticaly

convert to the Philippine currency? As far as a receipt, doesn't a person get a paid notice from the site? I could

bring my bank statement to show that it was paid. I guess on my bank statement it will have some kind of

# on it from the visa site. Am I making it more complicated than I need to? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Another question too is if I scheduled an interveiw for my fiancee and had to change the date, will I have to pay for

the visa app again? I thought I saw this somewhere in the instructions.

Response after Exam Registration..

Hi Everyone..

I registered my fiancee for her Med exam since she is unable to due to still feeling the effects of that storm.

My question is that they asked for a working email, which I sent my email address, so they send a confirmation back to me. I still have not heard back from them and I did this on Monday the 18th. How soon do we get a response back? I am wondering if I am have written my email addresss wrong or something. Is there a way I can double check the info I sent them? I have a feeling what I sent is done with.

CEAC STATUS STUCK ON READY SINCE NOVEMBER 22!!HELP!!!

We've been waiting for our status to change to Issued from Ready since November 26th and I'm seriosly going crazy. I call DOS multiple times a day and check CEAC obsessively. Okay i have a couple of questions not sure if its the right place to post ,but i can`t find clear answer to most questions and since we are all August filers here i thought maybe you guys could help .

So do i need my Police Records for the NVC stage or the interview ? it seems to me like i need it for the Interview but i read that i need it for the NVC stage aswell ? i have no clue how long the Moroccan certificate is valid for ...and since i have duel citizenship and two different names I'm not sure if will get in trouble for that,my husband did mention that i have 2 different names in a letter while applying for the I130, in Morocco my name is I.Larini while in my German papers its Nadja.I Larini ,story was that my parents had to chose an extra name at the German Embassy to register my birth cause they could not tell if i was a female or male from my name??? Anyways my Passport and Birth certificate will have my German name on it and all other documents but my Police certificate will have the Moroccan one,i thought I'll just bring all my papers and let them decide

Also while looking at our I130 for Errors we did find a few mistakes ...my husband left some answers Blank instead of N/A and he also left questions 22. all blank and now we know that we should put in the Embassy that i will have my interview at in that section .

My last question is do we send a letter to the CSC with an updated I130 or just wait for an RFE ? i have been told just to wait for an RFE but when my husband called and asked they said to send a letter in but that was when it was a the NBC now its at the CSC hmm ,also my husband will be visiting me in 2 weeks for 10 days that should not be a problem right? i assume nothing will happen meanwhile and it will take a over a month just to get to the NVC ?

Sorry about all these questions ,but I'm quite lost with all the different answers .
